Emperor Ming in East Riding of Yorkshire

What a great little restaurant. Very friendly service and the food was great. Lots of choice and excellent quality. It was quiet when we went so we didn’t need to book, we were a walk in. They also offer a take away service.

Absolutely disgusting food Soup was thick like jelly, taste & texture was horrible. Barbecue Spare ribs were no better, they were in like a gravy sauce , not barbecue They tasted awful The shop was dirty & smelly. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

The place is so cozy and very friendly atmosphere. The staff are kind and approachable,, they have a good hospitable service. The foods are superb and delicious. Highly recommended restaurant especially for a fine dining type of get together or gathering. I celebrated my birthday (October, 2023) in Emperor King restaurant and it is a superb experienced.

Don't bother!! Going as a group for a rare opportunity of a night out, we were assured this place could cater for Gluten free! Having chosen what we could eat as initially advised they could adapt most meals. On ordering it became apparent they couldn't adapt most things. We ordered what we wanted ( we ordered the set meal for 2 at £20+ each) with assurance they would cater for us. On delivering food to the table, I was sat there with nothing to eat!! The starters were NOT GlUTEN free.. so leaving me without. Getting very hungry and only a bottle of wine to cater so far, the main meals soon followed. They then advised they couldn't guarantee cross contamination!! They assured me that they would try there best and everything was washed between cooking. I ended up with half a bowl of fried rice and beef in Cantonese sauce (not what I'd ordered). .. Lacking in taste and substance and not having any option for anything else to eat! Not even prawn crackers offered as a complimentary item for a table of 6. Leaving highly dissapointed and very hungry :( THEY WOULD NOT CONSIDER ANY REDUCTION IN THE PRICE OR ANY COMPEMSATORY FOR OUR MEAL!!! We continued our night as going to a concert. Hour afterwards (considering I'd eaten nothing else that day) I experienced the most excruciating pain and horrendous bloating!! DEFINITELY GLUTEN REACTION NEVER TO RETURN AND DEFINITELY NOT SOMEWHERE ID SUGGEST TO ANYONE!! DEFINITELY ONE TO AVOID.. Don't bother wasting your money!! I've not been that unwell in a long time!! They should not be advocating saying they can cater for gluten free when they simply cannot! And lack of understanding and assurance on cross contamination!!

We had a take away . Food arrived hot and what we ordered. Very tasty and ample in portions.we will use again when next visiting Bridlington .

I order a takeaway. The food arrived on time but when we opened the package we were horrified. There was a clue in that the packaging was soaking wet. We had special fried rice which turned out to be two dishes of watery gravy containing bits of very fatty meat and some drowned veg. At the very bottom was a very smalll amount of rice that had turned into a sort of rice paste. I did try a taste and it tasted like salt. Frankly it made me and my daughter feel ill I called the restaurant and as soon as I mentioned a complaint they hung up. I had to ring a further 4 times ,with them hanging up each time. Eventually someone did speak to me but was abusive and said that I was a bad customer and got what I deserved, I’ve never even used them before. They refused to do anything about it and said that they were busy dealing with proper customers. I only used the. As I have an injury that prevents me walking, so with the food in the bin and unable to get to the shop it was toast for tea. It was yummy.

Just had a really nice take away meal prepared and ready in less than 20 minutes!! I had king prawn with ginger and spring onions with extra cashew nuts, my husband had sweet and sour king prawn balls. Very tasty!!! Very pleasant staff too 😊👍

Very friendly but food was very average, went to toilets if I’d gone before the meal I wouldn’t have eaten their, they were in need of a deep clean and would scrape the plates on a table at the bar into a tub which wasn’t something you needed to see maybe take it to the kitchen

Whilst in the area for a birthday celebration and after reading the reviews we decided to celebrate the occasion here, the service was fine but the food left a lot to be desired, we ordered BBQ ribs and were served ribs that could only be described as in gravy, I am aware that all chefs have their own interpretation of how to cook this dish but this had no resemblance to any thing Chinese, the main course was mixed seafood chow mein and I don’t know how best to describe what we were served, the seafood content consisted of 1 mussel cut in half, 2 prawns, 2 small strips of squid and 2 crab flavoured sticks, this was accompanied by some mix vegetables which was mainly cucumber and noodles. The meal was a big disappointment considering the price that was being charged, I feel that the previous reviews were correct at the time of writing but it would appear that this restaurant now has a different chef and this is evident in the quality of the food.

Yes the food was superb and reasonable enough i felt for what i ordered. Service was swift and for a Weekend night you cant fault that. There looks like a restaurant also as well as the takeaway in the building, But i would happily go again if im in the area

Booked here a week before arriving and what a little jem . We had the set meal for two very filling and absolutely fantastic will definitely return again . Thanks for a great evening

Ate here for our evening meal. We discussed our menu choices with the delightful owner. She helped us choose which order to recieve them so there was no delay in waiting for any of the dishes. The comprehensive menu had all our favourites. The food was excellent and the bill very reasonable. We definitely recommend eating here.

Ate here last night had seafood hotpot which was excellent wife had Singapore fried rice with a satay sauce all really good will definitely return

Was staying nearby and looking for somewhere to get a Chinese takeaway around 5pm but most places seem to open later.I called at half 4 to place my order and was told I could collect it at 17:15 which was perfect.(I got there a few minutes early and the food came out exactly on time!)Ordered a range of different dishes and they were all really good.The deep fried chicken balls were definitely my favourite. Really lovely doughy batter and the chicken inside was cooked to perfection and soft and juicy.The crispy shredded beef was also very good. Amazingly crispy and plenty of sauce (which wasn't as hot as previous times I've had this elsewhere but I was very happy with that!)The quarter duck was also very good and seemed to be a bigger portion than at other Chinese restaurants.The egg fried rice and noodles were also all very good.All the portions were a very good size and the prices were slightly cheaper than other places in the area, and much cheaper than my local places in Yorkshire.Will definitely order from here next time we're staying in the area.

Booked a table in the restaurant with family while visiting Bridlington. There were 7 of us in total, 4 adults and 3 children.The restaurant was very quiet. Only us and 2 other tables but they were very busy with takeaway orders. Service was still ok despite this, a little slow at times but we were in no rush so it wasn't a massive issue.The food was very tasty but so tight on portions. Everything felt smaller than you'd get in a take out carton yet paying a good £2-£3 more per dish. I always expect to pay more to eat in to cover service, cutlery, crockery etc but don't expect to receive a smaller portion as well. We were charged £1.75 for prawn crackers. A tiny bowl of prawn crackers maybe 10 in there at best! For 7 people!! They didn't even last 30 seconds.All in all, the food was good but based on the experience we wouldn't return if visiting the area again.

The food was very bland and dry. The wait time was also ridiculous for a takeaway and had I known this I wouldn't have ordered.

Came here for my birthday meal. Food was all delicious and we had a range of dishes including assorted starters, black bean, crispy chilli beef, salt and chilli chicken and more. Cannot fault them! Important to note that this isn’t a place for a fine dining experience as it feels that the restaurant area is an accompaniment to the takeaway. Also no beers on draught, apparently due to COVID. Nonetheless would highly recommend for some great Chinese food.

If you want to wait 2 hours for a takeaway and have to deal with rude telephone staff who swear at you while you ask when your food is going to arrive then order from here

Take away ordered based on trip advisor for 6. Delivered red hot and on time. Super friendly staff Food was clearly restaurant quality and fresh and vibrant. I very rarely enjoy Chinese let alone review it.

Unusual in a Chinese restaurant or takeaway the staff here will tell you exactly which dishes are gluten free. Reassuring and delicious!

With Covid keeping the restaurant closed it was a takeaway for us. We chose the set meal A for 2 at £16.95. The meal was ready for collection within 20 minutes, not bad for a Friday evening. Wow, what a meal, the portions were very large and we both thought the meal was possibly the best Chinese takeaway we had ever had. We have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant for a takeaway.

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for refurbishment but they were operating a take away service. We went there twice whilst on holiday and found the food to be excellent. Quick service and the staff were very pleasant indeed.

Lovely (quick) take-away with plenty of veggie options. They threw in some extra prawn crackers and onion rings which were much appreciated!

Visiting Bridlington we wanted a Chinese and chose Emperor Ming as it was close to the Premier Inn we stayed at. It was the best takeaway we've ever had - portions were generous - I couldn't eat all my duck! Food was tasty and hot. Wish we lived nearer.

Was staying in Bridlington for a few days, with some golfing friends and we fancied a break from the hotel food.Pleasant restaurant, with friendly staff. Varied menu, with all food well cooked and served promptly fresh.As we downed much alcohol, as is this groups usual dining out experience, we couldn't quibble about the bill, which was less than £30 per head..would dine here again.

So myself and my family have used this Chinese for years. So when my partner mentioned Chinese for tea, we ordered from here. The lady who took our order on the phone was lovely and it was delivered very quickly. However this is where the whole experience goes downhill. My partner ordered a salt and chilli box. It was so messy, dry and just overall bland. Curry sauce just tasted like chip shop curry, he didn’t receive the curry dumplings as stated on the menu, however when ringing them to ask why, the same lady proceeded to argue with him. She tried explaining to him what curry dumplings look like and even though we explained we didn’t receive them, she continued to argue. My partner couldn’t be bothered with the argument so just ended the conversation with her. I ordered the crispy chicken in garlic which I’ve ordered plenty of times and it’s always been really nice. This time however, it was so dry, bland, overcooked and unbelievably salty. The portions have also changed and are very small. So basically we’re both now £20 down, still hungry but can’t eat anything else instead because we’re feeling ill after attempting to eat our order. After looking through recent reviews on here, I’ve come to realise that we’re not the only ones to be disappointed. Sorry emperor Ming but I’d be embarrassed if I was selling that food to the public.

Had a takeaway twice from here on our recent stay in Bridlington and on both occasions the food was excellent the king prawn curry and king prawn fried rice were delicious the prawns were fresh, slightly crunchy and tasty just as they should be. Now home in Nottingham we thought we would order the same dishes from our local takeaway only to be disappointed with soggy prawns looking forward to visiting Emperor Ming on our next visit to Bridlington

Really enjoyed our meals. When we come to Bridlington to visit family we always order from Emperor Ming and they never disappoint us. Absolutely lovely. Thank you for the great food and lovely customer service. Always five star

Got a text message 2 minutes after ordering food to say it was ready for collection my partner turnes up for food rings 7/8 times i text the mobile number and get ignored he is left stood there and there answer is sorry. Then i get a poor excuse when i say they need a bell, in the 5 years we have used this takeaway i have never ever seen a bell outside. Never mind it been tore off. if you are going to have the door closed think logically and get a bell, or a camera so you can see people waiting.

I ordered a takeaway and could honestly say never again. My husband had chicken curry and the chicken was hard and rubbery and inedible I ordered prawn toast that had been fried to within an inch of its life and was not edible. Worst experience ever

Menu looks amazing but food very disappointing. Hopefully as a first time order it was a one off. Asked for chowmein in sauce, came dry, chicken skewers undercooked, Kung po was very watery and tasteless, spring rolls tasteless, food was lukewarm. We ordered to share as usually Chinese are overfacing but portions are small From here. Just overall very disappointing. Did ring to let them know about the chicken and staff friendly enough, didn’t offer a refund or replacement but we didn’t call for that reason, however did get the impression they were trying to deny it would be undercooked. Anyway won’t be ordering again

Due to Cov19 and not been a lover of hygiene standards in restaurant /take always, based on reviews, I took the plunge. 3 weeks I have ordered a take away with delivery and will be next week. Although I have only had the curry, it meets all my expectations of what a Chinese curry should taste like. What I must also emphasise is that it arrives hot and I mean hot, hot! I cannot wait for this restaurant to open so we can go for a meal. I highly recommend.

There are loads of amazing dishes to choose from, a favourite is special fried rice in wine sauce. It is nicel located slightly off the town centre so not too busy, they do takeaway and eat in , delivery can some times be an hour or more but that wait is certainly worth it!

Never been here before so gave it a try, got prawn fried rice with curry sauce and portion of prawn toast, the meal was ok, I've had a lot better, but the prawn toast was awful and only 4 small pieces, nearly a pound a piece and chewy, yak.

We came to Bridlington for the weekend for my partners 40th birthday we came here to eat we hardly touched out it was shocking we asked for a chicken curry no veg found a mushroom in it my partner can't have mushrooms the salt and chilli spare ribs was over cooked very hard the soup no flavour very bland prawn crackers wasn't fresh either the list go on we didn't want to make a sence that night so I mentioned it the day after and she said well you paid now so it's too late not a nice reply my partner today isn't feeling to well and we hardly touched out and didn't stay long at all had our j20 drinks then left it looks nice inside but the food standards and service was shocking long wait time for food to as they do take away food I'd recommend people to Avoid this place here are a couple of pictures to prove we been here and our review is true not like some on here thank you for taking the time to read this and I wish they delt with my complaint properly they even put phone down on me when trying to explain saying you paid now then put phone down on me

Our first visit to this Chinese tonight and I must say 1st class food. Could not fault it. People were nice. Will definitely be going back. Thank you.

We found this restaurant by chance, booked for an evening meal, the restaurant is small but spotlessly clean, the staff are very attentive but the food, well I’m not exaggerating when I say this is one of the best Chinese meals we have eaten, well presented, served hot and the flavours are excellent, if your in the area do yourselves a favour and pay them a visit.

Visited on Saturday 5oct for our meal,fairly early in the evening,very clean,attentive pleasant staff but most importantly an excellent meal..served piping hot and good portion size with the best yet to come.The bill including 2 beers and the ladies sharing a bottle off wine came to a princley sum off £73.. spot on and we will return.

One of our favourite Chinese restaurant in Bridlington which is tuck away down a side street from greyhound pub but once found your in for a treat both owners and food is first class fantastic value for money the chicken curry is gorgeous

We were staying in Bridlington for a week and decided to try this place.....Never Again! I have to say that this was the worst Chinese meal we have ever eaten. I ordered Duck with prawn stuffing the duck was over cooked and had only been shown the prawn meat stuffing as there was very little on there, my partner said his crispy chicken was ok but not the best we ordered yung chow fried rice which was a horrible brown colour and had a token prawn thrown in and a hand full of peas for good measure I always ask for this type of rice when eating Chinese and have to say it was a poor excuse for Yung Chow.

Heard about this one a while ago so decided to give it a try.

Enjoyed our meal it was nice and hot and we did not have to wait to long we were the only dinners but it did not put me off.

We opted for the set dinner for two at £16.95 per person the starter consisted of (2 of each) spring rolls, samosas, chicken satay stick, & 4 x spare ribs with a bit of fried seaweed and prawn crackers, these were definitely shop bought and not authentic/homemade at all! The mains were equally disappointing the sweet and sour chicken tasted processed with the batter being more substantial than the meat. The black bean beef could've been from a ready meal and was quite salty. The service was good however given the simplicity of the dishes and the fact they were not busy (I wonder why) this was hardly surprising. The meal was not worth the money!!

Always came here when visiting family in Brid. Was surprised when after not visiting for at least 5 years this place was still going so called in for tea.

While staying at Thornwick holiday park we tried a takeaway form here as it came recomended, we wernt disapointed, Hubby had Mushoom foo young and i had the chicken salt chilly both with chips, wow , wish it was nearer to where i live ,

10 of us ate there on Wednesday 15th May great food plentiful & tasty. Not a large restaurant but very accommodating to groups and/or smaller parties.

Love the food here. Service is polite and fast. Delivery is always fast but the food is gorgeous. I tried a chicken curry at many other different places and their chicken curry is the best by far. The flavours are amazing.

We visit Bridlington regularly from Bradford. Had a chinese takeaway twice from here. Service is good, they even manage to deliver to the chalet we stay in. The food is excellent, probably one of the best chinese we’ve had!

My friend and I visited this restaurant on the strength of a recommendation by a local. The welcome was very warm and it was great value for money. My friend and I had spare ribs, chicken fried rice and onion rings. The food was outstanding and I would be happy to recommend this as an excellent Chinese restaurant.

Just try it, you won't be disappointed. This is the best Chinese I know and I don't live in Bridlington. I love the sweet and sour fish, my husband has the crispy shredded beef every time. Enjoy!!

I have ordered twice now from the Emperor Ming. Staff are always polite and their service is outstanding. The food was delivered to my home which was beautiful and hot too. This is one of the best takeaways for a long time. Their curries are amazing, could not fault anything. Thank you everyone at the Emperor Ming for putting my faith back in Chinese x

Having asked around while on holiday which was a good Chinese, we opted for this one. One of the best takeaways for a long time. Sweet and sour chicken, Duck chow mein, Chicken fried rice and prawn crackers. Delivered on time. Hot and very tasty. Under £20. Huge portions too. !!!!

So glad we chose this restaurant. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was beautiful and hot too! It was great value for money and will definitely be on our list for a visit on our next trip to Bridlington. Thanks

Have tried a number of Chinese takeaways in Bridlington but this one is the best. There is a restaurant but we use the takeaway and all the meals we have had have been very good.

Have visited this Chinese restaurant a few times when I have been holidaying in Bridlington. This place is an absolute gem. The food is delicious, the staff are very friendly and are very accommodating. Will definitely be visiting this restaurant when we visit Bridlington in the future. Highly recommend.

My family and I had Chinese from Emperor Ming Bridlington. We had noodles chicken curry, bean sprouts and salt and spicy chili wings. The chicken curry was so gloopy and the chicken in the curry was slimy it was awful. The bean sprouts were grey and chili chicken wings were dry and tough. I ate some of the chicken wings in the living room with a lamp on. I took the chicken into the kitchen only to see blood "Yuk" I phoned them up to complain and the lady said "Oh no the chicken has no blood on as we cook it lunch time then cook it again in the evening" "Yuk" again. She then told me that they cook a massive pot of curry and that me and my family have the same as everybody in the restaurant. So basically the pot of curry is sitting on the stove probably for hours. The lady in the chinese kept telling me that people love their curry and people come from Leeds just for the curry "Really?" She did not even offer me a refund or partial refund..Avoid this place.

After having read reviews and spoken to a few people decided to get a takeaway from here. I got a house special sweet and sour - it was tasteless. My grand-daughter got the honey lemon chicken which she said was really chewy. She didnt eat it. The rice was really dry. The best part of the meal was the chips, which were very good. I wouldnt use this takeaway again.

Visited on Wednesday 16th May with my wife & a group of 8 other friends. The Food & service was excellent. All of us chose a different meal & they were all served together & piping hot. The owner & her son were very attentive & could not do enough for us. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. There is also a cheaper 'Happy Hour' menu for the early diners (5pm - 7pm) with slightly smaller portions which are ideal for the smaller appetites.

Ordered takeaway from here a couple of times this month the first time was no problem the food was beautiful & delivery was quick the second time the food was fantastic again when it finally arrived it took an hour & half but I will definitely be ordering again hopefully the delivery will be about quicker though next time can’t fault the food at all the salt & pepper chips are amazing

Fancied a Chinese take away tonight but not being from Bridlington as here on holiday had to rely on reviews to guide us where to choose. Emperor Ming looked the best choice and we were not disappointed. We had delivery to our caravan site car park and it arrived promptly and piping hot and was absolutely delicious. In fact I think it’s up there as one of the best Chinese meals we have ever had and we will definitely order again when in Bridlington.

have visited here a few times each time has been lovely . I love the satay chicken and the salt and pepper chicken is really nice , my husband usually gets a prawn dish which he always really enjoys .

My wife are well travelled and we love Chinese and Thai food. So, we wanted to find the best place in town for Chicken and Cashews and Kung Po Chicken. Well, we have. Both dishes were delicious tonight. So, we shall become regulars.

We had a take away from here last Saturday and we received free prawn crackers with the meals. Every time we visit we have a good meal well worth visiting

In a day when most 'restaurants' that you visit in town's and cities are 'branded' it is SO nice to be able to visit a restaurant that is exactly that.. all about good food and customer service. When we walked in here, without booking, my daughter said 'Wow!' - this is amazing.. She has never been in to a 'proper' Chinese restaurant.. Wonderful food and staff, we had a great night, thank you.

I have visited this restaurant twice this month, both times the staff were really friendly polite efficient and welcoming. We enjoyed a nice relaxed meal without feeling rushed. The food was tasty and freshly cooked, nice crunchy vegetables in the chow mein. Really good house wine, and great value for money. Will def be visiting again very soon.

A bit out of the way down a side street and didn't look too impressive from the outside. Once inside the restaurant it was most impressive. Clean with the appropriate Chinese decor and atmosphere. Service and quality of the meal were excellent but the cost took my breath away. If you can afford it then it is worth the experience

Popped into the emperor ming on spec and had a very tasty meal, 3 starters 2mains and rice 4 drinks under 50pounds sterling.small restaurant seating about 25 covers,staff very attentive and food well presented.

Located almost opposite The Leisure Centre (and its car Park) on Landsdowne Road,this provides great food and takeaways.

Myself &husband & our daughter had an excellent banquet meal. Beautiful food and service great also. We will be back.

Second time staying in Bridlington and both times had takeaways frome here. Cant fault the Quality, quantity or time waiting for the food. If you like a good chinese you wont go far wrong at Emperor Mings.

We booked a table for eight, we were greeted by a member of staff who showed us to ourTable . We were served drinks and ordered our meals, The decor was v/good .2 of the party had the set meal, and the rest of us had different starters and different dishes so as to be able to mix and match ,The food was serve efficiently, and looked v/good, tasted even better,Everyone said how good the Meal was and would return. We had booked for 19 30 and it filled up by 20 30.

We live in Bridlington and decided to have a Chinese take away from emperor Mings on Saturday night. I can honestly say it was the worst take away I have ever had and I felt that I had been robbed of the £35 I paid. We ordered for 5.30 a big mistake I feel as it appeared everything was reheated from the night before. The wings and ribs for starters were cold and dry. The crispy duck was so dry it was inedible the main courses of crispy beef and pork in seschwan sauce were so bad we ate two pieces of each. The fried rice was freezing and the chips were definitely made the night before and recooked. The meal was so bad we will never ever eat there again

We went for a birthday celebration having been recommended by friends.The food is okay but nothing special and not all that cheap. They forgot one of our dishes but tried to charge for it.

Having organised the booking before going on weekend it was nice to get a reminder of our booking.The staff were excellent in providing for a hungry party of ten, and very helpful in selecting the right mix of food for finicky non believers! The beer flowed, so much we ran out of cold beer, the food kept coming and all left feeling satisfied with the service and quality of food.Many thanks to you and your team it was a fabulous night.

...we ordered take away but the restaurant looked really nice.The food was lovely, piping hot and very tasty.We'll definitely order from there next time we're in Brid.
