Really welcoming place, delicious food, mahoosive portions, excellent service. The interior looks really good too. They were able to cater for my lactose issues by changing the recipe for the southern fried chicken, which was really appreciated. The chicken was deliciously moist, and the piri piri sauce in particular was really good. The waitresses were dressed in 1950s dresses which my 7 year old daughter was very impressed with, and a little bit in awe of! Really enjoyed our meal here.

Ssooo pleased this place is open again ...took my mum there today ..food lovely ...ladies are lovely so friendly.. I love the place wish I lived closer..5 stars all the way.

Great fun place for breakfast, good food with good portions

This is a fantastic place to enjoy and a fantastic meal. Me and my partner visit every time we come to Whitby. The food is always delicious and has great portion sizes. The ladies at Emma's Diner are always so friendly and helpful.

Have a great atmosphere especially with all the Christmas decorations and music plus amazing food and service 🤩

had bacon wrap. it was massive. 3 rashers of bacon eggs and hash browns. piping hot and cooked perfectly. ladies serving were lovely. a great place to eat

This place is a must if you want the American diner experience without the transatlantic flight. Portion sizes are huge, staff are incredible, and the prices are perfect. This is now on our must list of dinner places during our regular week holidays to Whitby.

Wow! What can I say! Worth every single penny and it wasn't expensive at all. Huge portions of excellent quality food, cocktails with a Halloween twist but named after some classic rock n roll songs! Absolutely loved it! It was just a plus that we were there just before Halloween! Highly recommend to anybody.

Definitely an amazing restaurant especially during the halloween!the waitresses are soooo kind and nice to everybody🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩i got a very nice mood during the lunch and the food tastes so good🤩100% preference!

Been here a couple of times and its always consistently brilliant!, awesome food , service and decor . We particularly loved the spooky decor and Halloween themed cocktails! They really do go all out and we were impresssed !

Me and the wife had breakfast and it was excellent quality sausage bacon not the usual rubbish you get at other cafes lovely bread too also you get a proper cup of tea with a big tea pot , the place looks lovely the only thing I didn't like was I found the music a bit loud and could have done playing a bit more mellow music in a morning lol ( I must be getting old )

Wasn't sure what to expect when we randomly called in, but we had a wonderful experience. My halloumi burger was fabulous, the atmosphere was fantastic and the staff were lovely 😍

My first time in a 50s themed diner and I enjoyed it. The aesthetic is carried all the way through from the decor to the music playing on the jukebox and the waitresses wearing vintage dresses. The breakfasts were very good and the ice cream milkshakes delicious. Would recommend and hope to visit again.

Ate here many times over a number of years and the food and service has always been great from the ladies working there.

Me and my wife really enjoyed it the food and the service was excellent we would definitely recommend it and would definitely go back again when we go back to Whitby.

Fantastical diner with a cross between British and American culture. Amazing food and shakes. A real treat for breakfast and dinner.

Huge portions - too much alot of the time. Friendly staff and a cool 50s-70s diner vibe. My only quibbles would be, the 2 times I was in recently, the place was packed and the first time it took ages to receive the food (food was lovely though) and the second time there were some really rowdy guys in. My other quibble would be that it's impossible to book a table. When we were there a queue had built up of other people looking for a table. There was hand sanitizer at the door, but other Covid precautions were not observed, with several patrons constantly coughing quite severely. The staff also didn't wear facemasks, nor did the other patrons' when moving around or leaving the premises. If you're in Whitby, I'd definitely recommend this place, but be wary the portion sizes are huge. You can also expect a fun, nostalgic atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. UPDATE: In Whitby today and went to the diner and it was closed on Thursday 14th September 2023, when it states open on here. Not too pleased, as we were looking forward to it despite the much higher food prices.

Went here tonight with my wife and daughter. Had a great night. Food was lovely and portions were huge. Staff really friendly. Nice feel to the restaurant and kept clean. 2 for £10 cocktails were really good value. Made up for a disappointing Sunday lunch earlier in the day from a different place which shall remain nameless.

Such big portions! Love it! Should've come much more hungry than I did, but it's worth every penny you pay here!

What a find. 50's style dîner with amazing friendly staff and even more amazing food. Went with my hubbie, son who can be a picky eater and his wife. Apparently the Chicken parmesan was the best she has ever had. Huge portions, absolutely delicious. A must if you are in Whitby

Strange to find an American style diner in whitby. I was even happier to find that they did chicken schwarma. Amazing 50's style dresses worn by the waitresses and a Fabulously kitch cocktail menu added to the retro feel. Highly recommended.

Excellent The staff were excellent, really nice and welcoming, the menu was very varied and would definitely cater for everyone. The atmosphere was easy going yet happy and upbeat. With a American 50s vibe The food itself was simply superb, it only took 10 or so minutes to come, and it was delicious, fried chicken breast that was actually moist, juicy and tender, the flavour was beautiful. If you come to Whitby and don't fancy fish and chips, then this is the place to come! Only slight complaint is that it only takes cash, but still that's not a major issue Excellent!!!!!

My boyfriend and I came for an early valentine's lunch. Everything was 10/10. Loved the shakes and burgers, the diner was beautifully decorated and all staff were super friendly and welcoming. I loved their outfits too! 100% coming back next time we're in Whitby

Love love love this place, best find we have made. 100% make sure you are hungry when you visit, you need all the room you can find, but if you can't finnish your meal, boxes are provided for you to take away. 50's American-style diner and they go all out to make it as real as possible, from the staff clothes, to the music, the imported drinks and the portion sizes! Even the boy (whose appetite is usually never-ending) was beaten by the nachos. We actually came here about 6 years ago and had to go again when we saw it!

Fabulous place great breakfast

Just had the most amazing parmo and milkshake. The food was amazing quality and value for money. Why I have never eaten here before is beyond me but I will definitely be going again very soon.

If it wasn't for the manager making me run down to the hole in the wall for being £1.90 short they would have got a 5, there is no signs saying cash only, so when I came to pay I was told we only take cash, like I said £1.90 short, we offered to drop it in, but no go to the hole in the wall, My wife said he kept looking at her as if she was going to do a runner, sorry to mark you down because the girls were lovely,

A great place for breakfast and alike. Visited over the October 1/2 term so it was very well decorated for Halloween and full of Goths visiting for the Goth festival. Great food & service. Highly recommended.

Comfort food heaven! Being USA-inspired, cheese, cream and other comfort staples feature heavily but there were still plenty of choices for those trying not to be too indulgent (my veggie wife being one of them!). Well priced, friendly staff and great location. What's not to like? :)

Didn't eat here as I was looking for breakfast and the opening times were rubbish plus when I looked in the window there was still food on the floor from the day before and cup marks and liquid on the tables. Didn't fancy eating somewhere like that if they can't be bothered to clean from the day before.

The most amazing place I've ever eaten at! I'm a huge Halloween fan and this place is Halloween paradise at the right time of year! Food is amazing, drinks are incredible and so creative! Staff were so lovely and warming! Couldn't recommend enough, will definitely be revisiting when I'm next back in Whitby ❤️

Clean and inviting with friendly service and a great soundtrack (if you like Elvis, Buddy Holly and the Beach Boys - but who doesn't?). Food service not the quickest (more time to enjoy the music!) but fairly priced for the huge portions. Diner's Breakfast is fantastic!!

Great American style diner. Whilst it is an American Diner it still serves English breakfast up till noon. The service was fast and polite, the food was good, well priced and portioned and the restaurant is comfortable and clean.

We remembered visiting here on our last visit to Whitby and were keen to come back. We were not disappointed! Staff are dressed in 1950's attire, which made for a fun atmosphere. Food is excellent, great selection and large portions. We had to return the following day so the kids could order desert! The best restaurant in Whitby! Thank you.

OMG what can i say BEST BREAKFAST I'VE HAD IN WHITBY IN 7 DAYS found this place on our last day,what a shame amazing breakfast all locally sourced ,sausages from buthchers just a few yards down road .Well ive never left my toast with a breakfast ever but i did with this one stuffed.Staff so pleasant and polite and the owner emma what a nice lady ,id have paid a tenner for this breakfast ,huge pot of tea i had 3 cups and still more in pot .The place is so bright and well laid out if im in whitby again will deffo be going here ,and you get a blue riban with your drink .My wife had sausage and bacon bap which was soooo tasty .Thanks for a great breakfast shame we found you on last day .Oh loved the music to n

Had late morning breakfast and everything was great; very friendly staff, food was superb, my granddaughter had the pancakes and she loved them. Other people were having the full English and they looked impressive! Would recommend to all.

Have had breakfast the last two mornings, amazing food, great staff and a brilliant themed restaurant. We are going again to Whitby in Oct and we will definitely be eating there again,maybe even try the cocktails in the evening.

The bad news.. had to wait an hour outside as they do not take bookings. The good news.. . Friendly staff, clean venue and great food. Double burger, chilli dog, banana split massive.. if you go there.. go hungry... Well recommended.

This place is so aesthetically pleasing and does a really good job encapsulating the 50s vibe from back in the day. The prices are pretty generous for the portions you get and the food is delicious. Nothing is overly greasy or ‘junky’ but is cooked perfectly. The waitresses all are dressed in classic 50s dresses with their hair and makeup done which also trends well with the atmosphere. It’s a brilliant place for a date, with friends or family. Just try and avoid peak times as it’s quite a small place and the stress can be seen in the services. But otherwise an amazing place!

Visited this morning for breakfast ………great staff and food. Pancakes were yummy and full vegetarian breakfast excellent . Will be visiting again on my next Whitby trip as this was just lovely
