Emma's Dell in South Lakeland

The absolute hands down best carrot cake I've ever had. Still thinking about it several times a day 3 days later! Moist, beautifully spiced, delicious frosting. A DREAM. (Also gluten free though you wouldn't know it)

Stopped as a party of 5, for bread, coffee and cakes. Lovely cafe, service was quick, lovely tea, the cheese scone was a highlight, YUM 🙂

My family and I went to Emma's Dell on Easter Monday. It was very busy but the staff were totally unflustered. They were great and so was the food.

Came with 3 friends. Personally my food was nice however, my friends food looked sad for the prices and what came on the plates. Very over priced and service could be much better.

A first for me in Grasmere, great Cumberland Sausage butty. They serve all sorts of loose leaf tea in quirky teapots.

Food is varied and lots of choice. We had savoury and sweet in our group. Very full at the end even though it appeared a light bite. Excellent in all respects.

Horrible wet weather day in Grasmere and was the 1st cafe we came across that accepted dogs, was empty so probably not a good sign. Cakes and scones looked good but we were after a small lunch. All 4 of us went for the Cumberland sausage ciabatta. When it arrived it was a very small roll with 3 ‘chipolata’ sausages! Disappointed to say the least and not cheap either. Should not advertise on the menu if not what you are serving. Teas were ok and made with loose leaf tea. All in all I wouldn’t recommend as not much of an atmosphere unless you wanted to listen to the 3 young girls working there chattering as nothing else to do.

If you advertise that you serve Artisan coffee then you should really teach your staff how to make it. I ordered a flat white - what arrived was a bitter milky coffee, like a bad latte.

Dont bother visiting if you want good coffee. Lemon cake was doughy. We complained and therefore no charge. On a positive note the sausage sandwich ( brown bread ) was tasty.

Two of us had bowls of soup. Huge and delicious! Came with gorgeous rolls (which tasted fresh baked). Good value. Just what we needed on a cold January day!

Quick food stop after a walk up to Helm Crag. I had the smoked salmon and scrambled egg crepe which was very nice, but quite expensive. However, you can order a child portion of any crepe if you just want something light which is what my friend did.

Came in here based on a recommendation from locals. Usually go to Grasmere Garden Village but they no longer allow dogs which seems like a suicidal business move. Wasn’t disappointed - good coffee, and the scones/cakes were served fast and were very good quality. The staff made us feel welcome (especially the dogs!) so will be returning.

To be honest went in without huge expectations, but turned out to be a terrific lunch spot on a wet day in Grasmere. We grabbed the last table. The staff were competent, available and pleasant. We had x2 mushroom soups with fresh ciabatta rolls. Really good size bowls, and the soup was delicious. Also a pot of tea, and a very decent latte (reasonably good microfoam, and a bit of art) . Good value for money, and we'll definitely be back. Highly recommended.

went to Emma's dell for a change and was not disappointed. we were met by a lovely young lady and shown a table. we ordered coffee and cheesecake and it was a real treat. the place is spotless and a great place to chat while having lunch. a big thank you to jane and her team for making the afternoon really nice. i will be back

Lovely little spot with tasty food and friendly service. They were happy to split a sandwich over two plates for us, which was really nice too! They also do lovely smoothies.

£10 for 1 'smore' crepe with the most bland chocolate, marshmallow and cream is truly a disgrace. The chocolate milkshake was also very blank and tasted more like plain milk. Real shame as we have had good food here before but this is a rea let down for the very high prices. Better options in Grasmere that are worth the money.

After sitting down we were told that wet dogs weren’t allowed. Our dog, a retriever, wasn’t ‘wet’ except for damp paws and slightly damp tummy his back and sides were bone dry as it had been raining a little earlier. There was another family with a dog but because it was small it seemed that was acceptable. A cafe in the middle of the lakes that discriminates against large breed dogs despite ours being very well behaved in cafes is despicable . Discriminatory against larger dogs even when mostly empty, stuck up pretentious cafe that frankly doesn’t deserve the business. Plenty of lovely friendly cafes more suited to the area so it’s lost business. Oh, and they asked if I had something for him to lie on as if their floor was so precious despite people with muddy wet boots being allowed in. Unless you’re in your Sunday best don’t even think about trying to sit down here.

Fabulous food which was such good value. We has a cheese scone and cherry scone with tea and a coffee. The venue was also great, fantastically clean with attentive staff.

Popped in for a bite to eat mid-afternoon. Lovely service, and the cheese scones were amazing. Highly recommend. Only slight negative was it didn't feel very cosy, doors open and lightweight furniture.

We went back to our go to lunch place when we went back to Grasmere in July and it was a bit later than usual so wasn't as busy, the crepes were lovely as always and the staff very helpful as usual

The coffee was lovely, we had an iced and a hot latte. We also had the Eton Mess crepe which was very fresh and a good sized portion. I had a scone with cream and jam, the scone was huge and fresh. We sat outside on the decking which was lovely, I would visit here again in a heartbeat. Very friendly staff, quick service and clean facilities.

We had a lovely meal when we stopped here for lunch after waking through. Great selection of sandwiches, butties and crepes. Lots to choose from. The food was freshly prepared and our sandwiches were yummy. Milkshakes good too.

Lovely little cafe in the heart of Grasmere. Lots of interesting drinks on the menu which I loved as I get bored with the same old thing. I had an Apple and Blackberry tea which was so tasty! There are some tables and chairs outside where you can sit and watch the world go by. Very friendly staff.

Brilliant place for lunch. Staff are lovely, it’s spotlessly clean, really nicely decorated, nice to sit in and outside too. The food is lovely! We will definitely go back here next time we are in Grasmere.

We have been here a few times over the past few years and have mainly been for the wonderful crepes that they do, certainly fill a hearty appetite, always a smile on entering and we have been lucky to always get a table as it is busy sometimes, if you can get out outside on a nice day and watch the world go by.

We were visiting Grasmere so called in here .We had sausage and bacon ciabattas ,soup, cheese scone , flat whites, cappuccino. All very tasty and good quality ingredients with generous portions .Service very friendly

What a fantastic cafe! The scone was wonderful and I was lucky enough that it was freshly baked so still warm in the middle! 🤤 The coffee was tasty and so were the crepes. The staff were very friendly too.
