Eltham Grill House in Greenwich

Super fresh, tasty, great quality fish, meats and salads. Very kind and attentive service at the tables. Lovely decor and interiors, made this experience really pleasing. Perks: good prices, there is no smell of reused fried oil in the air neither in the batter and there is a great Mediterranean touch since they are Turkish, the atmosphere is elegant without being expensive. I will definitely go back to enjoy more. Many thanks 😊

The fish was amazing and even the salad it wasn't just a bit of lettuce tomato and cucumber There was cabbage onion and the flavour was really nice The only thing I didn't like was the waitress started cleaning our table and I was still eating but they was lovely waitress and fish we ordered was so freash xx

Very nice food , alot posher than it used to be , used to come.regualy 20years ago. Food is better , very small amount of choice for children. 4 to 5 choices I think . No children's cutlery . Will be back. Had salmon salad 🥗 very nice and sausage and chips.

In a nutshell… the best fish and chip restaurant in England. I come here every six or so weeks with my family and it never fails to impress. We now travel from the Southwest to come here. Thank you team.

The 5* is definitely worthy for the fish & chips offered, the batter, freshness of the fish, and the chips beautiful, the chicken burger generous in portion (just lacked a more suitable dressing / salad to elevate it, the size was generous. Will definitely be back again soon to try other offerings. Staff friendly & engaging. Well done

A really lovely little restaurant. Food is always freshly cooked and delicious. Lots of dishes to choose from - Highly Recommended.

We have been coming to Eltham Grill for many years. More recently it has been with my elderly mother. She can be difficult to please, but the staff are always friendly and helpful and the manager always recognises us and says hello, even though it can be months between visits.

Took them three times to get my drinks order correct . I ordered small cod, large cod and a haddock all with chips. When it arrived, the small cod was bigger than the large cod.! And when I asked them to question this, the chef said it was correct that was a large cod. However, it was smaller than the small cod!! in the end, I ordered haddock, but if I hadn’t have stood my ground, I feel they would’ve ripped me off. It has totally ruined my experience of this place and I doubt I will never go back there again or recommend it.. SAD

Family friendly fish and chip shop. Bright, clean new, modern looking interior. A busyvplace when we attended in the evening. People attending seemed to be known to the owner. Handshakes and positive comments all round. Food was excellent, a mix of fish and chips and a lityle bitcof Mediterranean. Recommended.

Not been back here for years as it isn’t my local but very nicely surprised today with our take away. We had cod and chips and it was really fresh and the batter was crispy and fresh and one of the best I’ve had. The shop was really clean and modern and it was very busy with customers and take away drivers. Lots of staff serving so no long waiting times. Staff were efficient and calm. We will definitely be returning, so nice that it’s worth the journey for a take away or eat in, even though it’s not our most local chippy. I’m quite critical if something isn’t up to scratch but I can honestly say this was one of the best fish & chips I’ve had. Well worth a visit. Highly recommend.

Visited eltham palace and needed a place to get lunch first. Went with my pal and her 4 month year old baby. Lovely place. So friendly!! Can't fault it. They source their fish from billingsgate. Fresh and fried to perfection, but the friendly service was really what made it a lovely memory xxx

Ordered a take away to be delivered but it was missing items. When I called them they said they'd rush the missing items out right away. Never arrived. I'm still waiting now. Staff couldn't care less on the phone. Terrible service for such high prices.

A hidden gem in Eltham. Fancied fish and chips, but wanted to sit down too. Was greeted with a lot more! May even come back here for a date night, we were that impressed.

This hidden gem in Eltham did not disappoint. It comes highly recommended by friends and family. Good choice of fish and meat on the menu, staff were attentive and service was with a smile. We loved the decor and the food was delicious. I had cod and chips, my son had swordfish which came with new potatoes and a good portion of salad. It was delicious. My mum had a smaller portion and it was just right. We will be back.

Great place to go for beer and food, gets very busy between 6+9 roughly, food very good, but a little patience is needed if you sit in and order food ( need another staff member to take orders so your not left waiting for a while) but yes go and enjoy

Great place…. I took a lovely pic of the man with my dogs and something was missing from my order when I got home, as I distracted the man with my dogs 😊. The man delivered the item personally with extra. Food was amazing .

Food was lovely & hot & very tasty, they ask you if your meal was OK, never had that in other restaurants, staff are lovely & friendly, would highly recommend it, my friend & I went on a Monday it was a bit quieter then, Thursday & Friday very busy, enjoy.

I'm from North Yorkshire the fish and chips do compare to the ones from WHITBY on the coast of the North Sea.

Absolutely loved the food.. great quality and plenty of it, just look at the photos for yourself, unless you're super fussy, you won't be disappointed. The best eatery in the whole of Eltham as far as I'm concerned.

I visited with an elderly friend for lunch and we were not disappointed. We both had cod and chips, which arrived steaming hot. Crispy batter and lovely soft fish. Also, a welcoming feeling to this family run establishment. Highly recommended and we will be back

This was an early lunch for the four of us plus toddler. All the staff were really helpful and friendly which is great when you've got a little one in tow. Its a pleasant, comfortable and clean place and the food was good. We all had fish and chips of some description, but everything that was coming out looked good. The prices are reasonable given all the increases there have been in the last couple of years ( I noticed a menu in the photos here...its well out of date on prices). We were eating quite early on the Saturday and it was starting to get pretty busy, so it may be an idea to book.

Food took ages to come out. People next to us had there's and ate and went and we were still waiting. eventually it came out. My husbands rock and chips were lovely, but my salmon was over cooked. Need more staff because they were so busy to even ask a question or want anything else. Not the experience I wanted. Would order a fish and chip take away from them.

On a whim decided to visit,Thank God for whims ,service outstanding food outstanding to me a salad is a garnish ate the lot .Varied menu CANT WAIT to go back .

Takeaway fish and chips are on a different level way above any where else that I have had fish and chips. Excellent couldn't fault it and the staff are friendly and accommodating. All freshly cooked in front of you.

Really friendly staff great food

Used to love this place but unfortunately gone a little down hill especially on last visit. Came here when I was a kid over 35 years ago and loved the quality of food and service. The usual friendly waiter does not appear as often which is a shame as he makes such a big difference and unfortunately today experience was a bit off putting. Took us a while to get served and had to ask if we could order. Waitress tells us give her a minute then comes over and asks if we are ready to order but could only order cod 🤔food was slightly over cooked and fish was a bit watery as seems frozen. When the bill came I noticed was charged for battered sausage and chips when ordered just the sausage which specified twice to just add to fish and chips. I wouldn’t have minded but waitress tried to style it out and said she put extra chips with the fish and chips when clearly it was same as had ordered fish and chips twice 😂 I’m no Del Boy but come on don’t try that one. Might have just been a one off but unfortunately won’t be coming back which is a shame as has been a favourite for so long.

Service was good but twice i had fish and chips but the chips were limp and not fresh .Then they refried the same chips.Very disappointed

Surprised at the choices on the menu really good choice for anyone. All freshly cooked good generous size portions. Kept very clean and tidy. Only downside was a single toilet for all to share. I will be going back again.

The order today was not good, packed very bad - chips on top of the fish which made it very soggy/mushy. Also chips not the best. Have ordered before and always good not today!

We only popped in for fish and chips, but stumbled upon an Elvis tribute night. Great atmosphere and entertainment and the food and drink was great, as always!

Nine of us attended this here for an evening meal last evening. We were all amazed at the choice the menu offered, and the ambiance of the venue. The staff we extremely helpful and polite, and it was obvious that it was visited many times by locals the way the staff talked to them. I personally was stuck what to choice off the menu as the had most of my favourites on it but went for the swordfish in the end which was wonderful and my wife had Rock which you very rarely see nowadays and was equally as good. There was not a morsel left on any plate on our table which just goes to show good the chefs were, and we all left very happy Like to thank all the staff for a very good evening

So good. Huge portions of fresh fish and chips around 14 quid. And you can get a beer too. Also you can get kebabs as well. Very helpful staff.

Eltham Grill is a bit of an institution in Eltham with many long term customers who use it as a regular eating and meeting place. The food and the service is excellent and the prices are good. I meet with family and friends often there and have done for over 40 years.

Phenomenal quality fish — some of the best inland fish and chips I've ever had.

The restaurant is very clean and the decor is tasteful. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the food was exceptional. I would have given 5 stars, but the waitress got a drink order wrong twice. The other point was that the side salad was saturated in vinegaret which was a shame. Overall I will certainly visit again as the fish was amazing!!

When you have a craving for top notch fish and chips then Eltham Grill House is the place to go. So far the best in the area I have tried, the batter on fish is superb, crispy, tasty and not too oily either. Not only do they do great F&Cs, but they're also a grill house serving very delicious grilled fish and meats. The lamb on the combination grill is a must try as it was delicious and very tender. Really good portion sizes and great value for money. The staff are very friendly and efficient and if dining in, the restaurant is a lovely place to be, modern, clean and vibrant. Definitely know one of my favourite local restuarants.

The restaurant is extremely clean and the decor is nice and modern. Always great background music, and on occasions they organise tribute nights. Coming soon is a Buddy Holly tribute night. The food is excellent. The service is very good. Theres a great menu choice and the prices are not expensive. We both enjoyed our beautifully cooked Plaice, I had chips with mine and my mate had salad. The food portions are generous. The staff are a happy bunch and you are made to feel welcome. I can recommend Eltham Grill House without any reservations.

The restaurant is centrally located off Eltham High Street. The restaurant is extremely clean, covid secure, the food is excellent, and the staff are professional and friendly. It was my first visit with a mate, and we were not disappointed. I had large cod and chips, and my mate had plaice and chips; we were not disappointed. The portions were generous, and the food was hot. I had flapjack with ice cream for desert; it was to die for. I'll certainly be visiting again very soon. I've been coming here from when I was a child, my mum was a regular. Place has had a revamp, very comfortable and food always to a high standard. Staff are so so welcoming. They now do live music nights. So if you fancy a meal and a dance to Elvis and other acts you'll be in for a good night!
