Lovely atmosphere and great service. The mixed grill sharing combo starter was fantastic. The Bappa Gost Handi was incredible. The only negative was that the peshwari naan bread was overdone and nowhere near as fluffy as it should have been. Overall, a fine eatery.

Visited with Sherburn Cycling Group as a pre Christmas celebration and social gathering. Food was amazing, I had Chicken Sashlick, cooked well, excellent flavours. Great service, a very enjoyable evening. Nice to see some good zero alcohol alternatives.

Having booked a table by telephone just a little while earlier one evening recently we arrived on foot to be courteously greeted and lead to our table. My sister, who lives in the village, had always assumed that this was a small place. How wrong she was. There was more than enough space for many diners. Any way, after ordering our drinks, mine being a chilled Kingfisher beer in a beautiful glass, I ordered onion bhajis as a starter and the garlic chicken curry prepared at the heat of a vindaloo at my crazy request. And it was spicy hot. Just the way I like it. Throughout the menu we were served by very friendly and efficient waiters and we left fully satisfied. In fact, my sister and her partner were so pleased that, after I had moved on to my next destination, they returned for a repeat performance.

By far my favourite Indian restaurant. Russell front of house always friendly and keeps all the serving staff on thier toes. Good selection of drinks, especially wines and Gins... lots of choice. Food is superb and the team will happily adjust the spice level if you prefer. They also have a few different dishes based around Venison and Fish... booking at weekend advised.

Best Indian food I have ever had and fantastic service.

Hands down, the best curry house in West Yorkshire and up there with the UK's finest. The quality of the food here is top notch and the service is top drawer - special mention goes to Anam who goes above and beyond to accommodate guests.

Well where do I start lol. I'm converted, Love the food, staff fantastic, nice pleasant establishment to unwind and chill out, there's 2 floors, we have been twice now and we give it 10/10. Delicious food, fabulous staff 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Tasty food and friendly staff. You can't say better than that. When we arrived at around 6 on a Tuesday evening the place was empty but soon filled up. With the place full it didn't feel overcrowded as there was plenty of space between tables.

Excellent curry and the best gin bar around. Service is excellent and all the staff are friendly. Lovely cosy place with luxurious food and outstanding drinks.

Well, nothing but positive things to say from me. My husband and I decided to go out for a last minute bite to eat for our anniversary. Nearly every place we phoned were fully booked. Called elmet kitchen and luckily for us they'd a spare table due to someone not turning up. We arrived. Fire was lit and it was lovely and cosy when we went in. Staff were friendly and welcoming. And we were seated quickly despite them being really busy. Drinks order was taken and arrived straight away. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming too, music playing quietly and the restaurant wasn't too noisy. We visit alot of Indian restaurants. And I have to say the pickle tray at elmet kitchen is by far the best we've ever had. There wasn't a drop left! All our food was beautiful, cooked to perfection and super tasty (especially the tandoori King prawns!). Portion sizes were just right. And the price/bill was reasonable. Our waiter was polite and helpful, I asked for his recommendations because I wanted to try something new and he recommended the King prawns. He wasn't wrong about them being lovely! Really nice gentleman :) Overall really pleased with our visit and will 100% be visiting again!

Solid curry. Each dish was tasty and were different to each other. It's not mind blowing but it's far better than 90% of places. Good value too.

Excellent flavoursome and aromatic dishes. Lovely service and really fast. I dropped in and walked out in 15 minutes. Great surroundings by a roaring fire to wait for your curry. The food was excellent. I will be back.

Bit disappointed overall - staff bizarrely not interested in showing us to our table despite appetisers being served on it. Ordered a very well known dish (which I've been eating for 30 years) and it came out tasting exactly like a Korma. I did question this but was told this is how it was. And rather expensive considering the meal we had. Partners curry was nice though. Probably won't return.

I wish I had discovered this jewel before. Such fantastic food at the lowest price. Everything tastes so fresh and authentic I am hont becoming addicted very good service. I love it♥️

Really lovely restaurant. The staff are all very efficient and friendly. The food was wonderful. They were all really good to our baby too and made us feel welcomed. We were in our own little section too which was just perfect and peaceful for us. They looked after us very well. And to top it off a real fire to keep you toastie in the colder darker nights. This was our first visit and would definitely return.

When there for my Birthday 🎂 with my family, its always great food and Russell always looks after his customers and is a truly nice guy.

Over here from Spain to see family close by after 18 months of lockdown. Been here twice in a matter of days. Food superb. Unique flavours. Great service. Best we've had in quite some time. We'll be back next time we're over here. Well done and thanks for a great experience.

Amazing place, food and staff fantastic!!! It's a must visit restaurant

Don't know how anyone can say this place was expensive! For the sublime quality of food and service we got, me and my partner were pleasantly surprised at the final bill. We found this place after getting lost in Sherburn (we're not from the local area) but we will definitely be coming back and the manager was so friendly and welcoming. Delicious food, generous portions and very affordable. Not a bad word to say.

Nice food in a nice place but quite expensive.

Cracking little spot. The food was sensational. Intended only going for a takeaway, but we ended up dining outside in the beer garden. Very friendly and prompt service. Will certainly be venturing back again, without the pooch and car this time, to really enjoy the Kingfisher lager.

Excellent food every time. Always our go-to for an Indian. The chicken pakora starter and murgh rasam main are top-notch.

Curry was good Staff friendly..

After boycotting for a year or so we returned to try again with a fair selection takeaway. The result was this will be definitely our final visit. Meats were so overcooked they crumbled and lacked any sign of flavour, even the onion bhaji were dreadful and ended up in the bin.

Takeaway was beautiful, by far the best restaurant/takeaway in the area, superb taste,ingredients and service 😄

Lovely meal in a nice setting with social distancing measures in place. We've taken advantage of HelpOutToEatOut at several Indian/Asian restaurants and this one has been the best yet and I'd gladly pay the full price.

Really impressed with this establishment, staff allways looking smart, wearing appropriate ppe, food is absolutely delicious. Drove 20minutes each way as wife craved their curry, I had a great Bengal chilli chicken. Will be coming back at least once a month. Cheers Elmet Kitchen

Really enjoyed they food, they accommodated us on a very busy night when other restaurants couldn't. The two of us both thought our dishes were delicious and the service was great. We will definitely be back

First visit to Elmet Kitchen on our way home from Eden Camp. Naturally we were slightly cautious post lockdown but felt immediately at ease as it was apparent the owners/staff were taking their responsibilities seriously and professionally. Tables were set out respecting social distancing, the area for collecting takeaways was clearly marked, signage displayed throughout the restaurant and the front of house staff wearing masks and gloves. This was all achieved without feeling clinical in the slightest.As for the food......wow, really amazing!!! Clearly made to order using freshly prepared ingredients and tender meat.Two of us had the mixed starter, the other onion bhajis. We have a new contender for ‘best onion bhajis ever; really crispy balls with a great sauce on the side. Seekh kebab and chicken tikka on the mixed starters really tender and flavoursome (served with an onion bhaji).Mains were equally delicious; a chicken balti, chicken jalfrezi and Bengal lamb tikka masala. Rice portions were plentiful and the garlic nan had a lovely taste from the tandoor.Whilst we live a 45 minute drive away I can definitely see us returning and would thoroughly recommend.

Small & friendly with a good range of very tasty food.

So, this was our first venture eating out, following the Covid Lockdown. Food fabulous, service excellent, surroundings and atmosphere wonderful. Thank you to the wonderful staff at this fabulous restaurant who work hard to make you feel so welcome.

Good food that is prepared fresh and is authentic curry. Consistently good, limited menu, that regulars enjoy. Gaining in popularity, and more up market than the other curry restraunts around and about. Lovely venue with pleasant staff. Good selection of Gin; served with fresh Rosemary was particularly pleasant to the pallet. Clean and very attentive, can't fault it really; I've been going regularly and I'm not easily pleased. What's not to like. Changed my mind after discovering that, despite offering vegetarian and non vegetarian meals, all products are fried in the same fryer. They are aware of the cross contamination from meat products but there is no mention of this on the menu, did not mention it to the customer when ordering, and they are clear that the onus is on the customer to tell staff when ordering that they want their vegetarian food fried seperate to meat. This includes all fried starters, including Channa Puri, the bread is fried!! Truly shocking. I have asked many times when visiting that there is no meat product in the vegetarian food, it was only when I used the key words of "cross contaminatiorn" that they came clean about their "carefully prepared meals for the vegetarian", laughable. After many years, will I be going back? Hell no.

Nice food, friendly staff and cozy but not chintzy.

Had a takeaway last night and I must say what A gorgeous meal it was, and even better it was delivered to our door at the time requested, thee added bonus was roscoe delivered it. Fab service.

Had a great meal in a really nice setting. Beautiful onion bhaji’s and chicken tikka starters. Had plain naan and house special naan which would recommend. Lovely chunks of chicken breast in our main courses.

Great food not only in restaurant but takeaway too!

A lovely cosy restaurant sitiuated in what looks like an old converted pub. Downstairs had a roaring wood fire and a bar where you can buy drinks. A nice area to wait before being seated. We were seated upstairs and were pleased to see most of the tables were nicely spaced out. The decor was very pleasing to the eye too. Some nice lighting etc. The waiters looked a bit serious and didn't really want to talk all that much. I've been to other restaurants where they make you more welcome and have some good banter etc. The Bengal Brasserie in Leeds centre is a good example of this. The manager/owner however was very nice and friendly and thanked us for coming. Service was extremely slow. About 20 minute gaps between courses. I almost thought they had forgotten to cook the main meal. The place was busy, but that's no excuse!! No apologies as well for the long wait from staff as it was brought out. :-( The homemade food was exceptional though and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Portion size isn't massive, but it's good quality and I had sufficient to eat. Sadly no free complimentary drink on the way out like Bengal Brasserie offers. That would have been a nice touch. Oh, just to mention, parking is a nightmare. So don't expect a space when you get there. We had to drive around the block and park in front of some shops. This was a shame. Would I go again? Definitely, as the food is great. There is still room for improvement though hence 4 stars.

Fab little Indian, service was absolutely excellent & the place immaculate & well ordered. The pickle tray was superb, very fresh & varied. Other dishes were also good & wines by the glass more than palatable.

We love this place that much we have a fortnightly visit. My daughter has also been employed by them as well. Great owner, great staff and amazing food!! Highly recommend!

Absolutely fabulous food and excellent service!

I attended at Elmet Kitchen on a Saturday night as a party of 6. The last time I attended at this location, was when it was the former French restaurant many years ago. I did not know what to expect. I eat a lot of Indian food and I already have a favourite restaurant elsewhere, so Elmet had a lot to proof to me. I was not disappointed, everything from the moment we walked in was outstanding. This was the first time in a long time that I felt the customer service was excellent along with the food. We were able to socialise with our group and ensuring we had a rest between the starters and main course. The gin collection at the bar looked amazing, however I was driving but my choice of sparkling water bottle was so fancy I took the bottle home with me. Great night with my friends to come. Will definitely like to return in the future. All credit to the staff front & back.

Amazing! One of the best restaurants I've visited, the food was brilliant, service was even better and the selection of gin they had was exquisite! They have a gin for everyone dry, sweet, flavoured you name it they have it, don't like gin? They have a selection of wines and lager even a bitter if I remember correctly. They have a few good vegetarian options as well as catering to vegan and celiac (wheat intolerant) dietary requirements. If I could give 6 stars I would!

Love this place. Been several times. So much more then just an indian. Fresh ingredients. Amazing dishes. Owner is lovely. Great choice of Gins. Lovely building too. We bring all our visitors here and they all say how amazing it is!

Still the best authentic Indian cuisine around

Absolutely fantastic!!! One of the best indian restaurants I have eaten in, everything was so nice from the starters onwards. The main courses were spliced to our liking and the starters were very nice also. We were so full, couldn't manage the dessert....

Lovely surroundings, fabulous food and brilliant service. Went for the Early Bird and was reminded just how fantastic Indian Cuisine is when it's cooked and served correctly. From Popadoms to the mains - all excellent.

Good food very sweet no sauce all served on hot plates but worth a visit.
