You have saved my Sundays. No longer do I slave over the cooker on a Sunday morning. We pop in the car and drive to Cathays and visit the staff of Elmer's café on Crwys Road. Nothing negative here! one of the warmest welcomes you will ever receive, the food is great - whatever you have and the staff are the nicest people you can meet. Me, my husband and grand-daughter are so glad we found you. Great value for money and a good old fashioned cup of tea. Keep on serving :)

Full English was great value for money as well as delicious. You may find yourself sharing tables with strangers, but we had no problem with that. Would definitely go again!

Cafe du chat noir ltd

11/12/2018: This is a hidden gem in a little lane off the bustle of Wellfield Road.
01/09/2018: Recommended by a friend recently, managed to visit for lunch today. Amazing , fantastic food and really friendly owner and staff. And found out they do evening meals one a month too! Definitely somewhere I’ll be back to visit for food! The croque monsuier was fabulous, really good flavour and delicious side salad. I didn’t manage to make it out without sampling one of the delicious cakes supplied by a local baker. Glad I did! Awesome! Definitely coming back to work my way through the other menu selections. The soup looked great too.

The Clink Restaurant

10/12/2018: Went out with friends for the 3course.
13/08/2018: Booked in advance and placed our orders also in advance, paying a £15 deposit per person. We did have a change of 1 person in our party so they did change a couple of items in the set menu at short notice, which was great. We had the set menu at £39.99 per person. This menu does change but they will send it to you if you pre book. Not far from the city centre and there’s a large NCP opposite. We were quickly seated and ordered drinks. They do not serve alcohol here so I opted for the mocktail which was lovely and refreshing. All courses were well presented and staff were very friendly. For starters I had the tomatoes and mozzarella which was nice. I also tried the soup, very nice and the duck pate- this was my favourite! Then we had another course of sea bass, very small portion but it was delicious! For main I had chicken in tarragon sauce, I added some salt and this was nice. I also tried the beef which was lovely and the sauce it was served with, which was amazing! I had creme caramel for dessert which was a little weird in consistency but it was made with almond mild but it was nice enough and I tried the chocolate ravioli, dark chocolate so not to my taste. Then we had coffees and petite fours, again dark chocolate so not to my taste. I liked the tip envelope on the table. Overall food was decent enough for the price. We all loved the concept of helping out the prisoners. Would we visit again? Maybe.
