Elm Kitchen Cafe in Woking

We used to love this little farm. But on our recent visit find a lot of the toys are broken (bike s, cars missing doors, toys very old) animals - mainly just ducks and chickens. With the price increase we really don’t think the experience is worthy anymore.

This farm is our happy place and we became regular visitors since last summer. My son really loves it here and is so excited to see all animals or to go and play with toys … we can feed animals anytime and see them closer! There is beautiful family atmosphere and staff are extremely friendly and helpful . As soon as you walk in there is lovely lady at the reception Sophie who is amazing and really sweet ! You can also find lovely gift shop where is very helpful and very friendly lady Donna ! Also they sell fresh eggs from the farm. Absolutely love it and will suggest to all of you ! Prices are good and also lots of parking ! Only one thing we would like to add is more outside toys -or more slides :)

Amazing place, they really love their animals there, staff are wonderful, plants are really nice. Cafe has great food. Great place to go all year round.

Elm farm is such a lovely place to take the children. Staff and warm and friendly. Their provide lovely activities, such as during Easter and Christmas. The cafe provide warm meals and refreshments, with lovely sitting area both inside and out. The shop provides lovely flowers, and plants with a variety of lovely gift ideas.

For the kids in the animal zoo bit brilliant well worth a visit

Had a lovely trip the staff we very friendly and our 3 year old loved feeding the guinea-pigs and chickens. You could also stroke the animals that come up to you so she got to stroke goats and pony's. The Lammas and alpacas were too busy eating the grass to come for a stroke 😀. As others say it's not huge but there is still lots to see. There is also a small play area and sandpit Will definitely be going back and would recommend it to anyone else.

Great place for little ones and good value

We loved Elm Nursery! It's not big but that works in its favour. Our little one loved playing in the play area, feeding the guinea pigs and chickens and looking at the animals. We had a lovely lunch and we will definitely be returning!

Small children's farm which is reasonably priced, a small Nursery and a cafe and farm shop.

Charming family run children's farm. Small but a nice venue for a short trip. Be aware that chickens roam free and are enthusiastic about the food that can be bought for them - be aware that they will jump up and grab bags from smaller children!

Avoid at all costs, a truly awful local business. I asked to use the children's play area for ten minutes as it was raining and I wanted some shelter, there were no adults or children anywhere on the site, it was deserted. I was told by one of the owners that I had to pay £8 to do so and " it was the law"? A rather depressing interpretation of how COVID legislation should be adhered to by small businesses considering the site was empty and my son and I needed to get out of the rain. No discretion, no attempt at explanation, no sympathy towards a dad with his toddler simply wanting to escape the weather for ten minutes, it was as if our presence there was completely resented, which in actual fact is a common occurrence there nowadays. ( The price rise there now is £4 per adult and £4 per over 2 year old, and when you factor in buying bags of animal feed etc it is definitely no longer a value for money excursion/activity). I said as a family we had been regularly visiting for nearly three years, children's birthdays, farm shop, regularly bringing family, guests etc but the owner wasn't interested in the slightest and incredibly raised her voice towards me, a completely disgusting attitude towards customers. I did email that evening to ask for an explanation but never received any response whatsoever which just speaks volumes and so placed this review to warn as many people as possible of what to expect. I would have been more than happy to receive an apology or some form of explanation as to where this behaviour came from but nothing? We are a local family and word of mouth actually counts in an area such as this. Probably the most unpleasant treatment by staff/owners of any business I have encountered for a longtime especially considering that we have just come out of a year of on off Lockdowns and you would imagine that keeping returning customers happy or actually being polite would be a priority but not here sadly. (Mine is not the only incredibly negative experience that day shared to me from another visitor to the farm I might add, the theme is normally being shouted at or having arms waved furiously towards any customer driving onto the site at 1mph over the 5mph limit). We wont ever be returning or recommending this place as a result of this experience and shame on them for how they behaved and for refusing to even acknowledge the email sent to them. If you experience anything similar then please ensure you place a review.

This is a great place to bring my small children for a few hours to spend some time seeing the animals and for me to grab some plants/flowers and bits from the farm shop. Online booking system is easy to use. I always find the staff friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. It is wonderful to see fruit fresh and the colour it should be, unlike some of the large supermarkets! The cafe has lovely food and drinks and has a fab theme to it that the kids love. Milkshakes are amazing! The kiddies birthday party area is well decorated & gets the thumbs up from my little ones. They’re now asking for their next one to be there! At Christmas time they have a large selection of trees as well as a grotto and lovely Christmas inflatables, sleigh etc. In summary this was a great little find during lockdown last year when the supermarkets had queues around the car parks. A refreshing change.

So ein netter Ort! Unsere Tochter liebt es die Hühner zu füttern. Der kleine Shop daneben ist auch toll. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

As a working nanny for many children I have been going to Elm nursery for years. Each year they get better and better and staff are super friendly. Loads for children to do and plenty for the adults ... Cakes coffees and a massive selection of plants and expertise to help you in your garden. It's clean and very well maintained, and can make a full morning or afternoon of it. Def 10 out of 10 ⭐

Elm Nursery is a hidden gem and so much more than it's beautiful home grown plants. The farm with all it's wonderful animals, the farm shop with many goodies to tempt you and the cafe make it well worth a visit. The family that own it are so welcoming. Our Guinea Pigs were bred at Elm and my son even named his after Emma, one of the lovely owners, he was so taken with her. He has special needs and she was so patient and caring with him while he got to know his new pet. We were allowed to visit them until they were old enough to take home. A lovely touch. Thoroughly recommend.

Thank you Elm Nursery for my beautiful pots again this year, you really have done a beautiful job again. I also popped into the shop and grabbed some of those delicious tomatoes, can’t get enough of them 😋. The farm is looking lovely at the moment and really lovely to see everyone out enjoying themselves 🌞

Fabulous place to take your children to support a family run local business . We have been many times and bought from the farm shop and the plant nursery as well as visiting the farm and cafe. A very reasonably priced outing for a family 👪

Very temperamental owners running this business. Genuinely surprised with the last few incidents. Sadly we won't be returning.

It's alrite. Few animals and a play area for kids. Cafe did a decent bite and a top milkshake! Nursery was great, shop was ok. Staff solid throughout - friendly and well mannered. Will definitely visit again for a few hours out with the kid.

Great shop , full of great veg and products but overcharged by 4: 50. Pay attention as their maths isn’t great! Problem quickly resolved within a couple of weeks so I have changed my review from a one star to a four star.

Re visited The Elm Cafe today after they replied to my previous review. Had a warm welcome from Holly who rememebered when we were there. Holly appologised about my recent visit and the not so good bacon sandwich. David cooked my son and I a lovely bacon sandwich today which gets an 8/10 from us. Holly and David thank you so much for our sandwiches today. AND We will be back to visit again xx

Lovely environment to have a snack and a drink. The coffee here is outstanding, and the friendly staff adds up to a great visit.

Best children's farm around. I would highly reccomend to any family wanting a affordable day out. The animals are clearly well looked after and are happy. An added bonus is that the animals are tame and friendly with kids. Cant wait to visit again!

It's a nice place to go to kill a bit of time in the afternoon kids love it and very reasonably priced.

Very modestly sized Garden Centre, and Farm Shop. With a play area and sandpit for younger children. But there are two other excellent reasons for you to visit. Firstly the on site Café usually does great food like fried breakfasts, etc at a reasonable price. Secondly, for an entrance fee of £3.00 per person, you can visit the farm animals. Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Chickens, Ducks, Geese, Goats, Pigs, Alpacas, Shetland Ponies and a Donkey. The kids will love it.

Stopped by today for a bacon sandwich. Advertised as the best of their facebook page.To say i was disappointed is an understatment Very expensive at £4.00.2 slices of bread and 1 slice of bacon. see photo below

I visited the farm there today than when to the cafe for a coffee what a lovely place was told that it was under new management a young couple who have put a lot of effort in to it give it a western cowboy look the kids loved it the food was lovely all fresh nice coffee milkshakes look lovely was told the they are going to do more on there menu has time goes on well worth a visit

Another lovely morning at Elm nursery - good outside play area and great little farm. My 2 year old loves it and nice and enclosed so feel safe to sit and watch her play. Will be taking a pack lunch next time:)

Lovely place for the little kids, the cafe people were really bubbly and lovely for our needs.

Back in March it Was the other half’s birthday and I promised him full English at Elm farm! We’ve been there before and met the new owner Kate it was lovely. Then the dreaded Covid hit and no birthday breakfast was possible. We shall be returning very soon. The food was scrummy the service charming and it was super clean.

Cute animals! Alpacas stole my heart, but other farm animals were nice as well 😊. Plus super tasty eggs which you can buy from shop at the farm.

They look after our pet rabbits when we travel abroad. They are a nice bunch here definitely recommend them for boarding.

Obviously off season but still a pleasant visit - the indoor play area was really grubby (I know it's a farm but might be good to wipe down the tables and chairs). Lovely cafe!!

Very friendly staff with good food in a pleasant setting. Great for kids with the animals outside and a nice picnic area for when the weather improves.

have been here several times, and the food has been delicious every time, from homemade soups, paninis and brunch of avocado smash on toast to coffee and cake. There is a choice of non dairy milk too and vegetarian/vegan options. Shame it closes at 3pm.

I come here with my cycling mates and we are always well looked after. Veggie/Vegan options keeps the whole group happy. Staff are always freindly and helpful even when clearly under pressure.

We used to meet at Elm Kitchen most weekends - lovely location, amazing service, great home made cakes & food and a really welcoming, warm atmosphere. However, we visited a couple of weeks after the new owners took over and we had such awful service that we didn't go back (cold coffee, dirty tables, unwelcoming service). This afternoon we decided to give it another go but sadly it was even worse! We didn't even get a smile and hello when we walked in to an empty cafe. We were served coffee reluctantly and felt very awkward and unwanted; I guessed there had been a busy lunchtime service and the staff just wanted to close up and go home! There were no cakes to go with the coffee and we were not offered to order anything from the kitchen. The cafe smelt of cleaning fluid; we visited at 14.30 on Sunday afternoon so I'm guessing again the staff were closing down but no excuse for poor (if not rude) service. I would never normally give such a negative review as I feel that it's down to everyone to make up their own minds and what suits one may not suit another but I'm so disappointed a business can be so complacent that they don't even extend a little politeness. I'm sure Elm Farm Cafe will regain it's former glory at some point but sadly we won't be returning.

A lovely family run place. My little one loved seeing the animals. The cafe was small so there was a bit of a wait for the table but the food was worthwhile. The lady making coffee was getting a little stressed!

Such a lovely place to introduce little ones to a variety of farm animals, it has a great Tea house serving tasty home cooked food at a very reasonable price ,and a farm shop and nursery.Well worth more than one visit we have been several times and will go again.

Dropped in to visit the garden Center and animal park and decided to stay for lunch. The new owner Kate is lovely! Really chatty and very helpful with local information. We had lovely homemade soup and paninis which were all freshly made and really tasty. The place is really comfy with corner benches and funky decor. Will definitely be coming back and recommend the soups and cakes.

Love visiting this place with grandson, he loves pets corner and feeding the animals. It's got a great play area for the little ones and a cafe. Good parking. Love the farm shop 😍😍😍👍👍👍

We used to love going to Elm Kitchen and the farm and tried it for lunch recently under the new owners. They seem very nice but the coffee was lukewarm, menu not very interesting (a few paninis, brunch only served until 11.30). Coleslaw had too many onions in it. The kids menu also doesn't have much on offer and the kids sandwich was thrown in a bowl. My panini was also not warm enough with the cheese not melted properly. very off putting (and unhygienic) was that the owners dog runs around the cafe and tries to get your attention and owner strokes the dog in between serving food.Didn't try the cakes - didn't look appetising.Needs a lot of improvement.

Friendly, caring and well managed family run business. They take a genuine interest in the well being of the animals and have been so very good and kind for taking in and looking after our guinea pig after her companion passed away.

Great place for the kids, the cafe was always lovely but recently taken over by someone else, haven't managed to get back to try it yet, hope the breakfast is just as good.

We went to the Christmas fayre. Lots of stalls some expensive, the tombola prizes were fantastic. Parking could have been organised better. Children as always loved the farm area.

They just keep expanding the children's activities here - fabulous. Thank you for providing such a lovely area for our kids to visit, play and learn in.

Elm kitchen is in a league of their own... independent, family run business Jacqui and Georgia and the team have created a wonderful oasis in Sutton Green!They only serve home made food to the freshest and highest standards on beautiful plates with a warm welcoming smile!Their home made sausage rolls and scotch eggs and multiple varied cakes have kept my boys (and me!!) going through school and uni!There’s something fresh and exciting every day to enjoy whatever time of day you visit! And they make a mean double macchiato too... delicious coffee every time !!!Their outside catering is always innovative and tasty and exceptionally good value!We will miss you all but wish you every happiness and success in whatever venture you decide upon...keep in touch!☕️

Great little farm for small children

The kids love elm nursery for the "farm" and play. I love it for the great plant choice and friendly staff. The independent cafe on site is marvellous. A good way to spend a morning (or afternoon!)

Really lovely family place to spend an hour or so. My little one loved all the chickens running around. Also my dad got his hanging baskets from there and they look so beautiful, so much better than any garden centre.

Have driven past this place do many times and never been in. However I was prompted to today as I had discovered that there was a little farm and a nice coffee shop.My 20 month old granddaughter adored the farm but we needed some refreshment so we went to the cafe and enjoyed an amazing sausage roll, a slice of cake, a gingerbread bunny and a mineral water. The whole morning cost me around a tenner. Absolute bargain

Lovely way to spend an hour or so. You have to buy tickets for farm bit in farm shop and with cake you can stretch it out a bit although CAFE CLOSED ON A MONDAY!!! Good for an hours entertainment! Sweet little play area for littlies' playdate. We went to Willow's Forest school which is on-site and needs pre-booking to attend. My son loves it!

We often go to Elm for breakfast/brunch. Can’t rate them enough, food is always fantastic, staff are super friendly and it is great to support small family business’ around where we live. All the best Elm. Thank you.

Ideal place to take your toddler to see the animals and play in the sandpit then have a picnic or use the cafe.

Our 4 year old daughter was told she couldn’t eat in the cafe unless she ate food from their own menu. We explained that unfortunately our daughter had severe allergy’s, and that we would be ordering food for ourselves from their menu. We had also just spend £60 in the nursery on plants, and some more cash to feed and see the animals. Nonetheless the lady was adament that she wouldn’t be allowed to eat. A great shame, and very short sighted. We will not return after the experience today.

Visited for a late afternoon coffee, limited cakes left but staff were really friendly and coffee was good. Lovely little play and petting area for young children, it was nice to see them pottering around. Flowers looks healthy but a little overpriced. they also offer a service where they refill your hanging basket, not sure of the cost but the baskets looked really full and pretty.

We visited the little farm zoo the garden centre has and thought it be rude not to eat here. They were very child friendly, very accomodating and the food was excellent.

Elm Kitchen is a great place for a lunch. We’ve been here few times. We had different dishes. All absolutely lovely. Fantastic menu for children. Cakes are homemade and delicious. I love that I get my tea in a beautiful cup. Ladies are lovey and friendly.One negative toilet floor is a hazard. Lino is ripped and my daughter tripped twice on it.

Visited here recently as had seen it mentioned in Facebook.Given we’ve always lived locally we had never heard of this place - what a great find.Good selection of drinks and cakes, the breakfast and lunch menu also looked really good - we will definitely be back.

We cycled here from the Wey Navigation tow path, which is close by. Excellent cooked breakfasts and good coffee. Popular with cyclists. Tables inside and out. Plenty of room to park bicycles.

We had a tea party here for a friends hen do and honestly the food was unbeatable! It was all held outside as the weather was on our side and the garden/ pick-nick area was decorated so nicely! Would highly recommend popping in for a visit

Elm Nursery is always worth a visit, it's a Family run business, everyone there very helpful & friendly, it certainly is worth going out of your way to go there, please give it a try!!!!
