Elliot's Bistro in Coleraine

Took my wife out for her birthday lunch and had very good food and service at a reasonable price. Would recommend.

Just back from staying at the Lodge Hotel for the weekend and could not fault anything as always Great food +great staff+great service NO matter when I have to leave i cannot wait to go back

Stood at the bar, 2 servers coming and going never even acknowledged me so after around 2 minutes I just left it. After my lunch I asked for a coffee, never came so just left. It wasn't busy at all as it was coming near the end of lunch service. The staff seemed to be more interested in chatting to each other. Disappointed.

Very nice good food great service

We booked our table easily online. Good food options on the various menus - we chose the buffet. Carrot and lentil soup was lovely and the buffet spread was fantastic and very tasty. The Chef was very pleasant and gave a good serving. There was a good variety of soft drinks that were reasonably priced. Best Carvery I have had this year. We will be back!

Staff are great, service is great, and the restaurant itself is warm cosy and well laid out. My husband and I used to eat here once or twice a month for many years, however we've only been twice over the past couple of years, as the food is just not the top notch it used to be, I'm certainly not suggesting it's terrible, just bland and not worth the cost any longer. We called into Elliot’s Bistro, which is beside The Lodge Hotel in Coleraine for dinner. Staff were very friendly & helpful. They let us see the menu & asked us if we wanted a drink. We then gave them our order & they asked us if everything was okay for us. Elliot’s Bistro is located beside The Lodge Hotel on The Lodge Road area of Coleraine & has free parking for your car. A fantastic carvery but it can be quite busy with the coaches. Not a large selection of meat's but the roast beef was lovely.

My grandson gives this place 5*s says it should b more than 3*s . Waiters was amazing with him as he has autism. An he truely enjoyed his first sit in meal as lobg time .

Had lunch today. 3 adults and 2 kids. Wife (who's veggie) ordered veggie chilli with a side of rice. All orders arrived at the same time but wife's order was wrong. It came served on a naan bread with no rice. Explained this to the waitress who looked puzzled and proceeded to take the whole dish away when all we really needed was a side serving of rice adding. 20 minutes later when most of us were nearly finished our meal we started to wonder why it was taking so long just to add some rice, when a different waitress came back with...a chicken dish for my wife. Wrong again. This time when we explained that this food was also wrong and what it should have been we were given no apology. That dish was taken away - and my wife got a rather obvious disgruntled look from the waitress (as if it was our fault that the food was wrong again). This was noticed by her and another member of our party. 15 minutes later when everyone else had finished eating their food, the correct dish was served so my wife ended up eating alone. Manager was made aware of the problems as when we paid at the end he apologized which was appreciated. We were offered no gesture of goodwill for the party having to wait twice for the correct meal to be served and for having to eat separately. Food was very good 8/10 - zero complaints there. Service was very poor 2/10 - sadly we won't be returning because of that. Hence what I believe is a fair review considering the above.

My experiences here are always good. Awsome cavery selection of expertly cooked food. Plenty of it and served to you efficiently and friendly. Well laid out and run place i call to at dinnertime and very good value for the quality.

Had a nice light lunch reasonably priced , they do a roast lunch which seemed to be very popular. I will go for it next time I visit.

Elliots Bistro never disappoints, food is always good & reasonably priced, lovely surroundings and staff are very helpful and friendly without being intrusive, well worth a visit.

We live in South East England for a big part of the year and cannot find a pub or resturant to compare with the texture and flavour of the steaks that are so consistent each time we visit. Not only the meals but the friendliness and proffessional of the staff. Thank you for so nice a welcome and such a lovely meal. Our compliments to the Chefs, Management and staff. Will be back soon. We had a lovely Sunday lunch for the family here. The service was excellent, attentive and courteous. I had chowder for starter which was nice, perhaps a little heavy on the sweetcorn and potatoes, and light on fish. However it was tasty and I enjoyed it The carvery was a triumph. There was a diverse choice. I had roast beef with Yorkshire pudding and a lovely beef and Guinness pie. There was an array of vegetables and lots of other meat dishes including a ham and turkey pie with cranberry sauce and topped with cubed potatoes which I am assured was delicious.I'm not a great fan of carverys but I really couldn't fault this, it was clean, well presented and the food tasted great. It was also good value.Highly recommended.

The time it took to take are order and then get the food was long and had to ask twice for the sweet menu. The restaurant wasn't full and was midweek so don't know why things are so slow but the food when it did arrive was delicious

We ate in the newly modernized Elliott's Bistro.We all had starters which we all really enjoyed but the main course's where a bit of a let down considering the starter's where so good.My wife had a Romaneo Chicken dish which came with a sauce which was more like a pesto spread on top of it.The chicken Penne Pasta was not very creamy and looked a bit greasy.There was seven of us and none of the main courses where very good apart from My daughters chicken coujoun'sProbably just teething problems after just getting opened up again after lockdown.Could do with probably puting a good old pepper chicken and a few of there old dishes on the menu again.o

We really enjoyed our meal at the Lodge hotel. The food was superb and the new decor was beautiful. The service was excellent.

An excellent bistro with a wide range of locally sourced dishes and a staff who are most helpful. We had the “early birdl selection which was both really good value and very tasty!

We always eat here in the evening when we visit. It’s always busy and there is a good atmosphere here. They do a great carvery too!

We ate of the 2 course menu which is excellent value and can highly recommend the stack of ribs delicious and falling of the bones with a delicious bbq sauce.

We had a meal here, unexpectedly, after attending a (boring!) meeting; this changed the overall impression of the evening for the better! We were greeted in a warm and friendly manner, comfortably seated and given a wide-ranging menu. We chose well and enjoyed out meals and the evening, despite the earlier disappointment.

We dined here one evening during our stay and all mine people enjoyed their food. Portions were enormous so there was no chance of anyone leaving hungry. The staff were very friendly and helpful even after being on duty at a Gala Ball the previous night.

Came here the other night for dinner and its been a while since we ate here and as usual it didn't disappoint. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was great. The menu was good and the food was absolutely delicious. Worth a visit!

Princess and I are staying at The Lodge Hotel in Coleraine for a couple of days for Princess' birthday. The Lodge is our favourite hotel but this review is for Elliots Bistro. A wonderful restaurant for a carvery lunch or a lovely dinner in the evening. There is a great choice of food and the quality and size of portions is excellent. We had dinner in our usual wee table for two in the quiet section of Elliots. The service is first class, friendly and attentive staff without being too fussy. Princess'birthday and the restaurant played happy birthday while lighting a candle on a scrumptious Bailies and strawberries cheesecake. Just a wee touch to make the night special. Thank you all at Elliotts. No surprise then that I can wholeheartedly recommend Elliots Bistro if you are looking for somewhere special over Christmas for a meal and a night out at there is great entertainment on in The Lodge Hotel, so why not stay over for a night or two as well, you won't be disappointed.️

We are regular visitors to this restaurant and to date, the quality has been excellent. We visited on 19 August and chose a variety of main courses. I had a "super salad" with chicken which was really good. However my daughter chose the strip in dip chicken goujons with sweet potato fries. Unfortunately the side dish was luke warm and quite unappetizing and the chicken goujons were overdone. My wife had chosen the same main dish with chilli cheesy mash. Like my daughter, she also found that the chicken was overdone and lacking in flavour. The mash which has always been a favourite, was bland and lacking in chilli and cheese! We also had to wait for approx. 40 minutes to be served. We were sitting in a crowded area and didn't want to raise the issues, in order to respect the other diners. Overall, very disappointing and definately not up to your usual standards. Could do better!

Once again everything was superb, food, service and nice atmosphere. We were there midweek so can’t comment on music.

Beautiful meal, we had off the early bird menu, soup, steak and then dessert, paying the supplement for the steak.

We stopped at Elliots after a hard day at the British Open. We were cold, tired and looking for some comfort food. We were not disappointed. I had an adequate pasta dish but my husband ordered the ribs. The portion was so huge that he ate his fill, I helped and we still took home a huge container. The meat fell off the bones and the sauce was delicious. Service was a bit slow because it was very busy but the young staff was very accommodating and the prices were unbelievably low compared to other restaurants we visited in the area. Great value for money.

Great place to eat, meals are lovely no matter what you order. The Panna cotta dessert with shortbread is gorgeous. Would dine here every night if we could!

had the early bird menu on the first night of a two night stay was of high standard our only regret was we chose to try somewhere different on the second night

Lunch in the bistro on a Bank Holiday Monday. Busy, but we were quickly seated. We chose the carvery for one and the super salad for the other. The salad was just a small bowl of what looked like rice salad, which was not at all what we expected, so we sent it back.

Have been here many times but today the service was very slow. Food was ok but the garlic fries were swimmng in tasteless butter (not garlicky). The chilli cheesy mash was delicious and the desserts weren’t bad either. Gets very buys which is why I think the service was sooo slow today.

This is attached to The Lodge Hotel. The staff were friendly. The food was fantastic. The soup of the day was lovely but the main star was the beef and yoirskire pudding in a Guinness gravey. The lunch food was also lovely

Went here with friends on the Wednesday for the "carvery". We queued and were "greeted" with 2 female servers, not too pleasant. Although it was supposed to be a carvery you are restricted to one main dish. There was veg and granola at the end of the line. Left overs from breakfast! Looked like a pile of slop on the plate and the food was salty and did not taste great. We had sampled the same experience the previous month but on a Saturday. Then there was 2 male servers who were more pleasant and the food selection then was better. Wouldn't go back for their carvery, far better places to eat in Coleraine, Portrush, Portstewart. The Lodge can't be doing that great when they have to advertise on Q radio!!!!!"! The Bushtown Hotel know how to do a great mid week and weekend carvery.

My pizza's pineapple was straight from a can, the tomato sauce tasted like barbeque, and the ham was pulled ham. Not bad, not great, a good average pizza.

Love, love, love coming here for dinner when I am up on the North Coast. The food is fabulous and the staff are so helpful and friendly. Something on the menu for everyone. The two courses with tea/coffee for £13.50 is a great option. Never had a bad meal here...looking forward to my next visit! Thanks to Victor Boyd and Adam Ramsey for looking after us this week.

Friendly staff are off the special tea time offer menu. Good food in quality and quantity. Would definitely go again.

Our deal was for a main course each evening from a select menu. There was enough choice on it for us and everything we ate was very nicely presented and tasty. I am sure if we wanted to have anything off the main menu it wouldn’t have been a problem and we would have paid the difference.

Been going here for years.... Great place, friendly staff, very comfortable but food nowhere near as good as it used to be. Went for the lunchtime Carvery and left disappointed; the roast potatoes in particular where so bad I'm surprised they were even served here. I hope the hotel can sort this issue out as we would not be in a rush back for this reason only.

Starters were tasty and well presented. For our main we both ordered the Gammon which we have had before and enjoyed but this time we were disappointed as it was a little tough and dry.

My landlord recommended this place to me and I was not disappointed. It is a popular place with families- both young and old. So may not be the best place for a quiet romantic evening!

Great menu. Lovely food. Large choice with something to suit everyone. The bacon & leek sauce is superb Highly recommended.

Ate here during our stay both nights and food, service and staff were all 5*. Great choice of menu, and desserts were excellent especially the ice cream sundaes. Worth a visit if your in the area.

Went to Elliot's for dinner and a cocktail as part of our deal when staying in the Lodge Hotel. The offer included two courses and one cocktail.

After our day of traveling Northern Ireland, we decided to stop in the town center of Coleraine for dinner at a pub. All the places we went into were not serving dinner on this Tuesday evening, but one place recommended the Lodge Hotel. So we came here for dinner. I thought some of the prices were a little high. But we found acceptable options and had dinner. I had a burger and my wife had a chicken sandwich.

my wife and I had a beautiful meal and the service of the staff made the meal even more enjoyable we will be back again for sure.

Have never failed to enjoy meals served in this bistro and the courteous service provided by all staff.The bistro is just one bit of a very homely atmosphere provided throughout this 3 star hotel which merits a higher rating even without pool, gym or spa.It more than makes up for lack of leisure facilities by service, cuisine, room comfort and smart management evident throughout the hotel, thank you to all staff for another enjoyable short stay.

We visited Elliot’s Bistro for lunch and it’s hard to find fault with it. The carvery is excellent with a good range of choices and your portion sizes certainly aren’t small.The lady serving at the carvery was pleasant as indeed were all the staff.There is also a lunchtime menu with again a good choice of dishes.We have visited this restaurant several times now and I really cannot think of anything negative to say about it,we always leave there pleased with our visit.

Always offers great range of choice, prompt service and great food. Bistro restaurant within the Hotel. Never disappointed regardless of food selection.

We stayed at the Lodge Hotel and dined in Elliot's Bistro. We were shown to our table quite quickly and our first drink followed. We were then told what "wasn't available" from the menu. A few moments after placing our order, we were then told that one of our ordered meals wasn't available either. We eventually got our food, well prepared, but the wait to get a second drink was ages. All in all, the food was good, and the service let the Bistro down.

Called in to the lodge the other night and my husband and I ordered a pizza between us with 2 her by fries and we were both absolutely stuffed I don't know how one person could eat it on their own Really good value The staff are all lovely and very helpful Good place to eat

Always assured of excelleny selection at lunchtime carvery. Lovely food and extensive salad bar available. Pleasant staff and surroundings..can't beat it.

Food was amazing place was buzzing, staff was really friendly.. myself and my partner came from derry to eat there. My sister and partner came from belfast.. we enjoyed it that much our dad bought us vouchers for Xmas. Looking forward to going back again

The Sunday carvery is a very good experience here. Unlike many other places you can have just the main course if that's all you want. The food is well prepared and served with a smile. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere is good. we shall definitely return.

Nachdem wir feststellen mussten, das es in Coleraine praktisch kein Pub Food gibt, haben wir hier gegessen.

My wife and I were staying at the hotel but wanted to eat at a pub. However, it seems most pubs are no longer serving food. So after a long walk to town to find a pub, we were referred by the pub (and a patron who was a chef) back to the restaurant in our hotel.
