First time in this restaurant and I can say I will come back. Service excellent, staff really nice and the food was delicious

First time we'd been for a while. Really busy on Saturday afternoon but service great. Food spoiled by potatoes which were a bit dry. However, Youvetsi and lamb chops magical.

First time visit with friends to this excellent greek restaurant in the heart of George Sq close to Queen St.Rail Station at the opposite end from Glasgow City Chambers.Huge menu for both food and drinks.Daily specials board.Old fashioned traditional Taverna atmosphere.Staff were really friendly and helpful with menu explanations.Presentation and quality of food were both excellent. A very satisfying dining experience in traditional greek style.Thoroughly Recommended.😊

Food definitely has the flavors of Greece, although presentation could have been better, on our visit staff could have been more attentive as once our food arrived NOT one member asked if everything was good ,part of our order missed. Removed from the bill. We won't be rushing back.

The staff are brilliant, and the food is very good.

Delicious food and wine, and so reasonably priced. My friends and I, had a great catch-up and were not rushed by the helpful staff.

In for a quick lunch, good quick service and the food was very good. With adequate portions for a lunch. Happy to return anytime.

A gem in the heart of Glasgow, authentic Greek food, must visit

First time visit. A busy Saturday. Ordered a few things. House red - almost drinkable Greek wine , didn't finish it Tyrokafteri - very nice Haloumi cheese - was so-so, tougher than expected Spanakopita - the best thing we eat Chicken souvlaki - very good Fried courgette fritters - thick slices coated in too much batter and spent far too long in the frier - inedible - sent back (they did take it off the bill). Not long ago I spent 10 weeks touring all over Greece so know what great Greek food should be. This though all had that feeling of being a bit city centre average fair. Not very Greek. Try Fava in Edinburgh. Chef is from Thessaloniki - on a different level to this place!

Starter meatball they were really dry. Deep fried cheese came with a bit of lemon and nothing else tasted nothing like deep fried cheese in Greece been there many times. Moussaka was nice came with lettuce at the price think chips should be included. Mixed grill everything flung on plate like dogs dinner chips looked terrible but we're ate because person hungry. Everything was rushed wouldn't return try other greek restaurants.

Absolutely first class meal with friends in this fantastic restaurant. Alexandra and her colleagues looked after us on arrival and the atmosphere in this wee gem of a place is special. The choice of starters, main courses and desserts is outstanding and the location right in the centre of Glasgow takes some beating.

My friend took me here as I had not really tried Greek food, it was fine, the service was good and it is in a great area, the food is basic and I guess tasty enough, for me just not to my taste, but of.you like Greek food you may love it.

I'm sorry I'm telling that but it was my worst experience in my life , I'm greek I was happy to join the restaurant but the waitress, a Romanian lady was so rude it wasn't busy at we was standing more than 6 min waiting for someone and we took the menus by ourselves, the waitress started shout at us telling us that it was just 2 people at the shift but they had just one table with customers. We left in the end very disappointed 😞

Food as authentic as any Taverna we have eaten in while on holiday on Crete every year.

I booked a table for a birthday dinner at 7pm on a Sunday. We had 5 starters and 4 mains. A bottle of Prosecco to share, two cocktails and a pint. The food is delicious and the table service is excellent. Total bill was £153 excluding a tip. Very good value for quality dining.

Arrived early for our booking, was told "no, you're too early", waited outside to eventually get our table that was free the whole time we had been waiting. Menus put down on table before we'd even got our coats off and sat down. Jug of water was brought to the table, no ask of if we wanted anything else to drink. Waited about 20 minutes for somebody to come over. Again, didn't ask if we wanted to order drinks, we ordered our food and then had to ask for drinks. Food was ok, calamari was a bit cold, chicken souvlaki came with 1 bit of pepper, couple bits of onion. Chips were soggy and bland, a few leaves with a drizzle of dressing. Won't return.

Its a Fantastic Restaurant. We have been here a few times before but hadn't been for a long time.We ordered the Calamari and Chicken meatballs for starters.They were smashing. Then I had the pork souvlaki and my Fiancee had Moussaka. When they were brought out the smells took me back to holidays in Crete.Just amazing.The Service and Atmosphere was lovely. Nice and chilled and not rushing to get you out the door. We will definitely be back again.

Friendly and attentive staff, great food. For lunch, 2 small plates each was enough, but that made it very difficult to choose from such a great selection. Very relaxed atmosphere, nobody rushed us. Will definitely go back. Sorry, no photos, too busy eating.

Service is excellent. Friendly and attentive staff. Food is delicious. We are vegetarian so choice is limited. But we had feta and green salads along with baked feta, grilled halloumi and tsatsiki with Pitta. Plenty to eat and all great.

La comida riquísima me encantó todo muy bien elaborado y los platos con bastante comida. Nosotros fuimos sin reserva pero al ir con tiempo nos buscaron un hueco, la verdad tuvimos suerte ya que normalmente los lugareños suelen reservar antes. Los camareros muy a.ables yo apenas hablo inglés pero no tuve problemas ya que una camarera hablaba un poco de español fue muy amable y tuvo mucha paciencia con nosotros!!!

Lovely place with good menu selection. I did think the garlic bread and chips were a bit disappointing but the brilliant cocktails made up for it. My friend chose this place because she is a vegetarian and the options here far exceed most other places for vegetarians.

Been a few times. I recommended it also. Although friends often said the service was poor. The last time I went I had the same experience. Poor service , very slow, and unintrested. I also found the food to be average at best. Ordered the hot mezza for two. More dips than food to make it look like it’s a lot. The beef Stefado’s was nice, the rest was forgetable. I love Greek food, I also love Greek people . This place showcases neither.

Popped in for lunch having read great reviews very disappointed and pricey staff looked as if they couldn't be bothered

Upon arrival we were met by an extremely abrupt and rude individual. We advised we had booked for 7pm (we arrived 5 minutes before) only to be barked at that "it isn't 7yet you'll have to wait". Understanding the rules of engagement we tried to take it as a stressed out waitress and enjoy the taste of Greece. Once seated we were spoken to in such a dismissive tone, menus thrown on the table like an angry toddler having a fit. At that stage our angry toddler of a waitress made a comment to my partner, speaking down to her with such a disrespectful manner. I felt disgusted that anyone in that role would be so combatant. I stepped away from the table and asked the waitress politely to stop. We left. Such a disappointment of service. Greece would be ashamed as it was far from "authentic greek"

I really like the decor and the ambience of the place. Service wise the waiter was impatient however it was our fault and I am very sorry, but the waitress were really nice! The food was ok, had the chicken souvlaki and it was very dry had to order a side of sauce to eat it with. Had the calamari and spanakopita for starter and they were excellent!

We went here for our staff Christmas Dinner, great service and as always the food was amazing.

We were back again at Elia's and the food was as good as ever. It was a great place to meet up with family pre-Christmas and we had such a great time. Friendly and helpful staff. Will be back again.

Food is very basic, definitely prices are not justified. Souvlaki comes with no pita or any kind of dip, pastitsio was lazily made, totally bland, the mince was dry and tasteless and the cream heavy and tastless as well.

Great place good food great prices very friendly staff

We dined here today for lunch and we’re so glad that we picked Elia! Location is very central and is opposite the Christmas Market on George Square. We had a friendly greeting and were seated straight away even though the restaurant was busy. We opted for the Meze for Two which consisted of starters, mains, desert and coffee all for £58. The dishes were all chefs choice apart from the desert which we could choose. We enjoyed every single dish and got to try things that we may never have ordered. Great service from the waiting staff too. Overall very happy with our visit and will come back.

Terrible terrible terrible. I recently visited ELIA GREEK in Glasgow, and unfortunately, I was disappointed with the management. The service was subpar, and there seemed to be a lack of attention to customer satisfaction. The issues I encountered left a negative impression on what could have been a better dining experience. I hope the management addresses these concerns to improve the overall quality of the restaurant.

Got the lunch menu. If you don't go A La Carte the servings are a deal smaller but that's I suppose us to be expected. Drinks are on a par with the other restaurants in Glasgow...too expensive!

Good is ok , being Greek I explained a Greek salad when I saw salad served with my meal but I got leaves only with balsamic vinegar. I was not impressed. My husband ordered vegetarian moussaka and it wasn't nice.

The food at Elia Greek was absolutely fantastic, so tasty and a great menu variety. The booking process on the other hand was not good at all, frustratingly after taking my online booking confirmation to the restaurant, I was told this wasn't a final confirmation and therefore hadn't secured a table, very confusing as to me a confirmation is a confirmation! Despite the booking hiccup, the stellar food ultimately made the overall experience worthwhile so I would still recommend (just call to confirm your booking first!)

We ordered the £30 sea food platter for 2. VERY disappointing. Everything was deep fried in batter. We got mussels that were shrivelled and tasteless. Rubbery squid and strange deep fried little fish all with a mayonnaise and fish pate dip.... there was basically no fish..awful 🙁

First time I've been here and the food was amazing absolutely delicious. I thoroughly recommend it as the service from the young man who served us was impeccable.

£23.00 for kleftiko main. Served with rice or potato, asked if I can have small half portion of both, but refused, no reason.. Ordered chips but didn't come.. Unfriendly, unhelpful staff.. Food mediocre

Just past here .and was not going to go in . I thought why not treat myself . I'm glad I did. Got out of.fhe cold and the mixed grill was really tasty. I don't go to restaurants very often . Would come back

Worst restaurant I have ever visited

One of my favourite dining establishments and maybe the best Greek in Glasgow. Terrific food, reasonable prices, and excellent service. Worth booking.

We waited 50 minutes for literally 6 pieces of pork (sold as per souvlaki) hard and dry of which we paid £14.50 per plate. We will never come back here. They cheat us once, not twice.

Never had a less than excellent experience in Elia and this visit was no different. Lovely servers , lovely food and wine. The house wine is always to my taste and the food perfectly cooked. It's such a nice, bright and open area too so always pleasant to linger over another glass of wine or a coffee and no pressure to leave.

It's really tasty and delicious food , especially desert

Had a very nice lunch on Sunday there: an entre and a main just for £14. Had a very nice tzatziki and a 🐔 skew. Quite basic but nice. Ahhh and the offer 🫒 and bread as a compliment. The service was nice, friendly and prompt.

Lovely meal in a nice restaurant. Dolmathes and Moussaka were good. Dropped a star because it was heated in the microwave (I believe). We will definitely be back.

Waitress took our order, never saw her again until we waited for the bill, food was warm when it got to the table after waiting for a long time.

My first time to try this restaurant. The waiters were respectful and nice. I ordered Dolma: very good Dakos: in the menu it says it's made with dried tomatoes but mine was made with cold fresh ones. I didn't like it that much since the bread underneath became soggy. Lamb and chicken sovlaki: delicious.

Beautiful, fresh food. I've been wanting to try here for a while and so glad we finally did. Service was good and we were given complimentary bread, olives and oil, which was nice. My only complaint would be for starters we ordered hummus and tzatziki which came on big plates, we were given 1 pitta between 2 people. I feel for the amount in each starter we could have done with a pitta each. We would definitely return.

As I visit Greece every year the food here is as good as anything I've tasted there. Friendly staff and fast service, even when they're busy. Will keep coming back ! ( I recommend the stifado !).

Starter of Hummus and Taramasalata was excellent. Main course was just ok, chip looked days old and had been reheated.

One of the worst services I've received within a restaurant. Waiting long periods for drinks and 30 mins plus for main course. Food is particularly tastless with not so very big portion sizes also. Waiters particularly stay within the same area all night, and don't move around their whole restaurant, checking tables. No basic waiter training, such as asking how the food is, if you had enjoyed it. So we decided to not bother with desserts due to no one willing to ask if we would like to see a dessert menu. We just totally felt ignored the entire time we were there.

Superb Greek restaurant, right in the heart of Glasgow city centre. Excellent value! Had the meze platter for 2 which is ridiculously great value. Everything was very tasty, from the dips to the meats, moussaka, breads and baklava and coffees! Service from one man in particular was brilliant. Very knowledgeable and friendly, giving great advice and information. The younger servers are a lot less interactive and can learn a lot from him, but it's the only reason for 1 less star on the service.... Certainly a 5 star place overall! We'll be back soon!!!

You can smell the delicious food before entering the restaurant! We tried the lunch menu which have a good amount of options already. The dolma is really tasty, so are the tzatziki with pita bread. I had the lamb souvlaki and its sooo tender, cooked literally to perfection, the portion size is pretty big, thoroughly enjoyed that. My friend ordered the Smyrneika, the meatballs are nice but a bit salty, the sauce is amazing tho. The service is great, they had a large menu and plenty seatings, will definitely come back to try more food! Highly recommend this place!

I am Greek. The food was terrible and expensive for the quality they offer 😔. In addition to the owner's reply. I dinned yesterday and we had the stifado, moussaka and kleftiko. The food was microwaved. It's even more frustrating that you don't accept a bad and honest review. Maybe that explains why your food tastes like that
