I came to Eli Jenkins to scout out the local area and see what pubs are about and I can say the service and attendance in here is exceptional, your 2 bartenders Tyrone and Owen are amazing, fast with their, polite and attentive couldn’t ask for more, definitely deserve a raise! Great atmoshpere and great staff, couldn’t recommend any higher to any mates or family

Barmaid was friendly, several tv's showing sport, power banks to hire to charge your phone. I would not class this as family friendly. Group of men swearing profusely in the corner, with one of them vaping INSIDE. Not many people there at all but still got food so burnt it was deeply black in colour and would have stunk before they got it out of oven with the smell of burning so why serve it? We quietly advised that it was too black to eat. The barman said he likes his "crispy". Heaven help his stomach if he eats like that 😱😱more food was made, but some of my pizza toppings were put on raw (onion and peppers) Doused in too much garlic. Couldn't even touch one to eat it so boxed and offered to a homeless person who said they didn't mind garlic. I'm honestly still feeling sick hours later. Sad really I really wanted to like it. For the money I expected better ☹️

Average pub, quite dirty in fact: tables never cleaned between two customers, noisy, slot machines. Decent choice of draft beers. Small courtyard at the back where you can smoke.

Always a warm welcome good beer and lovely food. Will be back! 🙂

Horrendous. Visiting from Canada with my Granddaughter and I've never been spoken to so rudely in my whole life. Everytime I bring her home we always have lunch at the Eli Jenkins. We were shouted at and driven out of there in a very disturbing way. Apparently they weren't open. If they weren't open how were we able to go in? The gate was ajar, the padlock was there but not in use,surely it should have been locked. He was yelling at us and shrieking about having money out. We were escorted out like criminals. I'm still shaking. I am embarrassed to come from Cardiff and feel so awful that my Granddaughter had to witness that. What an impression for visitors and tourists. Never again!

Great little spot just over a mile from the Principality stadium, it wasn't as busy as the town centre pubs, which we loved. You could served! Food was good and decent prices too on match day. Big screen to watch the game. Taxi ranks outside to get you to the stadium or half hour walk

In Cardiff on business. I did a bit of a solo crawl of some Cardiff Bay pubs and bars early in the evening of a cold dark Wednesday in January. The Eli Jenkins was the ONLY place with any kind of atmosphere and a genuinely warm and friendly service. Well done chaps!

Great pub food and drink with lovely, helpful staff. Came with party of 10 last night for my sons 18th Birthday. Tyrone, Owen and Jack were so helpful and welcoming, making it a really memorable night for us. Thanks so much guys, we'll definitely be back soon!

Had the utter pleasure to come here last night and had a couple of drinks with new friends, the customer service by the lovely Jenna was exceptional and again at lunch time today with Milo my fur baby … great team and atmosphere and such a lovely spot on the bay … keep up the sterling work ..

I've drank here for over a year, sampling the Stella's back in the day, the Madris, the Punk IPA's. But big man Jac, the man with the attack, poured a Guinness that rivalled the warmth of meeting an old friend on a summer afternoon. 12/10, give him a high five.

A very nice rump steak served here. I ate in a quiet peaceful atmosphere at lunch time. Will definitely be back.

Went to this venue with some friends. This is a popular venue in Cardiff bay. Popular meet up point for people after work etc. There is a nice spacious outside seating area. It was busy but found some seating. Got served quickly so always a bonus. This venue shows sport events on TV around the interior so I find it loud with that. I have been here a few times but its not really my kind of place personally but you ofter will see a face you know.

Nice atmosphere and good choice of ales. Plenty of TV screens for the big sporting events. Good food too!

St Patrick's RC primary had a school trip with 60 children. Eli Jenkins welcomed the children into their cosy pub garden so the children could eat their lunch! So kind of them. Jenna looked after us all making sure children had somewhere to sit and happy. Would highly recommend visiting here. Nice to see a local business being so community minded and welcoming! Will be returning.

I have over 15 years experience of this pub, I have seen it through refurbishment and the funky sheds. But at its heart it's a pub pub.

We had lunch here a couple of times during our stay in Cardiff Bay. Typical pub food but very good and reasonably priced. Plenty of beers and spirits to chose from. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

Great atmosphere, and the food was excellent. We will definitely be back and the rugby on too, made our night.

Though a nice visit, no children menu was offered, nearly £5 for a small pot of nachos to share, and for 2 adults and 1 child it cost nearly £50, only my husband ate his meal.

Table was sticky and obviously uncleaned from night before. Food was hot and tasty. Service was great.

Excellent service, food was exactly what I asked for double gammon with egg, good value for money. I’m been here a few times in the past and never really had a bad experience ( ok difficult when busy, but I think that goes with reputation). I was a little concerned when I saw the negative reviews but it’s a shame more people don’t give the positives

Avoid with all costs. Food over priced, burnt, inedible and customer service shocking. Had steak...chargrilled but it just tasted burnt all way through. Told man behind bar and he just shrugged his shoulders. Kids pizza was underdone on bottom and burnt on upper side. Crispy prawns were solid prawns. Waste of money. Should have gone to Tesco express opposite for a meal deal. Will never go back.

Good pub with £3 per drink happy hour

Drinks OK👍, lovely atmosphere👍, food expensive and very disappointing 😞 Both my husband and I had cheese and bacon burger, not much taste, burgers were a strange colour, lukewarm and the fries not very nice at all. This was our first visit, I would go back but would not eat here again 🙁

Popped in while out and about in the bay but shame we bothered! Ordered some of the small plates and it took an hour to arrive - no one came to let us know about the wait and staff clearly avoided us as they knew how long it had been! Wasn’t particularly busy to even warrant the wait. When the food did arrive it was poor, kicking chicken bites just tasted entirely of butter, dirty fries had about a fingernails worth of cheese on and the quesadilla looked like it had been whipped up in about a minute! No staff doing any check backs or anything so tough to relay our dissatisfaction. Would definitely not recommend.

Called in here on Friday 16th June as I had received an email advertising 2 for 1 on gourmet bugers from the 5 to 16 June. I asked to person behind the bar to confirm the offer was still on but got a blank look back. So I informed them that I had received an email stating the 2 for 1 offer, the reply was - "I don't think we are doing that". Either the Eli Jenkins are falsely advertising or their staff are not kept informed. We left on principle, very annoyed.

Top class as always. I’ve been lucky to nip in here occasionally over the years and always get the best welcome. Food is fab as well as the staff.

We called into the Eli by chance on an afternoon this week and were lucky enough to drop onto the Pubs Happy Hour.... 3-8pm .... Madri, Pino all for £3 ?? Fantastic..... We sat outside with our Labrador which loved all the attention he received from the friendly punters. Later in the afternoon we asked if they had a table inside for us all and the dog..... It wasn't a problem for the more than helpful staff as we were given a table perfect for watching the football which was on Sky. We had some pizza's a few more drinks and left at 9pm . Great Pub, nice food,friendly locals.... Great for watching sports with Drink Prices you rarely come across these days. If we're ever back in the Bay we'll certainly call in again.. Thanks .

Just enjoyed a fabulous Tapas. Had 5 dishes well presented and tasted fabulous. Plenty of food for 2 to share. Friendly staff lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Selective as to who they let on their special little one way system. My partner was clearly suffering from her choice of for wear, her choice of course, but as soon as we've been sent around the houses, a load of blokes poured in in from the exit. Clearly selective and the bouncers mate. It just makes you feel bitter against staff when you're treated unfairly or at least not equally.

I was here today with a group of ladies. I’d booked a table for 6 of us and then my grandson joined us. 4 of us went to the bar and ordered our meals.Then another 2 ordered our meals and then my grandson ordered his meal (we were all sat at the same table.)3 meals arrived. 3/4 of the first order. Mine didn’t arrive. Then 2 meals arrived (again not mine). Then my grandson’s meal arrived. Still no sign of my meal. So I asked the bar staff where my meal was. I was told ‘it’s on his way.’ The first 3 ladies had now finished their meals. 5 minutes later I asked where my meal was and was told ‘we’re just finishing it off’. By now everyone had finished their meals !! When my meal eventually arrived it was the wrong order! I’d ordered the Big Double but got the Triple House. I could hardly send it back when everyone else had finished their meal and were ready to leave. I would never order a chicken burger! On top of that the only beef burger was burnt black on one side - like charcoal ! I completely ignored the chicken breast as it’s something I don’t like. The bacon and chicken in breadcrumbs were fine. So only half the burger was edible!! It will be a long time before I eat in this pub again.

I come for drinks here whenever my husband has an evening off (he normally works evenings) and we love it. The staff are friendly, the bouncer now knows us, and it's like we're going to see friends. Grant and Henry always come and chat if they have time and we allways have a laugh. I love the beer garden, it's lit up with lights, the atmosphere is great, as is the service and the prices.

We were down in Cardiff to visit my partners mother, and went here for a lunchtime meal. It was all very nice, good service, and nice and quiet as it was lunchtime!

The staff that served us we were all so friendly and attentive, we called in for food pre show at the glee club and we couldn’t fault it steak was cooked perfectly and chicken dippers again lovely, reasonably priced and nice atmosphere not like Wetherspoons up the road so if you’re down the bay call in and enjoy

Ate here a couple of times whilst staying in Cardiff. Food was spot on, hot, tasty. Staff were friendly. Will definate be calling here again next time in Cardiff

This was recommended to us after a restaurant had an issue with their gas supply. Great place and very good reasonably priced menu with lots of choice.

Visited this afternoon with some friends and the service was top notch! Staff were really friendly and polite, gave good instructions on what to do in terms of how to order drinks and food. The pub was tidy and everything was well organised. I ordered a southern fried chicken burger too and it was delicious! One of the best pubs in Cardiff Bay, I will definitely be visiting again.

Have always enjoyed this pub , both for food and just popping in for a drink when in the bay ..Today, we booked a table to watch the rugby .In our little corner near to the front door , there were for tables, we were all trying our best to enjoy the game on the screens in front of us ..However , there was a group of 6 customers in the centre of the pub , who decided that noone should enjoy anything except to hear them singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY , badly, as loud as possible every 5 mins .When they weren't singing they were swearing , again really loudly and shouting at anyone who tried to get them to calm down and sushhhhhh.The group should have been asked to keep the noise down , but instead , the manager , or someone acting in authority came over to a man sitting in our corner to tell him off because he had dared to ask them to be quiet ...We were totally in agreement with this customer as he had said what we were all thinking and we told the manager this ...4 customers then left because they could not concentrate on the game , and thought there may be trouble...and low and behold , security had to come a short while later to ask this group to vacate ...They had completely spoiled our afternoon and should have been the ones spoken to , and asked to leave well beforehand The group were not spoken to ,for a long long while , despjte it being perfectly clear it would be in the pubs best interests (and that of us customers ) .if they had been asked to leave earlier , they were a minority and the majority were thrilled when they went.Wasn't our best trip to the pub sorry to say .Although the members of staff we encountered were very helpful and really pleasant ....

We booked a table and when we arrived, we were seated quickly by a lovely man. We had drinks here and can say it was very covid safe. The staff were fantastic and the price of drinks was good. Had a really good time here, would 100% recommend

Would be great to have another option on draught other than strongbow dark fruits. Otherwise good outdoor area and high number of TVs for watching sport

Forgot to book here for our weekend in Cardiff but took a chance on a walk-in. Absolutely brilliant. Greeted cheerfully, the staff member checked and a no show meant we were given a table and served super quick. All COVID regs adhered to with minimum fuss but full professionalism. Staff were funny and friendly and working really hard as it was a busy day. Unfortunately, they were so busy it took some time for our last drink order to be prepared and we had to leave for a dinner reservation elsewhere. However, we wanted to return after dinner so staff kindly ‘held’ our drink order & booked us in again so when we returned, out drinks and table were delivered double quick - over and above customer service so thank you guys.Definitely would go back if staying longer in Cardiff & would recommend a visit to our friends.
