Elgol Bistro in Highland

Donald very kindly offered us a Xmas dinner at his gorgeous bistro on the 20th December. The restaurant would normally be shut over the winter season as it is so remote. His Cullen Skink was outstanding as was our delicious xmas dinner finished off with homemade treacle pudding! Delicious food and such friendly welcoming hosts. We will be back! Very nice little place with very friendly owner Donald ! We were happely surprised by the excellent food we could eat 2 evenings after another and felt very welcomed and pampered.

A truly fantastic experience, great food, great setting and wonderful staff. We visited as quite a large party (5 adults, 3 children) but we were very easily accommodated and very comfortable. When we booked we were advised that the food might be staggered due to the size of our group which was fine and as it turned out wasn’t an issue. The food was great quality and just the right portion sizes. The staff were lovely and when I ordered the Whiskey Board the chef came and sat with us to take me through each one - a great touch and one I’ve only ever experienced before in fine dining restaurants. We can’t recommend this enough, even if you aren’t staying in immediate vicinity of Elgol, it’s worth the trip as you drive through some stunning Skye scenery to get there.

You will never go wrong with elgol bistro, super friendly and welcoming all the times we have visited as a couple and with our young daughter. Food is always quick and haven’t had anything but a superb meal. Proper home cooking at its best - don’t go past without going in!!

Absolutely wonderful little bistro in remote wee Elgol! Fabulous and friendly service, delicious food, and great drinks. A lovely little spot to eat dinner as the sun goes down. Book a table to avoid disappointment!

The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, the food was delicious. Little sheep roamed freely in front. We had an excellent evening.

An excellent wee restaurant in a great location. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the food was super. I'm more than happy to recommend this Bistro and shall definitely go back.

What fantastic hosts Donald and Eileen were, I messaged them speculatively saying I was going to be staying near by and would the perhaps be open with it being out of season I expected a no, but they quickly gaged interest and put on a Steak night(which just happened to coincide with my birthday). The food was excellent the quality of meat was some of the best I've ever had we enjoyed some local beer and lovely wine, the ambience and the setting in Elgol is spectacular, but what really makes it are the owners they really couldn't do enough for us and I will definitely be back. I would highly recommend visiting here for a bit to eat and a glass of wine its just beautiful and worth the trip even if your not in Elgol.
