Amazing food and just the best service. We can not recommend this Indian restaurant enough. The food is fresh, tastes home made and is served by charming staff. There’s a really lovely atmosphere… the staff are very professional, attentive and so friendly. Would heartily recommend the chicken roshuni if you like a bit of spice!

We visited last night 22/07 the 9 of us (7 adults, 1 child and 1 baby). We are holidaying in the area and took a chance as we love our local Indian restaurants from home. We were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food and customer service. All the staff members were so friendly and accommodating. Our little one is weaning and teething and they offered to cut up some cucumber and Carrot. Everything was outstanding from start to finish. If we are ever in the area again we will deffo be back. Thank you again. X

This restaurant was recommended by the owners of a holiday home we were staying at and we were not disappointed. The food was lovely, very tasty. The service was good, the staff are very attentive and you are not left too long between courses and not rushed - just right.

Food was very tasty and reasonably priced. They also offer a half and half curry option which is great if you are divided between two choices. Overall service was great along with the food, I’d recommend the restaurant to anyone who likes Indian cuisine.

We were two couples, family. First Asian meal since lockdown. Wonderful, welcoming staff, really helpful wait staff. Good selection of wines and a simply fabulous selection of curries. It was a delightful evening and we'd definitely go back.

Booked on recommendation from the hotel we were staying at in Matlock. Short drive to Belper with parking just across the road. The restaurant is very clean and classy. Staff are very welcoming and friendly, food was truly delicious, fresh and the presentation better than other comparable eateries. Amazing food yet again,service brilliant great recommendations on different dishes to try which went down well, we took our friends who hadnt been before and they were very impressed.

One of the very few meals out in the last 16 months and was welcomed with friendly service. The food is great but it’s the atmosphere that makes this place one to return to.

As Ex Pats living in the USA, we’ve been trying to get back to visit our hometown of Belper for 18 months & never miss, at the very least, one visit to our favorite Indian, Elaichi on Bridge Street. We arrived yesterday, but have to quarantine for 10 days. Tonight we called for home delivery & was not disappointed….amazing as always. As the Yanks say “comfort food”. Our only complaint….they don’t deliver to San Diego.

We had visited Belper one Friday evening to have some chips, but walked past this restaurant and thought we would try. We didn’t expect them to fit us in as hadn’t booked, but nothing was too much trouble. We have never been before, but was impressed very much with the food.We had lamb tikka, and onion Bhaji for starters. The lamb was melt in the mouth, really lovely. For mains we had Chicken tikka tawa, and chicken jalfrezi, both were delightful. My partner wished he would have had my chicken tawa when tasting it, not because he didn’t like the jalfrezi, but sometimes reluctant to order different dishes until trying them. The naan bread was a honey one and we also really enjoyed this. The staff were really nice and friendly. I can imagine if you visit regularly. They would make a fuss. We will definitely go again, and look forward to our next visit.I would also like to add the toilets were super clean, and modern, which is really important to notice clean toilets, as this is something that can put you off.

Excellent 1st meal,out after lockdown, the restaurant was busy but not silly, it was safe and felt secure. The food was excellent as ever and service was quick.

The best jalfrezi I’ve ever tasted! We haven’t been in a few years but it didn’t disappoint, we loved it that much we’re going again tonight.

It has taken me a while to get round to writing this review, as we have been going to Elachi for over 3 years now for both eating in (pre covid) and takeaway.Elachi never fails to impress. The food is always hot, promptly delivered and delicious. The whole team are absolutely fantastic, wonderfully friendly and genuinely nice people. My husband and I not only look forwards to eating their delicious food, but saying hello to the lovely staff both indoors and on takeaway duty. We can't wait to take our family and new little boy to Elachi in a few months time when things are (hopefully) more back to normal.Thankyou so much for making lock-down more bareable and for helping me survive becoming a new mother who occasionally forgets to / doesn't have time to cook!!Best wishesCharlotte, James and Baby Angus xx

First time out for a meal with friends post lockdown and we weren’t disappointed. This lovely restaurant has fantastic service and amazing food. Definitely the best Indian restaurant in Derbyshire. We can highly recommend eating here. You won’t be disappointed.

Great to back eating in the restaurant and Saturday nights meal was fantastic as always and really impressed the friends we were dining with. We had also been using them during lockdown for our takeaways and every time the food arrived piping hot, on time and nothing missing from our orders. Some friends of ours who also live in Duffield and had used the Viceroy religiously before are now regular customers of The Elaichi - Superb!

The food was delicious and loved the fact we could order half portions of each curry so we could sample more of the dishes and the flavours the restaurant to offer. Service was a little slow to begin with, as our booking was at the busiest time to go (7.30) but once our order was taken, the food came out very quickly. Reasonably priced. Would recommend.

We have visted this restaurant several times in between lockdown for takeaway, the service has always been superb and the food amazing. This time we mnagaed to dine in and they did not disappoint, with everything cooked to perfection and nothing to much trouble for the staff we will certainly make this our regular night out.

I couldn’t recommend this place enough. The staff are amazing especially Cam, so thoughtful and friendly. The food is on another level, the meat is perfectly cooked and I’ve never tasted such amazing flavors. Would very highly recommend

Excellent, high quality goods and service. Meat, seafood and vegetarian dish are all well prepared and carefully served. In our party we had a variety of dishes including fish pakora, tandoori chicken, large prawns, paneer, paratha and roti breads, garlic rice and chick peas. Each dish was delicious and we'll be returning asap.

Really enjoyed our first trip to the Elaichi. Great selection and one of the best Nan breads I’ve eaten in ages. Thanks to Kam for really looking after us. Highly recommend.

Myself and partner really enjoyed our meals, the tandoori king prawn jalfrezi was the best I've ever had, with a large portion of prawns (unlike other places I've been) staff were lovely too! Will definitely be back.

Fabulous 'lockdown' take away meal from Elaichi. Really flavoursome Lamb Naga Special and Chicken Balti Shashlik, beautifully cooked, piping hot and simply delicious.Whilst waiting for my order to be cooked I enjoyed talking with Kem, one of three brothers running this family Bangladeshi restaurant and impressed that they have worked through the pandemic, resisted closing for furlough and provided a great take away service throughout lockdown to help the abnormal feel normal in extremely difficult circumstances. Great food, Great taste and great attitude.

The lads came out all the way to Matlock Bath to deliver our favourite meal. It was as good as ever absolutely fantastic. Cheers and hope to see you in the restaurant soon.

Had a take away tonight. The whole process was very efficient, easy and fast to place the order, collection was fast and on time. The curries were very good, all super tasty, all tasted significantly different and generous portions of good quality, tender meat. The only thing preventing a five star review were the portion sizes of the rice and naan bread (both fairly small) and the keema naan was severely lacking in meat.

Good food, large menu choice, staff very friendly and helpful, and lovely atmosphere- will be visiting here (or getting takeaways during lockdown) regularly, thanks.

Visited for a meal and it was all great. Friendly and attentive service and the food was great. Would definitely recommend.

We had a take out curry for 4 persons last week, and we were very disappointed with the quality. The popadums were soft, the mango chutney and mint yoghurt were so runny they were like water, the curry was tasteless, no flavour or depth and very little substance to it, again watery, and the Naan bread was tough. Sorry but this has put me off Elaichi for the moment.

Impossible to fault the excellent service and wonderful food. Seldom have I experienced such an attentive team who made our visit very special. The food was really good too, but the combination made the evening even better. Thoroughly recommend Elaichi.

After seeing the post of a local brewery, I opted for a table on Thursday evening that week. I wasn’t disappointed. Excellent, friendly service. Great that they are supporting a local brewery by selling the cans (Shiny) and the food was flavoursome and plentiful. Will return for sure!

Birthday meal with 4 of us, at a place I have been to many times. Before lockdown we thought they had started adding more chilli to everything so I ordered a chicken dish described as very mild. It was medium hot so ok but not what I wanted. It's a real shame because their food tastes great until the heat knocks out the flavour. This is an individual taste though so if you like a bit of heat they have a great menu at good prices. Covid measures weren't great. No masks on staff and the tables seemed a bit close - of course they have to make a living. However it also felt rushed, which is a first there. They were serving mains before we had completely finished the poppadoms and were very quick to move us out when the plates were clear. All in all it's not a terrible place, but think it will be a while before we go back.

We had a great meal with my wife and in-laws. Cam, our waiter was superb. Very attentive and polite, without a hint of being inauthentic. The food itself was plentiful and well cooked. Some great flavours. We would definitely recommend for anyone in the area.

Just back from a gorgeous meal at Elaichi. Great menu for vegetarians and we had great advice from the staff on food options. Kam our waiter was absolutely fantastic, the best service I’ve had in restaurant in a very long time. Super friendly, helpful and went out of his way to make our meal enjoyable for us and our young daughter. Can’t recommend this place highly enough!

What was a delicious meal was largely soured by a single waiter. Never have I, nor any other member of our party, ever been spoken to so rudely by a waiter at a restaurant. The waiter was soon banished from the main floor and did not interact with us again, thankfully without us having to make this known to the manager.

Booked a table well in advance and arrived 10 minutes before time.We were asked to sit in a waiting area and then forgot about for 20 minutes, just about to leave because all the emphasis seemed to be on takeaway customers when finally they remembered and offered us two free drinks as an apology.We then went to our table and ordered and our waiter was told the drinks were not to be added to the bill.Food was average and poppadoms seemed stale and not crisp.When bill arrived drinks had been added and waiter wanted to barter rather than remove from the bill.Not been for a while and disappointing because previously it had been good.Sorry but will use other restaurants in Belper before going back.

Fantastic food; stylish place! Visited Elaichi last night for the first time as a sit in diner. We went because during lock down they kept us sane on Saturday nights with wonderful takeaways. Felt we needed to support local businesses who operated through lock down. We were not disappointed! Even better as dine in. Great food, lovely surroundings and fab staff who took care of us. Definitely going to become a regular .

We have visited Elachi on a regular basis now for 3 years and the food, service and experience is the best we have every experienced. I would have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful restaurant to my friends and family. Infact most of my friends and family have visited with us and totally agree it’s an outstanding place to eat.

We always have our takeaways from here, but recently had a meal in the restaurant.Excellent food, friendly staff who cannot do enough for you. Our children were made to feel so welcome which is such a relief when eating out with little ones.If you haven't already, try the BBQ packs...they are AMAZING :-)

Have now been a number of times over a couple of years and Elachi is consistently excellent. Nice atmosphere, great food, good varied menu and the service is always faultless. Look forward to our next visit!

Came last Thursday quite late and the service and food was first class even when we were only people in at that time, just come again and not only did they remember us but even remembered what we ordered all staff but especially Kam were polite and even with a full restaurant the food and service was amazing.

One of our first post lockdown meals and as always the Elaichi delivers on all counts. The food is always great. The service is always of the highest standard. We have always been treated to the best hospitality and for our in-laws who have been shielding throughout lockdown, they commented on how safe they felt throughout. Would always recommend this to anyone visiting Belper.

For my wife's birthday, she requested a takeaway from Elaichi, as we have had some really splendid meals here before.We ordered over the phone, four meals and sides. We were given a time to collect and the meal was ready for us - hot and excellent. Plus we were offered a 15% discount for collecting and paying in cash.Couldn't fault anything - just great.

The Elaichi has to be one of the best Indian / Bangladeshi restaurants that we have ever visited. From the moment you arrive and are escorted to your table, you are thoroughly spoilt. Kam and his brothers, and their staff, are friendly and attentive. The food is fabulous, and the draft Mongoose lager is very palatable. We have been dining here for several years and have a 40mile round trip to get there. It is worth it.

We have eaten indian food all over the UK and with some very close seconds, ELACHI of Belper serve and create the best Indian food in the UK. So if you get the chance to visit their Restaurant or order a takeaway, please do not miss out on the greatest chance to sample and enjoy this cuisine at it's best! Always served by exceptional staff who always go the extra mile, no matter what it takes.

Ordered from here a few times and always really good..I know we are going through a really strange time at the minute but paid £37 for 3 curries 3 Rice and 2 nan bread...the amount we got in the curries and the rice...well the tubs were not even half full and we had waited 2.15 hours for it...not very impressed...will be looking for another take away...

We had a table for 4 people for Saturday night at 9pm. We were shown to our table pretty much straight away. The dining area is upstairs and is quite small so you are quite close to the table behind you. Although, the atmosphere was nice. Our drinks and food order was taken quickly and poppadoms came straight away. However after the starter we had about a 45 min wait until mains, within that time frame no one came and asked us for another drink order, even though some glasses were empty. We flagged staff down and asked for more drinks but then had to chase them 10 minutes later for these drinks. The food was lovely but portions of chips and rice are suitable for 1 person (usually feeds two in most curry places), and the curry portion was quite small. Overall a good meal but we weren't fully satisfied!

I have been to Elaichi a number of times and I have always been impressed with the food and the outstanding customer service. Naan breads are a particular delight as well as the fish curries (and pakoras!) Great value for money too.

I love Elaichi! Me and my partner visit quite regularly and the food is always great. We always receive top service and are made to feel really comfortable. The staff are very friendly and are able to recommend a dish based on your personal preference. Prices are reasonable too.

The Elaichi has turned itself around after some rocky times. We had an enjoyable dining experience, and followed it up with a home delivery service. Could not really fault it, the curries full of flavour and rive dishes really well cooked. Naans never travel well, but in-house are good. The home delivery took place well within the time indicated, despite our house being tricky to find first time. Will definitely go back again, even though we shunned it in the past. They really have pulled their socks up!

Eaten in and taken away from here many times over the years, and it never disappoints. Varied menu and accommodating staff.

After sampling a few of Belper's pleasant hostelries, we opted for this place and were rewarded with some excellent food.

Visited last night with 2 friends. The restaurant was busy, it was clean and a nice ambience.

Although there is no vegan menu listed I was amazed when I asked if they did vegan option. I was told because they make everything to order they can also make everything vegan. This was music to my ears. The gentleman on the phone was really helpful and accommodating as was the delivery driver.

Always good service but now Barrakah is closed you need to pre book in advance. George and Dragon opposite perfect for a real ale pint after and live music fridays/Saturdays

Had dinner with friends recently, the food was ok, the selection of drinks very poor. The team at the restaurant were very rude and aggressive. Would avoid due to this.

Brilliant taste, quality and service for a group of 11 a week before Christmas. The restaurant have always lived up to their expectations- but we were really impressed a short notice booking for such a large group that within a week or two we were accommodated for a birthday booking that had fallen through somewhere else. The food was fantastic, a real well flavoured and presented curry- we also had vegetarian who's food was also very good. Everything is also accompanied by fantastic service- they cannot do enough for you. Thank you for a wonderful meal that we were still talking about that week after!
