El Toro in Doncaster

Pretty lacklustre if I’m honest halloumi portion is tiny really tiny. Chorizo in cider sausage was cold and tasteless . Real shame

We had 3 delicious dishes each which filled us up. The dishes were large and satisfying. The rice with pork chicken and white wine, chickpeas and vegetables, lamb stew and chorizo, egg and potato were particular standouts. Service was fast and polite and for 4 if us who had 3 dishes each, a glass of Sangria, a non alcoholic beer, coke and table water, the bill came to just over £20 each which for the size, quality, variety and authenticity of the dishes, I felt was excellent value.

Heard good things and despite being from notts area, travelled with a friend to try out the all you can eat tapas at £24.95, you can pick three dishes each to start, from an extensive menu, then two dishes each then one and keep ordering one each until you’re full. Drinks and puddings aren’t included but are reasonably priced. We ate a range of dishes such as chicken, beef, hallumi, spring rolls, meat balls, pasta, aubergine, potatoes and all were hot, tasty and freshly cooked The staff were polite, chatty and helpful - the street also had several other restaurants that looked worth a visit and so no doubt we will be back to the area.

I have recently moved to the area, my friends visiting suggested here. The food was to die for. The minced chicken and beef with aubergine was particularly good. Will certainly visit again

Dining alone on a business trip. Food was honestly superb. Good size tapas and amazing value for money. Service was friendly and polite. If I'm back in area I will definitely be back. Very authentic too. Gracias

Never tried the restaurant before but wanted to have some Spanish food. Beautiful food. Good atmosphere and friendly helpful staff.

I'd had a hard day working in Hull and was driving to Stoke on Trent. My journey took me past Doncaster. I headed to El Torero. It was every bit as welcoming as I remembered. The food was amazing. I just sat there, enjoying the tapas, the music and the friendliness of this lovely restaurant. Thank you once again, you are wonderful.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you for the meal my friends and I had on Wednesday evening. We were the group that showed up. We all enjoyed the plates that we were served. Cooked well, served in good time and hot too. The pricing was easy to understand, the way the menu was laid out for vegan/vegetarian, fish and meat options made it easy to select the different plates and especially liked that you wasn't put in a position to waste good, tasty food. hen we return to Doncaster again, we hope to come by again for some more amazing food!

My second visit, absolutely fantastic again. I had 11 dishes, loved them all. The staff are great. Special mention for Viki who looked after us so well.👍

I’d give the food and drink a 3.5/ 10. Bland, over cooked and tiny portions, even for tapas. £25 each for food, and £18.95 for a jug of sangria, mostly ice. Over priced, tasteless, will not go again. Staff were pleasant enough, restaurant empty on a Saturday, lacked atmosphere. Used to be amazing under ‘El Toro’ management, since it changed to ‘El Toreo’ it’s just gone more down hill every time we’ve been.

We booked a table last minute as we were passing through and so pleased we did. Lovely staff, great service, lovely atmosphere and the food was absolutely delicious.

Me and my friend went today mon 11th april when we entered it was quiet but it was only 12.30 lunch time we was acknowledged by the waiter and was spoken to in a pleasent manner and shown to our seats the waiter then give us a couple of minutes before asking what drinks and explained to us he was very pleasent and full of smiles he looked like he was enjoying his job the food what followed was amazing great service and food and the place is a very nice place i will be going again i loved every monute and we didnt feel rushed when we had finished he asked if everything was ok and give us time 10 out of 10 for food and service

Excellent food had the lunchtime menu order three dishes then another two and another one if still hungry we didn’t need to order all of it as was very full there’s a great selection service was quick food was piping hot and waiter extremely friendly

We visited here for lunch, and had the all you can eat menu for £16. There’s a great choice of dishes, more than any tapas restaurant I’ve been to before. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the service was quick. The food was amazing, we didn’t go crazy and had 10 dishes between the two of us, which was just enough for lunch. You can have more if you want it, but for lunch that was enough for us. It was fairly quiet, which is understandable for a Wednesday at 1pm. They really deserve to have more people in with such a good menu and bargain price.

We visited on a Friday lunchtime and had the all you can eat tapas menu at £16 ish per person. Greeted by pleasant and polite staff, we were the only customers at the time, drinks order taken, and we were served with complimentary bread and aioli. Fantastic choice on the menu, and after a short time we were served with our first dishes. Good portion size, hot and delicious. For me, the chuletas were too charred, but we really enjoyed the rest. We would recommend this restaurant and hope to visit again soon.

We enjoyed all of our tapas, good value for money. The food came out quickly and hot. The strawberry daiquiri was so nice! Staff were really friendly.

Visited here with friends on a Saturday night, service was excellent, food arrived promptly, and was very tasty. The Lamb chops were delicious, as were several other dishes. Looking forward to returning when next in Doncaster.

Ate here this afternoon (19th September) for the first time and we weren't disappointed. Upon arrival we were the only ones in the restaurant. We was served by a polite young lady who was always on hand. After ordering our first dishes the food came out pretty quickly and everything was cooked to perfection, it is definitely value for money. I would 100% recommend to anyone and will be returning here.

2nd review of this place but thought I’d better update it as the last one was a while ago. We eat here reasonably regularly and always find the food to be very good. We were particularly impressed during the eat out to help out. They accommodated us at short notice and despite being very busy food and service was not compromised. Best tapas restaurant in Doncaster.

About the fifth time we’ve been here so we knew what to expect. Fast service for food and drinks, we had 11 dishes between us and each one was delicious! I would defo recommend the liver, lamb and battered king prawns! We’ll be back again and again!

Been going here for a few years now and it’s normally decent food. Ordered chicken skewers and they came out still clucking it was that raw. The guy sat a few tables away then cut into his and it was the same.Manager came over and basically said it happens occasionally. Nice one pal, I’ll spend the next few days on the bog because you think serving raw chicken is fine!!!Manager who claims he’s not the owner but clearly is, he’s the most aggressive man I’ve ever encountered and has zero customer service skills. His staff are clearly scared of him which was extremely concerning for us as customers, I won’t repeat what one member of staff said about him but I felt genuinely worried.This place is slowly going downhill because the “manager” is a bell end. He was losing customers because he was so busy shouting at me for his kitchen staff’s mistake but he didn’t care.

The owner is very hospitable and will do anything to ensure you have a great experience. All the waitresses were lovely, polite, friendly and very professional. There is a really great choice of foods if you like Spanish dishes and or spicy foods. Menu is a little limited for younger children however but our 6 year old still went home full. It had a really nice atmosphere and would definitely go back numerous times.

I would highly recommend coming here, the food is so nice! Not one thing I could say that’s wrong with the restaurant. The staff are so polite and friendly, by far one of best places to eat at if I do say so myself.

We visited El Torero on a Sunday night. When we arrived at 8.45pm we were told that the kitchen would close at 10 so we could only choose 5 tapas dishes each from the all you can eat menu (£16) but the cost would still be the same! We were hungry so we decided to stay and try it. Unfortunately the first dish, Paella, was some sort of left over from earlier and had to be sent back. All in all the food was average at best and we felt rushed.

Food was delicious, despite it being busy it was delivered quickly with lovely waitressing staff. I was extremely happy with the whole experience and I will most definitely return to el torero and would happily recommend the restaurant!!

Booked here for the eat out to help out scheme (2weeks in advance) when booked explained that my son had a milk allergy and checked they could cater for him. They agreed they could and there is lots of tapas that is milk free.Turned up on the night... and the manager told us he doesn’t serve allergies due to kitchen size. He was very abrupt with his speaking and told his he refuses to serve my one year old. I explained that I had spoken to someone and he still refused to feed him saying it’s policy and pointing at his menu. After checking the menu it states they can cater for allergies but this isn’t happening. We was then left trying to find somewhere to eat! Avoid if you have an allergy!

Given that it was Bank Holiday we let a few things slide but after 20mins of not getting our drinks an seeing the party after us get served first we weren't exactly pleased. But ya know the little things. Food came before our drinks. Very bland we left the first dishes.We drank more than we ate haha Gave 2 stars because the lamb & prawns tasted great. Halloumi tasted store bought aswell as the ice cream. When we said something we were offered a free round of drinks. Great except they were flat.Recommended by a friend, place has potential just sad about the food.

Went to El torero again after having an amazing meal there last week with family. I took a friend who is gluten free and the staff didn’t understand what that meant despite stating on their menu that they cater especially for gluten free. The service was slow compared to other tables, our meals didn’t come at the same time so we had to wait for our food to go cold to eat together. The restaurant wasn’t even busy so I don’t understand why this happened. The bill was wrongly charged £30 under and when we were honest to tell them they didn’t thank us. Very disappointed after having a nice meal here before and how badly they served a coeliac customer.

Service at this restaurant was brilliant. I had to call multiple times to amend the booking and felt a right pain! However nothing was too much trouble. I really appreciated the call earlier in the day to confirm my booking details were all correct for later. The staff were amazing and I loved how they made an effort to pronounce the dishes properly and authentically (as a Spanish speaker I was very impressed!) We were a party of 10 to celebrate a birthday, needless to say the table got very loud! The staff were very lighthearted and didn’t mind, despite this probably making their order-taking more difficult! I love how the food was fresh to order. Everything was tasty, hot etc. Our only one disappointment was we asked to order more but they never came. Then when we followed it up and asked again we were told we couldn’t order any more as they needed the table back (fair enough) but then when asked if we could order desserts (of which are an added cost not included in the tapas price) this was ok?! All the food was great apart from the crema catalana we paid extra for. This was really disappointing and not authentic at all sadly. Highlights for the food across the table were the lamb chops, garlic prawns and creamy chicken. Non-alcoholic sangria was a nice alternative to a Coca Cola too! Great value for money and friendly staff, will definitely be back for my tapas fix.

Our server Ayrton was amazing, and the prawns with the almonds were incredible. Would come back just for those!

This was our first experience eating out since lockdown and we were quickly put at ease with a warm welcome and clear evidence of the steps being taken to keep everyone safe (staff in PPE, disposable menus, hand sanitizer available, tables and chairs disinfected after each customer). Service and food were both excellent and we would gladly visit again.

I visited here yesterday with my partner and a couple friends for tapas. Our table was booked for quarter past 6, we were greeted at the door and seated; the member of staff took our drinks order which arrived within 10 minutes. All staff members were wearing PPE and the restaurant looked well presented and clean.We ordered 3 dishes to start with, all of which were perfect and arrived very quickly after receiving a garlic dip and bread appetiser. We went on to order 2 further dishes and finished with 1 dish each. The food always arrived quickly and was great quality.We ordered more drinks before leaving which again arrived quickly. We had such a great experience, thank you!

I was on my way back from Lake District and called just an hour before to book a table. What a great experience I have had!! Food was amazing and service was great! Staff is very nice! El Torero offers an all you can eat tapas buffet however there are rules. On your first round you can order 3 dishes per person then 2 on your second round and from then on only one dish at a time, this means you cant fill the table with loads of dishes which you don't finish. The food is tasty and well prepared with a good choice of meat, seafood and vegetable options. Srvice was friendly but patchy as we were sat outside we were waiting for a long time and a drink we ordered never appeared but we were charged for it.

Disgusting matre de, if that’s what he poses as! Tried for 2 days to confirm a booking no reply from on line booking system, telephone constantly engaged and Facebook message ignored! So we proceeded to attend planned booking only to be told when we got there with the vile manager/ matre de basically touch we are too populate for away...so away we did, across the road to La Boca....wow absolutely outstanding and booked in again for next week. Every cloud

Booked a table for 7.15pm arrived early so ordered a drink at the bar we got taken to our table and given the menu.20 minutes later someone returned to take our order.60 minutes had passed before any food appeared at the table.Yes I get it was busy but it shouldn’t take that long to serve a table of six. When the food started coming the waitresses were bringing one dish at a time instead of bring a tray each to speed up the already very slow service.The food looked rushed and not presented to the standard we have had in the past.I do think the restaurant was over booked with peopleand to be honest no social distances were taking place as it was that full.A very nice young lad kept apologising for the wait but to be honest I was happy to get the bill and come home.I did say thanks to some of the staff that actually worked very hard but alot of training is needed for this restaurant to get better.Starting with front of house as the manager seemed very incompetent and seemed to enjoy blaming others for his incompetence.I asked 7 times for a pint of water as I was cramping up in the very hot restaurant and ended up going to the bar and getting served.Like I say There was some good points Like the lovely lady behind the bar who worked her socks off and the young lad taking orders.This has been very hard for me to write this as I love this Restraunt but it does need a shake up.

This was the first time in over a year that we had visited and we weren't disappointed. The tapas menu is even bigger than before and the dishes on offer were great. All of our dishes we ordered were delicious with only the liver being slightly disappointing as it was very tough and had clearly been overcooked. I also understand the 3 dishes, then 2 dishes then 1 dish to ensure no food wastage but we felt like we could've eaten another 4 dishes between myself and my partner but were told we could only order 1 more each on our next order. We had to wait a while to order our next dish each so couldn't be bothered to wait around to order another dish each after finishing. However this hasn't tainted our experience and we will definitely be visiting again.

Our first time at this restaurant. Was a bit nervous after lockdown and wary of safety issues. Need not have worried. It was a Thursday night and not too busy. Pleased with our window table which was well distanced. All staff very friendly and wearing appropriate PPE. Food excellent and great value for money. Will be back ASAP. Couldn't stop eating the lamb chops. Brilliant.

Took the Mrs for her b'day... First meal out for 4 months due to lock down....Service 10/10.... Thank you to lad on his own for hours serving 4/5 tables. Yes it was slow but that's how you eat tapas. He was brilliant.Food:10/10... I'm Latin so was telling the Mrs prepare yourself for magic as she's never had tapas. Wow wow wow. Everything was spot on but the lamb chops were pretty much unbeatable. Price: again amazing.Highly recommended and will I go back.. Yes.And the guy serving on his own deserves a payrise. First time visit here. WOW!!! What can I say amazing all round. Food delicious and plenty of choice, ( great for gluten free) attentive service and excellent value for money. Will definitely be returning and i would highly recommend anyone to visit. A great place for a dinner date whether it's with a loved one or a group of friends.

Post lockdown visit and it was fantastic, staff all wearing correct PPE, felt safe and comfortable just like pre lockdown. Food was out of this world, staff were attentive.

Myself and partner went this evening for our 1st post lockdown date night.... the service was amazing. Drinks order taken immediately but given plenty of time to study the extensive menu. Food was serviced within 10 minutes of ordering, piping hot, clearly freshly cooked. All the waiters/waitresses were attentive without being over the top. We had 5 tapas dishes each, a desert, 2 cocktails and a bottle of bubbly for a very fair price. On paying our bill we received a shot each . Will definitely return!

I would highly recommend This is a very comfortable restaurant, the food is excellent, with good friendly service we have been several times and can’t say we have had a bad meal. Love the 3-2-1 menu as you get to try different tapas meals. The chicken in coconut is excellent, well worth the £14.95 looking forward to visiting again

Visiting family in Doncaster and booked this venue in Bawtry which is very nice. Decor and atmosphere was very good. the Tapas selection was interesting and varied. There were 6 of us and the service was spot on and friendly. All ordered 23 dishes each and shared to be able to try as many options as we could. Highlights were the Tempura prawns, sliced beef, cod, and the sides of vegetables.

Lovely staff and tasty food - special mention to the chicken skewers!!! Plenty to choose from including lots of gluten free options! Will definitely return

There was a great choice on the menu and I have to say for all you can eat it was very good. The only two negatives were nearly £4 for a pint of coke and the service was a little slow at times. Not sure if that was to slow our eating down but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I would eat here again. Good veggie choice too.

Excellent food in pleasant surroundings, great choice of tapas type dishes. Between four of us we had a great selection of dishes and no one was disappointed.

Visited early evening at weekend and welcomed by staff and sat at table nice and quick. We had some good choices off the menu and can I just say, all were superb. All food is piping hot and fresh, it was a taste bud pleasure. We have visited a fair few Tapas places here and abroad and this is up there with them I would say.Definitely will visit again and would recommend anyone who likes Tapas in a lovely restaurant to try. Just a quick word on parking, there is some round the back behind the Mecca bingo hall that is pay and display. The NCP one next door to Relish is quite expensive if during daytime.But don't let that spoil fantastic food at this restaurant.

Me and my partner always go to this restaurant without fail, the food is sublime, absolutely incredible. The atmosphere is very loving, welcoming and warm. But the best part is the owner, he is the kindest, most amazing person. One of the many reasons we visit this restaurant. I can’t fault anything! We WILL be returning soon!

The food is sensational and always fresh and hot. For your £16.95 it is good value for money. However I take issue with the false advertising. El Torero promises all you can eat but fails to deliver...literally.You'll get your first 3 tiny portions pronto, then a longer wait for next 2 and even longer again for any after that. If you ask for more you get a sarcastic "You want to order again?". The only way I could conceive to get any more food was by other members of my party (who had finished) ordering dishes on my behalf. The staff are not daft however as "round 4" never arrived.The management have a diliberate tactic if you are a big eater which is to slow down the service. I appreciate they would make a loss if all their customers were like me... but this simply is not the case. The middle aged woman on the next table orderd one meat dish and a rice dish because she was on slimming world but still wanted to come on works Christmas do.El Torero are rubbing their hands together when they make huge a profit on these customers but unhappy to make a loss on the bigger eaters.Come on El Torero. Work out what your average customer eats, add your profit margin on and charge that. I would sooner pay £26.95 and genuinly have all I could eat. Much better than £16.95 for all you'll bring me. It's the principle. Unless its truly all you can eat THEN DONT SAY IT IS.If you like a "good meal" you wont enjoy El Torero.

An amazing evening celebrating my wife`s 70th birthday , the food was tasty and full of lots of different flavours and plenty of choice

The tapas is really tasty. We have visited a couple of times, and I don't think there's a dish I've really not liked. Nice to have a good vegetarian choice. Great value now that it is all you can eat.

A buffet style tapas so expectations weren’t high but actually hit the mark with Spanish flavours and textures. I would come again.

The service was appalling, we waited a long time to get our food, we were given the wrong dishes and the man taking the orders told us that if we weren’t happy too bad. The one star I’ve given is for the food. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone

If you live in the area or just visiting Doncaster you have to visit El Torero . The food is absolutely amazing and there’s a great variety of cocktails. I had the el torero ice tea! It was delicious. The food was so tasty and exceeded our expectations . Attila ,aka Leo the waiter , was so helpful and kind and made us feel like at home.

If you want amazing food and fantastic service, then take time out to visit El Torero. Myself and three friends called in one Saturday afternoon after drinks and were all served amazing tapas with top class service. Leo was attentive and courteous, the food and drinks were amazing.

Having been on many occasions, this place never fails to deliver. The staff are lovely and attentive and the food is by far the best Tapas I have had in Doncaster. I have visited others previously but this is now my go to place. Very reasonable prices between the al a carte menu or the all you can eat menu considering the quality of the food served. If you want Tapas and you haven’t tried this place, make it your next visit. You won’t be disappointed.

A rainy night in Doncaster did not seem promising but the staff and the food here made the evening quite magical. The variety of Tapas style dishes available and the reasonable prices combined to more than make up for the dismal weather

After originally booking online, we saw a disclaimer stating any waste would incur an extra charge, as neither myself nor my girlfriend had tried tapas before we decided to cancel, I phoned up and spoke to a really nice gentleman called Leo, who assured me that as it was our first time not to worry about any extra charge and he would be working that night and give recommendations on what to try so i decided to keep the booking, this was a mistake. Upon arrival we were met by a man called Ren, he was arrogant and not very welcoming straight from the start. When I mentioned about the extra charge if we didn't like something his response was "well we accept no waste" to which we replied “we have spoken to the manager and he said as it was our first time there would be no charge” Ren then grumbled something and walked away. We ordered two drinks, and then the first three dishes, while we were waiting we watched the barman make a cocktail drink for a customer then stand behind the bar and drink the remainder of what was made, with Ren. First 4 dishes came out, one of which was clearly cooked from frozen and not fresh like they say however, the food was still nice.

Very nice food. Some dishes were a bit bland or a bit chewy like the chicken and pork skewers however all the other dishes we had were really nice and filling. One negative was there was a very large table with about 15 odd people. We got 3 dishes between 6 of us and then for some reason, the larger table then got their dishes so we were waiting for the rest of ours whilst 2 of us were eating. Wasn’t really organised well. After this though, service was great. We will return and would recommend it.

From the moment we went in to the moment we left we were made to feel like we were valued customers, a tapas delight £13.95 each all you can eat, freshly cooked as you order, great lamb chops, prawns I could go on everything was delicious, staff were attentive but not pushy , proper nice eating experience, wish they had one in Blackpool.

Great atmosphere, friendly attentive staff and most of all delicious food!!! You order 3 dishes then another 2 and then one at a time until you’re full...the four of us could only manage 5 dishes each the portions are very generous! Would highly recommend and we’ll be back

Fantastic meal experience at this restaurant. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The dining area was nicely laid out. Food were nicely presented, tasty and plentiful. We had the all you can eat buffet. With a choice of 38 dishes to choose from, it was near impossible not to satisfy most palates. Each Tapas was tasty, steaming hot and attractively presented.

So we went here for Sunday afternoon dinner. We arrived to a near empty restaurant which I was happy with as it makes it easier to get food and drink. There was a small table with a family and a big group of friends on another table. We saw the menu and was happy with the variety and picked what we wanted to order. Lots to choose from and all cooked fresh to order. The waiting started after we ordered drinks! We looked over the menu and put it down which I thought indicated to anyone we was ready to order. We was in there 25 mins before this happened n only coz we asked! So another 15/20min wait for food which is fine as it's fresh! We got it all hot n mostly together all very nice. Then the waiting started again! N we waited! N waited. Mostly because someone turned up they all knew so one went outside to talk alot to them! And them the other stood at the bar looking at our table empty plates and sat waiting to walk away again. The main sever was doing much of the same. Taking care of the big table mostly but looking n watching us wait to order again. I know them all u can eat places want u to be full n not eat lost but 20 odd mins of waiting again was a joke. Again! We had to shout to get some food n service. The girl outside with her mates seemed happy not doing much n the other 2 was more than happy to help another table but us! At one point a child dropped a dish n the main guy was all over it. Made me think about throwing some stuff around to get some descent service! In the end I could not be bothered to wait no more so I got up knowing waiting at my table was a bad Idea I asked him face to face for the bill. Another 15 mins after we was given to bill we got to pay n leave thank god! So to sum up! Food is nice place is nice but the service is terrible.

Couldn’t get a table at our usual fave Tapas restaurant which I have reviewed before so we thought we’d give this one a try. Seemed a bit quiet at first and we wondered why but it gradually filled up and it was a Sunday evening after all. Could not fault it. The food was superb and the service was great too. Price ended up being a bit cheaper than we usually pay too. This restaurant does unlimited buffet style every night as well so The only criticism I can make is that the credit card machine does not get good signal and would not accept my card - credit card anxiety again.... - ironic that it was 3 years to the day I was in Cuba experiencing just the same thing!!! Must be my luck! Had to go and draw money out from the hole in the wall down the road - not really their fault though can’t be helped I guess!

I have been to this restaurant before, several times before it changed its name, hence I went there this time. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I am aware of what tapas is and how it works as I have it on a regular basis, but this was a joke. I ordered a chorizo, and I got THREE slices of sausage. I do not expect for it to be filled up to the rim, but three slices is silly. Also got one of my other orders mixed up which I understand can happen and this didn't bother me. Everyone on my table said exactly the same!

22/6/19 8:30pm a friend and i ordered 3 things off the menu and 2 beers came to £27.50p i know what tapas is , but i dont expect to go home at 9:30 to eat supper. the minuscule portions and 2 beers were very disappointing though tasty. would i eat there again NO, would i recommend NO, the waiting staff were loverly

this was a first as ive tried the Fiesta in Armthorpe several times which always is a winner. this we found that the food was bliss, the food was freah, hot, and full of lovely flavors which were delightful, the service was ok, the waiting time was ok, the atmosphere was a little lacking as on the night even tho it was a Saturday was very quiet.
