5/5. That's it. Best coffee and coffee shop out of the 10-12 we visited in Edinburgh/Fife/Dundee. Stunning, friendly and artistically branded. Real hidden gem it's worth walking across the city to get to. Brings the good side of Hackney or Berlin to the unpretentious city of Dundee ( a bit of culture without the enrichment). It's a small space, so if you want to sit in, avoid weekend mornings and times once students have risen from bed.

It is a cosy place with pleasant music and friendly staff members. The coffee is amazing there! Apart from the coffee, they also serve matcha tea, hot chocolate and berry tea, served in a beautiful teapot with cute ceramic cups. They have a good choice of pastries as well. I really like the almond croissants and cinnamon rolls there!

Situated right in the heart of the west end, this wee place is always busy and has a buzz about it. Loved by students and locals alike. Great coffees and snacks to sit down with or take away.

Dropped in on the recommendation of a local, and I'm so glad that I did. Really expert coffee - the best I've had during my week in Edinburgh & Dundee. And pastries supplied by Wild Hearth Bakery are amazing. Kudos to the EH9 team for doing such a great job, and thanks to Mairi at Kist (craft shop across the road, really worth visiting!) for the recommendation.

We had coffee here with our daughter this morning. Excellent coffee accompanied by delicious cinnamon danish. We prefer decently strong flat white and this certainly hot the spot. Pleasant and quiet atmosphere and the service was friendly and attentive. Great for those looking for a place to concentrate or recharge over coffees.

Last Thursday, I caught a mid-morning train to Dundee to visit my sister. I arrived rather late at the train station with no time to grab breakfast, and was feeling somewhat jaded as I stumbled out of the station in Dundee, also known as Sun City. I slowly trudged up the Perth Road and there wasn't a whole lot of sun, however I did notice a few coffee shops. As my energy began to fade, I felt compelled to sustain myself for my onward journey, and remembered reading a recent article in the Dundee Courier about a coffee shop which had recently opened in the former Ladbrokes at 248 Perth Road, and decided to pay it a visit. As I peered through the large windows I saw a number of customers sitting in having a coffee which is always a good sign! Fraser, the owner, welcomed me at the door and invited me to sit anywhere. He then brought me a glass of water - a welcome touch. There was a good choice of hot and cold drinks, and while the iced mocha and hot chocolate with scorched mallow sounded tempting, I went for the latte. At £2.90, I felt this was great value for money. I also chose a salted caramel brownie to give me back some much needed energy. Bagels were also available – the New York Cliché containing Pastrami, gherkins, Monterey Jack cheese and mustard mayonnaise, or the vegan choice, named Betsy, which contained hummus, sundried tomatoes, carrot ribbons and rocket. I was having lunch at my sister’s so decided to hold back my appetite for that! My coffee was outstanding in quality, taste and temperature, and I overheard another customer describe it as chocolatey without huge acidity or bitterness, which hit the nail on the head. According to Fraser, the coffee is a blend between Peruvian and Columbian beans sourced from Kiss The Hippo, a speciality coffee brand devoted to creating the ultimate experience. I could see that Fraser lives and breathes coffee, so any coffee nerds out there will be in good company if they pay a visit. The coffee cup also had an unusual logo which Fraser explained was inspired by the Desperate Dan statue in the city centre. The brownie was velvety and melt in the mouth, and the combination of this with the coffee fortified me for my onward journey. The toilet was suitable for disabled customers, and plugs and WiFi were available for those wanting to work on a laptop. I also noted that Fraser sells packets of the coffee to make at home, and delicious Ocelot chocolate, handmade in Edinburgh with beautiful packaging. The coffee shop has only been open for a short time and already appears to have a loyal following of caffeine aficionados. I would definitely recommend a visit and look forward to returning soon!

It wasn't great weather when we went and some of the animals seemed to be in hiding but we spent a good hour wandering around watching them play. One of the little monkeys came up to the window and tried to reach out to us. They all seemed to have plenty of space and were well cared for. We also had a little walk round the park are with my friends dogs - lovely for a walk even if you don't visit the animals

We stumbled upon this unique cafe and werelooking in the window when a young couple outside told us we should definitely go in ! They were right. It was so welcoming. The guy who served us was so friendly. The coffee was lovely but oh my goodness the cakes were outstanding. Absolutely a treat no doubt. Such a unique place. Lovely feeling about it and we will most surely be back
