Excellent steaks for my birthday treat. Really good service from Tyler. Birthday voucher made it a bargain too. Looking forward to returning.

Visited Ego with family today. The Ego team are all so hardworking and very friendly. The atmosphere is lovely and the view across Minster Pool is an ideal setting to enjoy your meal. Food was gorgeous and drinks excellent!! Will definitely be visiting again very soon. Well done all at Ego you are doing a great job !!

My husband , myself and 2 of our friends had a wonderful evening. The restaurant was very busy and there were some things not available to us. That said we were looked after very well by Keira, who is a joy and very valuable member of staff. All the staff were helpful and happy. A bonus and a credit to the management. The food was delicious, as always. Looking forward to visiting again soon, for my husband's birthday. Thank you Marilyn Groves

We had to book (always a good sign), and from the moment we arrived, it was a great experience. Our waitress was terrific, smiling, enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and very efficient. She even asked if we wanted the next course immediately or would prefer to wait for a few minutes. The food was brilliant - I recommend the Chorizo Frito starter (but beware - I asked for an "Appetiser" - garlic bead with tomato - it was a full-size pizza - very tasty, but the size made us laugh). The lamb rump was delicious - the best I have had in a long time. Love that you can see into the kitchen - nothing to hide. For two of us, with drinks, the bill was less than £65, which we thought was very reasonable. We WILL eat here again when we are in Lichfield !

Had been recommended by a friend and didn’t disappoint garlic prawns are to die for…mains consisted of hanging kebab…salmon…steak…and lamb all cooked to perfection and as if it couldn’t get any better then we had dessert highly recommended

Wonderful experience. The food was all cooked fresh and brought to our table pretty quickly. All the dishes we had were amazing. The staff were so attentive and friendly. They ensured everything was just right and made us feel very welcome. We will definately return

Tonight me and my husband decided to go on a spur of the moment date night. Ego had been recommended to us by friends in the past so we decided to give it ago. We arrived at the restaurant and it was very busy. We were greeted by Dom and another server who checked the computer to see if we could have a table. Dom very kindly went out of his way to arrange some tables so we could sit down. The food was out of this world! A great selection of cocktails and beers. The service was quick, efficient and everything was piping hot and fresh. We can't thank Dom enough for his hospitality and being so accommodating to us considering we hadn't prebooked. He thanked us for being patient and understanding as they were so busy but to be honest he had no reason to thank us! The service was incredible! We will 100% be returning not only for the amazing food but because it felt like we were being looked after by a friend. Dom is a credit to ego and hopefully he will see this and know what an amazing job he is doing!

It was our first time at this ego location and will definitely be visiting again. :) we were served by keira who was really positive, efficient and just lovely! Food was amazing and our drinks arrived fast too! Thank you keira :)

Attended with friends for dinner. There are no faults to report. From the welcome, attentiveness of the staff to the food and drink, everything was perfect. We luckily had a table overlooking the lake which added to the experience. We will return very soon

Toilets were absolutely filthy. I pointed it out to manager who went in and cleaned them then came out and went straight into kitchen! Food was average with hair on plate. Manager didn’t offer an apology. Will not be going again.

This is the third time we have visited Ego since the restrictions have been lifted, and we can't fault this restaurant!! Food is brilliant, atmosphere is great & the staff are so efficient, especially Will who looked after us on Wednesday!!I Can't wait to return

Not my first visit but so impressed with everything. Lovely table by window with a small amount open made for a perfect temperature on a very hot day. Most impressed when waiter appeared , wearing a mask and with our water and glasses on a tray, he introduced himself and then asked if we would like ‘low contact service’ or were we happy for him to place the glasses and water on the table? As someone (ex restauranter) who notices hands around the top of glasses (don’t start me on take away coffee lids ) I surprised everyone by saying yes to low contact and took the items off the tray. He then said ‘no problem, I will now be your only waiter and I will keep everything low contact’. When I asked him to take a photo on my phone he sanitised before and after handling it. I know some people will think we need to chill but it wasn’t a drama and I found it such a respectful addition to the level of service. The food was also excellent. I had belly pork with mash, black pudding, chorizo and spinach and it was delicious. Sangria and a ginger and treacle tart before a latte completed the treat.

We had a work evening out and the restaurant was brilliant and we couldn't recommend it highly enough. The food was excellent and the service top notch. Special mention to Jake who couldn't do enough for us and was brilliant.

Food and staff exceptional, especially Joe M. The heat was unbearable and I was suffering and Joe was fabulous. I took my food home because of the severe heat. It was no one’s fault the weather was so warm but Joe did everything he could to help. We will definitely return on a cooler day.

Booked in advance for my birthday which later turned out to be “freedom day”! Obviously very noisy and very busy in the restaurant. Service was painfully slow , which we didn’t really mind.. but then rushed at the end when we were approaching our 2 hour limit. Staff were polite and friendly and I can’t fault them they were working very hard and food was really delicious. It is personal choice, but we still maintained masks and social distancing etc as I am immunosuppressed, but a lot of people didn’t and we were positioned right next to the toilets where there was a constant stream of customers walking past us unmasked, there didn’t appear to be another table available to move to either. Not the restaurant’s fault and it is still my favourite eatery, but I think we will wait until the buzz dies down a bit before returning!

I know it was a very hot day but being sat by a window with no air conditioning was torture. Staff were friendly and helpful but the service was slower than previous times and I had to ask for the glasses to be cleared as the table was over flowing. We don’t blame them but it seemed as if they were understaffed but given the times this could be COVID related. The food was good but the heat put us all off staying for deserts. Please sort the air con as we love Ego but think we shall just come in the winter.

It was great to be back, be greeted by someone with a friendly and familiar face, and to be seated at our favourite table too.We very much enjoyed our food and wine.The only improvement would have been if our waiter hadn't forgotten to bring our water!

Good food but the exceptional thing was one female member of staff who sort of made the evening: very funny, hard to put into words really. Most unusual and would make me go again.

We had a very satisfying lunchtime served by excellent staff. Our blind friend and his guide dog were welcomed and given assistance when needed. Food choice and quality was very good as was the service.

Belated Father’s Day and a joint celebration for my youngest daughters university degree results!Fantastic food. The service was excellent and the whole restaurant was very nicely presented. Even my son who moans at “different food” loved it. The iberian pork belly is probably one of the best, if not the best, meals I have ever tasted! I’m drooling just thinking about it now! Superb. I’ve always been disappointed with meals out as I pretty much think I can do better myself and home. But not today. Exceptional. Not the cheapest but when the food is this good I do not mind paying it. Top marks to the chef and staff and we’ll be back again soon!Dave

Visited for the first time with two friends. The food was excellent as was the service. Plenty of choice. The location is lovely. We were well served by all staff and would highly recommend. The music was a little loud, I only mention this as one in our group is hard of hearing and found it difficult to hear what we were saying.

We have dined here twice in the last few days, whilst at Lichfield Festival events. The food, ambience and service were excellent, despite being so busy. Wide choice on the menu. Good value. We thoroughly recommend it.

I recently went to Ego with my friend for my birthday celebration. We were very well looked after and had a great table.To start we shared Pitta bread and dips as well as Halloumi Fries. For our main course my friend had a chicken hanging kebab and I had the steak. Both cooked to perfection and delicious. Finally we finished off with lemon tart and ice cream, again absolutely gorgeous, all topped off with a few rounds of mocktails….We had such a wonderful evening, One of our waitresses Emily was superb and a credit to your team with her friendliness and professionalism.We cannot wait to come again.Thank you Ego Lichfield

My daughter and I had lunch at Ego. We had mocktails- Apple and elderflower fizz and peach bellini, goats cheese starter and liver pate starter which were delicious. For our mains my daughter had spaghetti carbonara which she found a little too creamy but my king prawn and chilli linguine with rocket was delicious. To finish our meal we had Mini Egos which consisted of tea for my daughter with Eton Mess and coffee for me with mini crême brûlée. Our waiter was lovely, our food arrived promptly and we enjoyed sitting by the window and watching the work go by. Very pleasant meal and ambience. Definitely go again.

Myself and my partner went for a lovely meal on Friday evening. Everything from the service to the cocktails was amazing . We had steak which was cooked to perfection and as we’d asked . Polite friendly staff , would definitely re visit !

Recently went to Ego for my Birthday. The food was absolutely lovely. Very tasty and fresh and beautifully presented. As it was my Birthday I had been sent a voucher and was made to feel very special. A free Bucks Fizz each, a table looking out at Minster Pool even Happy Birthday piped on my dessert plate. Jack our waiter was really lovely and kept mentioning it was my Birthday and he was so polite and happy. All in all a really nice treat. Thank you, and with the voucher the price was very reasonable.

Amazing food, with a lovely setting, staff were friendly and helpful and added to an all round atmosphere, especially our waitress Kiera looking forward to booking again.We had bread & olive & halloumi fries to startA Steak main & a Moroccan falafel main, finished off with a brownie and frangipani raspberry tart. And a few cheeky cocktails. Every meal they brought past looks delicious can’t wait to come back and try something different.So good the manger noticed my tag hanging out I forgot to cut off she came and told me discreetly lovely place with great staff. Sunday lunchtime me, my wife and mother in law went for lunch. Great atmosphere, covid friendly and the food was lush. Lamb Koftas and Gambas a pil pil starters. Mains of Sea Bass, Salmon Fillet and hanging Mixed Kebab and deserts of Treacle tart , ice cream and Lemon Tart, all food was superb. The day was only bettetred by the excellent service we received from Lola, Just back working at Ego and a credit to the staff, well done. This restaurant is a favourite of mine and never ceases to amaze thank you all

Came here to celebrate my friends birthday and a belated celebration for my own. As requested they reserved a table overlooking the river and unexpectedly gave us each a glass of bubbly on arrival which was lovely. The food was amazing and we had great service, will definitely return.

First visit, although passed by many times meaning to call in. Had a seat looking over the pool at lunch time. Excellent choice of food on the menu and equally tasty. Full marks all round . Only complaint, like others have said, the music was very loud and made conversation and hearing staff difficult. I can accept, perhaps , in the evening when more of a wine bar too but at lunch a little lower would be fine

The service was impeccable and the girl who served us too.The food wasnt to their usual standard which was disappointing.All our meals were luke warm. One of tge party was ill after too.

We are not local and I came with my wife and son from London to see local sightseeings. We felt discriminated against and refused entry because we looked Eastern European. The incident happened on Sunday 4th of July around 5:30pmStaff told us there are no tables available at all although the place was half empty. After we had meal at the different restaurant nearby and walked past Ego restaurant there were still many empty tables.Local customs might be different, but If there are no tables available immediately, restaurant tells customers the expected waiting time. Not just refuse them entry altogether. As British citizens we have felt frustrated and disappointed about such treatment. We were made to feel like second class citizens.Britain is multinational and multicultural country. No one should be treated with disrespect and discriminated against.

Visited Ego yesterday for a meal with friends.I’d had to change our table numbers a couple of times and when I Spoke with the manager Kayleigh she was always so friendly and helpful.We ate from the celebration menu and the food was beautiful.Waiting staff were polite, attentive and happy. A credit to the restaurant.Couldn’t fault anything and I would recommend it to anyone. We’ll definitely be back again.

Six of us have just been subject to a ridiculously high level of noise which reduced our conversation around the table to an exercise in lip reading. The general hubbub of chat is one thing, albeit that there are no soft furnishings to deaden the sound, but the completely unnecessary music being played at an equally unnecessarily high volume made the situation considerably worse. We asked for the music to be turned down - but to no avail. Even when several of the tables had been vacated and the customers had left, there was no reduction in sound level. It was almost impossible to hear and understand the waiters who, quite rightly, we’re wearing a mask.Our experience was worsened by very poor food. Two of us had the cod loin and, if we had been blindfolded it would not have been possible to list the items we were eating. It was exceedingly bland, very over cooked and of a distinctly inferior standard. The others had dishes which were no better than average. I clearly have much higher expectations and a higher standard than this place can hope to achieve.To be fair, the staff were friendly and helpful - when you could hear them! But the service was very slow. They told us we had the table for two hours. We came very close to exceeding the two hours - not because of anything on our part but because the service was so slow.It goes without saying that I will not be going to Ego again.

Went for family meal today, warm welcome, our table was in a lovely area, our host Luke was fantastic very friendly, service was good and food was delicious as always.

First visit to the Lichfield branch, and first impression was how clean and tidy it was, we sat in the far corner with a view of the river which was a bonus. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We ordered off the set menu and food was served quickly and efficiently. All in all a good experience and we will definitely return.

This is a restaurant we have been to so many times over the past 8-10 years. It never disappoints. The food is fabulous and the service is wonderful. Our young waiter, Tyler, was fun and knowledgeable and did an awesome job. This was a meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary and they made it a lovely evening. Thank you.

Love Ego, always have, but the noise levels last night meant that conversation was well nigh impossible especially as we were seated next to a party of a screaming hen party. I really wish Ego would stop putting small tables alongside big party tables (not sure how Covid safe it was either) and turn the music down a bit! Our waitress had to pull her mask down to make herselft heard, not ideal.Otherwise, lovely food, very nice waitress (when we could hear her) and still one of my favourite places to eat in Lichfield. They just need to do something about the ridiculous noise levels so everyone can communicate better!

Five of us enjoyed an excellent lunch to celebrate two seventieth birthdays. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We felt COVID safe and our meals were very good. No complaints whatsoever.

Me and my sister went to ego on a Friday to celebrate me graduating university. We had amazing food and really enjoyed the food. The service was amazing and they made sure my allergies were taken care of. They were super attentive and overall the best food I’ve had in a while. I had garlic mushrooms to start with a prawn and chilli linguine and my sister had a chorizo starter with the pork belly as her main. Definitely going to return and recommend to everyone!

We came to Ego for a date night. The food was amazing and the service was great. I ordered the sea bass fillets and my girlfriend ordered the Moroccan chicken, both were delicious. We would happily visit again and definitely recommend to others.

Dined here previously when it was outside only but so much better inside. It was my gorgeous granddaughter’s first birthday. Staff couldn’t have been more accommodating with space for high chair and pushchair. Food was of a high standard, as expected; good value for money. The highlight was Annie,s presentation of a birthday plate with chocolate sauce with fruit and a candle which she loved. Highly recommended. Booked already for next month!

Very busy and despite this the staff were excellent. That’s the end of the good stuff. Long menu with various cultures represented. Steak frites, pasta, Moroccan and more which sound great but……my pasta with prawns was eminently forgettable. There wasn’t a great deal of it, what there was included quite a lot of oil and overcooked pasta. Not so bad as to send it back, but just bland and lacking “soul”. The side salad was 90 percent cucumber bits, one half of a cherry tomato and a couple of bits of something leafy. The dressing wasn’t clearly recognisable as anything. The french, Italians and any others would be insulted. My dessert was a mess of an Eton mess. Small portion but it was whipped cream with a cheap tasting sauce on vanilla ice cream. Nothing to commend it at all.It is only the staff which got them a three star rating, not two. My suggestions for improvement in the title of this review.

We ordered a takeaway as a celebration and spent quite a lot of money and what we got for that money was awful. Our breaded camembert had melted out of the crust which meant we didn't actually get any camembert. I understand that the transport home of some food can't be helped, but really if this happens then they shouldn't put it on the menu. We then had a chicken and chorizo kebab and they didn't put any chorizo in or a pitta/wrap. We also had a paella which was so overcooked it was mushy. All of this came to almost £60 so I complained to them because it's what I would do if I was in a restaurant, the came back to me and basically said 'tough' and didn't even address any other part of my email apart from the breaded camembert.

The food and attentive staff were excellent. My wife and I couldn't have had a better service and the food came piping hot

We have used Ego many times as we live lose by. For Fathers day there was a 3 course set menu but with around 6 choices for each course. We felt Covid secure whilst in there. The waiting staff were lovely and the food as always was cooked to perfection. A lovely little touch at the end of the meal, they gave my husband a bottle of beer for Fathers day and they gave me a small box of truffles for Mothers day (they couldn't open on Mothers day due to lockdown). Well done Ego, you always add those little finishing touches.

We are dinner here on Sunday evening. The food and service were very good indeed and the views across the water outstanding. The only reservation we had was the music which unfortunately was anything but "background". Far too loud and horrible anyway. Apart from this very recommendable.

Ego is a sure choice. The food is well prepared, staff very professional. This is the first time we went as not part of a bigger group. First of all, the restaurant is big and airy with nice view for some seats. Very clean, it can also be quite loud.The staff is all young and very good - attentive and professional without being over friendly.The food: my food was absolutely perfect. I particularly enjoyed the salmon with tarragon. My partner's food was also very nice but a couple of details could have been improved: the so-called "garlic mushroom" had probably never seen any garlic. The Iberian pork had a lot of black pepper, a fact not disclosed on the menu. My partner thought black pepper and porc didn't really go well together. These details are easily forgiven. We had a lovely time and will be back.

Visited for afternoon tea for a long overdue catch up with friends.The afternoon tea was lovely and they catered for a gluten free diner among us.They were COVID compliant and we felt very safe.I have been to Ego several times for different meals and it never disappoints

Great location next to Minster Pool towards Lichfield Cathedral.Very lively and noisy on a Friday night with lots of younger diners.Restaurant cleverly designed to maximise views with semi circular surrounding windows.Decent food although the mixed kebabs were a bit dry and they weren't able to exclude the Chorizo as they are pre made.Would have benefitted from having some vegetables.Garlic bread portions were huge - waiter should have told us when ordering 2Disappointing no draft real ale.Slow service. Needed to chase several times.Might return but not at a peak time

Arrived a little early than we had booked for but our table was ready. Greeted by very pleasant young lady who told us who would be looking after us …Joe. Another lovely and polite young man. Water brought to our table, drink order taken, followed by food order. Couldn’t fault our food which was presented well. On leaving, I used the ‘facilities’ only to find them not the best which was disappointing. The toilet seats need replacing, never mind cleaning, quite disgusting for such a nice restaurant. Still given a very good mark but not excellent.

As usual here the noise levels are out of control. Why does the management (who in their misguided way think this creates a buzz) feel the need to add piped music to an already noisy atmosphere? Service average, food very mediocre, bread stale, soup tepid, paella stodgy and so on. Nothing to make us want to return but if you like chain standard food, groups of rowdy women and shouting at each other to make yourself heard you will be in your element.

We met friends, who we hadn't seen for too long & chose Lichfield as it was halfway between us & Lichfield is a lovely place to visit with it's lovely cathedral & oldie worldie streets. Spoilt for chose where to have lunch, we reviewed Ego Mediterranean & decided on it for the chose of menu & location. We weren't disappointed. We had the fixed menu & had ample to eat, the quality & presentation of the meal was exceptional, the staff were attentive & happy, making for an enjouyable reunion with friends over lunch.

This is my favourite restaurant in Lichfield. Excellent food, great service and very good offers and discounts. Had dinner with friends on Monday and enjoyed a first class meal , service by Beth our waitress was faultless. Won’t be long before we’re back again.

Enjoyed a Fantastic night at Ego's ! Lovely food! Very friendly polite staff with very good service and humour. Made the night more fun. And even went the extra mile to play a little prank on a friend with us. Kayleigh, front of house, was brilliant in attending all are needs with her fun humour. Neve was a really great waitress, very polite and lovely.

I went to Ego with my husband for a date night- our first date night in over 18 months! As someone who has been apprehensive about eating out since the start of the pandemic, it felt very safe. The atmosphere was brilliant, Staff were all wearing masks, Service was prompt and the food was beautiful! Will be definitely be visiting again!

Nice restaurant professionally run, but they really do need to get to grips with their butchers. They get great steaks sometimes and rubbish others. You can't accept that from a restaurant whose majority sales must be steaks. Why eat at a professional restaurant when you can buy better steak from a supermarket.Get it right please. It will make a lot of difference to your customers and ultimately your profits.

I went with my husband for Birthday lunch. As always food was excellent I had Moroccan lamb and my husband had the the Sea Bass fish. Both were delicious. The staff were very attentive and because of the set up we felt really safe. It is good to eat out where the staff are so friendly.

We went for afternoon tea. It was a bit noisy but that is the only fault . The staff were lovely from the minute we entered the door. We were shown to our table overlooking the Cathedral and Minster pool. The afternoon tea was lovely and fresh. With good choices. Shame you have to pay for a second drink. This is one of our favourite restaurants in Lichfield . They also do a good lunch menu

Despite the additional regulations we had a lovely meal for my Granddaughter’s birthday. The staff at Ego are super and the food is lovely too.

We booked this restaurant as a first planned day out since before lockdown. Easy to book and online menu with prices. The food was lovely and very reasonable priced. All the staff were polite and helpful.

My fiancé and I visited Ego for a birthday meal, food was lovely, really nice atmosphere and brilliant service from our waiter Joe.

This the first time I’ve been to ego since lockdown lifted and the service was 100% to a pointHowever my colleague had asked for a table by the window overlooking the lake and had confirmed it earlier on that day as it was for a birthday but when we got there we had been bumped and some other party was sitting at our table - we did some free fizz and some nibbles but it was disappointing The guy who served us I couldn’t fault but that’s where it ended I ordered a steak and when it arrived it was coldI sent it back to be asked did I just want it reheated or a fresh one cooked! The replacement wasn’t much better and was bland and chewy and to be honest I didn’t want the embarrassment of sending it back again The food used to be good bu sadly I wasn’t impressed with the changes Would I go again? - possibly at some point but not for a while I’m afraid which is a shame

The afternoon tea was terrible.You only get three sandwiches (if you can call them that)what don't even make up 1 slice of bread put together.Didnt even taste that great either

Where do I start? I'd booked this in April for my Mom's Birthday so we were all looking forward to it!We arrived at the restaurant and was taken to our table for 3, even though we'd booked for 4. The waitress said I'll just have to lay another setting!When she came back, we asked if we could sit on another table a bit nicer over looking the pool. We pointed to a table but she said someone's sitting there, we said no the other one. She replied it's really busy there even though she's seated us next to the ramp walkway. She agreed to seat us there and all was good and we sat down to order. We upgraded to the prosecco afternoon tea. The prosecco arrived and didn't taste normal, almost like watered down with no alcohol. We called the waiter and he said they might've got mixed up with the alcohol free one!He took them away to change them and they were much better!The service from the waiter we had was excellent! Very understanding and considerate, his name was Luke ( a credit to Ego) Then our afternoon tea arrived, it was shocking! The sandwiches were granary bread and so dry and stale! We asked if we could speak to the manager (Kayleigh) I believe! We explained to her and she wasn't very pleasant and started squeezing the sandwiches and didn't think they were that bad and said it's where the crust has been cut off! Really? My sister and I have been in retail for years and certainly know how to treat a customer and that certainly wasn't the correct manner in the way she dealt with us!! So she took them away and brought more but this time it was on white bread, obviously the brown was stale! My niece doesn't even eat white bread so we left what few sandwiches there! We couldn't even be bothered to say again!! We then tried the scone which was also quite dry, but I did actually eat that, but my Mom didn't! We left all of the cakes and then called the waiter over (Luke) to say we are so disappointed in everything! He spoke to Kayleigh and came back and said we won't be charging you and did kindly offer us a cocktail but we refused and found another restaurant to eat at!It spoilt our get together for my Mom's belated78th Birthday and she felt quite upset by it all!I've been coming here for years since you opened and always love the atmosphere and food!I do feel like it's really gone down hill!!!Sad really as we've had many celebrations here.Kindest RegardsPaula

We have regularly visit ego over the years, but this was our worst visit by far.The service was very slow, our server seemed to be missing from our area the bulk of the time. We had been seated for 20 minutes before a drink arrived. The dishes which arrived did not contain all of the ingredients listed on the menu, we didn’t complain because we had waited so long and we were hungry and one of us is diabetic and was needing some food. Before we went we read the Ego COVID guidance, which the patrons kept to but the staff didn’t, numerous servers brought the food to tables and they gave it to individuals, not a common point.To cap a poor evening, when I went to pay, they refused my zAmex card due to a change of policy which they had not informed guests of.There did not appear to be anyone supervising things to whom to take up our concerns with. It will be a long time before we return. A once excellent restaurant gone to an also ran!

Anniversary meal after the latest ending of lockdown. The restaurant was reasonable busy on Tuesday evening with covid safety at the forefront. The atmosphere was good and food and service superb. Statrers of Lamb Kofta and Choeizo Frito followed by mains of Moroccan Lamb and Moroccan Chicken were lush. Only one pudding of Creme Brulee again superb. Various drinks ordered and delivered in a timely manner meant the night was excellent. Apart from great atmosphere, food and general ambience a special mention to our server Luke C , very attentive and superb service , we will be back well done and thanks for a great evening.

Been here a lot since it opened and was so nice to see it busy again. Had a birthday voucher sent during lockdown which I couldn’t use saw Kayleigh the manager and she honoured it which was really nice. Staff pleasant and the food was lovely. Not seen my friend since pre Covid as she was shielding so nice to have a few cocktails !

Midweek lunch, window seat overlooking the pond, good atmosphere and first class service, third visit to Lichfield restaurant as Nuneaton our local, highly recommend

This restaurant is one I’ve visited multiple times. It’s either brilliant or awful, depending on the day. The service is always great, but the food, particularly meats, seems to vary in quality so much. When it’s a good day however, great place.

So glad to be back at our favourite restaurant. Super friendly staff and an excellent menu all surrounded by a great atmosphere. Perfect!

Really enjoyed our family lunch here. Was very busy as expected for a Saturday, but our waiter (Luke) was really attentive and chatty. Food was nice, also a good range of cocktails and mocktails!

This was our first meal out, post-lockdown. Was really excited to be actually going out for dinner and it was our anniversary. Was a bit disappointed when we arrived and were told not to order two courses because our table was only booked for 1hr 15 mins and that it would be best to just have an aperitif and main...."because a main takes 45 mins to cook, as it's made to order"I booked online and that was how long the booking slot was for...should i have booked two slots!? I didn't bother with an aperitif as I did feel a bit rushed and didn't have a second drink for the same reason.Anyway the meal was fine, although my husbands was a little on the luke warm side. Our young waitress was really lovely. The music was a bit loud and intrusive however. It was ok for a midweek dinner but don't think we'll be going back.

We dined here on Monday when we booked we mentioned one off the party was a wheelchair user when we arrived the young man took us straight to a table that was great for us , he was also our server for the evening he had a great attitude the food was excellent it was our 4th visit we will definitely return

Me and my friend Ellie came for a meal and a couple of drinks on Wednesday afternoon, and we could not fault it at all! The food was amazing, but Luke and Dom really made the afternoon! What a lovely group of young gentlemen xx

Regulars at Egos but oh so good to be back What a fabulous time our group had on Monday our first time out IN Food was divine as always and it is such a varied & large menu to choose from. Great size portions and excellent service, efficient and very friendly staffSuper efficient and friendly staff even better value as two courses £16.95 all day and wine & prosecco half price. Whats not to like? Felt very safe with all the coved measures in place. 3 of us had missed birthdays and 2 had had 2 years of lockdown birthdays. So it felt even more special. Thanks again and well done to the team for making our return to dining feel so nice and normal. 

Ego is one of my favourite restaurants in Lichfield. The staff are so friendly and attentive, the food is consistently gorgeous and the atmosphere is always vibrant.

Arrived 5 minutes early to be told our table wasn’t ready. Stood at door 10 mins then told to go round by toilets to sit on bar stools only to find the other 2 in our party were already seated at the table! Took over an hour for mains to arrive and was told this was because with DIDN’T have a starter. No idea how they worked that out! Chased and chased. Told final time just being plated would be 4-5 minutes. 18 minutes later arrived. Was good when it did but my god we could have started eating the table by this time. They had no stock of a load of the wines. Very loud in there like sitting in a factory canteen. Won’t be rushing back.

the overall ambience of the restaurant was good, however one thing i felt was the waitress was rushing over to bring our main course, and must have interrupted the table at least 2-3 times to check if we finished our starter.Sharing board starter was really good , however my main course(Paella) was undercooked.Because we have had authentic paella from Spain, this one doesnt come close to that .However my husband said his meat skewers were good , so were the dessert-Brownie sundae.

What a joy to be able to eat out. Plenty of space between tables and good service and excellent food. A family meal, there was six of us, six different mains chosen, all first rate. Highly recommended and a lovely location.

Ego forever has my heart. I couldn't have imagined spending my first lunch anywhere else!From the moment you walk in and you are greeted with personality and individuality. Ordering is always the fun part, I never know what to have but of course there are firm favourites..If you time it right, there's always time to relish in happy hour and a dessert at the end if there's room! Staff are amazing as to be expected. Thank you!
