Good wasn’t good: more bread and yogurt and only few pieces of chicken. At the end expensive bill. That’s not fair

I was recommended to go to this restaurant by a very good friend of the family. The food was all bread and Yoghurt and very little bits of chicken My soup was cold and my wife garlic mushrooms was very little In comparison with Istanbul?Efes Mangal is very low standard The price was very high not good standard for the money i paid . I m not happy with food but good servis and very polite waiter

The staff were friendly and helpful and didn't keep asking if everything is all right which is a pleasent change. The food was delicious and hot and presented nicely. The atmosphere was just right, there was music on in the back ground which was just right

Went for my 50th Birthday with a large group, absolutely loved it the food was amazing…we had the jumbo sharing platter between 4 of us and was more than enough food the lamb chop was so nice I could of ate 6 of them!!…the bread for starters was delicious too…staff were great will definitely be coming back 👍🏼

Efes Mangal Barbecue is mine and my family favourite Turkish food 😋, there's no other place in Leicestershire that can beat this place when it comes to great food. The staff are always very welcoming and friendly and very polite, the service is second to none and the food is fantastic and we've repeatedly have takeaway and we've also had meals here. So if you are looking for somewhere to enjoy a good Turkish restaurant, then you must check out this great place 👍🏿.

Waited over 45 minutes for our food, chicken was uncooked and one chicken wing still had blood in it. Although we got discount, we were several dissatisfied with how long it took to receive our food. And personally although I usually like the place, I probably won't be coming back.

Usually when we dine in we have no problems at all and would give it 5 stars. This time we ordered a takeaway and they got the order wrong. We ordered veg kebab and they gave us mousaka. There was no chips with the wings. We also ordered extra chips but they gave us rice. We were not impressed with the takeaway and will make us think twice about coming in again. Shame really as the food is usually really nice here.

Amazing food -full of flavour starters and charcoal-grilled meat! Before we got our orders, we received complimentary freshly made Turkish bread plus garlic mayo, black and green olives and hand-made chilli sauce! Great service and friendly staff. Fantastic atmosphere too! Highly recommended Turkish restaurant!

We absolutely love the food here very tasty but unfortunately when having the food delivered it takes a long time to arrive which is fine but when it does arrive it tends to be rather cold and we usually pay for priority delivery. It's ashame as it could be incredible as the flavours are beautiful but everytime it seems to be on the cold side.

We tasted Efes Barbeque for the first time, and their food impressed me, especially the bread which was very delicious. 🤤 I will definitely come again.👍🏻

Enjoyed a delicious meal here this evening. Menu was both varied and appetising. Food was freshly prepared and cooked with generous portion sizes. Service was excellent: amicable, helpful, and courteous. Atmosphere was welcoming, friendly and relaxed. Price was very reasonable. Will be returning soon! Highly recommend.

I’ve been a couple of times before and it was alright but the last time it was completely different. The food and overall taste were completely different. It’s not worth the amount we had payed for. If you’re spending £170 for food for 5 people not including drinks you would expect it to be really tasty food but definitely not worth it for the price payed.

I had a good experience here the other day. I enjoyed the starters we were welcomed with and I liked the Irish coffee. The serving was the best, the waiter, called Claudia did a wonderful job at accommodating us, she was fast, had a very good customer service and she made our experience better! When I walked in I immediately got served. I loved the hygiene Decorations were bright and clean. Lots of spaces. Very vibrant and colourful. The 2 waiters who served me Buse and Claudia were very efficient friendly talkative opened and quick . They kept me company noticing that I was alone. Made me feel very welcoming. The tables and chairs were very clean and organised. Good hygiene mat under the plate. Toilets were very clean and smelt fresh. Hospitality was incredible offered me Turkish Tea and chips which was on the house. I look forward to coming again. And to see the lovely beautiful servers again.

The customer service is horrible. I booked a VIP Reservation table and they charged me £30 per hour . It’s not first time when I ate there and never paid for booking. Instead of the consumption what we made there they charge for table. I’m never going in this place anymore. Tony.

We used to stay beside this restaurant and we always used to love to go to this restaurant since it was established sometime in 2014. Whenever we visit Leicester nowadays, we try to visit this place too and trust me it never disappointed us. We are very fond of Mediterranean foods, here we always gets best breads & dips. We just love it. Whatever we ordered so far, every dish we found amazing. I posted few glimpses ordered this time, but to be honest I would recommend try each dish. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Quickly they serve here and always come with a smile to help you. Ambience is very nice, plenty of seating area. This time we went on the hottest day in UK, I would prefer to see some more air conditioner or fan inside the restaurant during hot summer day as it was getting very warm inside. Roadside parking is available nearby, within 5-7 minutes or lesser walking distance.

Nice place. Service was good with nice atmosphere. Got the mixed grill platter which was ok but for what you get for the price it is a bit steep and this is for 2 people at most. If you go to an Indian restaurant you could basically get the same thing in the form of a Sizzler mix platter for around 15 pounds. Some of the ribs of lamb weren't that big and the chicken wings were average at best.

Went here last week and had to put a review. Food was massively overpriced for what you actually get on your plate. The menu is misleading with items listed not actually included with the main dish. So your mains will arrive with a few pieces of chicken and a massive amount of salad for over £13 each. Much better authentic Turkish restaurant in Leicester, I would definitely avoid this one.

I recently dined at a Turkish restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The authentic Turkish cuisine was a delightful treat, with flavours that transported me to the heart of Turkey. The inclusion of Turkish beer and tea added an extra layer of authenticity to the experience. The staff was incredibly helpful and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience. I left with a satisfied palate and a desire to return for another taste of Turkey. The only downside was that it was hard to get a parking space.

I would personally say Efes Mangal is top 3 in Leicester for Turkish food. Every time I have been here the food has tasted great, the consistency after all these years has continued. The staff are always friendly and it is usually quick service, even on busy evenings.

The best Turkish restaurant in Leicester! We visited for the first time and had the best service from the manager and all staff super polite and attentive, they took care of us and we enjoyed the experience very well. All the food was clean and very well cooked especially the efes kofte we recommend you try that as it is the best we’ve had so far. It has to be one of the best restaurants and thank you for the exceptional service.

This the second time iv been there and ill saying its the best turkesh restaurant in Leicester. Chicken is fresh n tasty, i had the veg option and that was nice. Rice was nice, down to salad n that was really nice. Service top. Ill definitely be back. 👍

Was recommended so we try it from uber eat. Will never order again. It was cold. It taste funny and the meat taste as if went bad. The shared started was soggy. And to top ot up the chilli sauce smell and taste bad, it went off. Also the food was ready and pickup within 10mins I order. Definitely not freshly made. My husband puke all his food and now am having a bad stomach cramp. This restaurant need to sort out its food safety. People will have food poisoning from it.

I've loved Efes since it opened, the first Turkish grill restaurant in the area if memory serves me right. Over the years I've been for dinners with my partner, friends, large groups of friends and family, and always loved it. Obviously the grilled meats are the highlight for most people, but seafood dishes are available and there's a good choice of vegetarian options. I'd especially recommend mucver (starter) and the vegetarian kebab. Service is always good and prices are reasonable.

This is not turkish food! Really bad experience do not recommend. The rice pudding was off. The only good thing was the bread.

Nice atmosphere. I had Adana Kebab as main and dolma and saksuka as mezes. I am sorry to to say none of them tasted good. Staff is friendly but unorganized. My main was served just after receiving the mezes even though we talked about it. Place serves alcoholic drinks. In the future, I may visit the place only because they serve Raki.

Pop'd in for a quick dinner, the food was really good and we were served quickly (which was great as we had cinema seats yo get to). In my opinion it is the best Turkish restaurant I've been to in the area, we will go back again.

When we got there our table was a mess and still everything was on there from the last customers. We waited over an hour for our food. Was a party off 12. The easiest chicken nuggets and chips had to wait another 20 mins on top. None of the staff came and explained what was going on. We had to go and find somebody to ask. The food was nothing special at all. Very bland i could have cooked it better myself. Dont think we will be going again.

Efes is my new go-to place when dining out with a big group! I have been here twice now, and both times, they have accommodated us. We can book in advance. We were able to bring a cake and eat it too 😋 Thank you Efes!

Good food if you like your bbq style Turkish

The restaurant was a little cold on the evening we visited but the food was fabulous and I'll certainly go back, I'll just be sure to wear a jumper if it's cold out lol

Good food but they just ripped us off. We've ordered soups (2 adult portions) among other things as there was 5 of us and when they've brought us the soup the portions were ridicolously small. My children would eat that and won't even feel full. Then, in any Turkish restaurant while you wait for your food a small appetizer is brought to you. Usually is bread, olives and 2 types of dips. Up until here is was all good but.... the soups we've ordered came also with bread so I have asked the staff where the bread for the soups were and I was told that what we thought was the appetizer was actually the break for the soups which didn't make any sense as it was brought just after ordering and while we were waiting for the food. Looking at any other table in the restaurant, everybody had the appetizer we have had so we knew they were pulling our leg. So I had to order extra bread, pay for it and leave this place knowing that wasn't right. Poor service and I would not go back. Efes Mangal is all your fault, if you don't look after all your customers you are going to lose many more. For instance I will continue going to places such as AROMA SHAWARMA in Humberstone Rd as they treat us always way better.

Lovely food. Fair prices, soft drinks quite expensive. The Asian male waiter with glasses. Was rude when he first served us, laughing when I asked for diet lemonade. The female waitress was very polite though and the portion sizes are nice and big.

Nice food, very nice flavours and freshness. However, the lamb shank was disappointing. The mashed potato tasted like a packet one as it was watery. Lamb shank was cooked nice but there was no Turkish seasoning, tasted like an English pub roast style.

Avoid the mash potato!!!!!bin here 4 or 5 times had the same thing every time (lamb shank) always bin well presented taste amazing iv even recommended it to quite a few people but what I got last night can only be described as a dish of slop it had more resemblance to rice pudding when I told them about it they said that is how they do the mash ever time so it bacixly came down to me paying around £20 for a lamb shank on it own and everything elce was unedable I didn't want the meal for free or anything but as they didn't care I won't be comeing back

As the event was a baby shower, we asked if we could decorate our table/area and it was no problem. Table service good and the food was lovely, I'd only had food from here as a takeaway during lockdown. Four of us decided to have the meat sharing platter Tender range of meats, fabulous bread and a very ample salad serving too. Enjoyable evening and money well spent 😁

Not been to a Turkish for a while so we went to EFES mangal. First time visit, service was really good, greeted straightaway and taken to the table. We ordered the mix platter for 2/3 people. we were served turkish bread and some mezes complimentary. The Turkish bread has some seasoning on it and tasted really good, something different from other Turkish restaurants. The main food had chicken/lamb Shish, lamb/chicken kofte, lamb ribs and chicken wings on a bed of rice. The food to be honest was ok, nothing great and have had better. The price for the platter was £38.50 which is quite dear in my opinion. Overall ok

Very overpriced for the quality of the food as it wasn’t nice or fresh. Just over seasoned to mask the actual quality of the meat. The bill was £100+ for 3, that’s ridiculous.
