EFES BBQ RESTAURANT in Northampton

Great quality, hygiene and quick service. Best option in the area for a quick, hygienic and delicious meal.

We usually always order from Efes, but last week we decided not to order from them anymore. We order food for £90 and receive the sauces only at the bottom of the box. They increased the prices from one order to another and reduced the food. It is not nice for a frequent customer to experience something like this.

I've been waiting ages for my food

Ordered takeout for delivery. Food like he warm, rice chewy like it had been frozen and reheated, flat bread dry. Chicken tasted chewy also. Salad was basically onions a few bits of cucumber drowned in picked red cabbage and juice, measly amount of chips and wrap had a small sausage. Do not recommend.

Woman on the phone is rude and can’t understand anything anyone says. Waited an hour and a half for my food When I called up they thought I hadn’t ordered yet and told me the wait would be 20 minutes. When I told her I had been waiting for an hour and a half she told me she’ll ring the delivery driver. She never called me back. Then I called and she said it would be 30 minutes! Once the food arrived it was cold. That night everyone who ate the food had diarrhoea and a bad belly! I called up to tell them the next day and she said ‘so what’s your problem?’ ‘Oh is that it then’ then ended the phone. NEVER ordering from here again! £50 down the drain!

Every time I eat here I order the Chicken Durum, which is a work of art in food. Simple things are hard to get right, and the fact that their Durums put any other Kebab to shame is proof - just order the Durum version of anything and you’ll be glad you did!

Was working so paid to have a chicken kebab, salad and chips delivered. What I actually got was two pieces of chicken on a very small piece of pitta, a stack of luke-warm chips and a small pot of salad which was basically onions. I managed to pick out a few pieces of lettuce and tomato. Cost over £13 with delivery. Very poor quality.

No longer Halal!!! Ever since this place had a revamp it went down hill. Not sure if this place has a new owner but after the revamp the prices went up and the portion size went down, The food tasted more bland and then the place was no longer HMC certified and then only recently it is no longer Halal. Many of you may not know this so if you follow a Halal diet be careful.

You deleted my review, why?? Everything I said was completely honest. Anyone reading this please do not dine in or order for delivery! Food is very bland and overpriced, staff are miserable and rude. I had eaten here with a friend and we both hated the entire experience as soon as we stepped in… staff are so creepy and weird. Demanded we give our debit cards to him so that he can put it in the card reader HIMSELF very bizarre & we insisted on taking the rest of the food home only to be chucked away in the bin because it was disgusting! But did not want to be rude. Please work on your people skills and cooking… skills. Do not recommend folks!

Amazing place with tasty Turkish food and fantastic customer service. I go here at least twice a month and really love the food there. Very authentic Turkish food and the staff make you feel at home. In the photo is a dish I had last time called Centik Special, from the Chef’s special section of the menu.

Food arrived luke warm, half the order missing and had to wait the same amount of time for them to re deliver the rest of the order, meaning we had to eat at different times. Donna meat doesn’t taste great. Would not recommend or order again.

We had a big order and was delivered when estimated. Everyone agreed the food was excellent and we all had a variety of dishes. Will definitely be ordering again!

Bang average food anyway but made even worse when you wait over 90 mins for food that never shows up! Called twice to be told rudely its on its way! No wonder its estimated delivery time was so much quicker than the towns decent Turkish restaurants!

The food is ok, the staff are friendly and polite. Pretty good facility. You will be served bread with red onion vinegar sauce complimentarily as a starter while waiting for your food to come. I personally like the food to be more spicy. The rice is just a bit too dry. The portion is pretty big, which suits the price.

Absolutely terrible, I ordered food for delivery and after my food had not come well after an hour I called the restaurant to find out my order had never even been processed and therefore not cooked and gave an excuse of the order not being printed

Exactly how other answers I was try yesterday night take away and the food was with no taste at all is not anymore what it was before, less food an more expensive less quality and I was orders some food and I get something else so please check if you still buy anymore from them....

This restaurant started well! The food was great and portion sizes good. Now they are terrible. Food no good and the portion sizes terrible for the bloated prices. Will never order again

Ordered minced lamb on the bed of roasted aubergines. Received lamb shish on feta cheese. I was quite disappointed as minced lamb kebab and aubergines are my favorite. I ate the food as I was starving. Interesting dish but would of loved to receive what I ordered. Baklava was not fresh at all. I can see their food quality is better than most take aways but this time I am disappointed as paid 17 pounds for a tiny dish.

We had a takeaway and ordered the platter for 2 people , the kisir and the yohurt. This gave us enough for 3 people to have a generous meal. The meat was delicious and tender. I would recommend the platter in particular. It came with delicious Turkish bread, rice and salad.

Decent meal. Nothing outstanding but nothing to complain about either. We were given the order meant for a different group and after explaining to the gentleman that it was a wrong order, he came back to pick it up, took it to the back of the kitchen and then took it to the original owner as if it was just coming out of the kitchen. That made me feel uncomfortable in this era of COVID19.

We ordered two platters at 7:30pm for collection on a Wednesday evening. Everything went downhill from there. - Adana kebab was missing from both platters, we phoned up the restaurant and the man on the phone denied it?! - The portion size for this platter has significantly reduced since previous orders. - We ordered 4 portions of Bulgar wheat, the restaurant never phoned us to let us know they ran out, so they substituted for white turkish long grain rice instead. These containers were maximum half full. (Pictured) - The lamb chops were heavily salty. This was a *£62* order. I feel robbed. It is a great shame as we have recently moved to the area and it was highly recommended by multiple family and friends. I could tell the food was tasty however, after all of the commotion it went cold and our moods soured, ruining most of our evening.

Wow just amazing food! I was looking for a place to order some Turkish food and i realised that there is only 1 place in Northampton that serves decent quality of Turkish food. Thanks to Sado (I don't think that's his name but they call him that) and Bilal and of course the big boss Adem for their effort to make this place awesome!! The best Turkish restaurant in Northampton by far.

Experiencing a new kind of cuisine isn't always a pleasant experience. But Efes proved that a new experience can be a good one. The Efes special is a good start if going there for the 1st time. The food is simply heavenly.

I was abit apprehensive about ordering this cuisine for a 'home take away' but it was the best decision i made. The food arrived on time 45-1hr PERFECTLY packed and HOT enough to eat. The portions were just as generous as dining in. The food tasted really fresh and the turkish rice pudding was amazingly nice as i never had it before if u havent tried it you must...I had to write a review as it was amazing...i have bad experiences with my usual takeaways but this was really first class...thank you x naz

Good authentic Turkish food, reasonably priced, with staff who are always friendly and welcoming. Have been here for lunch several times. Would definitely recommend giving this place a try if you've never been. If you've been here before, you probably don't need me to convince you.

In the past had some great kebabs from here, the best in town and reasonable prices. Don't know if I would go back now until they get their hygiene rating up, just found out they have been rated with only one star since September 2018.

They have a 1 star rating from the food standards agency.

Went with family - never been before. I can’t recommend enough - the food was so fresh and high quality - service was incredible staff was so friendly and helpful. Felt like such a homely and comftable environment. Near town center. Such a good selection on the menu aswell - also prices was so reasonable. Was all around thoroughly impressed. Will definitely return.

Disgusted with this establishment, ordered for the first time today for collection, got the food home only to discover that one of the sauces included in the bag was covered in MOLD!!! Rang the restaurant and they didn’t seem terribly bothered and said if we wanted a refund we would have to come back to store. Poor customer service, poor level of food safety, completely put us off eating anything else in the bag. For your own safety DO NOT EAT HERE!!

I have visited this place a few times, there is no attention to customers. Not a very warm welcome. I believe the next door is owned by the same person so they have a door dividing the two places, they are too busy talking to the staff in the other place rather than looking at customers with in their own restaurant. We were ready to order but staff to busy having a laugh. The concentration is soo bad that they even served us warm tap water. The food changed a few times. The meat is very chewy. The place needs a good clean.

No alcohol, smells bad, it's cold, the only reason I gave 2 stars it's because the food is really good. For a take away definitely yes, to dine in a big no.

Good food..the mixed grill was amazing. The staff were efficient and friendly.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon parking in the car park just behind. On walking in it felt a bit like a takeway similar to the one its associated and connected to next door but the staff member greeted us straight away and showed us to a table. This isnt fine dining by any means and they're not trying to be so but the amount of random people coming and going throughout our meal who were not diners or delivery drivers but appeared to know the staff was a little off putting. On to the food and some complementary flat breads and an onion oil, herby dip were quickly brought to the table which were nice and fresh. We had a platter for two and the food was excellent, a mix of Lamb ribs, diced chicken, koftes, wings and diced lamb on a bed of fries and a large mixed salad. The taste was great and it was a struggle to finish it all. In closing if you want good Turkish food at a reasonable price and your not bothered about the surroundings then this place is worth a visit and I can see us returning in the future.

If you're looking for authentic ?turkish cuisine at a reasonable price, then this is the place for you! even on a saturday afternoon it was quiet, the food was plentiful, freshly prepared, and served as you required, no tableful of food and drink going cold as you desperatelt try to complete each course; you're allowed to take your time eat at your own speed and converse if you so wish, and under no pressure to finish and leave. the toilet is upstairs which could be a problem. But overall, good food, good [rice, good atmosphere.

First time ordering from here and I certainly wasnt dispointed! Delivered on time (Friday night order) I ordered the Iskender with some mint yogurt to put over the top. The meat was packed with flavour (both spices and bbq) and the bread at the base having soaked up the meat juice made a great texture contrast. If the take away is anything to go by the restaurant ought to be great.

My husband and I have been to quite a few Turkish restaurants and this is by far the worst we have visited. The mixed meze starter consisted of a few deep fried items, the mains were not good other than the chicken shish which was ok. The waitress was not interested in us at all and was on her phone the entire time we were at the restaurant. There are much better options for Turkish food in Northampton, don't bother visiting Efes BBQ, I know we won't again.

Just had home delivery from Efes. Platter for 2 people with chips/rice/salad, bread and dips. All hot and delicious! Generous portions so would have served 3 people quite easily. My first experience of this type of food...won’t be my last!

Went to Efes for Friday night dinner. Thought it might be an average eat in kebab restaurant but was much nicer. Food was class, the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was very affordable. They gave us complimentary Turkish flat bread with an onion and pomegranate dip; incredible! Hat to order a second serving.

Came here for a family birthday meal, we were a large group & had the whole upstairs to ourselves, the food was a good portion & tasted nice. I would recommend this place as I found the food tasty.

A group of 6 of us ate there. Relaxed atmosphere, great service and most of all, really tasty food. Good vegetarian selection. Would definitely go again !

Unfortunately I didn't get to try the food here as i found it impossible to order...I was calling the for over 30mins with line engaged or going to voice mail! I then discovered there was an app you could use to order from instead, however once downloaded I found the menu to be completely different to the online version (3 hot starters instead of 5 for hot meze and no options of sauces or chips with kebabs) such a shame as I'd heard good things about this place and was looking forward to trying it out

Muy sabroso para llevar comida. Lo encontró en el internet y fue genial. La carne no era difícil y el tasre era genial. Yo tenía un arranque en frío y un sheek kebab. El pan era genial. En vez de ir para arroz patatas fritas.

Me encanta este lugar. Mi estudio está dentro de la zona de entrega y sin duda la mayoría. La selección meze caliente es genial para comer verduras indeciso como yo. Se puede tener todo. De lo contrario la envoltura vegetal es tan buena relación calidad-precio. Una enorme envoltura con halloumi y falafel por debajo de un fiver.

We had a takeaway from here and the food was really delicious, and there was lots of it. We had the platter for 2, and some starters. We will definately be having another takeaway soon.

service is ok when your a new customer the owner seemed to make effort on the first 2 occasions I visited after that I would order with a friend the same dish and our food would be cooked differently on two occasions he std he didn't have lamb skewers on one of the occasions we asked for a free starter as he was unable to cater for us

We've just had a lovely takeaway from here. We searched around Northampton for Turkish food to takeaway and thought the prices here seemed really reasonable. We called up and described our favourite dish and the staff were really helpful! Just finished a lovely takeaway, the extras such as the flat bread and dips were great. Would recommend this eatery.

I've eaten here 3 times since January 2016 and can honestly say the food is great. I love the wraps and always get a side of hummus and holloumi. My new favourite take away!

You can't go wrong with Turkish food. Plain and simple meat, salad and sauce. And you cannot go wrong with Efes either. While the decor may not be as plush as a certain other well regarded Turkish restaurant in town, the quality and value of the food is as good if not better. Efes is more cafe style than restaurant but we got a warm welcome from the staff with free bread and oil on arrival. We ordered the mixed platter for two and £22.95 and on its arrival were staggered by the quantity of meat on display. I have paid £40 for a similar platter and this was as good as I have had. The only criticism was that the lamb ribs were a little salty for my liking and I don't mind a bit of salt. And then we were offered tea on the house prior to leaving. Without doubt I will be back soon.

Just eaten at Efe's again, and its becoming my favourite place in Northampton for a nosh-up.The menu has a few veggie choices which I eat from. All tasty & healthy.My teenage son enjoyed his lamb kebab very much & polished off all his meal.The atmosphere is friendly & welcoming.Will be going there again soon I hope.

My friends and I dined at this lovely resto for lunch and we have enjoyed every minite of our stay there. The staff were very friendly, even giving us free appetizers and a bottle of Coke. The food we ordered are very savoury, our palates are delighted! We left with a happy tummy and awesome experience. Highly recommended!

Great food and lovely decor soft drinks is quite pricy but the food was very nice and tasty and very meaty indeed. Prices are reasonable depends on how many people are dining but the main meals start from £8 or £9 but you do get a lot for the price you pay overall will recommend to anyone who likes Spicy food and bbq flavours.

My family love this restaurant and we've eaten here often. Here's why:- great for kids. There's high chairs, clean toilets with a change table and more than anything really accommodating staff. The proprietor has held the baby so we could eat with two hands and played cars with the pre-schooler so we could finish our meal.- great vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. I've tried lots of dishes here and have never had one I don't like. The borek, veggie wraps, baklava, sutlac (rice pudding) and the lamb dish with butter, tomato sauce and yoghurt are all especially good.- Turkish tea. They don't sell booze but I don't think they need to when the tea's that nice.- Great value. For a really cheap and filling meal go for a wrap.- take away. Anything you don't finish you can take home.I'm drooling while I write this...may have to pop in now!

Excellent authentic food at affordable prices..ordered 1 hot meze..the boraks are fabulous, and 1 cold meze..couldn't eat it all, very generous portions, gave us complimentary rice pudding and flat bread with dipping sauce.. friendly service, unpretentious surroundings, will definitely be re visiting.
