After craving eggs benedict The Little Larder definitely did not disappoint! The queue was expected after reading previous reviews however it went down very quick as customers were respectful and didn’t take up too much time after eating. I’d definitely say to anyone that it is worth waiting in line and to not let it put you off. We both ordered eggs Benedict and the presentation was super cool - I love how it is given to you in a little box! The only thing is it made cutting very awkward. The coffee was great and the services were a lot quicker than expected - hence why the queue is so quickly moved! I’d definitely go back again on my next trip.

My husband and I have been coming to The Larder for years. This place holds a very special place in our hearts. We are huge foodies! What makes the Larder so special is that it combines outstanding food with warmth, friendliness, beautiful design and a fun atmosphere. What a wonderful team and especially dear Diego who lights up the space! Thank you for keeping us fuelled up and we look forward to our next visit :)

What a find, as we arrived other people were queuing so we were hopeful it would be good and we weren't disappointed! We had booked ahead and would recommend to do this. A full Scottish breakfast of wholesome fresh ingredients was thoroughly enjoyed and set us up for our day. Wow what a fab place. Booked this place after looking at trip advisor and particularly as it caters for gluten intolerant which 1 of our party was. Booked for 5 of us and the food and drinks were excellent. We all loved it. On top of that the staff made it for us, service was great, friendly and welcoming. We will be back and well done staff.

Horrible Shortly after being seated, we sadly got up & left…. I’d moved my chair to the other side of the table as had no room to eat.. the waiter who appeared to be the manager then came over and abruptly asked me to move back… as I was attempting to do this and move my coat, he came back and said… I’ve just asked you to move!!! The table behind heard the whole conversation and were looking over in disgust at the way I was spoken to and I was utterly embarrassed and tearful at the way I’d been spoken to. Such a poor customer experience given this was a rebook of a lovely breakfast last year… We won’t be returning…. 🤬

I would honestly rate the full Scottish breakfast one of the best I’ve had! Staff friendly and helpful, would recommend to anyone travelling that way xxxx loved it

The food here is amazing - really great quality ingredients put together with real thought. We ate in the little Larder, next door to the main cafe, and our food was brought round in little metal boxes which worked really well. I had the veggie breakfast, with veggie haggis, home made baked beans etc, and my partner had the full Scottish. Despite notices warning us that there would be a wait, as food is cooked to order, it arrived within fifteen minutes which was no bother at all. Real loose leaf tea, good, thick cut granary toast - this was an amazing start to the day and around the same price as the abysmal Rose St Cafe which we visited the day before.

Visiting Edinburgh for the weekend we went here for breakfast on our first morning and then returned for brunch and lunch on following days as it was so good. Very friendly service and great food and drink. Definitely book ahead as it’s so popular although if prepared to wait you can also queue outside as they do accept walk-ins for some tables next door.

Such a cozy restaurant and the coffees were the best in the old town, they even make crispy bacon for your puppy. The bacon rolls are so fresh and the service was great very friendly restaurant, it’s always packed.
