Eden Cafe in West Oxfordshire

We went here to get a little desert as we have been to this cafe before and saw it had quite a good range of gluten free options.They didn’t have much left in stock so we were lucky to get what we got.The gluten free cookies were delicious,tasted really fresh and like they were homemade.Also the cake was really lovely too and tasty.They clearly list the allergens of the product on the screen protector thing behind the cakes.Also tell them about any allergies when ordering.I believe their menu is 100% vegan too.The toilets were really clean too.

Brought a coffee from here,came in minute's before closure,takeout coffee is what they could offer.Very nice cafe,suprised to learn how many gluten free options they offered.There was a really impressive selection of options.Including pancakes for breakfast,will have to come here for breakfast one day probably at Christmas when Wonka comes out at the nearby cineworld.Really friendly staff and a lovely vibe.They even have a community notice board too.The cafe seating area is separate from the coffee shop.

We visited Witney and googled somewhere for lunch. The top entry was this fantastic Vegan Cafe. Visited and had a great lunch.

For full disclosure, I am an ex employee of this business. Now I am no longer affiliated with the cafe, I feel I can finally give my unbiased review of both dining here and working here. I am a vegan with coeliacs disease, a condition that has severely effected my life. Eden is the only place I am able to safely have a meal within a 50 mile radius of where I live. To accommodate people like me with severe allergies, the processes this cafe have are different from most vegan restaurants- a process that someone without experience of these life threatening allergies would struggle to understand. Safety and an inclusive, tasty menu at a reasonable price is what to expect here. As someone who has worked in hospitality for ten years, the cleanliness and care taken to ensure peace of mind for customers is unmatched. From a personal point of view, the care and compassion Becs (the owner of Eden) shows for her staff is something I haven’t experienced before in this industry. Becs’ priorities are the well-being of her employees, to the point of working through chemotherapy to help staff during busy days. This attitude has developed a wonderful community around the cafe. Eden is a perfect example of what an independent business can be under good ownership. I am so happy Eden exists- for a lot of us, it is a rare experience of feeling normal and accepted when eating out. All my thanks go to Becs for a wonderful and informative year of employment- I will continue to visit eden as a customer as often as I can.

A cute little cafe and I can see there is an immense cake variety for vegans and this is marvellous. I wanted a quick lunch and ordered the falafel wrap. I think it could have been a lot better. The outside wrap was cold and the inside comprised of 4 tiny falafel balls which were slightly dry and burnt. The server asked me if I wanted extra sauce (at extra price) and I said no and then I realised why. The interior red cabbage was smeared with the tiniest amount of sauce and there might as well have been none. I think this is very poor value for money - I mean how hard is it to make a falafel wrap with generosity and serve the whole thing warm? At a cost of £8. A very lacklustre vegetarian sandwich and I can make a lot better myself I ordered an apple juice it came lukewarm and was definitely the stuff that comes out of a plastic bottle. Shame. Not impressed at lack of effort and lack of cooking skill.

Oh my goodness what an absolute Gem of a cafe, I cannot believe how many GLUTEN FREE options there are! Around 90% of the mouthwatering menu is gluten free. The menu range is stunning so many favours and creative ideas. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. If you ever wanted to eat at one place for the rest of your life this would be it! Only thing I would say to improve on would be to expand and share your glory in other places. It gets busy lunchtimes so get there early! I loved the sweet little touches of creativity including the ‘Gluten Guard Kiwi’ which made me chuckle :) Thankyou Eden Cafe, Marvellous! Just Marvellous!

For light lunches, good breakfast, wonderful cakes and amazing coffee. I adore this place so much. Staff are friendly, decor lovely and vibe is very relaxed. Great quality

We visited Eden Cafe with family (adults, and four children under 12) and had a wonderful lunch. Will go back every time I'm in the area. There were so many choices - the sausage bagel with hash brown was delicious and the cakes are amazing - moist and flavourful. The atmosphere in this cafe is lovely, too, very clean, unique decor and friendly, helpful staff.

Thought I’d try this as I have walked past many times. Friendly staff, nice and clean restaurant, but unfortunately very average food. Soup nice, but a bit watery. Cheese toasted sandwich was flat. I can only describe it as a hint of cheese

Called in for lunch, although we're not veggies or vegans the food was simply delicious. I do like hummus and or falafal, put them together in a wrap.... Fabulous. Highly recommend

We came here as stayed the night in Witney, fantastic breakfast choices and smoothies were delicious! Staff were very friendly, would come back for sure!

Popped in for a quick bit of lunch today. Lovely welcome from Emily and had a fabulous vegan chicken n stuffing sandwich. The food is always consistently amazing. They were really busy today but still managed to maintain a smile and great service. Well done🥰

I was visiting Witney with family and we are a group of vegetarians and vegans and very often we struggle for good food places ! The Eden cafe was a lovely quaint place that was 100% vegan ! I was spoilt for choice ! Lovely food

First visit here , totally unaware it's vegan but do like to support local instead of big coffee chains . Nice choice of drinks etc.. but did get a funny look when we asked for normal cows milk before we were aware it was vegan . The vibe changed very quickly ! Will return to maybe try some food next time .

Great service friendly staff and a vast vegan menu. So brilliant for those of us who usually only have access to a couple of unimaginative dishes. ‘Milk’shakes out of this world!

Had the nicest falafel and hummus wrap with zingy sriracha sauce. Could not have been better! Great coffee and a yummy Biscoff slice too. I don’t know how they made vegan taste so good, but I’m glad they did!

My partner and I visited this cafe for afternoon coffee and cake. The cafe is 100% vegan and therefore has an extensive range of vegan options. My partner is also coeliac and they had a superb range of gluten free cakes too which for us was fantastic.Great service, good coffee and nice cake. Definitely worth a visit.

A small bowl of refrigerated gelatinous salad for £7 was quite a disappointment. I chose to eat here as opposed to Como Lounge to try and support an independent but I absolutely wouldn't do so again.

Stopped here for some coffees and cake - the selection of freshly made cakes was impressive and flavours were absolutely delicious - the spiced apple cinnamon cake was one of the nicest I’ve ever had! The staff couldn’t have been friendlier too. Overall great atmosphere, great food and lovely vibes.

Always a warm welcome and in these awkward times, that makes a difference. The best thing is that its fantastic Vegan food and coffee is as good as one will ever get I like it really strong, so I get an extra shot in a small cup, superb..............The sausage rolls are excellent.

Hard working team, great atmosphere and the food is always amazing, they cater to healthy eaters but also have some true comfort options.

I have never been to any sort of vegan establishment before,so it was really by accident that we visited the Eden cafe.We did order some toasted sandwiches,they were okay,and were hot and filled a gap.A pot of tea came with the offering of various sorts of milk,I thought that milk comes from a cow,but not at the Eden,it seems to come from anything but.?Summing up,very polite young ladies serving,the tea did taste alright,and the price was reasonable.You pays your money as they say,my Kaftan might be on order yet.?

Once again a good meal. Avocado on toast and a faux sausage roll , A really great sausage roll as well. They also do excellent pasties , I shall have one next time. The place is well laid out, and very clean, as it always was.

At last a perfect place for Vegan food, good variety and super quality. Coffee is especially good here with Oatley milk. The people are always friendly and helpful.

As my wife and I participated in veganuary we decided to go here having never been before and we were really pleased with the big menu choice! Deffo reccomend.

Visited yesterday with my daughter and had delicious cakes, hot chocolate and a smoothie. Welcoming and friendly with a good range of veggie/vegan options. Will definately return.

We were in Witney for the day and wanted something healthy for lunch, and Eden Cafe seemed just the ticket. The reviews are good and I have to say it lived up to them! Lots of lovely vegan lunch options for every taste and I particularly enjoyed my (non) milkshake!

Eden Cafe is excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I am a regular (weekly) user of the cafe and have always had very good coffee. Cakes are vegan and tasty. Some or all (I'm not sure) are gluten free as well. I am not vegan or vegetarian but highly recommend this coffee shop.

The menu is geared towards lighter lunches, and I enjoyed a soup and cheese toastie package today, together with a strawberry smoothie. There was plenty of room when I went, although it could get busy at peak times. It's convenient for a quick meal.

I call in whenever in Witney, always a perfect coffee and decent food. Now also doing hot food, pasties etc.

Cute place to eat or pass a good time with a coffe/tea/chocolate. The staff is nice and the food is good. A lot option to adapt the food to your needs.

We're in Witney on a Saturday at least once a month, and thanks to the town's free parking we always linger for a coffee and a snack, but this was our first time visiting this great cafe. Nice busy ambience and staff, delicious oat milk latte and very tasty BAMT (vegan bacon, avocado, mayo, tomato) bagel. Fair prices too. Will definitely visit again.

We have visited twice now after discovering Eden Cafe on a vegan phone app. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly and attentive. If ever we find ourselves in the Witney area in the near future we will be in for a toastie and a coffee.

We live local but are moving soon and sad to leave this place behind. As a vegan it has been great to have a place where I don't have only one option on the menu. Plus everything that I have had has always been delicious, from the cakes to the salads to the fresh juices and coffee.

Nice chilled Sunday morning coffee stop. Great flavour coffee with oat milk went nicely with ginger cake! Unusual when searching for dairy-free but spoilt for choice here, must visit again soon!

Only popped in as we were in the area, to discover that this cafe is vegan so all the options are dairy free, and lots are gluten free too. This was an amazing discovery for my dairy free and gluten free husband, and he promptly ordered practically half the menu! Everything was so tasty, came quickly and the staff were all very friendly. We'll be regulars now I'm sure.

After a 12km walk we decided to have lunch at Eden. Amazing potato and cheese soup with a toastie. Of course we couldn't resist the Anzac biccies, lovely! I will definitely return.

80% of the time I’m always here. Been supporting this place long time, cakes are top coffee is top salad is top love me a toastie on the odd occasion too! In all seriousness, I don’t know why people go to other mainstream coffee shops. Viva la vegan!

What a gem! Try the ginger cake it’s amazing. Nice relaxed atmosphere, great staff and superb food, I’m not vegan but am vegetarian so this is a brilliant choice. Good to support local business too 👍🏻

There are so many good things about this place. It is attractive to everyone and caters very well for people with allergies. We had walnut, banana and chocolate cake, latte and hot chocolate. The quality of the food is great, friendly service and not too expensive. There’s one large toilet witch also has the baby change facility. Breastfeeding friendly too.

Hardcore carnivore just experienced best lunch ever! Shock, horror.... Had the large mixed salad lunch bowl...stuffed! Left me angry...how do they pack so many scrumptious flavours🤔 Fussy 10 year old gobbled up the special soup. Man up and eat here!!!

I would say that this place made the best coffee that I had during my two week stay in the area.... Do go for the larger size though as the regular is very small!! Friendly Kiwi staff 😀

The very best vegetarian and vegan food is here. Good staff as well ! Conveniently situated near to the car park. Bright and clean and comfortable.

Loved the friendly relaxed atmosphere, tasteful decor with NZ touches and the food...there was no compromise on flavour and presentation was excellent. We had scrambled tofu breakfast wrap ; greek feast posh toasted sandwich and a buddha bowl..all generous portions and so delicious. The flat white made made with oaty milk was excellent. Will be very happy to return.

This review concerns the two times in the year I have visited Eden Cafe. The first time, I had a excellent Mocha coffee that was more like a potion to the blues. Small, strong unique taste, and powerful aroma.

Absolutely scrumptious food as the title says I had the best budda bowl meal in here, every bite carried plethora of flavour. My taste buds were very happy

I am now a regular at this friendly vegan cafe. There is a great food menu on offer and lots of lovely drink options. Gluten-free options are available. There is a pleasant sitting area. There always seem to be lots of cakes though I haven't tried them. The coffee with almond milk is delicious.

One of the best places to have great quality coffee in Witney and home made cakes. My mother would enjoy this place very much. I will be back. Staff very welcoming and friendly which makes a change from the high street chains who are not rehearsed in customer service.

My wife and I have been here several times and service is always slow but it reached another level the other day. The place was almost empty and we ordered the soup of the day. Half an hour later and after two reminders our soup eventually arrived.

A beautifully decorated cafe well situated with delicious food and loads of choice for coeliacs. Yummy treats and healthy options to please everyone. Very friendly staff. We visited to celebrate mother's day as a family which included bringing our dog. We took extra cake home and will be back

The food was excellent and was really excited to try the exciting Vegan options available. The Black Forest Hot Chocolate was a particularly decadent experience that I will have to go back for.

I like the ambience. I like the quirky nature of the decoration. I like the little tables. I like the vegan food. I liked our breakfasts. I liked the coffee made with soy milk. I liked the staff. I like the fact that you can sit in the window and watch the world pass by. I like the choice of quality vegan food. I like the GF cakes. I liked the fact that the staff acknowledged us (chap with beard) and and I liked it when he said thank you and see you again.

Asked for a medium latte and was eventually served a cappuccino which was really too small to be classed as medium, it was also lukewarm. The millionaire's shortbread was nice but a very small portion for the price.

I was really impressed and surprised by my visit to Eden Cafe. I didn't actually realise it was vegan, but was drawn there by the gluten free options. My boyfriend had a lovely chai latte and the Greek Feast toastie and I had a cheese and onion gluten free toastie. Both of us were very impressed by the vegan cheese - something I didn't think I'd like. And my gluten free bread with the toastie was really nice - some of the best I have had. The cafe also has a nice chilled vibe and friendly staff. The salads also looked really delicious. Would definitely return for the GF options.

Whitney is not known for its cafe’s so very pleased to find this one just off the high st . Lovely mainly veggie cafe but superb cooking, coffee and lovely staff. Delightful ! I will be back.

Having read the last review, I must respond as I have had the best cappucino ever at the Eden, made with oat milk, along with a quite delicious ginger cake. With flavours like that, bring on veganism!

I found the café not so good on my initial visit, but went back before Christmas and had a really enjoyable visit. Returned last weekend to find that there is now no choice. It is Vegan or nothing. (I struggle to rationalise this when, at other venues a 'no choice' policy would have people up in arms) I simply wanted a white coffee, which proved had to achieve. I was offered 'the nearest thing' which left the coffee still black with floating lumps in it. Yes, I left the coffee and the venue, but was ill for the next few days.

Since moving to the areas from Scotland six years ago I have always ventured into Witney. Thankfully for me this ideal cafe is still here. Regularly I still visit and order the same two things. Double espresso and mocha cake. With my order always being the same the service never gets worse. The warm welcome that greets you when walk through the door. This is rare gem in the high street that is sadly filling up with generic zombie like cafes. For those who just walk past stop. Just walk in you’ll come out again with a smile and looking to go back. How excited was I, a kiwi living in Oxford for 17 yrs to be told about this fabulous cafe. For half an hour I went ‘home’, thank you so much. Amazing coffee and good food just like you find in NZ. Can’t wait to go back next week and take my lucky friends. Hoping you get the Feijoa and Pear juice back soon xx

I cannot recommend Eden Cafe enough as a place to dine or have coffee, but if you are looking for outside catering, then you really couldn’t find anything better. FIVE STARS!!!!!!!!!

Nice little cafe hidden from the main road. Lots of vegeterian, gluten free and vegan options. Tried the salads and they tasted very fresh

Came here when I first started my transition into veganism and it was no mistake! They have numerous gf and vegan options and the options I had- a vegan cheese and pesto toastie along with a iced latte were simply perfect- nice to notice their use of reusable metal straws with their drinks and they had a good mix of food and environment magazines to read from as you ate.

We called into the Eden cafe on a wet Sunday lunch time for a snack.

The café has recently expanded into the adjacent premises, but the café seems more popular than ever, with most of the tables taken most of the time. We had the soup and toastie package, and the soup is clearly made on the premises, thick and tasty. It has established itself as a distinct choice on the Witney café scene.

Tried this venue again after it has been extended and revamped. The coffee was certainly better than it was and it was lovely and hot. The service was a little slow and the new area was quite cold to sit in. Other customers kept their coats on. Menu was reasonable but the cake options seemed expensive. Good location.

Here you can get good veggie and vegan food. Served by enthusiastic and helpful staff. Another place with good surroundings and atmosphere.

Such a little gem, hidden off the highstreet. Brilliant food and as a vegetarian it is great to know i can eat anything they sell! The pepperoni toastie are lovely. And also available in vegan :)

Eden cafe really is a little haven. We popped in for lunch ( one vegan, one gluten free vegan and a muggle). I ordered the specials board soup and gluten free toastie. The carrot soup was so delicious, the best carrot soup I have EVER tasted. Thoroughly recommended. No trip to Eden cafe is complete without having some cake! With all cakes gluten free and vegan we are really spoiled for choice. We each had a different one and even my dairy loving husband thought it was great.

Being a gluten free veggie, this is a great place to stop for lunch. Only thing was coffee to strong for me, but maybe I need to ask for a one shot

Everything was amazing. We spent most of the day here working - good WiFi and comfortable seats. Lovely servers. We had bagels, toasties, smoothies, coffees, hot chocolates, cakes and some packaged snacks from the counter. All gorgeous. All vegan. We will definitely be visiting here evertime we are in the area.

Stumbled across this place on a trip to Witney. My wife is veggie so to find a place that just does veggie and vegan food is always a treat. plenty of choice, we went for avocado bap and greek toastie, both were really nice. we got served super quick and relaxed and took in the quirky decor. A great surprise find.

My go to place - Tumeric latte and vegan sausage bagel (although would be nice to maybe see a little more diversity on the menu). This place caters for everyone which is why I like it! I'm so happy they expanded but still difficult to get a seat as it's so busy! Keep up the good work!

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, good selection of food although slightly overpriced. Great having vegan options, however, would be really happy to see dairy removed from the menu.

Went in too have a light lunch. Beware small salads are quite large. Selection was good. Felt a little underseasoned. Staff great. Seemed a huge choice of vegetarian, vegan and Gluten free options. Not cheap but freshly made and tasty. High chairs available.

This is a good place for breakfast or to grab a coffee on the go- they have GF options and the breakfast muffins are good. The menu for lunch is worth a try.

We went here and had two breakfast burritos and cappuccino with almond milk. Whilst food was beautiful, the service and attitude of the staff made it all worth while. Will definitely be back

This was a great time, not only because I’m from New Zealand and it was nice to see familiar things like Jafas and L&P;’s but the food and coffee was great.

I must have admit I love this cafe..I have been away for a while on my boat and visiting Witney today I went straight to Eden for a coffee and a slice...They were happy to have my chihuahua inside with me. I was joined by my wife and we had lunch also as she is Gluten intolerant we had a lovely Feta and spinach muffin and lemon drizzle slice washed down with Oat milk Allpress Cafe Lattes...the staff were all polite and looked happy to be working there , If you get the chance go there its worth the visit.

Although I'm not a vegetarian or vegan i am lactose intolerant, I've always wanted to try this place due to the amazing reviews and it really is a lovely little cafe. Great coffee and the vegan brownie I had was delicious! Would definitely come back my only criticism is we did go on a Saturday afternoon so only the one side was open which made the little place quite overcrowded but it didn't affect the service in anyway and I would be coming back.

Great coffee, dog friendly and attentive staff. Must try the cakes next time!! Free Wi-fi too. There are a few seats outside if they sun is shining.
