Eatzen in Carmarthenshire

All you can eat, if you can actually get served within 2 hours and get the actual meal you ordered. Mothers day meal was an absolute shambles, wrong drinks, no drinks, slow service, RUDE! Wrong meals given to the majority of the party which ended up in a 6 year old being given chicken in chili sauce, we were told it was sweet and sour, just a good job there were no allergies as this was just one of the wrong meals given. I waited an hour for my main and my noodles were cold by then. My husband waited so long that everyone had finished their meals and he had only had rice, despite reassurance that his meal was on the way. We had to refuse to pay until the meal was cooked and put in a takeaway box so he could eat it at home. Other sides never actually arrived. The woman in charge was the rudest person I have ever met, absolutely diabolical, I will never go there again.

Food was good as was the service. The atmosphere was a little bland, but it was early. Price was reasonable at 21.50 for as much as you can eat of starters and mains in 2 hours.

Been here few times before and has been fairly good but last night wasn't the best! The rice was dry and chicken didn't look right , anyway me and my partner have had sickness and diorhea and not well at all , it wasn't very nice at all and won't return again, I've had a lot better Chinese than this , I'll stick to my local in killgety the dragon Palace! Twice as good as here !

Amazing food service a bit on the slow side but worth the wait

Lovely food plenty of it order off menu until your stuffed ..also like that u could order a dish for 1 , 2 , 3 or 4 people which was really handy with starters which were fantastic..dont over do the starters though or you won't have room for the mains which are also great. We had a good mix as there were 4 of us. Singapore noodles fab bit spicy . 2 prawn dishes were fantastic, chicken skewers full of meat . Beef chow mein and Crispy beef all fantastic and plenty of it ..highly reccomended x £20 ph Jan 2024

The price has gone up to nearly £20 for eat all you can, but the food is still fantastic. Very large main portions but very tasty. The only downside is that there is only one lady (the owner) taking food orders. There was a large table being given priority and we waited 50mins for our starters to reach our table, whilst they were still taking orders on the phone for takeaways. We booked our table at 7:30pm and we were still eating at 9:35pm. Still great value and tasty food.

Went for a buffet with my wife .Last minute decision.Thorughly enjoyed both ate too much Starters were excellent duck was fantastic.Highly reccommend you book in advance

The food is really good even better than the New Garden in Aberkenfig if you have ever been there! It’s basically all you can eat for a set price but not buffet, the food is cooked fresh for you as you order it. I probably would have preferred to just pay for the food we had as it probably would have worked out cheaper but the food was really good so not to bad.

Great food and plenty of choice. Ordered starters and was offered the chance to order more. Ordered two main meals and rice and again was offered the opportunity to order additional meals after we had finished. Food was tasty and I will definitely visit again.

We were staying in Wales for a week away and had an Airbnb in Pontyates so tried this place. The food here was sooo nice, best Chinese food I have ever had so we got it again later in the week, yes the lady there is ridiculously rude but I don’t think she means to be and it’s actually quite funny, food was on time and hot (only had takeaway so can’t speak about dine in). The place was weird as it was in an old pub that had barely been redecorated and was opposite 2 boarded up houses but when it tastes that good who cares.

Miss the starter's and go to main meals and don't sit near kitchen door

Has food here last night Saturday 1st July! Absolutely stunning! We were a table of 3 adults and couldn’t fault the food! Plenty of it, even asked if we wanted to order more starters before ordering our main course! We could order as little or as much as we wanted! Would 100% recommend! The building and the room you have food in is nothing to write home about! But if you can overlook this and just concentrate on the meals you will not be disappointed! We will definitely be returning!

This was my 4th visit for the all you can eat deal and it didn’t disappoint. Food was outstanding, service was quick and every arrived piping hot. Already looking forward to my next visit.

Excellent experience here and would highly recommend. Value for money is exceptional. Food was all good and really tasty and my girlfriend who hasn’t experienced Chinese too much really enjoyed her food too. Lady who owns the restaurant was very friendly towards me too which is always a plus. 10/10! From me and we’ll be back.

Ordered takeaway. Got home and its wrong order. Ordered sweet and sour pork and gwt pork chow mein. I said it twice. Also given Poppadoms (indian) instead of Prawn Crackers. Rice slodgy. Normally so nice... tonight just terrible

Visited on Sunday. First class service and excellent meals. The eat as much as you want worked perfectly with all meals freshly prepared. Not a warming tray in sight! We can’t wait to visit again.

Beautiful food Best Chinese around good portions.

One of those things… it’s the only take away in the area so people make do with what they’ve got. Customer service: Rude, confrontational & unhelpful. Food: subpar, usually cold, overpriced & a gamble wether you leave with the right order. Life really is a box of chocolates with this place… you never know what you’re going to get!

Food was nice but not too hot. Standard Chinese, not amazing. They were good with my allergy. The only menu was all you can eat which for us meant it was a very expensive meal.

Went with friends on Sunday 5th March for an EAT all you can buffetOne word EXCELLENT.WE ordered so many starters,2 different soups ,2 different pork ribs skewer satay chicken and skewer satay mushrooms spicy squid ,prawn crackers and seaweed.We also had crispy duck with all the the extras s well as pancake rolls and a bowlnof egg fried rice.So full we only managed crispy beef for main course.

Ordered a take away which I went to collect. Waited for 30 minutes, staff seemed very stressed and kept asking people what they had ordered. They asked me or should I say interrogated me several times as to what I had ordered. Spoke to someone who had waited 90 mins for a starter. Staff really rude and ignorant. Like a scene from Fawlty towers. I asked for a refund and walked out. Only reason I tried here was because lotus house was closed. Unbelievable how rude staff were but picked on the wrong one tonight!

Really nice food. Can get busy at times. But if you book you’ll be fine. We eat there once a month or so and have never had a bad meal. The food is fresh and served warm

We had a family visit from England and usual traditions is to have a Chinese. After a few disappointments from other chineses we tried eatzen and we were amazed by how fresh and nice the food was. Will be returning for a sit down in 2023 but having a takeaway to end 2022 and excited already.

Always enjoy the food here. Service is a bit cold, but the food is worth it

The food was good but they were incredibly busy so the service was very slow. They give you a two hour limit but after an hour and a half we were still waiting to give our order for the mains. Would eat the food again but probably take away not dine in.

We went for evening buffet on 22/09/22.Both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our buffet meal.Starters we had prawn crackers, seaweed, 2 types of ribs cantonese and salt and chilly .spicy squid and a lovely chicken and sweetcorn soup.Main course was crispy beef, mixed veg,satay mushrooms and really nice beef curry .We had egg fried rice with Main course.

Highly Recommend. Eat as much as you can and believe me, we ate as much as we could , food was stunning, definitely going back.

Food was lovely, drinks were being poured from bottles (coke, lemonade)! Staff very ignorant and rude, not once said thank you or even cracked a smile. Such a shame

Lovely food but not worth the money absolutely disappointed as the workers are Rude and horrible 😢 felt like I was always being watched the whole time and people where just slamming the plates on the table absolutely disgusting behavior. Having seen some of the more negative reviews about the service and the attitude of the owner we were nearly put off, however, the food reviews persuaded us to give it a try. Really pleased we did, I understand the comments re how busy it was with take away customers etc but this is / was a busy bustling restaurant which was full of diners on a Sunday evening. The eat as much as you can menu threw us for while so we ordered three of our favourite starters and the owner who was very friendly all night suggested we waited to order our mains until we had eaten those ( in case we wanted more starters I think ). These came very quickly and were very large portions of excellent food. When we had finished the owner asked us if we wanted a few minutes to digest them for which we were quite grateful. During this time takeaways were handed over and telephone orders taken but for us it was a welcome break ready to start again on the mains. Sure enough after maybe 5 minutes our order was taken and again large portions of excellent food were delivered quickly. This is a busy unpretentious restaurant but the staff were friendly and the food excellent so ignore the negative comments and give it a go.

Eatzen cooks amazing food. Full Stop. New years eve has been busy busy busy and both covers and takeaways have taken longer than normal. But worth the wait. Lovely food, the front of house worked exceptionally hard. Well done Eatzen.

It was a diabolical visit went for a new year meal the service was terrible ordered coca cola it was flat out of a bottle waited a hour for first course when it arrived it was cold no apologies walked out in disgust will not...

Not a fancy place , staff were great and the food was a stunning, probably the best Chinese meal I've ever had and plentiful. You will need to book, carpark at rear which is a good size.

Never again,took 20 minutes to get drinks and having asked twice for them,and after 45 minutes we recieved only one starter and 15 minutes on we cancelled as we weren't prepared to wait any longer, when she finally brought the bill they expected us to pay for the one starter which was left to go cold as we didn't receive the other orders. They concentrate on phone orders which also are late for customers. We will not be back.

The food is good but not amazing. However, it's a great price for the buffet. All you can eat as long as you take care not to waste food.

New Years eve was a bit of a disaster for Eatzen, the food was nearly 2hrs late and the order was not fully completed. Quality and quantity should be their motto, money was their motivation. The owner should have given greater support to the young lady that was facing the customers.

Not only the best Chinese meal I have ever eaten but the best take away meal also! The food was cooked to absolute perfection, on my order was two main dishes and a few sides but was executed to its maximum potential. The service was very good, hygienic and social distancing was provided throughout the procedure. Due to Corona virus no sit down meals only take away .After missing out for over 6 weeks,had good news that take away was open from 14th may.Ordered salt and chili ribs ,chicken curry and egg fried rice.Absolutely lovely .Ready on time and well worth the wait.Highly reccomended

The food is amazing. The all-you-can-eat option, however, leaves you feeling a little pressurised and judged. Having said this, it's improved a lot in the last 6 months!

Easy to order takeaway, good service

It's an all you can eat buffet... with a difference. Instead of loading your plate from serving dishes (that may have sat a while) your food is cooked fresh and to order. Pay a set price (£15.50 on a Tuesday) and order your dishes. To avoid waste they ask you to only order what you will eat... No "doggy bags" (I guess to avoid people who would take advantage of the set price and over order to take home)... And if you leave a dish uneaten, be prepared to pay the full price for that dish. I like it!The food was tasty, not greasy and the spices delightful... Esp the szechuan "mock" duck dish which was hot and zingy. There were 7 of us and we sampled a range of dishes including seaweed, mushroom satay, salt and pepper ribs, vegetable Singapore Noodles, crispy beef, lemon chicken, pineapple rice and chicken curry to name a few.The food came pretty quickly, served on to warmed plates. The portion sizes are generous. We had chips, 3 rice and 2 Noodles as sides between 7 and there was more than enough. The mains and starters are also big enough to share around. Our host was attentive, happy for dishes to be modified (no peas!) and helped us choose portion sizes... Helpful with the crispy duck pancakes to ensure there was enough to go round. In short, excellent food, value for money served in a bright and cheerful room! Photo is of seaweed, prawn toast and mushroom satay which was my starter. No photos of my main... So busy enjoying the lovely food I forgot!

We booked for 8 people for sunday 15th .All you can eat buffet.4 thai ladies ordered a lot of different food whilst us 4 welsh lads ordered salt and chili ribs cantonese ribs prawn toast squid seaweed and prawn crackers and skewer satay mushrooms as starters. Main courses we ordered special rice egg fried rice salt and chili prawns (Delicious)garlic prawns sweet and sour chicken and 2 beef curries as well as cantonese ribs and chips .EVERYONE ENIOYED.Thank you huazhu and staff for a very enjoyable evening

Normally when we go this place is amazing Last night was a shock getting charged £5 for a 3 year old who eat a few chips literally like 5 chips Not even ordered for him Woman was rude The gentleman didn’t have a clue forgot half our order won’t be calling again

Absolutely awful service had all you can eat buffet everytime I ordered food parts of the order was missing was left sat there for over 40 minutes before my order was taken second time which we ordered 7 starters between us to where only 3 items was served after an hour after our first course, by the time we had mains we so fed up and tired we didnt eat much. When we got up to pay was told give me 2 minutes to actually check my plate and told me next time dont order so much after which you can imagine my reply to which she kept replying yes, yes and yes this is not my first time eating here been going here for a while service always shocking but this time was horrendous this time will certainly be our last!
