I ate here alone on a business trip to Loughborough. After wandering around looking for a decent place to eat I discovered Eastern Spice. The food was excellent, the staff were friendly, attentive and good-humoured. An excellent experience, and I would definitely return again if I’m in the area again.

Had an overnight stay In Loughborough and looked for somewhere nearby to eat. Came across Eastern spice by chance. Best Indian I’ve had for years. Food was gorgeous, came very quickly and piping hot. Very well cooked and full of flavour. Staff very pleasant and very much on the ball. Nothing too much trouble. Would love to go again as the menu was massive. Only problem I had was I was absolutely stuffed. I’ve had worse problems. Get yourselves there

Two of us arrived at 10pm on Friday evening without a reservation and the staff were happy to serve us. We’d already walked past three curry houses in the town centre with no customers, but this place still had people in which I think must be testament to their reputation. Service was good and friendly, and we never felt rushed. Poppadoms fresh and addictive, king prawn puri and lamb chop tikka starters both really tasty. Fish curry (madras?) and chicken dansak for mains, boiled rice and a really soft fresh peshwari naan. If we’d only been having mains we might have found the portions a little small, but as part of a larger meal they were great. Would love to see some more dessert options, but the mango kulfi we shared was nice. A bottle of house wine at around £23, so not cheap but not extortionate either. Everything felt clean and cared for. Overall we’d really recommend, and we’ll be returning!

Brilliant Indian food from lovely people. Very experienced owners and senior staff which shows. Great “old fashioned” experience in contemporary surroundings. We ordered the celebration lamb special and it didn’t disappoint. Highly recommend.

A great restaurant, can definately recommend. Pleasant attentive waiters and excellent food. I didn't rate the samosas but my husband thought they were ok, otherwise nothing to complain about at all.

This restaurant is excellent, the best Indian I have been to. The service is very good indeed and the staff are very smartly dressed, they even hold the door open when you leave. Food is superb with a lot of choice. This restaurant really is exceptional.

Been many times, great food and fantastic service. Had mixed veg byriani, fantastic. The chef sent a tandoori chicken dish with his complements. And a complimentary liqueur. Five stars from me.

Absolutely superb probably best curry I've had .excellent staff

We were in the area for one night having booked a trip on the Great Central Railway. We chose this restaurant from the good reviews it had and we were not disappointed. My shami kebab starter was superb as was my husbands onion bahji. For main I had the chicken tikka buns accompanied by rice and a garlic nam. It was all delicious. Service was exemplary and the complimentary liquor at the end of the meal was a lovely touch.

This is my go to restaurant in Loughborough when working in the area. Up until 18 months ago this was simply stunning with exceptional service, quality food and Cobra.I’m not sure whether it’s because it’s been a while and I’ve missed this place but last nights visit exceeded all expectations.The service as usual was top notch, even down to explaining every dish when we ordered. The staff are so friendly and helpful, just really nice people.The popadoms were warm and fresh, the prawn puri, tandoori fish, sag aloo and dal Nan were beautiful. I look forward to my next visit.

Friendly welcoming staff, great service and lovely food. The tamarind dip with the poppadoms is a favorite. Have been here on date night, with our kids and with a group of friends/colleagues and am never disappointed.

Wow. So much to say. I had the Korai with lamb chicken and king Prawn. The taste was sublime and a perfect choice. The owner was attentive. The only downside is I am not local but if if I am ever in the area again would not hesitate to book. They should rename the restaurant Eastern Gem 💎 because that is what it was.

Staff amazingly attentive; atmosphere just lovely; food was the best Indian we’ve had in the UK… we had a vegan in our party and the staff couldn’t do enough to accommodate and explain the ingredients. I had the Tandoori Trout… it was spectacular and looked impressive… could eat it all so took it home!! Thanks Guys

Staff are really friendly, food is amazing , probably one of the nicest curry’s I’ve had, with such a good choice of meals available.

Been a few times before when it was great but the cooking this time was sadly disappointing. Onion Bhaji was dense and cloying, rubbery even. Balti was loads of uncooked onion, it felt very far away from a true Birmingham balti. It’s a shame as we were really looking forward to eating here. Perhaps it was a different chef to normal.

Seven of us had a great meal, with excellent customer service. Really nice atmosphere and decor. we had a variety of main meals and sides, and all were very well cooked, presented and tasty.

I read the reviews before went to the restaurant but Food was not that good, too much colour was present in the food, we ordered Chicken Biriyani but it was just tasteless, they gave us gravy with that which was too sweet and restaurant was very busy so couldn't get proper service! And the main thing was they didn't have high chair for my baby! I won't recommend this for proper Indian authentic taste..!

Met up with friends at Eastern Spice on a Monday evening. The hospitality and attentive owners are wonderful and the food was so tasty. Highly recommend the Muttar Paneer as a vegetarian side dish. Wonderful service - thank you!

Great menu, various house specialties, brilliant and attentive service. After chatting with the head waiter explained the dishes, met “spice requirements” for us all. Two mature adults and two uni students. We all enjoyed it and even had a ‘chin wag’ with a group of lads on an away-day in their Hawaiian shirts!

Booked a meal as part of out trip to Loughborough. The food was amazing and we ad totake the leftovers away to eat later. Staff very attentive. Many takeaways going out of the door, probably due to the England QF on later that evening. Very reasonably priced. Book a table and go.

Made the trip up from Leicester. Lovely service and amazing food!! Definately recommend the sheekh kebab and chef's special chicken tandoori starters. Given after 8's as a lovely end to the meal. Will be coming back for sure, worth the short drive :)..(was a little pricey)

Have eaten in and had takeout in the past but tonight’s takeout was exceptional!!! All dishes were delicious although I have to mention my chefs special tandoori fish which is melt in the mouth delicious!!! Everything was hot and fresh and flavoursome-perfect!!

Purely by chance we were recommended to visit Eastern Spice by a customer in the restaurant of the hotel we were staying at in Long Whatton.We loved it. The staff were lovely and the food was first class.If you like an English curry, this is the best I have had.

Wow! Delicious food, faultless service and I had a perfectly chilled glass of white wine whilst DH had a perfectly chilled Cobra beer ...what more could you ask for...You do have to book in advance now before arriving and we went for an early sitting approx. 1730hrs as we like to eat early. We felt very comfortable and safe and intend to visit this excellent Indian restaurant again soon. The restaurant was spotless with menus shining and almost polished! Meetu (the owner/Manager) and his attentive staff were wearing masks (as were all guests except when eating of course) and social distancing was observed.

We had been looking forward to our visit to Eastern Spice for a while and it didn’t disappoint. Service was nothing short of sensational and the food matched this. It was lovely to finally enjoy a meal out in what has been a difficult year for us all. It is also great to see local businesses flourish once again and we should all do more to support our local restaurants and bars.Can’t wait for our next visit, the Macmanard’s

We ordered by telephone for a home delivery, and although the delivery was a little outside the suggested timescale, it was obvious the restaurant was extremely busy and this didn't cause a problem.We had poppadoms and the chef's special starter, followed by Chicken Tikka Dhansak and Chicken Bhuna with two Chef’s Special Tandoori Chicken (dry). All food was top class and absolutely delicious. The food was delivered nice and hot, the dips were as requested and plentiful.We were all delighted with the meal and even managed to save some for the following day. This is my favorite curry house - Highly recommended to everyone!

First meal out following lockdown, worth waiting for. We had a wonderful meal, food is excellent and we were made to feel very welcome by Mitu and his team. Although the take aways are very good, dining in was a real joy. Highly recommended.

This was a long-awaited visit after the easing of lockdown. The food is wonderful, and the owner and staff are all super friendly, welcoming, hospitable and generous. They also accommodated our toddler and his high chair, as he joined us for his first restaurant visit ever! A lovely evening. And I’m always quick to recommend this place to friends.

As a qualified Rosette Head Chef, Its my opinion that this is the best Indian Restaurant I've ever visited. The most friendliest staff, Incredible food and a beautiful dining experience. The owner who goes out of his way to make an unforgettable time, everytime. Not only are we going back but it's our regular curry house as none exceeds it.

Totally delicious!!! During lockdown a weekly take away is feeling like a real treat and wow Eastern Spice certainly hits the spot. The food is awesome. We have tried a few things on the menu and everything so far has been so tasty. The peshwari nann is the best I’ve ever EVER had. It always seem fresh whatever day of the week. Speedy delivery too. Can’t recommend here enough. Our now go to takeaway. Some dishes are a little spicer than other places so just check if you aren’t too much of a spice lover. Really looking forward to the weekend with another sampling of their menu.
