An early family New Years Eve get together, spoilt by average food, main course arrived in dribs and drabs missing two main courses kitchen clearly not able to cater for a busy service we left early and only paid half the bill , I could go on but where do you stop . We have been a few times over the years but will not be returning!!

Contrary to what I’ve just read we had a lovely evening-8 of us got together for our Xmas meal-food was delicious and service was friendly -we had some fizz and wine and soft drinks with starters and mains followed by coffee-bill came to around £90/couple-very nice indeed

Went for birthday meal with the family, very disappointed with the food, plates were cold, restaurant was cold and very noisy. We were asked to leave as they needed the table. It’s a shame as we have used this restaurant before and had a lovely meal.

So pleased I didn't read the reviews before going. Never been before, the food was all excellent - but do agree on the crispy duck, it wasn't good. It wasn't crispy nor shredded like usual, it was lumps of duck. Everything else was super tasty and, frankly, the crispy chilli beef was the best I've ever had. Came with friends, will be returning with hubby v. soon!

Just read the latest reviews, this was once one of our favourite Chinese restaurants, unfortunately it’s off the list now. Crispy Duck is served as ‘duck fat chunks’ and not shredded and is certainly not of the past quality; Deep Fried King Prawns could be relabelled as Prawn Flavoured Batter Balls; Dung-Po King Prawn, sauce & batter - really? I was going to go on but basically the differentiation between flavours of the dishes has gone, there now appears to be more focus on ‘numbers’ rather than customer satisfaction.

Takeaway . Poor not good average food. No taste crispy chilli beef soft, Horrible . Would not use again

We have not been here for quite a while, and have used it several times before usually for special occasions. We decided to treat ourselves last night, big mistake! We ordered one of our favourite appetisers, crispy duck which was anything but crispy. We were presented with a sliced lump of fat with very little meat, the whole meal went down hill from there. We felt very rushed, after a couple of main dishes the menu was removed from the table. On the whole a very dissappointing evening. Unlike Arnie we will not be back.

Well, as people have said, it used to be so much better; my husband and myself have been going here for 15+ years, both on our own, and with friends, the quality always used to be good which was unusual for as much as you can eat restaurant, but we didn’t take advantage. Now the quality has just gone down tremendously, it’s full of rather large people who just want to have a big nose bag and don’t care about the quality. The starters were greatly diminished, I can understand they don’t want to give too much away, but if you ask for extra, you don’t always get it. The mains were just mushy to be honest, no quality meat, too much padding that was even mushy, and we ordered what we thought were toffee apples and that’s what they used to sell and now they cool them toffee fritters, the apple is rockhard, the fritter is just pappy, no toffee and no sesame seeds. We refuse to pay for this part of the menu as it was so bad. And cap it all, they’ve increased the price per head. We complained to the manager who frankly couldn’t have been more disinterested. Waste of £85, including wine and waste of calories, frankly. Never again.

We've been using this restaurant for well over 15 years. Sadly the prices have been increasing yet the choice of dishes decreased: No Prawn Crackers. No Crispy Seaweed. No Soup. No muscles. Sadly the menu now has less choice than many other local All you can Eat Restaurants.

Used to be a very good restaurant and new the owners and most of the staff. Has gone down since with food and service as corners have been cut sadly. Won’t go again as I have given several chances.

Awful food & service would avoid! Such a shame, parents 50th wedding anniversary dinner ruined. Extremely slow service, wasn’t able to cater for a non fussy vegetarian! Not 1 main dish on the menu for a veggie, waiters had to ask their manager what was vegetarian, ended up with 2 bits of broccoli & some pak choi, not even any noodles or rice as meat put in everything despite asking. Plates not changed between courses, cutlery not replaced. Half of the mains selected not arriving and portions served not catering for the amount of people at the table. Drinks flat and watered down. Very slow running water in both toilets which is off putting from a hygiene perspective. I did politely query the bill as £27 for 2 bits of broccoli & pak Choi, not even in a sauce is extortionate and would expected to pay £7 max as it was like eating a side, actually left hungry! was told it’s a set price, waiter got very rude with my ask and said I should have been more clear, blaming me for lack of food received and then when my husband stepped into question what he just said, he quickly switched and said the waiters should have been more clear and English wasn’t his first language. We both know what he said. If this was al a carte you would be paying half of the price for food received. In contrast went to the Ivy Asia previous week, same amount of people, service impeccable and when any food didn’t arrive without question taken off the bill without asking! And bill was near on the same amount! Shows how over priced it was. Such a shame as been previously been years ago and enjoyed.

This place is nice inside with a lovely outdoors area too. The waiters are all very nice and efficient. For three people you can choose 6 x starter dishes, 6 x mains The starters we chose were ok other than the satay chicken that was very dry, the prawn toast only sesame seeds no sign of prawns and prawns in batter tinny and they gave us three prawns. I feel thats not a portion. Roast duck was great and plentiful with lots of pancakes. Mains were great in particular the crispy beef, the mushrooms in black beam sauce. Although the portion of crispy beef was tinny not enough for three people. The house white wine not very nice but cheap. The place is ok and not expensive for what it is. Some dishes great, others not so good. Is a good place to go for dinner but not for a special occasion as it is average

Once again a great night out at the E&O, great service and fabulous food. We were in a party of six and therefore (its a set price) we were allowed to order 8 starter dishes and 8 main meal dishes it was far to much we ended up only ordering 6 main meals. The food was delicious and the atmosphere in the restaurant is wonderful. The service was brilliant very attentive. Will be back very soon.

We’ve been going to Eastern & Oriental for years & always recommend it to our family and friends. The food is absolutely exceptional, especially when you consider that it’s a hybrid between an all you can eat and à la carte restaurant. There is definitely no trade off between quality and quantity. The decor of the restaurant gives you an authentic feel and I don’t think you’ll find a better value for money restaurant in the area.

We have been here probably a dozen times and thoroughly enjoyed the food on each occasion. Lunch on Sunday was more of the same, but the food has lost a little bit of its sparkle. It's hard to put my finger on it, but the food feels like it was rushed or corners were cut somehow during cooking - it just didn't taste quite as good as it used to do. Hopefully just a bad day for them or a blip in the kitchen.

Years ago was good. Now: you get plastic plates and bowls. Just a fork to eat with. They used to shred the duck in front of you - now it’s just dry lumps of duck on a plate. Nothing tastes fresh. Service is all over the place. Scrape off half eaten meals onto a single plate - AT THE TABLE RIGHT IN FRONT IF YOU - to clear away. Asked for cutlery and a handful of spoons and forks dumped on table. Food is so dry and processed (frozen?) you don’t want to eat it so the all you can eat isn’t of any value. 10% service charge then adds insult to injury. This place will die soon, as there’s only so long you can slop out poor food with terrible service before the business implodes. Sad - it was good once.

This place has seriously gone downhill in terms of service. They rush and embarrass you into ordering asap this is due to them offering set hours to eat!.. your seat is sold which is fair enough but an hour to eat is crazy and unacceptable especially as a meal for two cost over £100! On booking you get a two hour slot, not 45 minutes. We were literally watched over and pressure to order starters. When ordering we said second course should be duck with a break. Well they tried to deliver mains whilst still eating starters even though we said we wanted a break. If they had their way from start to end would have been 40 minutes!! Not acceptable, I think the waiters bonuses based on getting people out. Shame as the food is lovely, we’ve been many many times but won’t be going here again for sure.

Book for a special occasion, and it was a great experience. I always go to this restaurant, at least once a week, and it never disappoints me. If you want the best service, ask for special attention with florin, it is the best to serve. the owners are always on site, and make you feel at home, I recommend it 100%. Great tasty food in pleasant surroundings. A good varied menu with plenty of choice for everyone, be it Thai, Malaysian or Chinese. As much as you can eat in an a la carte venu.Had to ask for finger bowls twice and not enough serving spoons, but it was sorted in the end. Haven’t been for a while but it seems the staff didn’t quite have it all in hand and service wasn’t quite as slick as it should have been.No matter the food made up for it and we left absolutely stuffed. If you want filling up with good quality Oriental food then this is the place of choice in the area.

We have been to the restaurant many times over the years but because the quality of service and food were poor we went to the Woking restaurant in 2019.Last evening the 23rd of January 2020 we gave the Chobham restaurant another try.WHAT A MISTAKE !We had to ask for table napkins, finger bowl several times and the food portions were small.The food was not brilliant and served on very cold plates.Two of the waiters could not speak English.We called the person over who appeared to be in charge and my son told him of our displeasure.We refused to give a tip, however i will give everyone who reads this a tip, DO NOT GO THERE !

The food in here is amazing, you cannot fault it. Service is good, they are attentive and smart. My only niggle is - our table was reserved for 6pm for 10 of us, they saw us at the door at 5:55pm in the rain and just stared at us through the window, then looked down at their watch as if to say ''too early come back'' we had to wait in the rain before being let through the door! I get it, an opening time is an opening time and their opening time is 6pm but come on guys! you see it raining and your customers are 5 mins early and you look at your watch like that? It's arrogant, we paid £200 the least you can do is come in from the wind and rain :( in future maybe take bookings from 6:15pm and open at 6pm? A polite suggestion to ensure people arent waiting in the rain for the sake of 5 mins..

We've been to the E and O several times, but this was bad. When we arrived the restaurant wasn't busy, but still they managed to forget about us. After 20 minutes I had to find someone to ask for some drinks. A further 10 minutes later they still hadn't come to take our drinks order, and that's how the evening went on. The food was OK, but the evening was spoiled by the fact that we had to continually go looking for someone to either take our order or take the dirty plates away. It was a shame

Ordered a take-away, the food was rubbery and tasted like it was not fresh. Very disappointed. It cost be £25 and I wish they were consistently good. This was unusual but it’s not the first time we have had food that was really bad.

This used to be one of our favourite go to restaurants. A change in management/ownership (?) slow service and poor food, we will not be returning. The sauces on the vegetables, curries and other dishes was tasteless and the consistency of wall paper paste. The taste of the food was disappointing. It doesn't taste fresh. It's like they have pots of sauce which they dump onto the various food and microwave. We can spend our money elsewhere.

Lovely decor and a hidden spot in Chobham. The food was very tasty given how cheap the all you cane at menu is. Service was a little slow at times but it was a busy Sunday and all of the orders arrived piping hot. Will definitely be back

Amazing value for money for £20 per person on a freshly cooked all you can eat when the food is really tasty. We always get the duck pancakes and the crispy shredded beef which are always lush and then try different things around them. Can get very busy in the evenings so booking recommended and drinks can get expensive on top of the price per person.

We have tried this restaurant twice as a family of four and the cost adds up .synthetic orange sauce on sweet and sour chicken and the beef and spring onion went straight into the bin. More like braised beef and cabbage swimming in water.

Visited this establishment in a party of 6 for a family members birthday. The staff were very attentive and provided great advice when ordering, food was valuable and exceedingly tasty. Would recommend highly, especially in a group. Everyone left happy.

This was one of my favourites in the area, the manager used to know you by name! There has been a Management change I’m not sure when as I have been going about once every quarter over many years.

We went on a Tuesday evening and enjoyed the eat all you can menu which worked out to less than £20 per head. I would definitely visit this restaurant again and have already recommended it to friends.

We've lived in the area for 7 years and have always gone to other Chinese restaurants but wish we'd tried this sooner. It was very good. Nice atmosphere, very good service and all the food you can eat - don't order too many starters as otherwise you will be too full for the mains. Also, unlike other Chinese restaurants, you aren't rushed and you order each course as you go.

Been here before and was so pleased to be coming back. I do not drive, so this place is a bit of a distance for me,so when a friend suggested we go I was well up for it. Need to book, as for a Thursday, the place was packed. Great choice of food, friendly staff that gave alot of attention and once ordered, if you like something you can always get nmore of it. Hope I get to go again one day.

One of the best Chinese restaurants I have been to. Eat as much as you like for 21.95 pounds sterling. Food is excellent. Order as you go, starters followed by duck or equivalent then mains. Awful con! Eat as much as you like they say! We went as a group of four and had to share each tiny portion with long waits in between. Place was full of chavs and unruley travellers most of whom could barely sit on furniture. Left hungry and went home via the local chip shop. NEVER AGAIN.

We have been to this restaurant a couple of times but we won’t be returning. The service was awful and we waited 30 minutes for a drink and it was 50 minutes before we got food. It was just one issue after another. The food is lovely but not worth the wait.

Met some old work colleagues here for a night out, we had fantastic food and really enjoyed ourselves, the waitress was very attentive, but the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the waitress was clearly disappointed when none of us wanted alcohol this is obviously where they make there money

Had heard about this restaurant a long while back, so finally decided to go for Sunday lunch on a beautiful summer’s day. Somewhat surprised that we were the only customers entering at around 2pm. The restaurant is nicely decorated inside with a somewhat intimate ambience which was nice. The staff quickly put on some soft instrumental jazz music which was pleasing. The staff was pleasant and attentive. The order all you like buffet is served to your table and the food was good. All the dishes we ordered were served at just the right temperature which was nice too. The mussels were a delight as were the honey and chilli ribs, sesame prawn toasts amongst others. I think for the fixed price this restaurant is very good value for money and will definitely return to it again.

We have lived in the area for years and remember going soon after the opening in 2011. We have been quite a few times since but this visit was special with children, grandchildren joiningme and my wife to celebrate her 70th birthday. Ages ranging from 8 to 73 !

Booked here for end f week bite to eat. Not the warmest of welcomes but that’s the only negative point to be made. Service was fine, especially friendly from the young lad who told us he normally works behind the bar! Food tasty, it was warm, plenty of pancakes for our duck, would say sauce was a bit small portion size but it was problem when we requested some more. Starters all served together on one platter( other than the fish) and it looked really tempting. Main courses were all good especially the lamb dish, one of the chicken dishes was a tiny bit overcomes but not enough to worry about. The serving staff were all very pleasant, all in all everything one would expect from your regular Chinese restaurant, we’ll go back.

We usually go to our favourite chinese in Knaphill and in all the years we have been going there we have never ever had a bad meal but thought just for a change we would like to try somewhere different and so picked the Eastern & Oriental.

Been here 3 times good menu lots to choose from. Especially good for those hungry diners, as you can have as much as you like as long as you eat it all. We all enjoyed a really good meal. Service OK, VFM pretty good.

Taken here as a treat - and it was! Huge menu selection and it's eat as much as you want. All of the dishes we had were terrific, very tasty. They are served in smallish portions so you just choose a few and if you want me you just ask. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and the staff are exceptionally quick and helpful - and it was packed that night - nothing was any trouble. The prices are very good considering how much you get. the only minus is that the car park isn't large enough on a busy night. Will definitely return
