East Chinese Restaurant in Armagh

Half portion chip hardly enough for one person never mind two chicken curry was water,y no taste things most be bad ,hit and miss

Years ago there was best Chinese in Armagh, but after today I'm definitely won't be back here. The only spices I could taste was salt. Absolutely disgusting.

Lovely food our favourite was the Singapore noodles they are a 10 out of 10 for us also the the chef amazingly made a dish to order called Singapore Fried Mee Hoon which was the fantastic.

The chips and chicken balls can be hard sometimes

Got food for a birthday tea. The food we got was over cooked apart from the rice and chips. Not happy considering it cost over £50. This place has gone down hill.

Chinese wasn't great. Prawn crackers were Duck spring rolls were so greasy, and had no flavour. I asked for Kong po chicken and it was more like sweet n sour chicken Cantonese style. My husband wouldn't even eat the prawn crackers 😒

Had a return visit for a meal at East Chinese restaurant on Saturday night last ( after the Georgian Market day in Armagh City.) Had a nice surprise to see that the restaurant has been refurbished and was very stylish and comfortable and lively. Great service. Food was excellent as always and good value. Definitely recommend.

One of my favourites. The food is amazing to when sitting in. The rice and chips are the best even without anything else.

Early Bird is great value for money and you can bring your own bottle of vino lol what's not to like 😂🍷

Stopping for something to eat before heading home. We even had a beer while we waited. Pleasant staff.

The takeaway is always better than sitting in. Very quick food coming out and tend to get the feeling that staff and Mansger want you to finish your food asap. Chicken curry etc for a takeaway though is top class.

Food is very good... If you are in early it's 7.50 for 3 courses..... not massive but it is sit in so don't expect the good the same as take out lol. I would have given it 5 stars but I was charged £2.50 for a CAN of coke. That's a joke...

East Chinese use to be a half decent spot for eating. Seems now that they're the only Chinese restaurant in Armagh, their service and quality has suffered as a result. Wrong food brought to the wrong tables or sending customers home with the wrong orders, or food under cooked or too salty! I'll not be back, nor will most people I know. Not until they maybe try to sell out again and let someone else take over. Shame too.

Cant really complain, out of the options in Armagh for Chinese dining, this is the best hands down. The service is friendly, the food is very good, really long extensive menu which can be a bit complicated, but we eat here quite frequently and always enjoy it.

Fine meal. .. Can highly recommend the roast duck... friendly, helpful staff... Authentic food, and reasonably priced... Restaurant tastefully decorated. ..

Myself and my husband ate here as our usual Chinese was closed. Very prompt service, clean surroundings, good portion sizes and value for money. Would recommend for anyone in the mood for Chinese.

Fuimos a cenar un grupo de nosotros. El servicio es bueno y el personal es amable. La comida, por otro lado, está bien. Tuve la sopa dulce y agria, que era bueno. También teníamos el plato, que no era genial y el dim sum incluso peor. Tuvimos una gran variedad de platos principales. Salados chili pollo estaba bien, el sizzling estilo cantonés carne era buena, la miel chili pollo era buena y la salada chili calamar. El calamar fue correoso y el bateador era empalagoso.

Menú del almuerzo tenía una buena selección pero la comida era muy sosa y algunos campos de frío. Que no pudimos disfrutar de nuestra comida, el personal estaban de pie junto a nosotros esperando a la hora que tenía platos nuestro último respirar. El ambiente era muy pobre.

A casa desde una comida hermosa aquí esta noche y sentí la necesidad de recomendar el filete de ternera frita solomillo. Fue cocinado a la perfección y se deshacen en la boca. Este bistec era increíble. . Teníamos entradas y platos principales y todo estaba tan fresca. El servicio fue rápido y muy amable. Sin duda volveremos muy pronto. .

Comimos allí la última noche como despedida para nuestro hijo que se va a China a trabajar. Había 5 de nosotros y nos pusimos de acuerdo en el menú de 5 platos en 15.95. Compartimos un plato de bonito oriental, muy variada y muy sabrosa. Este fue seguido por pollo y sopa de maíz dulce, elección de plato principal pollo al curry individual, crujiente pollo en miel chili, estilo dulce y agria Pollo cantonés y Pollo pekín - luego helado y banana buñuelos y té y café. Bebidas incluidas botella de merlot - preciosa nos pidió un segundo. China cerveza strawberry daiquiri y unas cuantas botellas de coca cola. Toda la comida bien preparada y bien presentada. Servicio excelente. Muy amable, eficiente y oportuna. Izquierda totalmente llenos y preparados para tumbarse. En resumen, una gran noche. Un precio razonable por debajo de 130 por 5. Sin duda lo recomiendo.

Fuimos para probar las especialidades de comer como una familia. 6.50 libras por adulto £4.90. Comida de tres platos servido en su mesa recomiendo el hongo ajo entrante. Tuve principal pechuga de pollo en salsa con patatas fritas y guisantes de postre fue bananna buñuelos de. También nos dieron una jarra de grosella negra bill cordial total fue 25 libras. En general, la comida excelente y el personal es agradable

He comido aquí en varias ocasiones y la comida y el personal son excelentes. Es razonable y la única crítica que tengo es que la decoración es un poco viejo, está limpio y ordenado, pero sin hacer un lavado de ningún daño.

La comida siempre es deliciosa. Tenía muchas tiendas que son siempre hermosos. La comida servida era precioso, el personal es muy atento. Sugeriría la decoración podría hacer una reforma como parece viejo, gastado y algo sucios.

Bought Takeaway. 1. Ordered Singapore Fried rice and got Singapore Noodles with lots of salt - not edible. 2. Vegetable fried rice had lots of salt as well - not edible. 3. Chicken Fried rice - rice not cooked well, edible.

Este es un restaurante chino estándar que sirve todo lo que se puede esperar. He comido aquí un par de veces y pensamos que estaba bien, nada especial. Volvería si los amigos o la familia deseaba cenar en East pero no personalmente mi primera opción.

Pleasant premises, good service, Bland food! Disappointingly expensive. I've been here several times and always leave with the same impression. Surely it would be easy to make the food exciting - every dish tastes the same. Pity as it's the only Chinese restaurant in town.

Now our regular take away after eating in here - their chicken curry is the best we've had in Armagh! The waiters and waitresses are friendly and super fast, and surprisingly, it's not any more expensive than other Chinese takeaways in the town!

They are very quick, clean and they recently started to deliver! I haven't tried the home delivery yet, but their food is delicious and portions are big.

This restaurant speaks volumes about Irish expectations when it comes to Chinese food. After all, this is the first Asian restaurant where they will substitute chips for rice. What can you say about Chinese food..its tasty, its fast food..overall we enjoyed the food and the break from driving long journey. This place is one of our favourites, the food lovely and hot and no fuss. The take away always doing a roaring trade. If you like Chinese food then you will enjoy The East Restaurant...happy eating

We ate here on Saturday 8/11. We had the set meal B for 3 of us. Food was very good for the price. Only thing would be that the portions could have been slightly bigger.

Didn't like the way the spare ribs were cut off the bone. Honey and chilli chicken was nice. Allowed half noodles and half chips which was good.

Booked east for saturday evening for fathers day treat for dad. Allocated nice table with good view of whole restaurant. Busy night with a few large parties in attendance and a steady flow of customers which is always a good sign. Salted chilli chicken&spring roll starters were delicious,(dad saved himself for his main!).Salted chilli chicken especially tasty and a generous sized portion for a starter. Singapore chow mein, sczechuan beef and sirloin steak were our mains. Dad extremely fussy about his steak however he raved about how tasty it was & cooked to perfection! Served up with chips,peas,onions,mushrooms and sauce of choice. Food was excellent,great selection to choose from and good range of drinks including a cocktail menu! Prompt service and friendly attentive staff. Lovely evening,look forward to returning.

Fabulous food. Was really lovely, drinks service was excellent all night, very pleasant staff and atmosphere. Not sure if it is the restaurants fault or not but could hear music from pub downstairs all night which was annoying.

orderEd a pot of tea because the place was so cold, food was really bad, unsure if it was chicken r tofu? left our meals and went home and had toast... will not be back.. EVER! sShould have known better ebcause there wasnt a sinner in the place.

Four of us ordered a takeaway to bring back to our rented cottage in nearby Caledon and, while the service was friendly, I can honestly say it was the worst Chinese meal I've ever had in my life.Utterly tasteless trays of gloop, with very little to distinguish between dishes other than the colour of said gloop: orange, beige or brown.In fact, after chatting about it with my wife on the flight home, I've decided it's the worst meal of ANY KIND I've had in at least the last decade. The only thing that comes close is a bland plate of Fish and Brewis in a cafe on a sodden evening in Newfoundland in 2005.Avoid.

Started with the shared platter of starters,very poor selection of frozen starters for £12.00 would have expected more.Avoid soft drinks. £3.20 for a large coke ,ridiculous no need for that .Curry tasty enough though small portion,£45.00 for 2 adults and child with one main course only snd child's portion toooo much

Came here with a friend a few weeks ago, and good was delicious as always. Shared a platter to start and then ha the salted chilli chicken - most delicious salted chilli I've wee had! Portions are a good size and everything is fresh. Meal was great however was a little overpriced

Went with friends, I love Chinese food so was delighted with the wide selection available? Had chicken with chile and honey it was delicious, my husband who isn't a big lover of Chinese had a great fillet steak and peppered sauce. Staff where very friendly and attentive I will be back!!

Great food. Great service. Not much more to say or than it is hard to beat for Chinese food. It can be as cheap or expensive as you like.

I hadnt had the occasion to eat in East Chinese Restaurant for about a year. My last experience being one in which the food was nice but on the bland side. I went with friends recently. The restaurant was very busy, food was really good and the service frendly and efficient. However two things may put me off from going back for a while.Firstly, the cold. The restaurant was cold. People in our company didnt take their coats off. At the table next to us two women had their jackets draped over their shoulder throughout their meal. I noticed a couple of heaters in the middle of the restaurant but this wasnt enough to heat the area,Secondly, the strength of the odour and fumes from sizzling dishes being served at the tables was extremely over powering. It caught the back of my throat every time a sizzling dish was served near our table and distored the taste of my meal.That said, in the summer, when the weather is warmer and the restaurant can be better ventilated I will probably go back.

Great value 'business lunch' menu, really tasty, though wouldn't bother with the dessert that comes with it
