What a hidden gem. Beautiful, considered dishes. Lovely atmosphere and excellent service. All in, the best 1 star restaurant I’ve been to in London for a long time

Okay, so I have some thoughts.. overall the dishes for the tasting menu were okay. We didn’t personally enjoy the very first item served which were the Parmesan bite style starters ( Parmesan shortbread, grapefruit, fennel ) . The portion and densities between the biscuit and topping were not complementary. The star items the were pleasant to consume were the: - ‘Chaud froid’ hen’s egg, Pedro Ximénes, maple syrup - Ox tail risotto, aged rice, bone marrow, pickled chilli I have some thoughts on the servers that came to place the cutlery. Many of them seem to be young and inexperienced. They were placing them disproportionately to how they should be placed based, so we’ve been having to constantly move the cutlery ourselves. The gentleman however was excellent at serving us and had plenty of knowledge regarding their products. We noticed that the hung framed art works were not cleaned properly and had left plenty of streaks behind. We left feeling a bit too lethargic and our stomachs had an adverse reaction which had never happened before when going to these type of restaurants. So overall, I’m not keen on their tasting menu and full service, however we may give them another go with their other type of menus. Hopefully then things would’ve improved.

Beautiful, Michelin starred restaurant in old, Tudor, house with lovely log fire. Service was exceptionally good, friendly and efficient. We had three lunch menu which is not too expensive. The food was a little disappointing. Interesting dishes but lacking in tastes. The gravy in the partridge and lamb tasted the same. A bit bland and normal. Chocolate Pave was nice. The Nougat Glacé was OK but overpowered by the plums.

Went there for lunch on Saturday. Excellent service. Waiters/waitresses were attentive. Relaxing and cosy atmosphere with log fire. Food wise - slightly underwhelming given its Michelin one star. Presentation was good. Tasted a bit bland and “normal”, need to be a little bold and adventurous. We have to try the tasting/dinner menu next time for a better appraisal. My own score for lunch this time 7/10

We can't recommend Dysart enough. The restaurant is in a lovely building and the interior is incredibly well thought out. The food and wine pairings are some of the best we've had. Beautiful venue with a non-pretentious but elegant atmosphere, which I loved! The food was delicious and creative. We particularly liked being able to order the wines in 500ml, which allowed us to choose pairings to the courses together as a group, rather than going by the glass. Looking forward to returning soon!

The restaurant is set within a beautiful old property in the picturesque town of Petersham. I dined on a Sunday evening and enjoyed a wonderful tasting menu, enhanced with a couple of additional seasonal courses. Poor dining and customer service experience. Incredibly over- priced. Unbearably rude and arrogant owner, who clearly has aspirations of being a top restauranteur and dining establishment- but who clearly needs to learn about what constitutes good customer service and building relationships with locals. Food was over priced for what it was and the owner seems to have nothing better to do than be over bearing. (Probably because the place is empty most of the time) It’s a shame as the location is lovely but you can have far better meals and enjoy a far better ambience in lesser establishments in Richmond - as clearly pointed out by other reviewers.

So nice to try new things I've never had before and the waiters really kindly explained what everything was, happy to be asked, were a bit geeky about it, which was very sweet. Beautiful building, cosy and comfortable with a log fire, in a lovely location, right by the river and Richmond Park so you can walk off the calories.

We booked The Dysart on the recommendation from multiple friends and it certainly lived up to expectations. We opted for the tasting menu with wine paired and it was excellent. There was nothing stuffy or over the top but instead every course was just delightful, inventive but not confusing or too complex. The stand out courses for me where the Jerusalem artichoke velouté, black truffle, hazelnut and parmesan and also, the lamb with truffled baby leeks. I also thought the staff were very friendly, attentive but not too much and we had a nice chat with the owner. This place comes across very modest but the food is really quite fantastic. We will certainly be recommending this and hopefully can come back again soon.

The food was absolutely stunning. It was inventive, with very well balanced flavours, all dishes perfectly executed. The canapés and amuse bouche were really interesting introductions to this remarkably talented chef and helped set the tone for what was to come. The starter of Jerusalem artichoke veloute, with parmesan cream and black truffle was honestly one of those unforgettable dishes - as I write this review a week later, I am still pondering a return just to have this again. Not to say the rest of my courses did not reach the same heights - there was not a single course that missed - but this is the food you talk about years later, the reason you seek out places like this. The staff here - Barney in particular - are enthusiastic about the food, extremely courteous and attentive - without ever being overbearing. They really help create the atmosphere, which for me was warm and relaxing, perfectly complimenting the soft decor and interesting architectural features of the dining room. At £210 for 2 diners; inc. champagne, tea and a very well deserved tip, this is some of the finest food you will find anywhere in the UK at this price point. 10/10 overall.

Homemade focaccia brilliant, my veloute was sublime delicate with depth. My taste buds were zinging from start to finish. Entering The Dysart Petersham, we were met by Barny who is was of the best waiters and front of house staff you could possibly imagine. He was very welcoming, enthusiastic and explained every single individual meal with precise detail. He made us feel warm and extremely comfortable for the whole duration of our dining experience. The interior of the restaurant was beyond beautiful with some of the finest decor and wood carved tables. Everything was so clean it almost felt like it was a mini art gallery with their showpiece being the piano at the back of the restaurant. It is such a picture perfect modern design but with a tranquil feeling and atmosphere. The food was phenomenal, elegant and very well thought out by the chefs. Each course was a journey for the taste buds with simple yet sophisticated flavours that worked well together. The plating was done was everything you look for in a fine dining restaurant and flavour combinations were of the highest standard. Everything from the canapés, to the focaccia bread to the main meals left you wanting more even if you were so full by the end. That’s how good the food and service was. For nonalcoholic drinkers you will not be let down by the vast options of drinks they have on their menus from soft drinks to classic mocktails. The Dyasrt Petersham is a classic example of simplicity done right from the service, to the interior and then the food. Done correctly it leaves no room for error, you can tell that they care about their own standards and the consumer’s experience. I highly recommend this place for a romantic night out or a stunning friends or family lunch or dinner.

A group of us, 6 foodie explorers, tried the tasting menu with the wine pairing and loved it! Food was fantastic overall (with only a couple of dishes not fully hitting the mark for a couple people in the group but still nothing was left behind!). There were also a couple of dishes that pleasantly surprised the group (e.g. chaud froid hen's egg). Service was impeccable. The family atmosphere of the restaurant and hearing that they only converted the pub to a restaurant in 2010 and the chef has stuck with them since 2011, only added to the charm. We all felt satisfied at the end and would definitely recommend and return.

This hugely talented, yet modest, chef operates an absolutely superb kitchen at this very attractive and spacious restaurant on the Surrey/London border. He won the prestigious Roux Scholarship a few years back and his food illustrates the creativity and technical dexterity of a top end chef. Each course was a surprise in a good way and so different. Star of an amazing show was the charred bream, served in the most unctuous sauce with a real Asian twist. Front of house was impeccable: thoughtful, attentive, friendly. The bestie was in town so we booked lunch at dysart petersham for the tasting menu (£110). My friend did the wine pairing for (£65) and absolutely loved it. This was such a great lunch - we stayed for over four hours enjoying the food, the drinks and the service. The spiced pear tonic in the heat wave was just what the doctor ordered. My friend really enjoyed the pairing and also said he got a lot more wine than he was expecting as the glass portions were generous. Enjoyed a wonderful lunch, went for the tasting menu which was absolutely delicious and reasonable value relative to comparable Michelin-starred restaurants. Every course was great, absolute highlights for me were the 'chaud froid' egg (not at all what I expected but memorable), the charred bream and the lamb. Humongous amounts of truffle were (appropriately) served throughout the menu! Cocktails were excellent! Matched wines were also very good and worked with the menu, but with hindsight we'd have been better off ordering individual glasses as it was better value and there were a couple of wines not to my taste. Service was fantastic - friendly and attentive and not pretentious. Really nice, spacious restaurant interior, not crammed-in like other restaurants. Easy parking for the non-drinker (sadly, me) in the party. We will definitely visit again.

My Girlfriend and I had an exceptional lunch here last week, almost impossible to fault in fact. Dishes demonstrated excellent ingredient quality, distinct style, showed a high level of skill from the kitchen and were all seasoned perfectly.Service was no lesser standard, being professional, warm and highly knowledgeable. I am a Gluten intolerant person and although I was very considered in this regard it would have been great to have my own bread, rather than the admittedly lovely crispy Japanese crackers I was served. This is fussy though, and is born of the jealousy of the profoundly good Focaccia happening on the other side of the table. The dish of the meal was the Chicken dumplings, consommé and Truffle. Dazzling and life affirming flavours that make life Glorious. I first ate here 4 years ago, and this dish is miles above everything I ate here then. It's worth pointing out to the wine lovers of the world that the list here is incredibly fairly priced, chocka block with bargains in a restaurant of this quality. Oh, and the coffee truly is the best - Difference.Thank you to Barney for his friendliness, our charming Italian waiter who made the meal effortless and of course Kenneth and the kitchen team for making my Girlfriend's birthday so special. I had really enjoyed my previous visit to The Dysart and was looking forward to dinner. I thought the Tasting menu, which was the only option, at £95 was a bit steep but this has been a difficult couple of years for restaurants so was happy to give it a go. All started really well with a shot glass full of lovely stuff but sadly the rest of the menu did not live up to its promise - except for the bread which was excellent. The fish courses were ok but too many ingredients, sometimes fighting with each other didn't allow the fish to shine. The lamb course was under seasoned and something left a strange aftertaste, (poppy seeds?). The deserts were fresh and well presented. The service was very good, friendly and efficient, but the sooner we can ditch the masks the easier it will be for everyone. Something of a disappointment food wise so sadly not anxious to return.

I’ve eaten here several times and everything has been excellent, but on this occasion, the tasting menu just didn’t match my previous experiences. Everything was a little peculiar, dishes were under-seasoned and, in some courses, very oddly flavoured. A strangely metallic taste permeated certain dishes. Food was well-cooked, particularly the bream, but lamb was tough, stringy, chewy and very under-seasoned. I couldn’t identify why under seasoned food could produce a very strange after taste. Desserts were beautifully presented, but rather tasteless, which indicated that something in previous courses had interfered with my taste buds. The rest of the party felt very much the same.Service was charming, but courses were slow to arrive which indicated that something might have been going on in the kitchen! We had a lovely evening, but unfortunately the food wasn’t great.

I live locally and had a very enjoyable dinner here a few years ago so had reasonably high expectations. Sadly this time around was not the same quality. On the positive side the waiting staff were efficient and very professional. However the food was mediocre and very slow. We ate from the a la carte menu. Starter was a single scallop. In fairness to Dysart, it was described in the singular on the menu but was just a single, normal sized scallop which seemed very expensive for what you received! Main was ok, not terrible, but certainly not a michelin experience. It came close to 30 mins after the starter. One main of lamb was lukewarm. Pasta was ok, but very creamy. Overall, starter and main took 2 hours for a couple.

I really wanted to give a good review. The staff were really friend and tried hard to make our lunch enjoyable. The flavours were delicious, the food looked fantastic. But the bottom line is that you cannot send food to table lukewarm/bordering on room temperature. It really let you down.

We returned today for third visit. Ordered tasting menu with paired wines. Had this before and had enjoyed this special cuisine, which although pricey is special and different and usually worth it for special occasion. Today, although food was of usual high quality, thought attentive service was not of usual standard. When arriving at coffee options which would obviously be extra, very disappointed to find normal coffee as such no longer available. Instead special menu where specific coffee beans are charged for starting at £5.50 for single shot up to over £18.00 for a standard coffee. When having paid premium price for menu, think this is disappointing and spoils the whole experience. Waitress knew we were unhappy with new expensive coffee menu and after meal finished, we were not even shown courtesy of being thanked for custom and shown out of restaurant. :(I know everyone in economic climate need to make most of all opportunities to increase profits, but extortionate prices for a coffee after expensive meal seems a sad way to go! :(

Just outside Richmond, there is a large car park at the back. The restaurant is modern inside but also with a somewhat country garden feel about it. We were sat upstairs in one of two smaller rooms. We decided to have the tasting menu and very much enjoyed it. It was as inventive as we had hoped it would be and by the end I was just right, not overly full. Not wanting to detract from the rest of the menu, I feel I have to make a mention of the homemade sourdough focaccia, it was the best focaccia I have ever tasted.Service was very good and friendly. Occasionally we were served by Barry Taylor the MD which was nice and we had a good chat with him. Having a chat with those in charge of the place, the chef and/or the patrons makes a difference and shows off the passion of a place.I would certainly recommend and go back

The best dining experience I had so far! Located in a pitoresque part of South-West London, The Dysart is elegant, yet it doesn't intimidate like other high-end restaurants. It is friendly, cosy, and the service is impeccable! We were impressed by our hosts' knowledge and their suggestions were really inspired! Well done! As for the food, you can tell that the chefs are taking pride in what they do! Never knew you can taste so many flavours in one dish! I highly recommend the turbot, it was fantastic!

Had not heard of this restaurant but upon arrival the decor was welcoming for us. Our table was upstairs and was lovely and bright and spaced out. I had the Oak charcoal baked potato for starters, Agnolotti pasta absolutely gorgeous buttery texture and the Strawberry and Yorkshire Rhubarb for dessert. Great service and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. My only criticism was that we turned up not wearing a mask and was asked to wear one until we reached the table, I would have preferred that to have been our choice. We also had our temperatures taken, I think some restaurants need to move on with some procedures that were mandatory, we need to live with this virus and get on with our lives.

Incredible food & wonderful service. We had the tasting menu and it was pretty flawless, we had the basic wine pairing which was equally excellent. Service was attentive without feeling intrusive.

Visited with friends for tasting menu with flight of wine. Lovely welcome on arrival & a well placed table in spacious dining room. Most courses delicious & quite substantial portions. The cold focaccia bread course seemed a bit out of place, especially as more of the same bread was placed on the table throughout dinner. Also I’m pescatarian and for me the lamb course has been substituted for an amazing pasta dish. A nice touch however would have been to have offered me a more suitable wine as I received the same wine as the others had received with their lamb. Also our courses were delivered by many different staff members, some very confident & clearly very experienced & others not. It would have been nice to have had the consistency of the same one or 2 staff serving us.Overall a very pleasant evening in lovely surroundings.

Such a delightful place to lunch or dine. Really lovely, friendly and attentive staff and exciting cuisine. Our pasta main was superb, bursting with exciting flavours and exhibiting a really exciting creativity. The restaurant has a bistro style, tables are well-placed and ambiance is lively - there is a rather charming lack of stuffiness here and the excellent food makes the whole experience very pleasurable. The Dysart isn’t cheap, but it’s worth every penny.

Delicious, beautifully presented food in elegant surroundings with exemplary service. Every dish was well executed with some delightful flavour combinations (we have now tried both the tasting menu and a la carte). It was also great to have good alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktail options along with well selected coffee offerings.

Despite the fact I've lived near the Dysart for ages I have never visited thinking it was just a regular boozer. I couldn't have been more wrong. Well situated opposite the entrance to Richmond Park it has a lovely garden and the building itself is beautiful. Right from the start, the service is immaculate. We were led to a well situated table and were served canapes. My veggie friend chose the set lunch (with a veggie option) but I went the full hog with scallops and then a fantastic turbot which looked beautiful as well as tasting fabulous. Yes, it's pricey but well worth it.

We had the tester menu and the wine packet. The cold pea soup was fantastic, for a hot day in June it was one of the best things I have eaten for a long time. All the other dishes were all wonderful, the pistachio ice cream, was exceptional. We have tried to recreate the ice cream at home with no luck. The service is wonderful, with friendly but professional staff. We have already booked again for July.
