Dwbis is a small restaurant (take away) that serves delicious authentic Indian food - It has become a meeting place for myself and work colleagues within Carmarthenshire who don't wish to travel far. I have tried many things on the menu over the years and never regretted any of my choices. Tasty, authentic and plentiful with cheerful service too.

Food was very bland as stated by others! Normally wouldn’t have gone to a place like this as it looked run down from the outside but it’s a Sunday evening last minute visit on way home from a fanatic weekend in Cardiff. The owner was VERY VERY rude when we questioned the added drinks on our bill that we didn’t have. We asked for one coke and one appletizer, they didn’t have the appletizer so was happy for coke as well. Then they gave us one it a glass and one in a can and charged us £2.50 for the one in the glass and £1.50 for can then added an extra £4.95 for no reason. The chutneys are far too watered down and the Pasanda was a very strange consistency, lacked colour almost greyish. The plates and bowls were very old fashioned and ugly. The owner was also heard multiple times, being very rude and strict to the two young lads that worked there. He then could be heard in the middle of the restaurant in front of other guests calling us names for questioning the added drinks. The toilets that are next to the kitchen also smelt very bad when we walked in! Stay clear won’t be going back there that’s for sure!!!

This restaurant was cramp, staff do not have time or customers rapport. The food was bland and somewhat flavourless, this would be a great business opportunity in the right hands considering it’s the only one in a small up coming village . In this case missed opportunity as food is so poor and owners lack the friendly personal approach we are all used at our local Indian restaurant.

We are fussy and never like to experience a bad Indian. We thought it was excellent. The service was friendly. The poppadom and dips were fresh. The curry made exactly as hot as I requested. The onion baghi crisp and non greecy. We had an exceptional quality bottle of wine for a reasonable price. We had been in traffic for nine hours travelling from Devon to Wales and not in the best frame of mind. So it was the only positive experience from the awful trip. Found by accident and we will definitely return when we next in the area.

The food quality and service here are fantastic. We are regulars here. Ordered a Chicken Jalfrezi as part of a takeout order one evening and when we got home and I removed some ‘excess onions’ from the dish, I easily ended up with less than half a dish. Absolutely gobsmacked that the dish was bulked out with over 50% onions. Really thick wedges and even the heart of one onion also. Very disappointing and deceptive.

Really looked forward to a great Indian as it’s always been top class and my previous reviews have reflected that. Tonight was not great, my partners curry was dry and lacked creaminess, (although asked for it specifically to be thick and creamy) and the first lemonade was flat! Not good considering the price to serve flat lemonade. My curry lacked taste and was supposed to be medium chilli but was less than mild so overall disappointing. I don’t know how it lacked taste it just was not its usual great flavour! The young girl walked around clicking a biro Pen which was annoying although she was very polite and friendly and we were served our deserts on a cup saucer! I did bring this to the staffs attention but they behaved like I was the silly one for mentioning it. Like what is wrong with serving food on a saucer meant for a mug! It’s not right or proper. But I was made to feel stupid so just let it go. We drove an hour and half to get there cause we felt it was the best around. After tonight won’t be going back, time to hunt out a new Indian ‍♂️.

Everyone was very friendly, including the locals that apparently love this place. Had the best Saag Paneer that I've ever had and learned that the secret was British cheese! I had the Tandoori mixed grill on both occasions when eating here, the meat was very moist and brimming with more flavour than I've experienced at other Indian restaurants, these guys will even accommodate people with a very small appetite, and allow them to pick just a starter as a main meal, staff are very friendly and will chat if you wish, also if your glass is empty they'll ask if you'd like another drink, but if you decline, unlike other restaurants I've been to, they won't then bug you every 5 minutes to try to get you to order another drink, they'll actually leave you alone, to tuck into your food, you can with the Tandoori mixed grill upgrade the plain nan that comes with the dish, to a garlic or keema for an extra 50p, well worth it, this is the only Indian restaurant I can go to, and feel full after I've eaten, I myself have a large appetite, I even left some of my food on my first visit, as I was too full to finish, I enjoy going here, so if you haven't been, try it, the food is great, and my juice/J2O is always cold (I don't drink), but my dad had no complaints about his pint. :)

We were waited on very professionally in this wonderfully atmospheric restaurant. It was nearly full but the service was first class with plenty of waiters. Our food was fantastic and the Bengal fish special was a revelation. My friend and I both had the Bengal fish and loved it. The girls also enjoyed all their food. Highly recommended. All our food was of a very high standard and I really cannot understand some of the bad reviews on here!!!?!If I had any criticism, it would be that the toilets do have a very slight sewer smell and the restaurant could do with a lick of paint, although these are just observations and can be easily remedied and neither of them detract from the fantastic food, served at this top quality restaurant. Outside is a huge sign saying "Sunday Buffet £8.95 Eat As Much as You Like". This is a lie. Firstly it is a set menu and not a buffet and secondly you can only have one starter each. You can only order another main if you clean your plate. To make things worse the prices are quiet expensive so 3 poppadoms and chutney will cost you £4.50 which you'd expect to be included in an all you can eat offer, however they are not. The Aloo side we had was very basic, basically boiled potatoes with a tiny amount of sauce. Also no high chairs for babies - but you can bring your own. The issue with the places as others have said is that lack of competition has resulted in complacency. I suspect regular visitors havn't been anywhere else to compare. I wouldn't go back, not because of the lack of buffet but the lack of effort in general.

Dwbis is a small curry house that is very popular in this area. We have been to this restaurant numerous times and have not been disappointed yet. We generally go on Sundays, when they do a set priced menu, where you choose a starter, main course, side dish, rice and bread. You can order more if you finish, but you'd need a big appetite to justify doing this. The selection is good and should suit most people, but you can order off the main menu if the choice is not sufficient. This will be charged at the usual menu rate, so take that into account. You will need to book to guarantee getting a seat on Sundays, as it is very popular and not the biggest of places. The staff are always very welcoming and it is good value for money in my opinion. I would recommend visiting on other days as well, as the menu is extensive and the food has always been very nice.

When myself and my family eat out we usually have an Indian and we often try new Indian restaurants rather than sticking to the 'same old same old'. I think the main issue with this restaurant is that there is no real local competition and possibly their loyal customers havn't ventured outside of the local area. We found the food very very bland and spiceless. We didn't order much, 1 main, 3 sides, 3 naans, 1 rice and 3 papadums (between 3 people) and the takeaway total came to over £30 which seemed to be a little more expensive than other places. As well as the food lacking spice and heat the Tandori mixed grill meet seemed very dry, I'm not sure if it was overcooked or if it had been cooked earlier and then heated up. We certainly won't be going back and as they do not do delivery on takeaway we'll simply drive that little bit further to Pontarddulais.

New to the area and this place was recommended to us so had a takeaway. Lovely food, decent portions. Good price, didn't have to wait long for it to be cooked either. Very friendly staff.

We love going here as a family of 4. The food is excellent as is the service.Usually we eat in but sometimes have a take away, either way they have not disappointed us yet. I especially love the depth of flavour in the byriani dishes. I know everyone has different expectations but personally we love the food here and would recommend.

Mam had chicken Tika masala pilar rice witch was awful and me and my dad had rogan Josh witch was terrible had 4peices of chicken each and they filled the rest with tomatoes absolute awful meal. Friends recommended we call and try it well we won't be going back in a hurry !!!

We visited on a busy Saturday evening in October. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We had tasty starters and when the waiter asked if we would like our main courses as we finished we asked for 5 minutes before they were brought to us. It then took a bit longer, so we weren't sure if our dishes had been ready and were just sitting there or were used for takeaways and then our own dishes cooked for us. When the main courses came they were very tasty, although one or two were a bit lukewarm which led us to believe they had just been sitting on a hot plate waiting to be served. The chicken in mango sauce with cream was delicious as was the Chicken Male (think that was the name of it) which went wonderfully well with the Saag Aloo. All round excellent. We looked at the dessert menu, but there was no Kulfi, which we both like. We mentioned this to the waiter who said sorry there was none. He came out a few minutes later and said there was some, he hadn't realised as he'd been away for a while. So we ordered one each. It came - rock hard - in small round porcelain pots with lids - and topped with crumbled pistachio bits. Not very easy to eat and not recognisable as the little mount vesuvius style of green pistachio kulfi we are used to. That was the only minus point really. Otherwise highly recommend it and would go back. Great value.

Really nice restaurnt with great food! Sunday night is the best time to visit as it's the buffet menu. Only down point is sometimes one of the staff members can be really moody and rude. Other than him, all the other staff are super friendly and really nice.

Visited as a group recently, many of us complained that the food was cold, all the curries looked the same! Nice surroundings, nice company but an abrupt waiter and poor food did spoil an otherwise good night.

Not much on offer in crosshands, but dwbis is definitely worth a visit. Recommended by a local the exterior doesn't hold much promise but step inside and it's a smart Indian worthy of a Fontenot city. All the usual is on offer and it's fresh and hot. Excellent service rounded off a pleasant meal, mixed entrees, chicken biriyani, madras, etc. Well worth a visit !

I have visited here many times over the last 6 years. I feel that the standard isn't as good as it used to be. But it's ok if you want an ok meal. I've never had a bad meal here. But I haven't had a fantastic meal in a few years now. It is a shame it isn't so good now. But I still go here because there isn't another Indian sit down near here for a few miles and I live in hope they will get their old spark back. Service is always good. You never have to wait long for it to arrive

If you ever fancy an Indian meal sit in or take out this is one of the best local places to go. The food is always ymmmy! My only advice would be, if you're planning on eating in, book a table as it gets very busy. :D

Called back on way home from Cardiff on a Saturday evening. We were a group of 7 and had booked a table. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel an inconvenience and told they would be needing our table in a while as they had another booking! We were expected to give our order within 5 minutes of being seated and waiter was huffing and puffing while we tried to decide while he stood over us. The food was good but we were unable to relax. We were not offered the sweet menu but hastily produced the bill. Between the 7 of us the bill was a hefty total and you would assume our custom valued. But no, it was goodbye and good riddance! What a huge let down, as I have rated this place highly in the past. We will not be returning to be treated badly.

If you want to eat in this place, you need to be very patient. Priority is given to people phoning in for a take away. When we arrived there were very few people in the restaurant, 2-3 tables. They hesitated to give us a table, but we said that we wouldn't be hanging about so they gave us a table. We waited ages before anybody came to take our food order. The phone was constantly ringing and these calls were given priority. The drinks order was taken quickly but it must have been half an hour before they took the food order and another 20 minutes or so before the food arrived. Yes, the food was good, but my advice is just get a take away from this establishment.

On our visit, we were welcomed by the Manager, Jason who was extremely pleasant. The service was excellent and the food simply amazing. There is an extensive wine list with a selection of beers on tap and in bottles. Very friendly atmosphere, good value and fantastic quality food makes Dwbi's the destination of choice, for restaurant and take away food in the Crosshands area.

We were stuck for somewhere to go and decided to arrive by chance.I had visited the restaurant several years back. It is Indian Cuisine. It's layout is pleasant and being a Saturday night was very busy. We arrived about 7:30 and fortunately were able to have a fable for two. Initially we were concerned as there seemed a long waiting time to take an order (15 minutes) - we looked around and several other tables seemed to be in the same position. We called the waiter over and he explained there was a huge rush on the kitechen due to takeaways. However he took our order then and we did not have too wait long and the food flowed in a timely manner. The class of food was excelent and the service attentive so well worth another visit.

The staff act as if their doing you a favour leaving you eat at their restaurant. The food was bland, we had 3 different dishes between us and we couldn't tell the difference between them, which may I add were not cheap and to top it off my son and I were up being sick most of the night!!!! Never again

Was expecting a little better from here. Maybe it was because they were very busy or maybe by comparing them to Gingers in Carmarthen makes it difficult to meet that standard. Food was a little bland lacking flavour. The place was very clean and staff helpful but will return to Carmarthen in future

We ordered takeaway from the Indian Lounge whilst we were away on holiday. As we weren’t comfortable staying in a restaurant due to COVID we’d looked up takeaway places in Llandovery, and as there weren’t many we decided to go here, but we were very disappointed. When calling to order the man who answered sounded as though he didn’t want to be there, answering with a massive sigh! Then after ordering two mains, rice and a naan we were told it would be ready to collect in 10 minutes, which gave me concern. Unfortunately, we were right to be fearful. The two mains were very bland, particularly the Korma, the rice in my opinion had been frozen as there was a layer of water underneath it, that was after pouring plenty away. The naan was the only good thing.

With take always in Llanelli, they are rushed and taste like they came out bulk. With this food, it has no hairs or germs and tastes wonderful, the staff was great and didn't mind having a conversation. Although the food was a little slow, it's worth it and the bad reviews are not actually true. Nice sides aswell of the decour.
