Relatively simple menu but it was tasty....staff were pleasant but felt like they were a bit short staffed

A nice pub in typical English style, the food was very good and well-kept (maybe a little bland, But the salt is on the table, no big deal). The waitresses are very friendly and attentive to the service... There is a good selection of beer and an interesting dessert menu

Had a family get together for Sunday lunch it was amazing can't fault it at all. The young female waitress was very professional and got everything right as they were a lot of us. We will definitely return.

Lovely pub and the food is gorgeous and really reasonably priced! & the place is dog friendly, doesn’t get better than that really!

Our absolute favourite pub & restaurant, it’s beautiful the people there are welcoming and accepting of everyone you always feel at home. Drinks are always a great selection food is wonderful, if you’re lucky on a cold day you can sit in a beautiful booth by the roaring fire. So up to date, a modern jukebox accommodating everyone’s choices we couldn’t love it more :)

Absolutely brilliant, the staff were very quick to serve us and very helpful and friendly,can't be more impressed with staff service, credit to the owners,the pub was very clean, and as my followers know, if the toilets are pristine,you can expect throughout,and we were not disappointed, we didn't have a meal on this occasion but trust me,from what we observed coming from the kitchen, we will defo be back for food. Menu may make you think that's expensive for a burger,but trust me,you will get a lot more than you expected, do not pass this pub, even if it is just for a drink,you will not be disappointed and the price of the beer is good. Real ale as well as a wide choice of drinks.

We've been a few times for meals but not Sunday lunch before. All I can say is it was fantastic, the food was excellent, the roast potatoes where amazingly good, and the beef slices were more like steaks. The extra touch were the fried onions on top. Proper juice gravey too. Everything was served fresh by really good staff. Would highly recommend l.

We’ve been looking for a proper local pub since moving to the area and we think we’ve found it! Every member of staff had a smile on their face despite it being probably one of the busiest periods of the year. Felt instantly welcome, and so did the dog! Great atmosphere, and proper wholesome, home cooked food. We’ll be coming here plenty!

Called in today 10th December on the off chance of getting a table on our way to York from the Wirral,young ladies behind the bar couldn't have been more helpful and found us a table.We both had the Sunday roast which was absolutely fantastic,veg was fresh,Turkey was cooked to perfection and Roast potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle (just like they should be).The portion size was huge and excellent value,we followed this meal with 2 cappuccinos which were just right.All in all we had a fantastic stop and this will be our new refreshment stop on our way to York or Whitby.All the ladies serving were very professional and nothing was too much trouble for them,they are an absolute credit to your pub.The pub is also decorated for Xmas and it is amazing and well worth a visit.

Excellent food. Well cooked and well presented. The desserts were to die for. Good selection of wines and good quality.

We have been here a couple of times and had the cheese and onion baguette which was delicious...plenty of cheese and a little onion on a nicely toasted baguette. Today we had the same and the meal was awful. Masses of raw onion and a little cheese on a baguette which was hardly toasted. The difference between this and previously was like chalk and cheese. We can only assume it is a new chef.

The food was nice but I don't appreciate being charged 90p for half a cordial when my drink was half a lager and lime. The lime in this drink is just a dash and certainly not half and half. 90p is way too much.

Family meal out with mum and dad , my mother asked for something off the menu and the chef dud for her fantastic she was over the moon with her hunters chicken as she is a fussy eater. Dad was pleased with his fish and chips and I had the gammon. Great portions we'll done to all.

Visited with family. Friendly and quick service. I had the chili burger and the other meal was the prawn and tuna salad. Generous portions and home cooked. We will visit again.

What was good - the main, first waitress was lovely, polite and pleasant. What was bad - our sirloin steaks and chips were quite frankly, terrible. We ordered gluten free, so that meant they omitted onion rings, but it came with fries that were different to those eating non gf, and I can only assume that the oil that they were cooked in was off as they were truly disgusting, totally inedible. They even smelled foul and quite strong. They were a totally different colour to other people’s chips who hadn’t ordered gf. I handed my plate around the other people who were eating to check it wasn’t just myself and my daughter, but everyone agreed they were terrible and had a very odd strange taste. I’ve had not so good chips n my life, but never so inedible. And the steaks - well my daughter ate 3/4 of hers as she was absolutely starving but she didn’t enjoy it and she couldn’t eat the chips. I however, couldn’t eat more than a couple of small mouthfuls of my steak, it tasted like unfresh meat, far from a lovely tender juicy medium-rare steak. I had a huge clump of raw fat on mine and the steak was frankly unpleasant. Even the peas were strange - some were pale green and wrinkled, cooked to death and looked like they’d been cooked hours ago, and they were mixed with others a totally different colour. Certainly not what you’d expect for a £16 + meal. By the time the waitress checked on us, my daughter had eaten most of her steak - but not the chips - and I explained my concerns and handed back my full plate - and said I am afraid I’m not paying for that. My daughter had 3/4 of a steak and we were still charged £16.50. The rest of the party’s meals were ok, but sadly it put a dampener on the evening which was for a birthday. I went home ravenous as I did not want to risk a dessert after such a bad experience. Sadly, we will not be returning.

Rob and staff do a brilliant job by creating a friendly atmosphere. Top quality meals and served within a good time. Enjoyed the quiz. Recommended for a good night out.

Firstly the pub is clean inside and out, offering seating inside & outside (including smoking & none smoking areas). The choice of drinks including real ales is excellent The menu is also very extensive with plenty of options for all tastes including veggie, vegan & gluten free. The staff are all professional, knowledgeable, polite but mainly extremely friendly. My Australian friend joining me for lunch asked for items not necessarily on the menu but was accommodated without a blink of an eye. Good honest food delivered with an excellent service by an amazing team brilliantly managed by Rob & Craig. Improvements- Cheese & Onion Pie as an everyday choice on the menu

Booked after seeing exiting new menu all I can say is SHOCKING had fish and chips I can eat anything not fish and chips at Dusty . Admittedly the waitress did offer to change it but unfortunately we don’t go out as a couple to eat alone should be right first time .

This is a great pub the food is excellent along with service all the staff are very friendly and helpful. We will be there again when in that area

Visited here with a group of friends and we all really enjoyed it. The staff are top tier, very attentive, on the ball, friendly and welcoming- honestly how it should be everywhere, but rare to find. The owner and all the waitresses that we spoke to were just spot on. Sat outside and was lovely in the sun. The food all came at good times, was hot and such good value for money. The nachos and gammon were very tasty. Will definitely be back here again. Also dog friendly.

Lovely home cooked food, great quality and best of all “a good Yorkshire price”. Waiters\waitresses really attentive and the owner always asking if everything is ok. It’s what you pay for plus allot more #wortheeverypenny

Went for spot of lunch ordered a fish finger buttie , 3 soggy fish fingers in a Warburton type soggy teacake , no garnish not eaten here before, won't return think my 10 year old could do better.

We couldn’t eat our meals. Sweet chilli chicken baguette was awful. Dry sliced chicken covered in a watery tasteless sauce. Steak was rare and chewy. Fries were ok. But. If you want a night out no food, definitely recommend it.

Rude, racist and ignorant owner, overheard disgusting language!! Wife is mixed race and absolutely disgusted by what I heard. Will not be returning. Shame as food was nice and pub has a good outdoor area - all ruined by management.

We visited today for father's day staff were fab getting us in last minute, service was great they were amazing to us and our little girl always checking if we needed any more drinks and if food was OK didn't have to wait long for food either and the food was lovely I had steak and it was cooked perfectly overall was a lovely visit 😀

Good Food, God beer, good company.

Called in 3 days before second lock down for lunch with the wife. Lived in Brighouse for years but never been before. Wish I had now.The choice of items on the menu was just right. Not too much to be overwhelmed, yet enough to have a good choice.Food was served very quick and was hot. The quality was fantastic. The steak and Kidney pie was one of the best I have ever tasted.The veg was cooked just right with plenty of taste, not overdone or tasteless.The size of the meal was very generous leaving no room for a puddingThe service was brilliant. Friendly and informative staff, who gave you just the right amount of attention, not overbearing or pressurized yet not ignoredAll in all, a fantastic experiance, one which I hope will be repeated when they re-open. I have already recommended the venue to friends and hope to arrange our first club party when regulations allow after the current pandemic is over
