Got the complete wrong order, sent it back and was made out it was my fault. Had to pay again in order to eat something. Not an apology or anything, appalling service.

had the cumin chicken, aubergine with chilli oil and pork mince, beef and carrot dumplings and Dan Dan noodles. amazing flavours, extremely generous portions and all at an amazing price. had been a couple times but these dishes were unreal

Here's a really cheap restaurant with really quick service and a lovely menu. I would highly recommend it.

Early afternoon pre ordered takeaway to be delivered @18.15. Order delivered one and a half hours late @ 19.30. Pork Char Sui was disgusting IT arrived cold and with miniscule shreds of pork, really just a portion of cold noodles. Spring rolls cold and soggy. beef in black bean sauce cold and lacking beef. Noodles cold. The chef?? and I use the word loosely as I very much doubt that there is a chef, should be sent for cookery lessons. NEVER AGAIN!!!

The service attitude is extremely poor. I clearly didn’t hear my order clearly. The stupid waiter acted like he was trying to reason with me. He blamed the customer when the dish was wrong. His tone was so awesome that no one dared to touch him. The food was average and the beef brisket was The meal is just three or four pieces of beef, and it sells for 5.8 pounds. Don’t go to this restaurant, family members. If you make a lot of money, you will drift away. Let him die.

Abundant, good and cheap rations

Best food in Glasgow without a doubt. Amazing value for money, incredibly quick service and excellent food. Takeout, eat in and delivery all great. Dont expect to be treated nicely, do expect to hear the staff shouting at each other. 11/10 would recommend.

Dumpling Monkey is great! Unassuming, highly efficient service and incredibly tasty food. I recommend the pot skin dumplings, peking spare ribs and the pak choi. If I were a local, this would be a regular for me.

Best dumplings in Glasgow, fantastic value for money

We turned up 2 minutes to 12 and the door was open so we walked in to have the woman run at us waving her hands and screaming for us to get out all the while the man was behind the counter brushing his teeth where everything was getting prepped. You make up your own mind but not letting us sit down two minutes early plus the behaviour of the woman put us off and we swear elsewhere. Good luck to you, it may be cheap but is it worth it?

Great food amazing fried dumplings in a small cozy place food/prize quality is great

The best tenner you can spend on a meal in Partick. The pot stickers are divine, especially in the dead of winter. Covers a range of preferences from mild to spicy and vegetable-loving to vegetable-hating. When you're collecting, mind and follow the staff to the other side of the shop, because it's quite a small place.

Street food like you have never tasted, Great selection, served quick and leaves you wanting more if you could fit it in as the portions a generous.

Came for dinner loads, food is very cheap with huge portions so can always take leftovers home. Dumplings, salt and chilli tofu and salt and chili chips are always delicious. Nice cosy restaurant that’s always super busy. Some of the staff are quite abrupt, but the younger ones are all very polite.

Food was good value for money, but there is a scary person who keeps shouting at the waitresses.

The lunch menu is 5.8 pounds and comes with a simple but filling rice bowl. I was happy to have proper fried noodles for the first time in a long time. The dumplings are also delicious.

The service attitude was extremely poor. The eggplant was not cooked today and was bitter. I asked to have it redone, but she refused and gave me my money back, saying she didn't have time to do it again. She had an extremely bad attitude towards me when I responded to the problem. She didn't want to solve the problem, she just wanted to drive me away. I will never go to this restaurant again. I hope everyone choose this restaurant carefully.

It's comfortable, welcoming and delicious...the staff were very nice and gave us lots of time to decide what we wanted without pestering us, the proces were extremely reasonable and the portion sizes were absolutely excellent 🙌 as its winter, I grabbed some soup to scran alongside some pot sticker dumplings and I inhaled all of it , would absolutely recommend for solo eating or with friends 😊

We were appalled by the way we were treated when we entered here, we have heard good things about the food here so we were looking forward to trying it out and was met with extreme disappointment when we were rudely told we could not sit down as we had our pram with us. It was not busy and there was a table with space to park up the pram that was not in the way of the entrance or walkway but this was met with a no and there was no reasoning with the rude staff member. We questioned why we couldn’t sit and eat as it wasn’t busy and we weren’t in the way of anyone but unfortunately we were clearly not welcome as we had children with us. We will never be back and will make sure that others are aware of the awful way we were treated.

I consider myself somewhat of a Chinese offcicando (excuse my Italian) but this is the worst Chinese I’ve ever had in Glasgow. It’s just arrived and they’ve messed up our order so bad and delivered such bad food I’m shocked. The curry we got was the most bland boring curry I’ve ever had that was so cold it was congealed like it had been sitting out for hours. Both the Katsu and the regular Chinese curry. The chips were soggy and wet and the rice is hard as anything. It’s like they’ve left it out for hours Go somewhere else like lemon tree or literally any other Chinese near by. Terrible

Noodles and dumplings were delicious!

Unreal food, the chicken dumplings are simply amazing you have to try it. They have a small lunch menu alongside their main one.. Today I opted for the Char Sui pork and rice, with a side of tea eggs and chicken dumplings, including a bottle of water it came to £11, total bargain.

Fast, functional eatery that offers lots of choice between Anglo-centric Chinese food and more authentic cuisine. Special mention goes to the Dumplings (obviously) and also the Dan Dan Noodles. Oh, and the bao.

Food is good, very poor service, cashier was rude and orders were wrong. EDIT this got worse in the time we were here, the food was poor and the orders wrong and the cashier continued to be rude.

Manager has a terrible attitude! Due to a mistake by their staff to over swipe the amount, I went to seek a solution hoping that they could help me reconcile my bill through their sales records. When I made my request（that was just my first sentence）and was met with a very strong, arrogant rejection!!! Needless to say, I was shocked….. I don't think it's acceptable to run a restaurant that treats its guests with such an attitude…. And even more so, when they have done something wrong and put up an extremely rude attitude!

This used to be my favourite place in Glasgow but service has gone downhill over the past year and a half. Menu desperately needs updating, if certain things haven't been available for over a year now they probably ain't coming back (also bring back the mooshu chicken and mooshu pork please). If you want a table and you are white, you are automatically given a fork instead of chopsticks - what am I supposed to do with a fork with most of the dishes on the menu? Staff at the till shooketh to their very core that I wanted another meal on top of the small portion of dumplings, while the size of the dishes is a lot smaller than it used to be. I will be back but I am sad that this is no longer the place it used to be.

Tasty food fast service, but the restaurant was a little bit grubby.

food was lovely ...but orderd wonton starter...and got big bowl of wonton soup that cld b a main course...too much.! thought i was gonna get 4-6 wontons with dip...be warned... i hate wasting food...

Lovely place for a chinese. Their beef and carrot pot stickers, aubergine with pork mince and braised beef lunch tray are our go to whenever we visit.

Bad service, stubborn people, won’t come again

It is great to see these places emerging, idea is fabulous, but food varied in how good they tasted. I was expecting WOW, but got much less. Still worth a visit.

Would give more stars if there were more dumplings on the menu! It's called Dumpling Monkey but is just a Chinese restaurant.

Ordered food on justeat for it to be “confirmed” for an hour for it then to be cancelled after an hour half. Could’ve told me quicker

Ordered food at 5, never showed up. If you phone to ask where your food is your just given the drivers number who will go out of his way to help in any way he can. But at the end of the day his job is hard enough, it’s not on him to deal with customer grievances from the road. Poor show. Again massive thanks to the driver for all his help but let down by shop staff.

Small cute place for a perfect meal and for the folks who loves Chinese food I must say this is a go to place for you guys. 🤤😋😋😋🤤🤤🤤

Great wee place service and food great

Really busy.. take away inside beside seated customers no very nice if you are at the table next too the till or people standing next too you're table while you are eating. Food was bland and chicken was dry brocoli and garlic was expensive for a small amount of brocoli and a bland sauce. Would not come back.

With this cheap price, I am quite satisfied with what I ordered: chashao fried noodles and dumpings.

Excellent food at a great price. Shocking customer service. Got a delivery. It is delivered by their own team. No heads up or estimated arrival time. Takes forever. When it comes delivery drivers are very rude and if you don’t answer first time will go with your food and not return and you can’t collect it. Very very rude. But, good Chinese. Recommend take away.

As a Malaysian Chinese I do not recommend here, as the food is greasy and not hygienic. Because I got food poisoning straight after I had 牛腩饭and 五香牛腱, both of these are meat, so I don’t think it is fresh..

We visited this restaurant with a colleague who has only just recovered, one of our group tried both of his dishes and she had a very mild version of what our friend had but it was still fairly unpleasant. The service while we were there was very strange, the older manager (female) spent a lot of time barking at both staff and customers which made for a rather uncomfortable meal. We'll try somewhere else next time.

This will be a very short and sweet review, I was fasting for 24 hours and ate here and I was so I'll after eating, it took me almost 5 days to recover, I have never been this ill from food poisoning, I contacted them and they barked at me that "no, it wasn't their fault". Food posioning from a restaurant in the UK should not be possible. Awful place.

We ordered chicken dumplings, pork dumplings, salt and chilli chicken and char Sui pork. Whisky the portion sizes are good, the salt and chilli chicken was bland and a bit disappointing. The char Sui pork was delicious. The service was super duper quick and the price was very reasonable. I would happily go back but replace the salt and chilli with maybe a more traditional dish.

As always excellent food and cheap not the most attractive of places but it doesn't pretend to be anything else.

This is Chinese restaurant at 121 Dumbarton Road not far from the Kelvingrove Art Galleries.This is a small place,nicely decorated.You order at the till and pay.The noodle soup base was delicious and hot but the meat was a bit tough on the top.The other meal of vegetables and noodles was good.The staff were pleasant.Overall good.

BUGS! My friend is vegetarian and ordered the vege soup noodles, half way when she has already eaten them we discovered that it was infested with small bugs, which looked like lice, possibly from NOT washing their vegetables, or as if someone had actually had lice. Very disappointing as the food tasted good but clearly not hygienic.

Cheap and cheerful British Chinese food. They have a small selection of the authentic stuff like the dumplings, Baos and some noodle dishes. Great for a quick bite to eat or a takeaway.

Had a great lunch here whilst wondering around the West End. All our food came quickly after ordering and staff were very attentive. We especially enjoyed the special dumplings!

My go-to Chinese restaurant. Everything they have is amazing and super tasty. The best Chinese I've been to so far in Scotland. Nothing beats their pork and chive dumplings and their noodle soups.

I think they sell food which was clearly left overnight, or perhaps more (most of which is meat). You can't fool my tastebuds or anybody's for that matter if we're talking about chicken or fries. I don't understand how they get away with reheating meat and selling to people the next day. I wouldn't recommend this place...

Great noodle soup, delicious dumplins

Simply unreal. I seriously recommend the dry pork chilli noodles, pork and Chinese leaf dumplings, pork ribs and the tom yum soup. Wonderful flavours, serious chilli and outstandingly quick service. Get yourself in here for authentic dumplings, noodles and more.

Manager is discriminatory and asks uncomfortable and highly inappropriate questions regarding ethnicity when trying to order. Also doesn’t listen to you while your ordering, as she talks over you telling you to tell others at the table to hurry up and decide what THEY want to eat despite only arriving within the last 10 minutes. 4th time now I have been watched extensively multiple times during my meal as if its’s criminal to eat. Really appalling and upsetting behaviour. The rest of the staff are generally very nice from my times there.

Solo looking for some fast food, dropped in here, looked a bit out of place in a suit, the rest were all students. Staff a bit sullen and not overly welcoming but food order quickly taken. The food arrived quickly and was really tasty, Chicken dumplings, Charsui steamed buns and chicken noodle soup. Great food, good value, in a little cosy café. Will drop in again when in the area.

This place is so good. Rapid service, great environment, very clean and exceptionally affordable. Would definitely go back and would recommend to anyone!

This restaurant is weird, first of all the food honestly isnt that bad i went with some friends and they got noodles but i got fried rice with katsu chicken and i liked it, the service tho at first wasnt that bad but the next time i went there it felt like i was being persecuted, not saying that i was of course but the staff wasnt friendly, anyways its good if you want cheap food under 10 quid worth a visit

Previously sat in to eat a few years ago now. I had a notion for the broccoli in garlic, opted for beansprouts to go with it. Portion size it could have all went in the one tub. Considering the ingredients wouldn’t have cost a lot. Poor value at £11. Tasted watery. Sadly I won’t be rushing back.

Came recommended but on the day it was hectic, service was random and unconnected, the dumplings were chewy and the duck curry had more skin and gristle than duck meat. At least it was cheap and we had good company.

Best dumpling in the west end of Glasgow

We ordered a delivery on uber eats. The eta was around 40 minutes, two hours later we were still waiting. We phoned at one hour and the man who answered assured us that it was on his way. He did not show up and then the restaurant closed it was so late. Very disappointed.

This is a place I keep coming back to whenever I'm in Glasgow. The Dan Dan soup is one of the best Asian soups I've had in Europe :)

I was craving dumplings and was dying to find a good place to regularly get some. Came across this place, ordered chicken and pork fried dumplings. Not impressed at all. The dumplings were kinda burnt in patches, tasted bland and meh. It felt like I was disturbing and inconveniencing the staff for daring to buy food from them. Just wouldn't recommend at all.

Did not enjoy my lunch here. The lunch time beef with potatoes was not nice; grissly and the star anise just over powered the dish. Service was slow and the waitress was a little moody.

Food was nice and cheap but the seating arrangement ( they cram you into a small space when they have an empty room next door) and the customer service is awful. Would only order from takeout.

If you like gunge and food that tastes ok but is not attractive to look at - you will like Dumpling Monkey. Functional with food that is very rough round the edges. There are far better places nearby with superior food and superior presentation.

Dont deliver outside immediate vicinity even though uber accepted order

Not point saying you close at 10pm when we arrive to a nearly empty restaurant at 9.20 to be told take away only after we got sat down. Bad customer service

Angry little man and Co; easy frustrated staff that left their smile in the toilet. Old Chinese saying “don’t open shop without smile,” however; manager and waitresses at ‘Monkey dum dum duh, don’t care. They’re angry, rude, frustrated, and curse in Mandarin at customers.

Too bland and cold. We went for dinner and ordered mapo tofu and crispy sweet and sour pork. The mapo was bland and no flavour, so we had to put a lot of soy-sauce to make it edible. And the sweet and sour sauce was simply sickly sweet. I've never had sweet and sour sauce as bad as this, and I'm from Shanghai, so I know what is good and bad Chinese food. The restaurant is also cold because they don't bother with heating (or its broken) and sitting near the doorway meant we frequently got a face-full of cold air and our food became cold before we finished it. I don't know if their other food is better, but I definitely don't recommend their mapo tofu dish or their sweet and sour dishes. The only good thing about our meal was that they were served very quickly.

Arrived at the restaurant at about 4pm, looking for a quick meal with 4 of us, was given a table and told it would be a 10 min wait. After 15 mins, went up to the desk to be told to sit down as the table who was in before us had to order first and the staff were all still on break (all of them bar one) so no one to cook. We waited another 5 mins and finally got called up, the guy was very snippy and short with us, although we were perfectly polite. He shouted at another table to sit down when they came up to order. Such a strange system to stay open but not serve (and no crackers or drinks or anything) when everyone goes on break at once! Food was ok, nothing special if Im honest. It wasn’t bad, but think the wait and grumpy server put me off. Char Sui steamed buns were like no pork I’d had before - yellow mixture inside with a lot of sweetcorn? Chips were great, lovely and fresh and crispy.

Affordable noodles and a variety of chinese and other Asian fusion dishes

This was my first visit .amazing food and prices are good

For the restaurant it wants to be it is pretty good. There are so many different meals to order and everything happens really fast. It is definitely not a restaurant for a long stay but if you want to eat a fast but tasty meal it is perfect. As soon as we entered we kind of felt the rush but it was fun. We had sweet and sour chicken and kung po duck with one portion of noodles. It was a good size for us both. We also had fried chicken dumplings which also tasted good but we never had dumplings before so we can't compare. The prices are pretty cheap that's also good. All in all it is a fine snack bar.

Good casual Chinese eatery with affordable prices and generous portions. My partner and I ordered the king pao duck, the beef flank noodles, and dumpling potstickers to share. The dumplings were our favourite - the outside was crispy and the inside was filled generously and very juicy. The beef flank noodles were a little bland - both the broth and the meat could do with some deeper flavours. The kung pao duck was good and there was plenty of sauce to go with it!
