Duke's Corner in Dundee City

Service is pretty Scottish... They won3run to you even if they are not serving any clients. However staff is nice and polite. What I love the most is the heaters, and you won't freeze in this place. Be ready to sweat, specially if you dance. Love the dance floor and stage. If you drive, they have this outstanding German non-alcoholic beer! Absolutely marvellous.

A good night out in Dundee. A nice spot for craft beer and a chilled out crowd.

We had a social dance event and the space was perfect, the staff were very nice and friendly.

Food was good but service was a little lacking. It was very quiet and lots of staff on but too busy standing chatting to each other.

Amount of chips seemed random, one person got a full tray, two of us only got half each. Otherwise good food, service and beer.

Great pub with a massive beer selection. Tends to be pretty busy (which is a good sign). They do food, although not sure what time the kitchen closes. Really nice outdoor seating area. It’s also just round the corner from a Tesco express if you need cigarettes/cash etc.

Great friendly service and very tasty food! Prices are a bit on the higher side for a pub but the food was fresh and good quality and there was a big choice of drinks.

We came and watched the six nations, Sexton's final match for Ireland! 🇮🇪 It was a really nice atmosphere and the staff were fun and friendly. We were led to believe by the dundee market manny that they had Cairn o' Mohr cider on tap..sadly they only have bottles. It's still good, though. The food menu is a bit 'meh'. Despite hungry tums, we were not persuaded by the usual fried food fare. 😑 It's costly and would no doubt leave us feeling uncomfortably dissatisfied.

We came in for cocktails, great bar, decent prices and lovely staff!

Four of us went here for lunch. I shall start by saying the staff here are great and that's why they only dropped two stars. The burgers are twice the price of a gormet burger in wethespoons and your pint isn't included. This wouldn't usually bother me but the venue was bloody freezing. The staff brought us a heater but the place is to big to notice the warm air from a little heater. This meant if you didn't eat your burger in record time, it goes stone cold. It's probably a good place to see live music but be sure the band is popular, so you can huddle together with the audience like penguins to keep warm.

Very nice pub has a quite the array of different ales and spirits. Staff very friendly and quite talkative. Food nice not a huge selection but still nice.

Came in for tea tonight and we got two vegan options. I am probably the least fussy eater on the planet, I eat anything that’s put in front of me, and I couldn’t eat the vegan hot dog at all I think it’s probably the worst thing I’ve ever eaten. I asked for a refund as I hadn’t eaten it but they said they couldn’t. My friend got the jackfruit nachos, the jackfruit wasn’t in any kind of sauce.. just served bare on top of the nachos which was a first... i don’t really know why you would serve jackfruit without any kind of sauce on it especially on nachos.. the waiting staff were super nice and polite about it all, and did offer complimentary cocktails but unfortunately we weren’t drinking, Had to go else where and pay for another dinner after

Wow beer prices more expensive than Edinburgh - same quality - the close proximity to the university must make them think they have more suckers than they think - service poor and menu offers overpriced food (given the menu) - plenty of better and more reasonable options in the Hawkhill - nope...don't go

Even if it had to be outside in the beer garden, it was lovely to sit and have a drink here. All Covid restrictions adhered to. Staff were very efficient and friendly. Found us another table covered when it started to rain. Food very good and would definitely return. A lovely experience

El pub estaba inicialmente bastante tranquilo y disfrutamos de algunas bebidas y algo de comida, pero a medida que avanzaba la noche, el pub se estaba volviendo más y más concurrido. A primera hora de la tarde había mesas de 6 a 8 estudiantes que claramente infringían la regla de los 2 hogares. Varios ya estaban muy borrachos y sin máscaras cuando se movían por la barra. Conocí a un grupo de 3 chicas bailando y cantando mientras subían a los baños sin importar el distanciamiento social o el uso de máscaras. Decidimos irnos porque se sentía abarrotado, incómodo e inseguro. Nadie quiere ser un aguafiestas pero, al mismo tiempo, estamos en medio de una pandemia mundial y es necesario que se vea que las empresas apoyan las directrices del gobierno y no creo que este lugar fuera el sábado por la noche. Teniendo en cuenta que se supone que los estudiantes en los pasillos cercanos se aíslan por sí mismos, habría asumido que este bar habría estado tomando códigos postales, como otros, para evitar que los estudiantes vinieran al pub. Les deseo lo mejor, pero no creo que vuelva. Espero que su actitud relajada no resulte en otro aumento en los casos.

Great friendly pub. We have a meal outside. Food was good and enjoyable. Dogs are also welcomed, the staff provided bowls of water for the dogs. Great place to eat

Our server went above and beyond for me and my friends during our visit I believe her name was Emma. She was very attentive despite it being very busy and provided amazing service.

We stopped in for lunch on a very rainy day. The menu is good, different from the usual and great wines and beer. There is a beer garden as well for nicer weather.

Went in here on Saturday night for a drink, were told by various people the place was really dog friendly. Ordered a drink, my husband went to the loo, when he came back our dogs greeted him as they do. Then, the manager of the bar came over and told us to drink up and leave as our dogs were scaring everyone! Find it a bit strange as every customer that came in, came over to them first. Clearly not dog friendly if your dog makes a bit of noise and you're told to get out. Left a bad taste in what had otherwise been a good night out in Dundee.

My daughter and I went here for lunch on 13.12.19. Before we ordered someone advised us that a very large party had just ordered and there was likely to be about a half hour wait for food. We weren't in any hurry, so got a drink and ordered our food. It came within the half hour and was worth the wait! While it was a Friday and we therefore couldn't take advantage of the Mon-Thurs lunch offer (which is very reasonable) the food was delicious, piping hot and worth what we paid. Our waiter Andrew was very attentive but not overly so, and no hassle in getting someone's attention when it's time to pay (a real bugbear of mine).

I have been a regular visitor to Dukes Corner for many years. From what I've experienced, everything about the place has been somewhat positive.

I wrote a complaint about the treatment I have experienced from the door staff who are aggressive and intimidating which when I made a verbal complaint I was completely ignored the bar staff on the night and when I sent a follow up message via facebook detailing how I had been made to feel was seen and completely ignored. I feel this was most likely because they are aware the company they use for security regularly breaks the law. I would give this venue a definitely miss. Unethical business not worth your time. There are much superior venues in Dundee which offer great service.

I had a lovely meal at dukes corner, the food was excellent and the service was spot on. We had a lovely waitress called Emma who was very welcoming and helpful.

A really down to earth place to eat with a great selection of food, especially some tasty veggie and vegan options. The waitress Lauren was really sweet, and the atmosphere was so homely and warm for a cold afternoon.

Visité aquí el viernes y tuve una comida fabulosa. El lugar estaba ocupado y el fútbol jugaba pero aún podíamos conversar. Odio no poder escuchar a la persona con la que estás porque es muy ruidoso. Erin estaba fuera de camarera y era encantadora. Recordé el orden de las bebidas y conversamos con nosotros. La comida estuvo buena. Aunque creo que la hamburguesa podría haber sido más grande por el precio que pagamos, tuve el chili dog y no tengo quejas. Definitivamente regresaría?

We needed a local bar near to Hampton Hilton as it was raining. The place was full and we were fortunate to find a table. Most of the customers were under 25 and we felt like we were in the Student Union again. We had burgers (they specialise in burgers) that were very tasty and there was a large number of beers on draught to choose from. All in all, it was a good meal and good value.

Yesterday I had the evening off work, and so decided to have dinner at Duke’s Corner due to it being within in the same vicinity as my work.

Really good service from Lucinda. Food was great and very quick, would recommend their lunch deal great value for money!

Love this bar/restaurant. Lots of character, good atmosphere. It is was busy but served quickly good music we will definitely look forward to going back.

Visited with family for dinner. Couldnt believe we paid almost £60 for burgers, chips , piece of chicken and hot dog. This was with one soft drink, couple of tap waters and a half pint beer! They charged £1.50 to put a slice of cheese on the burger! Not be back.

Waren hier um Bier zu trinken und eine Kleinigkeit zu essen. Das Essen war sehr gut und preislich ok. Große Auswahl an lokalen und internationalen Bieren. Zuvorkeommende Bedienung durch Andrew! Die Rechung für uns vier zu teilen war kein Problem! Beim nächsten Besuch schaue ich gerne wieder vorbei!

While staying at a nearby hotel I came here 3 times, 1st was just for a drink, 2nd and 4rd time was for dinner. Each to me I have found the staff to be friendly and we'll versed on the craft beers and ciders they are serving and the food has been lovely. It's a beautiful building and a very comfortable place to sit and relax

I've not been to Duke's Corner for around 5 years. I enjoyed myself there the last time so thought I'd return, this time with my wife and my parents.

Just had a lovely lunch, couldn't fault the food or service. Vicky was very friendly and service was quick and done with a smile 😊 will definitely be back to try more of the vegetarian /vegan choices..

Me my husband went out to enjoyt the Almost Blue festival. We ordered the vegetarian haggis burger and the vegan cheese for me. Was a change from the usual veggie burgers and was absolutely delicious! Also our waitress Emma Q was very friendly and cheery despite the hustle and bustle of the very busy pub.

This is a great pub. It has an extensive beer selection, excellent burgers, nice atmosphere, and great service. In particular, Molly was a helpful, friendly and efficient waitress. It is located in the center of Dundee.

Dukes bar is a real ale tap bar and food bar, with pub food and background music on.

Wonderful service from Andrew today, we realised a bit too late that the starters were much bigger than we thought and had to cancel our mains however he dealt with our request like it was no issue. Portions were huge and everything was great, thanks again Andrew!

If you're a beer drinker this is your place. Different seating ares offering a more casual or intimate experience. Ambient music is there but not too intrusive...

Vine aquí con mis amigos y fue muy agradable. Alineamos nuestros estómagos por un largo día de bebida con excelentes hamburguesas y perros calientes. Pero para mí lo más destacado fueron las papas Jalepeno. Eran tan agradables, y también tenían una sorprendente cantidad de patadas.

I'd known this venue for traditional gourmet burgers and triple-cheesy fries, but I was pleasantly surprised by the vegan options available. Given the choice of falafel, spinach and red onion or spiced lentil, carrot and oat, I took the latter, having had plenty of falafel-based burgers elsewhere. The flavour of the patty itself was fairly mild, but the texture was very satisfying in the mouth and filling in the stomach, and the relish and dill pickle made up the taste. Add perfectly crisp fries, a clearly fresh and varied side salad, and a pint of Cairn O'Mohr Pictish cider, and it made for a thoroughly satisfying meal indeed. On top of this, the staff were polite and courteous, and I was served relatively quickly given how busy it was for a Saturday evening. Do recommend.

Mis amigos y yo fuimos al concurso de pub de Disney. Fuimos temprano a comer de antemano, comí la hamburguesa de pollo Cajun, estaba bien, pero no era lo suficientemente cajun para mí. Los aros de cebolla eran tan buenos también! Buena relación calidad-precio y el servicio fue muy rápido. Gran cuestionario también!

Hace 8 años fui a una cita aquí con mi pareja actual. Teníamos hamburguesas de halloumi y unas cuantas cervezas. Subí al bar para pagar la cuenta y luego nos fuimos. En el camino a casa descubrimos que TAMOS habíamos subido y pagado. Volvimos a hablar con ellos. Lo que siguió fue muy incómodo. Explicamos que ambos pagamos el cheque sano. Explicaron que no es posible. Dije que tal vez pagamos por otra mesa y usted dio otra factura. Fueron incrédulos y consiguieron al gerente. Nos sentó y nos explicó que estábamos claramente mintiendo. A lo que me puse muy molesto. Le dije que revisara las tarjetas pero no lo hizo. También dio a entender que hicimos esta 'estafa' mucho. Hago hincapié en que nuestra factura era tal vez de 25 libras como máximo y no era una estafa. Después de que se le hiciera sentir como delincuentes, dio un vales de 10 libras, pero dejó en claro que pensaba que éramos delincuentes. Nos fuimos sintiéndonos realmente molestos. 8 años más tarde volví por dundee (ahora vivimos en Edimburgo) y este triste recuerdo me regresó. ¡Tenga cuidado de pagar su factura correcta y no de otra persona! Pagamos por un error del bar y luego nos dejaron humillados.

Hailed as a craft beer destination in Dundee, but to be honest many of the beers on tap are pretty mainstream, and if you're looking for anything different you may be disappointed. It's a large space with poor acoustics and although it wasn't busy when I visited it still felt noisy and the experience was pretty impersonal.
