As a chef I can be a little fussy but the drovers arms in Rhewl stands out for all the right reasons. I took my mother there for Sunday lunch and the food was amazing. The turkey was so moist and the beef was ultra tender. Generous portions and seven different types of veg came with the meal. I asked for a Yorkshire with my turkey and want charged extra. The waiting on staff were not just friendly but knowledgeable about the dishes. They were attentive and when the customary two minutes check came to ask how was everything out waitress had noticed before hand we had run of cranberry sauce so just replaced it at the same time without us asking. It's those touches that made us feel valued and wanted. We had two drinks, two roasts, extra cauliflower cheese and deserts and it came to under £45. I also looked at the main menu and saw most prices were about £15 per main so not sure where the figure comes from that prices range from £20 to £30 on google. Amazing value and definitely will be going again.

We had a late lunch which is nice as most places are rushing you out as they want to close at 2pm, the food was fabulous, homemade chips plenty of good sized scampi and were very accommodating with my food allergies which is such a relief. The cheese cake was amazing can't recommend it enough it was also homemade. Te atmosphere was lovely and welcoming too and a lovely warm fire. All in all a fab place to go.

Fast service, staff very tentative, lovely atmosphere with a lovely stoked fire for the cold day. Had beef lasagne and a side of chips, very tasty.

Sunday lunch won’t be rushing back, 2 paltry side dishes of vegbetween 5 adults with no option of extra gravy and exorbitant that you have too pay £2.95 for cauliflower cheese I have never had too order it as a extra roasties could have done with a extra 20 mins in oven and parsnips were limpid and pale should have complained but staff were run ragged and had waited long enough to be served

A warm welcome into a lovely toasty pub. You can't beat a real fire on a cold November night. The mixed grill is above and beyond!! Highly recommended 🩵

We had our anniversary meal at the Drovers and from the second we walked in the door the experience was amazing. We were welcomed by a lovely lady who had read my note asking for a quiet table. The service was wonderful. We had starters, mains, desserts and coffee. The food was so delicious. Although I'm not a vegetarian I went for the veggie options. Deep fried halloumi with a chilli jam. Lovely. The dish it sat on could have been a bit bigger as you do get good portions. I followed with a veggie curry made with seasonal veg. So delicious and then don't ask me how I had room but I had a banana split for dessert and coffee. My husband had the whitebait for starter. I'm not a fish fan but he loved it. Then he had a beef and veg pie filled with lots of tasty beef. He had dessert but I was so busy eating my own I couldn't tell you what he had. The service, the food, the ambience were amazing. To top it off the bill only came to £68. We had beer in that too. I highly recommend the Drovers.. We will definitely be going back. I would suggest booking in advance as it is so good you might not get a table otherwise. My compliments to the chef and all the staff for making our evening perfect.

The main meals for my husband and I included chips which were not eatable as they were overcooked . My steak was half grizzle(not a very good piece of meat considering it was suppose to be sirloin and £23 in price) our starters were ok but overall very dissappointed !!!!

Grabbed a Sunday lunch here today and it was the best roast dinner we've had out in ages. Staff are great, booked online which was quick and easy and was great value for money. Kids love it here and it's one of our favourite pubs in the area.

I went there 3 years ago, the food was beyond what I was expecting. The people in there were a good and had a sense of humour. Im aiming to come back in the next few years after another travel around wales

On Sunday 9th Myself & my Family came for a Sunday roast meal, the main meal was barely hot &we all didn't enjoy it & the Yorkshire pudding was not done properly. But in the past the meals there were fantastic. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Also the staff should ask if anyone who has allergies. There were 7 Adults & 5 children.

Best Sunday dinner I've had in a long time only one let down no disabled toilet but the staff where very helpful let me take my wife to the ladies in a wheelchair and didn't let anyone in

We had a fantastic meal for four in a little private room opposite the bar. The owner and staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was great and plenty of it , I also recommend the stout over Guinness. I wholeheartedly recommend this place but make sure you book in advance as it is busy.

Such A lovely place & very reasonably priced. Great country pub with super friendly staff and it is dog friendly. Can get quite busy so recommend booking. There is a wonderful walk just opposite along the Clywedog via Lady Bagot's Drive.

Excellent Sunday lunch. Best place locally for the price. On course is £13.95 and two for £16.95. We both had a two course meal. I had the roast beef, lots of meat, lots of nice veg. My partner had the lamb and again nice big portions. Nice cheese cake for dessert. Only thing we didn't like was the cauliflower cheers. It was like sloppy cheese. The cauliflower was over cooked and non existance.

Terrible experience, let down when booked and was told they had overbooked so no Sunday lunch after being sat down for 20mins .Choose off main menu and food horrendous

We stumbled across the Drovers Arms whilst driving home from a weekend in Wales and even though we hadn’t booked they managed to squeeze us in, and we were so glad they did! The staff were so genuinely warm & welcoming and chatty, and the Sunday lunch (we had a lamb & a pork) was fabulous! Definitely worth a stop if you are passing!

Called to the Drovers for a family meal, what can I say Superb Service and great range of food. Customer care is paramount at the Drovers with nothing to much trouble this means a lot nowadays. The lamb burgers are simply amazing and the rump steak was cooked to perfection. I was amazed to see a negetive comment from an unknown customer as our visit was perfect. Menu promised a lot BUT when the food eventually got brought out it was absolutely terrible. Imagine something you cook with your mates whilst in uni accommodation…this is worse.

What a lovely place, polite and caring staff. Food was delicious. There was 4 adults and 1 child. We asked for the child's food to come with our starters and it did. We sat outside in the evenings sun. Would highly recommended the Drovers.

Great food in a friendly pub/restaurant. The starter of pigs in blankets is nothing like the supermarket ones you get at Christmas - they were substantial small butchers sausages and bacon and there were five of them! The rump steak was cooked perfectly and was lovely and tender and juicy. Wish I’d had room for a dessert! Wish I lived locally so I could go back.

Must do Sunday pub lunch! Not only is it great value - 3 courses for £16.95, and the food was lovely - but the best and friendliest service I have had in a very long time. Plenty of undercover seating and the heaters were very much appreciated!
