I visited today for lunch with my friend, I can't eat gluten and asked if they did anything I could eat - they didn't, but it's not the end of the world - I wasn't so hungry. We ordered coffee and sat down, my friend looked over the food menu while I got out my iPad, planning to work while she ate lunch. We were then told off as if we were naughty children with a lecture, that I couldn't work on my laptop unless I ordered food... Well I can't order food! We finished our coffees (which were nice - hence the two stars) and left for elsewhere. Also, they don't do free tap water. Not a great impression!

I ordered a chocolate chip cookies with pistachio , brownie, latte and cappuccino. The sweet was very tasty, the atmosphere was superb but i did not like the coffee I am more to blonde roasted coffee beans for the real taste of coffee.

Booked for afternoon tea here - it was absolutely delicious. The sandwiches and patisserie were all so beautiful and tasted delicious too!!! I would really recommend!

Exquisite Christmas Afternoon Tea experience! Could not fault. I have never seen or tasted such perfectly crafted individual Christmas themed cakes. I have eaten at The Ritz, The Savoy, The Ritz Dubai and numerous different places around the world and they do not measure up. Dreamworks is in a class of its own.

Visited Dreamworld Cakes today and had a wonderful experience. I don’t know when I have ever eaten such beautiful works of art. Their attention to detail is flawless. We each received four beautifully crafted, fresh, flavoursome cakes, a freshly baked cheese scone and a pillow of joy (plain scone) accompanied by clotted cream and jam. Their savoury offerings were equally perfect, three finger sandwiches each and a blini. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Along with this offering there are freshly made sandwiches, biscuits, sweets etc to take away. 11/10

I have never left a review but I felt these needed one, I struggle eating out due to dietary requirements, the server noticed this and made me an option off menu to meet my needs - never had that before, so grateful! Food was lovely too :)

What a lovely experience! One of the best afternoon teas I have had, the sweet treats were so tasty and gorgeous scones! We all loved the coffee- so smooth and delicious. Bernadett (owner) was fabulous, she catered to our needs and was so kind! The patisserie is cute and cosy, definitely a spot to go to! I bought afternoon tea vouchers as a gift for my Mum for Mother’s Day in March. I tried to book in April via email in April but the cafe was closed for two weeks because of their holiday. I suggested another date and after chasing a response was asked to call instead of email. For various reasons I didn’t get around to calling and completely forgot about the voucher. Fast forward to November and I remembered that we still had the afternoon tea vouchers. I’d always assumed it would have a year expiry date, which is pretty standard, but when I looked at the voucher it only had six months. I had hoped Dreamworld Cakes would honour the voucher or would allow me to extend for a fee but I couldn’t have been more wrong Bernadett messaged to advise that they were not prepared to extend. Which is their legal right, but rankled as I’d bought a voucher, in part to support a local business, but their opening hours and two periods of closure, coupled with my assumption that it was a 12 month voucher had blocked me from using. I messaged and relayed my disappointment at their lack of flexibility and was told by the proprietor that I was “rude” and with a sarcastic closing “I’m sorry if that didn’t satisfy you. Wishing you all the best!”

I was incensed that the proprietor had benefited from my paying for a voucher without having benefited from a service from them and then had the audacity to call me rude for asking them to do what I considered the right thing so felt I had to respond with “I’ve given you the opportunity to do the right thing and instead you’ve chosen a) not to and b) make the situation so much worse with your response. Hardly great customer service!!

 It’s their policy and legal right on the vouchers, but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Lucky for them I see that on the back of a bad review and with a previous average of a handful of reviews a year, that a number of ‘customers’ new to Trip Advisor have waxed lyrical about the place the very next days.

My voucher expired at the end of August so 5 weeks didn’t help. I sent the following: Ok. Really disappointed with this and definitely a lesson learned. I wont be coming to your cafe again and I will also advise others to avoid purchasing vouchers from you. Enjoy the £37 donation I’ve made to your business. I then received the following response: I think your email is a little bit rude but I hope it made you feel better! I don’t think it needs to speak to another person or business with this manner under any circumstances! We extended your voucher with an extra 5 weeks, I’m sorry if that didn’t satisfy you. Wishing you all the best! Not very professional, so I responded: I don’t agree that my email is rude at all and it certainly didn’t make me feel “better” since I’m still £37 out of pocket. What’s astounding is that you think as a small business the response is appropriate. We’ve paid for a service that we haven’t got and I’m perfectly entitled to relay my frustration without being called rude. I’ve given you the opportunity to do the right thing and instead you’ve chosen a) not to and b) make the situation so much worse with your response. Hardly great customer service!! Wishing you all the best too! To which I received yet another response: I offered you 5 weeks extension!! I don’t see what else you want me to do..? Basically you don’t get what you want so you are just calling me “bad customer service”! So I should just sit here listening everything you have to say to me and just silently agree in the name of “ I’m a business”. I’m not allowed to be offended by your respond despite I was kind enough to give you more time to use your voucher! Unbelievable 🤦🏼‍♀️ The upshot is that you should not purchase vouchers from Dreamworld Cakes. They only last six months, there is no extension, they are only open a few days a week and they have large periods of being closed. Also ,as highlighted in the above messages, their customer service needs some work!

When my daughter told me she had bought a voucher from Dreamworld Cakes to go for afternoon tea, I was thrilled. It was a Mother's Day gift. Unfortunately, for a variety of reasons, which included ill health and the business being closed for several weeks, we were unable to go immediately. Imagine my surprise and disappointment when my daughter told me that the voucher was no longer valid and that no amount of persuasion on her part could get the owner to change her mind. The fact that a 5 week closure contributed to the delay had apparently been taken into account and had been added to the cut off date. I was extremely disappointed but also amazed that a small business dependent on customer's good will could be so inflexible. There was no offer to refund money or even to request more to cover the delay. Instead they pocketed my daughter's money and she and I ended up with nothing, just a nasty taste in our mouths.

Imagine my disappointment when my daughter told me the voucher was no longer valid and in spite of numerous emails to the owner asking her to reconsider, we wouldn't be going. Really disappointed and amazed that a small business dependent on the good will of its customers could be so rigid in their decisions. Still, suppose they win. They've got the money and my daughter and I get nothing!

Dreamworld in Newcastle is a hidden gem- incredible desserts and serving the best Pumpkin Spice lattes in the city. With my niece turning sweet 16, I've ordered a cake from there, and I'm eagerly anticipating its arrival. What surprised me is that the owner was a contestant on one of the famous British series and remains incredibly humble. Even a builder who visited my place couldn't stop praising the desserts, acknowledging them as the best. It's definitely a must-try, with a delightful atmosphere, dog friendly and a team of friendly and professional staff. Can't wait to come round for a Christmas afternoon tea with my sister. The new season editions I saw being served the other day looked amazing.

My friend and I attended as a treat, we are keen to try afternoon tea from different places and this was by far the best we have tried. The detail and beauty of the cakes included were phenomenal. It was the Christmas afternoon tea and it was delicious. The presentation and flavours were clearly well thought out and planned and attention to detail was out of this world. The venue is small but cosy and the staff were so welcoming, attentive and kind. In comparison to other afternoon tea the value for money is also incredible. We have often paid a higher price and been left disappointed. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend.

Absolutely love this place. The plants and lamps are so lovely. The staff are very nice as well. We ordered a gluten-free cake and pistachio tart. They both are so good. Not too sweet and the prices are reasonable. I also ordered a ham and chess croissant. It’s so soft! I had a very enjoyable time at this pastry place. Unfortunately, I wanted to book a birthday cake in advance and called them for two days and they didn’t pick up. And their website says they don’t do delivery as well. I suppose you have to order it at the shop.

Incredible afternoon tea, one of the best I've ever had. Great selection of the most beautiful cakes. The little profitrole-looking cake with the caramel custard was just to die for. Very reasonably priced, excellent service. They do sell the absolute best cakes and cruffins around.

This was our first visit to Dreamworld cakes and certainly won't be our last. We had afternoon tea which was a gift. The scones were light and delicious. Dreamworld cakes is a very fitting name for this cafe. The cakes were outstanding. Not only did they look beautiful they also tasted amazing. I have been to many places for afternoon tea ,including 5 star hotels and I can honestly say these were the best cakes I have ever had. It was lovely to have something a little different too such as rose and raspberry cake. My husband who does not have a sweet tooth was won over and thought it was wonderful. Thank you. We will be back.

The afternoon tea I had was hugely overpriced for what we got. Cucumber sandwich, ham sandwich and cheese sandwich with sweet chilli inside. Although the cakes looked nice, they were of little substance. They staff were pleasant. The most basic of sandwiches does not warrant the price tag of over forty pounds. I'm afraid I would not recommend this place to anyone. My daughter took me for a treat, I was not at all happy at how much they charged. A total disgraceful rip off...

Booked an afternoon tea here with my Mum for my birthday. I had been once before and loved it (had a filled savoury croissant and some patisserie) and knew I wanted to go back to try the afternoon tea. We were offered their Christmas afternoon tea when I booked; and it was a delight! Very talented pastry chefs run this patisserie. Their delicate little pastries looked too good to eat (especially the pink swan!), and the flavours were fabulous. The Christmas pudding "surprise" was really fun...definitely put a smile on our faces! Lovely service with a relaxed cosy atmosphere. We will both definitely be back! Thanks to Dreamworld Cakes! Visited for an afternoon tea and had a great time. In some places, gluten free options can be a bit sad. At Dreamworld, the gluten free option was amazing, with a substitution for all the gluten containing options. The food was delicious, with beautiful presentation - portions were generous as well, left absolutely stuffed! Would highly recommend, even just for stopping by to pick up a patisserie!

Awesome little patisserie in the heart of the Ouseburn area which is becoming more and more of a happening area. Opted for a flat white with an amazing chocolate éclair and a cappuccino with a pain au chocolat. It has seating inside and out or you can get items to take away and they box the pastries for you. Unfortunately there wasn't a great deal of selection there when we went, but what we had were spot on. Had been meaning to go here for aaaages - will definitely be back.

We had a celebration cake for my Mum's 80th from Dreamworld, prepared by Bernadett. It looked and tasted fantastic. Brilliant service from them in arranging for the cake and agreeing the decorations. No hesitation at all in recommending Dreamworld.

A unique and cosy atmosphere and probably the best afternoon tea I've had, absolutely delicious. Just the right amount as well, feeling quite full and satisfied afterwards without too much waste. You can buy the cakes and patisserie from counter display. Very popular as customers kept coming in and the display kept getting restocked.

Didnt sit in but the desserts were incredible and the staff were really kind and attentive. Worth it just to eat some fancy desserts that look like something out a movie. Had raspberry tiramisu, berry cheesecake, chocolate swirls.

The cafe is very quaint and cosy but better suited to small groups. The quality of the deserts were absolutely phenomenal and the place smelled divine. The service however what a little lacking.

Not suitable for groups larger than 3 in my opinion but perfect for couples and small groups stopping for a quick bite. Pre orders only. Offensive staff when they don't explain this prior to you attempting to order. They must think that the human race has developed a mind reading ability. I am all for supporting small businesses especially at this time however I'll never spend money here.

Today was our first time to visit Dreamworld cakes. Just like the photos on their website; the cakes look really beautiful in real life and they tasted incredible too! They just reminded me of cakes from Hungary and Vienna - beautiful and delicious! We are so happy to find this place not far from us and will be going back again because eating their cakes just felt like we are on holiday and I can’t stop smiling now that I’ve had it! Popped in as I was in the area taking some photographs, they had just opened around 11am, so ok thought a coffee n cake was in order. I had a difficult decision choosing a cake as they all looked good, but opted for the Snickers cake as Chocolate + caramel is always a winner. The cake was simply scrumptious, and each bite was to savour, the coffee wasn't so great tbh. But a nice little venue where you can sit inside also in a cool area.

After watching GBBO The Professionals we popped along to try the cakes. We were so impressed and wish we had discovered this place earlier. They looked amazing and tasted even better. The Paris Brest was too die for! Will certainly be back next week for more.

No puedo recomendar este lugar lo suficiente. Los pasteles son ridículamente deliciosos, el menú cambia cada semana para que no tengas tiempo para aburrirte, el ambiente es agradable, la decoración es hermosa y Bernadett es uno de los dueños más amables que he conocido. Ella realmente se preocupa por los clientes, realmente amable y siempre para reírse. Muy recomendable para todos los amantes de la pastelería francesa.

Bernadett made us the most amazing and tasty wedding cake. Semi naked cake with each tier a different chocolate flavour. The cake was soft and delicious. Bernadett was lovely to work with. So friendly and welcoming. We would highly recommend Dreamworld Cakes.

Dreamworld Cakes Patisserie make cakes that are so lovely my friends and I pause to enjoy their beauty for sometime before eating. It's often worth cutting them carefully to appreciate meticulous layering inside the smooth exterior. They also taste wonderful, of course. It's also a friendly place, and Ouseburn is fortunate to have such a lovely, proper patisserie located there. I'm looking forward to having an afternoon tea there sometime. I've had a really delicious takeaway lunch from there too.

I have been here a number of times and will go again because the cakes are quite simply the best in Newcastle, and I suspect for anywhere within an hour travelling by car. The place is small. I may be making a mistake in recommending it as perhaps I should keep it a secret, but these guys deserve attention, and success.

Quality hand made, delicious produce. Expensive but worth the trip!
