Not the best Chinese I’ve been to and I move about all but I never go back here they mess up the order and not say but I could hear the lot and the food was over cooked I get better out the supper market as for the rating even one is over board for poor food and poor service

Awful meal last night be wanting either money back or a free better meal. Was tasteless watery. Chicken tastes like just come out of a tin.

The Girl on service (clueless, not very friendly & definitely dosnt listen... Food was wrong & disgusting. Shame its the only Chinese around & definitely need help with there cooking skills... So disappointed 0 stars from me....

The food mostly tasted of vinegar wasn't good at all, most of it went in the bin very disappointed ☹️

Spent £25 on a couple of dishes plus rice. It was £25 wasted. The food looked like it had been put into their plastic boxes then frozen. Just to be defrosted when ordered. The mushrooms and beef looked like they should be on antiques roadshow. Do not waste your money.

Good food can be expensive really good service.

We Ordered Spare Ribs, Sweet & Sour King Prawn balls, spring rolls and a special curry with fried rice. The food was disgusting and tasteless. Threw most of the food, bloody waste of money! Will not be returning.

Ordered beef and mushroom curry without paes and onions. Got beef and mushrooms in gravy with Mange Tout. Ordered Special fried rice. Got special chow mein so 2 dish's completely wrong. They were nice but definitely not what we requested. I could not have been clearer with these as I even asked if they do special fried rice and explained that I did not want peas or onions Quite expensive for a takeaway so not impressed at all

We ordered a mixed veg curry and a chicken curry plus rice, the veg curry was nice but the chicken curry was way too salty and didn't enjoy.

Wish I never bothered spent over£40 for a pile of crap absolutely shocking tried calling to complain and no answer rather eat dinner out of a bin

Guy on front desk was rude and extremely unhelp. Food was average at best.

I was hesitant to use this Chinese takeaway due to the appearance from the outside. When I got inside I was even less enamoured! Playing safe I ordered a rice dish, fried rice, chips, curry sauce and beansprouts. This cost me £15! I drove back to my campsite 10 mins away to my eager family only to to find they had given me the wrong order. I phoned them up to tell them they had messed up the order. The girl on the phone told me, “usually people just bring them back and we swap them!” I told her that wasn’t an option for me, so she said she would phone me back soon. No call received! Luckily there was some rice and chips for at least the kids to eat. There was a watery beef curry and some super deep fried brown chicken balls. One mouthful of each was too much for me! The next day I phoned back to remind them and they told me it was no problem to come back and get the repeat order today or tomorrow. I said I’d pop in tomorrow then! The next day I went in to collect and the owner told me, “that doesn’t work for him!” 🤔 He correctly informed me it had been 3 days AND I’d eaten the chips! 🙄 He said I could have a single dish of my choice. I retorted with, “that doesn’t work for me!” After much debate over food quality and customer service levels he threatened me with all my money back - which I accepted 🤑 and went down the road and bought a really good pizza! It’s the only Chinese Takeaway in Newquay, and my thoughts are with the residents for having to put up with this absolute🐴💩 I would also query the validity of some of these reviews #justsaying

Takeaway for 4 rainy Saturday evening. They seemed very busy which is good. The waiting area is a bit dated, but really that is irrelevant. The food we ordered was very acceptable. I was apprehensive after reading poor reviews. They were friendly, and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Didn't answer the phone after trying 18 times over half an hour on a Friday night, shame as it looks good but unable to place an order.

Been coming to New Quay for a few years. Have always said we should try the Chinese take away. All I can say is 1st and last time. The worst take away food we have ever had. Absolute garbage. Two mouthfulls and the rest went in the bin. Avoid like the plague. How they can actually charge money for the food they have served to us tonight is beyond belief. If we could give zero stars we would.

1 star? We visited last year and this place had a 1 star hygiene rating, this year there is no improvement. How can this be allowed?

Lad on till got order wrong. I ended up with a meat dish which is unusual as I'm a vegetarian. When I called up he didn't apologise just told me thats what I ordered. Then said to come back which I did. He replaced the meal with something half the size and still not what I asked for. Mixed vegetable rice should include vegetables right?! He told me the vegetables were underneath which they clearly weren't. Then he said, "that's how it comes". I couldn't be bothered to argue at this point. Genuinely not one to complain usually but I found him rude, incompetent and dishonest. Maybe he was just having a bad day but customer service needs improving. At least the food I eventually got was terrible. Didn't see the catastrophic food hygiene rating or wouldn't have ordered. AVOID FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY.

Placed a order tonight the lady re read the order back to us when collected stuff was missing we then phoned to be told it wasn’t ordered and would have to pay again we then went back to collect stuff and the wait was horrendous and food was awful taste would not recommend this place at all

Bang average. The basics were okay (noodles rice chips). Anything with chicken in it just tasted dodgy. Curry sauce was nice but watery. Also the bloke on the phone... rude

Ordered food and was ready for pickup in 20 minutes.Tasty hot food, never seen green curry sauce before , but it was delicious. Prawn toast had real prawns in it! Would recommend

Picked up a Chinese order last night. The shop was filthy. The special fried rice was just boiled rice with a bit of ham and a couple of peas in it. The chicken curry had 3 pieces of chicken and a handful.of peas in it. The prawn crackers were damp and soggy. Total waste of 23.00. Will never have from there again.

Not much to recommend really. If you’ve never eaten Chinese food before, this place would definitely put you off it! About the only half decent dishes are the rice dishes and the chicken curry, but even the curry is fairly insipid. I keep trying this...

What can I say 🤷 worse food ive ever tasted hubby had ribs in pekingese sauce no sauce just ribs an onion we had egg fried rice which was just boiled awful only gave it a 1 star because I had 2 leave review I would most defo not go there again the young lady that served was lovely and polite

Having read other reviews on this place we were sceptical about ordering a takeaway but in all honesty there was no need to be as we had stunning food. The Chicken in lemon sauce is so tasty the best I've ever had. Would definitely recommend

Ordered from here whilst on holiday. To be honest I think its the only one around. It took about 20 minutes to receive food after ordering. Food was reasonably priced and was generally ok. I have definitely had tastier chinese takeaways but I've also had a lot worse! Overall its worth a try but nothing special.

Have used Dragon Palace many times, and always happy. 4 meals ordered on 1/8/20, all really poor. Chicken with cashew nuts appalling. No flavour, and the chicken had texture of spam, nuts thrown on the top, not mixed in or hot. Sweet n sour chicken...

Just got a Chinese from dragon palace in new quay. Had three dishes all with rice and was literally choking from the amount of salt in the food! Don’t know if anyone else has found this true for them selves. After ringing back and informing...

We had a takeaway from here last night, we are staying on the Haven site. We ended up driving as we couldn't find a menu anywhere online to pre order but luckily we only had to wait 15 minutes. The sweet and sour chicken balls...

Food average nothing to write home about

Lovely Chinese take-away hidden away in New Quay. We phoned our order in and dropped by to pick it up later - a good idea as while you can park outside for a few minutes, there's nowhere much to hang around for any longer. Beef...

Ate from here twice during the week I stayed near here with my family. Tasty food overall with friendly staff to boot. It's worth noting that they don't deliver however it's fairly close to easy parking.

The positives: 4 star hygiene rating, friendly staff on the phone and on picking up and fast service. The negatives: it felt like there was an abundance of MSG in all dishes and a lack of flavour. Prawn crackers were a bit stale, barbecue ribs and chicken satay skewers were the better dishes. The chicken and cashew nuts was flavourless and so was the beef with peppers and black beans. Egg fried rice could have said hello to the fryer for longer for more flavour.

Food was very bad, beef curry was like a water based soup with no taste! Crispy beef so so burned it chipped my tooth. Absolutely shocking!

Had a takeaway from here for the first time in 5 years or so, absolutely great and comfortably say it’s the best in the area. Car parking is a bit of an issue outside though. Will return again and throughout winter.

Staying the week fancied a Sunday Chinese. Called up placed my order and it was ready at the time I requested. Lovely friendly girl serving added to the experience . Food was fine. Yes its not gourmet cuisine but its all good as a takeaway. Same as any other. No issues using again. Happy and full!

Have used this takeaway for nigh on 10 years whilst holidaying in New Quay. Food has been faultless in that time. Love the chillic garlic duck chow mien. Good loyalty scheme as well. Keep up the good wok.

Expensive but tasty and the only one in the area

My fiancée and I were holidaying in new quay for a week and wanted to have something easy for tea. We searched trip advisor and found this local Chinese takeaway. So pleased to went here, great meals and for the 2 of us we spend £20 and had lots of food. The foo yung was lovely and also the chow mein. If you are in the area then definitely stop here. Highly recommended

Really nice food best Chinese around

How are these people still in business? They have no clue, they are rude and arrogant. We are camping 10 mins away so placed my order....picked it up and drove back only to realise that 2 of our 4 meals had not been put in. I called and explained that I would need to drive back to pick up the missing meals so would they mind giving me a refund (it was another 20 min round trip to pick the meals up)?....they said that was ok. I arrived back at the takeaway- the meals were not ready (should I be surprised?). I asked that as it would now be 50-60 mins since I picked up the meal, if they would mind giving me some more rice and noodles to go with the remaining meal (mine would be cold of course). Yes, this was ok but...they had not cooked the 2 missing meals and refused point blank to as they had refunded me for them. I explained that the refund was due to having to drive 20 mins out of my way for their mistake and that I had been waiting for 20 mins whilst they cooked my 'mystical' meals. He now refused because of my 'bad attitude'. I was absolutely astounded at their treatment of customers...another 2 people came in with wrong orders whilst I was there ...and the meal we 'did' receive was not what we ordered - prawns in batter rather than prawn balls. If I were you I would give this place a very wide berth and if not, at least check your order before you leave!! One last point...I ended up driving over to the chinese in Aberaeron to salvage a meal and it was delicious!!

We are fairly local and our regular take-away was shut for a short period so we tried Dragon Palace. I was really hoping it would be OK as it is closer to us than our preferred restaurant but I was so disappointed. The service was Ok, but was a young girl who did not have a clue about the menu and the food itself was really poor.

Excellent chinese the best i have been to and i have been to alot. I never pick the set menu but on this occasion i picked the set meal for three hugh would be a massive understatement this would feed 4 or 5 people. For £33 you get 3 rices spare ribs, beef with mushroom, chicken in black bean sauce, egg foo young thing egg meat omallett plus a load more stuff we added a portion of chips and the owner gave us some prawn crackers. Be warned the portion sizes are large my meal for three could of fed 5 people. Really nice food cooked fresh to order. I will be back excellent value for money really nice owner.

Prawn crackers were stale, the chicken used in the sweet and sour chicken was brown, definitely not breast meat, also very salty, would not go back or recommend.

Decided to try this Chinese today as we are heading home tomorrow . Hav to say I do enjoy Chinese and get it nearly everywhere at least once when we travel . I cannot recommend this place after what I received . We got a satay chicken skewers starter and the sauce was nice but the chicken was shocking . We also got a chicken curry and chips and rice . To be fair the sauce was really nice but the chicken was rubbery and tough and there were more onions than bits of chicken . It is really hard to get chicken wrong but god did they get it so so wrong .And for this reason I would not recommend it at all .

We ate food from here and it was faultless..lots of love has gone into the making of this delicious Chinese food .. would definitely recommend .

Midweek, teatime visit to the takeaway. Friendly chap on the counter. Very efficient service and the food was plentiful and hot. I had the Pekinese-style ribs and my wife had the prawn satay with egg-friend rice. Portion size was just right. Waiting area probably in need of a lick of paint and reupholstering but otherwise very good!

As part of our short break to New Quay we decided not to cook. This was a good decision as we had 2 wonderful takeaways from Dragon Place. We can fully recommend Lemon Chicken, Salt and Pepper Chicken, Special Fried Rice and Cantonese King Prawn among some the dishes sampled.

Would we go back - yes. Making the most of the good weather, we were late off the beach so decided on takeaway. Mobile telephone signals in NEW QUAY can be an issue so attended in person. Food was ready in about 12-15 minutes. Food was for 3 adults and for about £32 good value. Beef with green peppers; chicken chow mein; special rice were some of the food ordered. I am sure that they deliver as there are a number of holiday caravan site within a few miles and it would be silly not to in the summer. Parking a little tricky as on a bend.

Worst Chinese meal I've had in a long long time. Was disappointed because instead of satay chicken skewers we got a dish - which had no taste of satay whatsoever. The Kung Po was tasteless, fried rice was boiled rice, spring rolls smelt of wet dog and the chicken was tough as old boots. Threw most of it in the bin - never going there again.
