Had a lovely meal, sizzling fillet steak lovely meat/ sauce excellent. Staff really nice food good.

Highly recommended this place to eat, staff extremely polite and courteous, food brilliant, we chose the Happy hr Menu, it was perfect

New owners with clearly a new approach. New inflated prices. New compulsory service charge. Smaller portions and new charges for containers to take food that you’ve already paid for away. Well for me I’m not going to be returning anytime soon and I’ll be letting all of my friends know too. You’re driving your loyal customers away. Good luck with all of that

We’ve always enjoyed visits to Dragon Palace as the food, service and prices were always great. Visited tonight and what the heck? Prices have shot up, clearly new owners (Who, by the way, are no where near as nice as the previous owners). I asked if I could pay extra for rice that wasn’t part of the set meal. Absolutely not I was told. Then I felt like I was being watched the rest of the time. Portion sizes were really small compared to previous visits. You have to pay for containers to take food you have paid for away and get this. 10% service charge which I’m told is compulsory. Well here’s the news. Never am I going to return and I’m telling all of my friends not to bother either. Good luck with retaining your customers with this kind of approach

Went here on the 18th of Jan. Wow what can I say half the portion u use to get . Got the set menu for 4 people Duck wasn't enough pancakes or even sauce let alone the duck it self . Mixed the order up . Had to ask for one to go back as it was different . Meat on sweet and sour think there was about 5 small amounts in it . Then got the bill asking for 10% service charge . And to top it all . We asked for the banana fritters to take away as baby was getting sleepy . To add extra money for the containers to take it home in . Never ever going there again . Not worth it . Such a rip off . You should be ashamed of your self .

We went for the happy hour menu. It was a very good value. We had the crispy duck delicious. There was plenty of food. The service was excellent, very friendly. I would definitely recommend I will be going again.

Unbelievable! Added a 10% Service Charge that we asked be removed and they said it was "compulsory since 1st November". They blatantly refused to remove it so I am charging back on my credit card. Disgusting place. AVOID!!!!!

regulars here twice each month and love it BUT whilst most staff the same and brilliant there has apparently been a change of ownership. I don't have an issue with the new 10% service charge BUT the prices have gone up unacceptably and to charge for containers when taking food home is outrageous. Will be cutting down our visits as its pricing itself out of reach

Excellent food. And very reasonable drink prices. Staff too over attentive, made us feel a little uncomfortable. Especially as their spoken english was a little lacking and was hard to communicate what we wanted.(a knife). Ordered starters. They came one at a time and mine was cold by the time we all got ours. But the food was delicious. Aparently they are going to start putting a service charge on the bill soon. So watch out for that.

We ordered Banquet A for 4 people and chose to add in an additional course of half duck. Staff were friendly and helpful, always asking if we were ready for the next course. This really helped us stage our evening meal perfectly. Food was delicious, so fresh and LOADS of it. We ended up taking quite a bit home with us and the staff packed this up for us. A lovely experience and I hope people opt to go out for a Chinese here instead of ordering a takeaway!

The set menu are fabulous great value for money me and my friend had the £15.90p the hot and sour soup to die for I could not believe how many starters we had the main meal I had to have a doggy box ,you will not be disappointed cheers 👍

Food was excellent, service first class had two young children with us. After the excellent meal they gave both children a pencil case for school, scooby do for oldest and Micky mouse for youngest. Will we be going back oh yes.

The nicest Chinese I tasted in a long time

First and last time ordering takeaway from here. £40 spent on food and the majority was not enjoyable. “Salt & pepper” chips and shredded chicken not good, soggy and just covered in fine pepper powder and the portion of seaweed was very oily. Disappointed.

We normally love it here but our last experience wasn’t great. We were a group of 8 and the starters were all brought out separately over a 20 minute period, so we didn’t eat at the same time. Also, the place was freezing cold this time and the previous time we were there.

The only sit in Chinese we go to outside of Chinatown. The fillet steak in black pepper sauce is amazing!! The Shanghai grilled dumplings are also a must

Good food, great customer service, and very well run in this difficult time of Covid restrictions. I was back in December 2022, and I have to say the food was fantastic. The staff was happy and helpful and the place was clean and tidy. It was busy, so when I asked for extra cutlery, it never came, so I just took it from an empty table that was set, but they were rushed off their feet so I totally understood that they forgot.

Really lovely food and great choices to suit everybody on the menu. Food comes so fast , if looking for an evening out it can be over too quickly. I always need to ask for a little break between corses which staff happily do. I’d highly recommend this restaurant. Look out for the mid week deal which is also great value !

Worst place I’ve ever been we are all really poorly never been so sick

The worst Chinese restaurant in Manchester by a mile. Sloppy chow mein, rubbery chicken & generally really poor service. If you want a decent Chinese anywhere in the vicinity of Manchester, go to Chinatown or any of the large restaurants above any of the Chinese supermarkets. Manchester does amazing Chinese food, I don’t know how this place stays in business with all of the competition.

Been going here for 15yrs and never dissapoints. Visited Saturday early evening and was thoroughly satisfied. Food and Service faultless

My wife and I went to the restaurant with our children to celebrate the conclusion of their exams at university; which in part has been stressful during the pandemic. The food was okay; however we had a issues with the manner of the service, the staff who brought our food; literally throw it on the table and were constantly stretching over us as we were eating and bumping into us as they were clearing the table without an apology. As a family we discussed the abrupt and distasteful behaviour of the serving staff at Dragon Palace, and wondered if our treatment was because we were people of colour. In future because of our experience we will avoid Dragon Palace and Chinese restaurants.

Checked before attending to ensure dietary requirements could be catered for. When we attended we were told no changes to the menu could be made. Very poor customer service. No mistake, this was prior to your closure. It was dine in on New Years Eve.

24 of my family visited for my son’s birthday (his choice). I had never actually been out to a Chinese restaurant - only had takeaway from elsewhere before. So glad we went, the restaurant was local, the food was delicious (and hot) and we were served very quickly. Well done, staff. 🙂

If you like Chinese food, then this is definitely the restaurant to go to for that purpose......I have been here on very many occasions and always enjoy what I have to eat here. The service by the staff is excellent and always helpful -- that is why I always come back here to eat **** don't wait too long between visits or you will miss out on the food

Five of us went on New Years Eve 2021. There was a special set banquet menu, but they were happy to add additional items from the normal menu. The food was excellent and plentiful. Everyone had a great time.

I've never had a chinese which gets it right all the time! We love all dishes but our favourite has to be the cripsy chicken in chilli in peking sauce. Highly recommended and the only chinese we've been going to for years

Went last night for our sons 18th birthday. Lovely meal and really nice friendly staff. I had dropped a cake and balloon off at lunchtime, and after our meal, the ladies brought out his cake, with sparkler candles and sang happy birthday. This made his birthday extra special.I would highly recommend here for a great night out. Thank you

My son and I come here very often to have a meal, enjoy the atmosphere and the surroundings. The food was of a very high standard and quality......the staff are also very helpful with the menu and there is plenty to choose from. This place is worth plenty of return visits and if you are in the area don't miss it

This restaurant I feel, has the most authentic Chinese food I've had in a long time...... there is such a wide variety of choice with the menu, it makes your mouth water. We all had something different from the menu......the starter was the only thing we all had the same ....Dim Sun.......the food and drinks were excellent **** this is definitely worth many more extra visits.....Thank You all very much.

Me and my wife had a takeaway on Christmas Eve and it was excellent from taking our order to being delivered was easy. Just to say Won Ton soup was excellent, we had chef’s special chow main and beef in black bean sauce again top class and some other dishes, my wife rang the restaurant to thank them couldn’t ask for a nicer meal Thanks Ken & Norma

Simply the nicest Chinese food I have eaten. Always fresh and piping hot, sometimes a wait but you know it’s from fresh of that is the case ! Can’t wait for you to open again

In my opinion the Chinese restaurant I have been to is the Dragon Palace - why you may ask and rightly so but remember I said in my opinion.You have a wide variety of choice in the menu and there is a bar as you enter at the front entrance for your drinks.We have always been pleasantly surprised at the high standard of the food and the service of the staff, we would definitely recommend further visits to this restaurant because if you don't you won't know what you are missing.

Walk in visit on a Saturday night. We were quickly shown to our table and offered drinks and the menu which has plenty of choice and is reasonably priced. Both drinks and food came quickly with one small issue was dealt with very quickly and politely. Food and service were excellent by friendly attentive staff.

Great place to eat. Frendly staff the food is filling and i never eat all the food beacuse there so much i would reccomend this place alot.

This restaurant is like a home from home, when it comes from eating out and it is local for me.They have an excellent menu to choose from and the food is always delicious to eat - with a bar if you want beers and lagers.It is always worth a return visit on more than one occasion.

The food was okay. The dim sum was a bit hard. The restaurant itself was nice and clean and tidy.

This is superb = a great restaurant with a lovely menu with all food freshly prepared. Happy Hours is very reasonable with a choice of starter and mains for a very good price.You never have to wart long to get served and the decor is immaculate. You even get a free calendar at Christmas Time.

Went on a early evening week day. Service was excellent and attentive throughout. Food was excellent with a couple of exceptions. Was not impressed with the starter dish of spare ribs and also chicken wings. Both were dry, overly chewy and were too salty. Also would be nice if food arrived at the same time for all guests. These are minor points in what was otherwise and excellent meal. Would go again.

Had dinner on a Tuesday evening and as usual the food and service was excellent.Everything was nicely presented and very tasty. The service is excellent.Prices are reasonable and there is an excellent choice of dishes. We took away what we couldn't finish as the portion sizes are very generous.The atmosphere inside is very welcoming and the place is immaculate.To be recommended, especially mid week when it is quieter.

Great place with excellent value for money food, had the happy hour set meal. Soup, mixed starter of ribs, prawn toast, spring rolls and chicken then a meal choice off a good varied list of meals. Happy hour from 5pm to 9pm with a great choice. All of us enjoyed the meal, only downside is I don't think they do soft drinks such as coke and lemonade on draft and use a large bottle, daughters lemonade was almost flat. Definitely recommend this place.

The Dragon Palace is the Houldsworth Square area and opens at 5pm till late........there is a bar as you enter, if you want to get your drinks first.

Poor.... wrong food arrived, had to wait for it. So didn't get to eat with my partner and the other food went cold. They tried to move our plates twice when finishing off our food. If you want a nice experience.... do not eat here
