Dovecote Buttery in Kettering

Had a beautiful meal here with family and friends. Always great service and the quality of the meals are superb. I will definitely return.

Enjoyable dining experience at a family get together at the Dovecote buttery. Ample parking and very friendly, helpful staff. Combine that with a generous menu & delicious food & you’re on to a bit of a winner. Would come again. Bacon eggs and sausage highly recommended !

Afternoon coffee in gallery type setting very nice, staff excellent too

Having visited several times and enjoyed coffees and cakes we decided to have a breakfast. Unfortunately it was a big let down. When the breakfast arrived there was overcooked bacon scrapes which spoilt the otherwise nice meal. Our dogs enjoyed the bacon as we took it home for them. It cost over £30 and skimping on the bacon really let it down. They have probably lost us as customers for the sake of a couple of bacon slices I

Lovely food and obviously very popular given that the car park was full and it's quite big. Service good. Just a bit crowded and therefore noisy.

Fantastic service. Called and made a booking for the same day, we arrived and were shown to our table straight away. Great breakfast and waiters are very attentive and make conversation. Would definitely recommend.

We checked online and said we didnt need to make a reservation however that wasnt correct. They very kindly checked and managed to sqeeze us in. Very good service, very fast. Portions a bit small for me personally. Will be going again, just wont have what i had previously. Try something new

What a fabulous place. Took a friend there for tea and cake and found the cafe to be an amazing relaxing and comfortable area, with armchairs and sofas arranged in amongst quirky handmade items for sale. The selection of cakes was good, as was the food menu. Slightly more expensive than other venues but well worth it for the ambience. Around a corner are more traditional tables and chairs, leading to a bright and airy restaurant area. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, with friendly and helpful staff. All in a countryside setting. An absolute gem.

We visited just before closing so that may gave affected our experience, however I did not find what I expected from the name. I expected a shop with dairy products and a cafe. The cafe was there snd the offerings were tasty but no locsl produce of any kind as far as I could detect. Lots if nice Christmas decorations but I was expecting something quite different.

Love Dovecote buttery and it’s been great seeing it develop over the years. Good food (very tasty Sunday lunch), lovely venue with home accessories to tempt the wallet and always a great atmosphere. Ring to reserve before you go because it gets busy.

At first, I wasn't impressed with the vegan options, I don't think the menu does the food justice. I went with the hummus and roasted pepper sandwich, sounded too simplistic and not adventurous enough, something I could easily make at home. But it was delicious. The brown bread was thick and lushous. The menu says that the sandwiches are served with salad and potato salad, so I made an enquiry as to whether they provided a vegan potato salad. I was super pleased when they came back out and said they could make some up, and when I asked if I could have jalapeños added in the sandwich, although each time the person serving us was resistant, the chef added it. It is a little pricey for what you get food wise, but the service from the kitchen was brilliant. Would highly recommend eating there. The food is delicious.

Refreshing interior, perfect for a light lunch or meal. I had the Dovecote Cheeseburger and Mocha, the beef is very well cooked and the food is overall amazing. Bread and sandwiches also looked enticing, along with the cakes

I was there for lunch with my sister and I chose the quiche which came with new potatoes and salad. The meal was very good and enough to feel full when finished. The staff were excellent and very attentive. It started to rain as we sat outside and we were asked if we would like to move. We could not go inside as we had the dog with us so they helped us to move to a table with an umbrella which gave us some shelter from the rain (which didn't last long anyway). We were also asked if we would like water for the dog - a nice thought. Overall, very pleased.

I hosted my sisters bridal shower at dovecote yesterday and honestly it couldn’t have gone better. The staff were incredible, they looked after us all and there was 24 of us. The afternoon tea as always was delicious and plenty of it. I can’t thank them enough, they let us decorate and take over the whole pantry which was just the perfect space to host. Thank you so much, if you are looking for a perfect afternoon tea and to celebrate dovecote is your place. Thank you so much for making it so special for us, memories we will cherish always!

An excellent place to stop while on a walk for a coffee and cake. I do a lot of walking to various cafes and Dovecotte by far does the best homemade cakes. Staff are always friendly, helpful and welcoming and has a great comfortable seating area for a coffee. Would highly recommend!

Excellent full English breakfast.

Been here a lots of times for coffee and cake thought we would try breakfast not happy as the 2 small poached eggs on one slice of toast were £8.50 ! wont be going again also it was quite chilly in there( it is nice in the summer sitting outside) but I think the prices are now too high for what you get.

We held our wedding reception here and it was Perfect in every way, from initial contact until the Monday when we collected our odds and ends. ALL of our guests commented that the food was beautiful and the staff were amazing! As a bride and groom we couldn’t have asked for more. Gorgeous food and lovely friendly environment.

Went with a friend for breakfast and was a lovely location to meet. Great options on hot drinks. Breakfast options in eyes a little limited. Personally would like to have seen some breakfast rolls available. I went for the full English and was lovely ingredients but still felt a little hungry after. with this priced at £10.95 and £3 for tea, to still feel hungry was a little disappointing for getting towards £15.

I honestly can not rate our visit today highly enough. We had an afternoon tea for 16 and it was amazing. Sandwiches were so fresh and tasty, the cake stands were absolutely amazing!!!. The service was brilliant, checking we had enough tea/coffee/water etc without being intrusive. Offered boxes to take what we didn't manage to eat home..and the portions were very generous!!. Absolute treat !!!. I only have 2 pictures as had cake to eat!!!!

I visited to celebrate my Mother-in-Law’s birthday with afternoon tea. Everything about the celebration was excellent from start to finish. Kerry (apologies if I have misspelled your name!) handled the telephone booking. She was friendly, knowledgable and made the booking both easy and pleasant. We were served afternoon tea in the lounge area. It is beautifully furnished, comfortable with a welcoming ambience and a warm feel. The lounge is family friendly, easily accommodating my one and three year old children. The afternoon tea is exceptional. The fresh sandwiches are very appetising, with simple, traditional fillings that were nevertheless amazing. The cakes and pastries on offer were beautifully presented and every bit as wonderful to eat as they are to look at: raspberry and chocolate tart; mini Victoria sponge with fresh cream and an absolutely beautiful fresh cream berry meringue. The scones served were the perfect size, not too small and not too big, perfectly complemented by the jammiest strawberry jam and fresh clotted cream. The whole visit was made even better by the most friendly and welcoming team. It really moved our visit from very good to great. I will certainly be back again the next time I am in this part of the U.K.!

Loved it 1st time I have been there

We went pre covid for strawberry picking, understandably a bit more £5 to previous, but felt pretty intimidating. Bit more military to the past visits, the owner in her truck drives up and down checking on every one. It seems all about revenue rather than family fun. It's a shame. Won't be returning

I discovered this place on a visit to the area. Had a delicious lunch with a friend who goes there regularly. Catered for my food allergies. Staff lovely. Nice gift shop. Will visit when I'm there area again. I would love to visit to pick the fruit in the Summer.

We had a very nice lunch here and when i mentioned I was gluten and dairy free it was no problem. Strawberry picking was great fun and having them up off the ground saved on the knees meaning it was easy to pick. Plenty of parking, overflow is on the grass area. The free park area looked great for children and was being well used. Will return.

Absolutely lovely place. Found this after having to divert off the A14 because it was closed for roadworks, and glad we did. Amazing cream tea which was swapped fir coffee. Beautiful setting, really friendly staff and outdoor seating in the sun with a swinging egg chair I did not want to get out of. Made Easter Monday a very pleasant stop.

We booked two tables, but when we arrived only one was available . One person had to eat elsewhere and was not allowed to eat a cooked meal. When staff realised their mistake there was no apology. Odd atmosphere. Doesn’t seem like it used to.

I did not go there but my wife said that she enjoyed her visit and meal with friends.

My friend and I were made to feel welcome. We just had a cream tea which was lovely, loads of cream and jam . We were there for ages even had a second drink. We were under no pressure to move on . Enjoyed every moment .

The coffee was just ok. I’d recommend that you check if your gluten free items are actually gluten free (which means ‘no contamination’). If they are, put wrap around them or keep them in a container to avoid contamination. Thanks!

Visited with a friend on a sunny day and decided to sit in the garden. I hadn't downloaded the ordering app but the staff were quite willing to come to our table to take food order. We both ordered salads and decided to order portions of chips to supplement the healthy food. When the salads were served they were very substantial meals with crusty bread and butter; we still enjoyed the chips though! A beautiful setting, friendly staff, I can't wait to visit again!

Went for a Sunday roast here and was very displeased. We ordered “roast sirloin beef with trimmings”, it didn’t state what trimmings but we just assumed it would be all of the normal ones for the price we were paying. For the amount your paying you don’t get very much food. There was no stuffing or cauliflower cheese and you only got 3 roast potatoes with a little bit of veg and a small Yorkshire pudding. While you get a decent amount of meat, my boyfriends meat came out cold. Overall I was very disappointed, you get much more on your plate from other local pubs for much less money.

It’s was my brothers 1st anniversary of his passing today.. my mum was very upset .: understandably.. so we took her to our local farm for lunch to cheer up.. we ask for vegetarian dish for my mum. Which was told was cheese and pickle sandwich.. when the waitress brought it out I asked definitely cheese suitable for vegetarians.. she said hmm I duno I presume so.. I said sorry to be a pain .. can you double check .. ( we was sitting right next to the kitchen ) she went in and asked .. we heard the chef slagging us.. his sick of demanding needs for vegetarians and vegans ans told her tell us it was, even though it wasn’t in the end ! I did raise my voice and let the chef know we was right outside the door.. to which the job looking sweaty mess came out stuttering like a t##t . Oh and the flies all over the food was absolutely disgusting also..

Lovely country eaterie with deli shop

Went for scone ,jam,cream.Nicely presented but scones were not home made,they were doughy ! The jam and cream were nice ,shame !

We were shocked to be presented with a bill for over £23 for breakfast. Both our dishes chosen because we felt the full english and veggie version were overpriced.Add one latte and a sparkling raspberry water to our order.Very, very average taste wise. Not so average prices. Watch the costs on the drinks where it seemed to us the mark up was made.It was... OK? Not VFM.

Have not been here for years so very surprised at the size of the place! We had coffee and cake ,all was well presented and delicious
