This was supposed to be a special birthday meal. Very disappointing.Decor : Extremely dated and a mix of old uncomfortable furniture making it untidy looking. Not an inviting place to be.Cleanliness : Not good at all. We were seated in the back by the fireplace near a window. Very dark/dusty/dirty. Lamp/fairy lights werent working. Dead plants. Filthy windows. Dead bug on outside window ledge.Needed a thorough clean inside and out.Drinks :Ok reasonable choice available.Bar covered in linen tableware.Atmosphere :None. No back ground music. Could hear constant shouting in the kitchen. Only one other table of people and the hostess said two bookings had been cancelled that evening.Food :Partners meal looked good and tasted ok.Mine (chicken kebab?) was extremely bland and dry and covered in dry spice (paprika) .. couldnt eat it.There were brilliant previous reviews ... though very old and an award winning chef, so we were extremely disappointed after a long awaited visit here.My advice to those thinking of going ... dont.It wasnt a cheap menu and we found definitely not worth our time or money.It needs a massive renovation ... it could be a gold mine as the building is crying out for some love and care.Hopefully the owners will listen to these comments and take on board the changes they need to make. Go to other restaurants and check out the type of things people now prefer. The pub opposite was fabulous/full and very atmospheric. Sadly, we wont be re-visiting this restaurant ...

Just been for a delicious meal! We ordered off the a la carte menu, and both our choices were fantastic! Will be back in future to try the buffet!

Superb Persian food. We went for the meze banquet at £16.95 per head. It was absolutely delicious and we were grateful of a bit of a break between courses. This is not for the faint hearted, as there is a lot of food. However the description of ACH dish, given by the owner was helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed every succulent, flavoursome mouthful. The unleavened bread is to die for. Thank you for making our mundane evening BERY special!

Visited Tuesday evening when a lot of places are closed. Superb food, great choice, tasty and filling. No space left for puds !! Will be going again very soon.

Overall we enjoyed our dinner at old hall. Myself and my boyfriend went for the banquet menu. There was lots of food and it was great to try something different. The starters were probably the highlight. The service wasn’t great, which I hate to say as I know it’s a family restaurant but we had to ask for water and glasses numerous times before we actually got them. Had to wait for the food a little too but didn’t mind as it was worth the wait.

I cannot speak highly enough of the food and the service at this beautiful place. We had never tried Iranian food before so have no idea if it was authentic - but it tasted how I imagine the real thing would and it was very, very good. The chef clearly knows his flavours. We were made extremely welcome and felt comfortable and relaxed. We went while on a short break but would make the journey back from Birmingham just for a repeat visit.

As no-locals we were stayng in dorrigton for a weekend and wanted something a little bit different. We found the Old Hall through a google search which provided lots of great reviews so we decided to try it out. I'm so glad we did!Dr Haider's communication and cooking skills are second to none.Due to the pandemic only takeaway was available, service was great and the take out box was neatly packed.Everything on the tasting menu was amazing; particularly the Mahi Biryan (River Cobbler), Khoresht-e-Gheimeh (split-pea stew), and khoresht (Chicken Stew).We enjoyed our stay in Dorrington, so plan to be back again. hopefully we can experience the dine in experience with The Old Hall then too.

A wonderful celebration last night fuelled by a glorious Mezzeh from the Old Hall. Persian cooking at its finest. Succulent lamb and some of the best dahl and bean dishes I have ever tasted. Plenty of vegan options. This raises 'take-away' to a whole new level.

We chose to have a takeaway as we are still in lockdown and wanted to celebrate Mothers Day. We opted for the 2 course set menu for 2 people. We knew we would like the food as we have eaten in the restaurant before. We collected the food on time and hot with contactless, no fuss payment. We were certainly impressed with the delicious selection of dips, starters, hot and cold food and bread and salad. There was plenty to feed us with leftovers and every mouthful was absoloutly delicious and tasty. We will definatly be ordering another takeaway and visiting to dine in as soon as we can!

Our first night out for months was a special occasion in this lovely old building decorated for the festive season. The host was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about all the food and wine. We had the three course taster banquet allowing us to sample a delicious range of flavours; even the sweet course is exceptional. As we are local I was delighted to learn that he will be offering a 15% discount on takeaways.

Our first time at Dorrington Old Hall. Absolutely beautiful food, full of flavour, just delicious. We really could not fault anything about our experience. Friendly server who took time to chat with us and explain everything. Beautiful ambience also with open fire and lights for Christmas. We had the mezze platter which the chef adapted perfectly to make it vegan for us. We just can’t wait to go back!

Best takeaway in ages. Great range of dishes on the taster menu. Everything delicious, with flavours from the subtle to the spicy. Starters freshly cooked flat breads with hummus, aubergine, chicken, olives, pickled red cabbage salad and fish in tempura batter. Generous main dishes of lentil, cauliflower, chicken and lamb dishes. Coming again soon, thank you!

Covid take out. We had a meal for 5. Unfortunately it was a bit cool by the time we got it home and had eaten starters, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Didn’t have a lot of room left. But tucked in anyway. There was so much there that we reheated it and enjoyed it again the next day. All in all we enjoyed everything.

Due to Covid, Dorrington's Persian Restaurant is now doing takeaways which I am over the moon about. The service was fantastic and the food still as delicious. Also 15% off their ala Carte menu when taking away. I hope to be coming back this weekend to support them during this time.

We really enjoyed experiencing the taster menu, an interesting selection of dishes never tried before. The staff were friendly and helpful.

My family and I celebrated my 50th birthday recently at the restaurant. Firstly I would like to thank them for making it a truly memorable experience. This was our first Persian experience, which did not disappoint and I can honestly say the food was the best we’ve ever had. I can tell the food is cooked with love and attention to detail. The only problem is I am left craving for more. The service was exceptional & we were made to feel very welcome. We had a tasting platter, which also included plenty of vegan dishes. We went the whole hog and enjoyed a 3 course. There was so much food with more on offer if we wanted anymore of anything. For anyone who has never tried Persian cuisine and doesn’t know what to expect, I highly recommend. You will experience beautiful flavours that are truly exceptional. Thank you once again from my family and I. We look forward to returning soon.

This is the second time we have visited the Old Hall. The food is amazing. We had a selection of bowls to try, each one as good as the last. Nothing was too much trouble and we were well looked after. The meals are extremely good value.

We weren't sure what to expect from Persian food, but we were pleasantly surprised. The five of us had the set menu. The starters were lovely and could have been a meal on their own. Of the mains one of my daughters loved the spicy chicken, while the other loved the mixed vegetables, my husband preferred the lamb. Great for vegetarians too. We would definitely recommend. So pleased that we broadened our tastes.

Visited on a damp Saturday evening with our 7 year old. We had the mixed starter, every single bit of which was delicious. Moved on to the Fesenjan (chicken in pomegranate) which was sublime. And the naan was out of this world. Service was attentive, friendly but not intrusive. We will definitely be visiting again and will also make use of the ability to take away. We came here for dinner on a Saturday evening when away for a few days in Shropshire. It was easily the best meal of our trip! The food was so fresh and tasty and the service was perfect. It was like we had gone round to some very culinarily talented friends for dinner. I would literally drive back to London specifically to come here again - if you haven't been and you're in the area, please do, or you're missing a trick :)

We discovered Persian cuisine at the Old Hall and loved the flavours. Delicious lamb falling off the bone. Service was a bit slow and ambiance was lacking a bit but could be due to slow reopening after covid crisis. Overall great food so can recommend.

The Old Hall in Dorrington has been our go to for many years, not as often as we would have wished, but always the warmest welcome and the incredible tasting banquet had to be seen to be believed. The patron chef, Ijal, created wonderful fusion dishes and a beautiful restaurant to boot. With the current limitations you always fear that a jewel in the culinary crown of any area will fall by the wayside, so we were overjoyed to see the Old Hall open as a takeaway and this was our chance to try our favourite dishes again, from the comfort of our own home.One thing you never fail to get from the Old Hall is an example of Ijal's generosity, we ordered several repeat mains, a starter and a side, only to find a 3rd of his famously enormous Naans where only 2 had been ordered. Small tubs of starters and two types of rice were also included gratis which speaks for his desire for you to have the full experience of the meal over all else. The included olives flavoured with pomegranate molasses brought back fond memories and the smoothest humus you could wish for. But the real stars were the bean stew flavoured with dried limes and the mixed lentil dish, both favourites. With the current discount for takeaway orders, we had our own tasting platter (with mountains of leftovers for later) for less than we would usually spend for a sit down meal. Of course nothing can replace the enjoyment of dining in at the Old Hall, but having a bit of culinary magic, recreated by people with generosity of spirit and love for their patrons, just brightened an incredibly dark time quite substantially. Ijal should be rightly proud of what he has created, but I'm equally proud to know him and the staff at the Old Hall. We're busily planning our next takeaway...when we've used up the leftover of course!

We’ve eaten in the Old Hall restaurant before, many times, and always thoroughly enjoyed it, it’s worth the trip every time; the food is unlike anything else we have found. Very glad to have been able to now get a takeaway, the only difficulty is choosing which specific dishes to have from the menu as we’ve been so spoilt for choice with buffet options when eating in; luckily we know our favourites! Thoroughly recommended.

'And i would walk 500 miles'......well nearly! The best takeaway in the county well worth a drive out. Marvellous food, great value and until restaurant can reopen this will do very nicely!

They reopened for takeaway on the 26th.We went yesterday - 27th. It a long trip for us - around an hour - but totally worthwhile! As it happened, we ended up with a massive puncture on the way. Courtesy of the AA we arrived 2 hours late to pick up. They were brilliant, courteous, kind and helpful!Even better, everything we had tasted as good as we remembered; even though we had to wait until we got home (some very nice smells percolating through the car)!My favourite were the two kebabs- murgh and Kobeideh - both succulent and spicy! In fact, we’ve split things up into 4 meals...Last helping of the fezenjan tonight!!

What a treat - we had a very enjoyable evening out at this Persian restaurant. The food was very tasty - we had the tasting menu which allowed us to try a variety of dishes, and left us very satisfied! Great value too. Owner was very friendly and attentive. Would recommend.

It’s not the first time we have been here, but today we just fancied something different for lunch. Along with friends my wife and I headed over to Old Hall and had the fabulous 3 course banquet. The food is exceptional, service is friendly and attentive and they can teach many many restaurants about how to make the perfect nan bread. Christmas Day lunch with a Persian twist. Something quite different for our family group of 8 - and thoroughly enjoyable it was. The seemingly never-ending array of dishes, all perfectly presented and very tasty was enjoyed by all as an unusual alternative to the traditional turkey Christmas dinner.Our thanks to the staff in the kitchen for their hard work in keeping us happy and contented- a memorably different Christmas Day Lunch !

This is the third time we have been here for New Years Eve and experienced the amazing and interesting cuisine with so many hot dishes in a buffet style so you can try them all and then go back for the ones you think are the most delicious. Each one has a history of where the dish comes from and what spices and ingredients are in them. The sweet dishes look plain but they too are delicately spiced and absolutely delicious. They also do take away and the price is very reasonable indeed. Can wholly recommend this place its a culinary extravaganza!

Fantastic food, creative cooking of Persian and other dishes. We love going there, the welcome, the setting the relaxed atmosphere and of course the delicious food all served as a buffet make one want to go back. Even the Iranian music playing softly added to the experience. Unpretentious and yet superb, Dr Hiders trademark we think.

Another lovely evening at Old Hall, the outstanding choice of dishes that are all delicious, the starters the flat bread, then the many main choices send one into gastronomic heaven, and then to finish the most delicious rice pudding, that would make me want to eat it every day.Congratulations Dr Haider and your team

Came here for dinner on a Friday night and unfortunately it was almost deserted--don't know why as it's a good place to go. We had the taster menu which was good value and encompassed many different dishes. The description of it wasn't what was printed in the menu and they didn't have the wine we chose--minor niggles. The gentleman who served us was charming so a good night out!

We were looking for something spicy and agreed that although the Jaipur is a good standby, it gets very busy on a Saturday and we fancied trying somewhere new.Passed this place hundreds of times but haven't been in since it was the Country Friends!!We were fairly early and got a table by the open fire, which wasn't well managed and was out by the time we left. The restaurant was dimly lit, which was nice but had to use my phone torch to view the menu.A friendly, Persian doctor owns the restaurant and he was running the place by himself with some help from a lady, seemed to be a relative. As the restaurant got busier, being a Saturday evening, things slowed to the point where we had to ask for the bill a couple of times.The food was delightful. We shared a selection of starters then mains and enjoyed it all. So may different tastes and 2 different types of rice, one was with Chickpeas, wholesome and delicious.Drinks were in bottles and the wine was not a great Sauvignon but reasonably priced nonetheless.We'll be back here soon for sure.

We had the taster menu on Thursday. Lots of different dishes to try unusual and tasty. Quite a few vegetable dishes all delicious and chicken and lamb. Lots of dips and a lovely hot flat bread.

They obviously eat early in this part of the world, as - when we arrived around 7.30 p.m. on a Friday evening - theere were just three other tables in use, and those emptied soon after. But don't let the lack of patrons put you off. For once, this almost empty restaurant was no indicator of poor service or low standards of dining. Far from it, our last minute curiosity whch led to booking a table led to a memorable eating experience.

We’ve been to Dorrington Old Hall a number of times and never been disappointed. This time they were offering the buffet, which is a great way to experience a wide range of delicious Persian dishes. Exceptionally tasty. A balance and range of heats to suit most palates.

Visited Dorrington Old Hall on Tuesday evening and we really enjoyed the whole experience. The restaurant was cosy and inviting and although there was only one other table dining that night it didn’t feel ‘empty’. They had put the buffet on and we were more than happy to choose from that.

Made to feel welcome on arrival. A midweek visit the restaurant wasn't to busy. We were given a choice of where to sit in the pleasant dining room. The gentleman looking after us was very informative both about the history of the restaurant and the menu. We enjoyed the taster menu. A selection of the main menu. A real treat, very enjoyable. After a very enjoyable meal we agreed well worth the twenty mile journey to get there and we will return.

Not the most polite staff but absolutely fantastic food and value for money. I live in Manchester and simply have to visit this restaurant when I’m in Shropshire. My favourite restaurant...I cannot rate it highly enough!!!

The best takeaway l have ever had. Asked if we would like it mild, medium or hot on all dishes, flavours were outstanding. We plan on a return visit but eat in this time. This restaurant was mentioned to us on a previous visit by are friends, and they were right. It still makes my mouth water even now.

Two of us ate here mid April, very quiet, but peaceful and pleasant. We've eaten here before in the past 5 years, but celebrating a wedding anniversary, decided on the tasting menu. Delightful flavours and ingredients from a giant naan to gently spiced potato to 3 different rices and kedgeree, floral salads, stunning chicken dishes, lamb, lentil, bean dishes and gentle rice and vermicelli sweets. All served as three courses by a very knowledgeable and pleasant gent. A doggy bag was provided so my partner could have some for breakfast. It's a really nice experience for less than £17 each - Takes well over an hour to do it justice and you'll be well stuffed! The owner has several "Chef of the year accolades" and the menu does this justice. This is not a "normal" curry restaurant, this is a tasting experience well worth a visit. Do go mid week when it's not crowded, you won't regret it.

We visited on a Saturday evening in mid March this time. As they had quite a few bookings, they had put on their buffet, which we decided to try.

Been wanting to come here for ages. What a gem of a place, and right on our doorstep for all of these years. Beautiful food, beautiful staff, great with kids. The chef was so attentive and kept coming to check on every one. Never had such tasty well cooked and well presented food so far. A real taste of Persia. Would highly recommend the Sunday buffet to anyone passing by! We will be back again and again.

We had a delicious take away, a mixture a starters and mains, all vegetarian. Every dish had delicious individual flavours, some quite spicy - thank you for the dressing! Really good, really, fresh - gorgeous thank you!

We spent a really lovely evening at this restaurant, enjoying wonderful food in great surroundings. The host was gracious and attentive, serving delicious cuisine 😀😀

We ate here for the first time last night and felt compelled to write a review. We went for the buffet menu so were able to sample a big variety of different dishes and flavours. As a vegetarian it was wonderful to have so much choice and my meat eating husband was equally well catered for. A must try is the vegan bean stew which had richness and depth of flavour so often missing from veggie food. The desserts were amazing - don't pass them by. We sampled a little bit of everything and could easily have gone back for more we're we not so full. The atmosphere was beautifully relaxed and the staff and owner could not do enough for us. Dietary requirements are well catered for with plenty of gluten free options too. Dont go expecting your standard curry house fayre - this is so much more. If you enjoy trying new flavours and dishes and appreciate food prepared with thought by an excellent chef - this is the place.

The owner and chef has created a menu out of his passion for cooking based on Persian themes. This is not as spiced as your "Indian" cooking in the UK but warm spices with an aromatic sense. Unless you are totally spice averse do try it. I they are running the taster menu it is a good way to try many dishes only one of which I would call "hot" in the spiced sense and this was clearly marked!

This restaurant has become a firm family favourite. It's friendly and has a relaxed atmosphere - the type of place you don't feel in a rush to leave as soon as the meal is over. The buffet is excellent value for money with unusual and beautifully flavoured dishes. The owner/chef comes round at the end to talk to all his customers too. Highly recommended.

Didn't know what to expect so tried their taster menu. We were not disappointed. Well presented and awesome flavours. Very filling. Good clean decor and restaurant. Friendly waiter. Nice drinks menu. I can well understand the accolades they have achieved. If you've never tried Persian cuisine, give it a go! We were not disappointed and would recommend .

A wonderful experience! We were the only diners on a mid-week evening but were given the benefit of the owner-chef's full attention in preparing and serving the banquet menu. The food, which we thoroughly enjoyed, was the work of someone who knows all about Persian cuisine and how to create tempting and interesting flavours. Every dish we tasted was perfectly cooked, and the different dishes worked well together. Extra helpings were freely provided. Delicious Lebanese wine was a good choice. The owner is a courteous and open-hearted host who loves sharing his passion for Persian food. He is very good company. It seems that the satisfaction of his guests is more important to him than making a profit. The restaurant offers exceptional value for money.

We have just returned from dining here tonight to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. The restaurant was quiet, it was a Wednesday night. The restaurant has a lovely warm feeling with an open fire and fairy lights to decorate it.

The rice pudding with apricot and rose petal jam will change your life. The rest of the menu is not bad either. Not recommended for dieters.

We were a group of ten friends.... we chose the tasting menu which was fantastic value. There were endless dishes of beautiful food brought out to us and a good mix of meat and vegetarian. Flat breads and selections of dips.....all so tasty and beautifully prepared. They also brought us out a selection of desserts...quite unusual as we hadn’t tasted anything like it before but very very delicious! Very easy to over eat there! Staff are friendly and attentive.....really looking forward to our next visit. Would highly recommend Dorrington Hall.

Our first visit to the Old Hall arranged by friends. A friendly welcome and tonight was 'Buffet Night'. Set starters were brought to our table and then we chose from a variety of dishes, each dish explained to us and written descriptions were posted on the wall above each. Finally, we helped ourselves to dessert and coffee was served. Quality of food was good and we would like to return and try the 'tasting menu'

This was our second visit to Old Hall having tried the tasting menu on a previous occasion just to find out what we liked. Ventured into the A La carte this time with a River Cobbler Starter/Murgh Kebab, delicious chicken pieces marinated in onion saffron salt and pepper olive oil and lemon. Fesengan for Main, chicken pieces in sauce that includespomegranate juice, so quite sweet but delicious. Sides of Chick Pea Rice and Plain Rice cooked in Rose Water. With Soft Drinks came to under £36.00 with Tastecard reduction. Lovely meal with cheerful and helpful staff.

Excellent food we enjoyed both menu..recommend the tasting menu, service was exceptional ...couldn't do enough for us.

The buffet food is consistently delicious and all dishes are entirely different. A good range. The bread is very tasty. A good range of local ales to wash the food down with. The grade II listed building is dark and atmospheric.

We turned up on a Friday night and it was clear that the tasting banquet (rather than a la carte) was the best value. A nice selection of dishes and plenty of them. There is a cheaper children's price for the banquet. The nan bread and the lamb were both very good.

Is this a well kept secret, good food very tasty. We chose the taster meal as it was more like. Mezze and was a good choice. Good value for money, I was driving so no alcohol for me but I will be back to try Indian wine.

We went for a father day meal and the first thing that we noticed when we parked and walked in was how shabby it looked, really needs maintenance and modernising but we put that to one side and went to the table only to find out that they didn't have high chairs for our little one.

Attentive server, quite swift service but the meal was SO very over salted, salt was the only flavour I could remember. The flat bread was large and light and hot, very nice.Some time after the meal I was craving water. The rice dish was extremely ordinary, I had hoped for so much more subtlety of flavours. Not a restaurant I would return to.

Having driven past this place for almost 10 years we had an excuse (aka a visitor) to eventually visit them. I guess our previous reluctance stems from my ignorance as to Persian food, despite being in the food trade for over forty years, Persian food had never featured.

Had the tasting menu, which is <£20 per person, and it was excellent and more than we could eat. Don’t understand why this place is such a well kept secret

This was our first visit to the Old hall, we were a group of five people. Initial impressions were very good. A friendly welcome from the waiter, log fire burning in the hearth and a cosy atmosphere.

My wife and I had a very pleasant evening. The food was tasty and varied. We have been here several times and always enjoy the food and the atmosphere. If you have never been here do give it a try!

We went there for the first time on Saturday night. There was a friendly welcome on arrival. Having not eaten...

We had a nice welcome from the waiter when we arrived and were quickly shown to our table. The hall maintains all of it's old charm and is decorated in the theme of the restaurant. There is a buffet service. Firstly you had a Naan bread with Baba ganoush(spelling) an aubergine dip,hummous and a olive ,garlic and chilli mix,all the dips were fantastic and the naan was lovely and light. We were shown to the buffet and had everything explained to us. However with each dish,thewre was a great explanation of what it is and what's in it. We startedoff with a bit of everything and then went back for more. There was rice with almonds and fruit,lamb and pomegranate curry,chicken curry and many more. It was like no other curry I've ever tasted,it was aromatic and spicy,but not with the thick cloying sauce.We thoroughly enjoyed it. The desserts were two rice puddings made with saffron and the other with rose water and pistacao and a halva. The meal was great,we'll defintely go back.

Really enjoyed our first visit - originally was made aware in Tastecard list for food available close to our holiday stay in Minsterley - we chose the tasting menu so that we could have a wide choice of dishes - five starters and bread, six mains and two rices - excellent value at £16.95 per head. Gentleman who served us was really friendly and helpful - favourite dish was Fesenjan (Chicken Breast cooked in part in Pomegranate Juice - no room for afters although choice was really good.

Had a girls night out for 11 including four 12 year olds. Lovely evening and as usual delicious food. Staff where really kind and let us wait for our lift to arrive. Hi had hot very lost and was an hour late. Even offering us a free drink. Thank you so much

Visited for the first time on Saturday night for the buffet. Great starter of Hummus/Olives/aubergine and garlic and fresh flat bread. Very large selection of dishes at the buffet with varied flavours and heat - something for everyone! I like vegetarian dishes and there were a good number on offer.The staff were efficient and friendly and the owner visited every table to have a chat with the customers

My wife and I visited this restaurant and opted for the buffet. Both of us were completely blown away by the standard, variety and flavours of the food. The starter was the best I have tasted from middle eastern or asian cuisine. Absolutely delicious. For the main course there were plenty of options from mild dishes through to spicier fare. Again there were ample choices to cater for all palates and all to an extremely high standard. I have noted a few negative comments regarding the restaurants décor and the somewhat idiosyncratic Maitre'D. We found him delightful, knowledgeable and helpful. However if you go here for the food you will not be disappointed.

We stumbled upon this place after missing our reservation elsewhere. Even tough we arrived after serving time we were welcomed with a smile! We sat next to a lovely couple who recommend the mixed starter and mixed mains and it was fabulous with my favourites being the chicken kebab (one of 7 dishes from the starter) and the lamb and lentils (2 of 6) dishes from the mains. Highly recommended.

We had a strange experience here but the owner was good enough to acknowledge us. So we chose to go back. I'm really glad we did. The food was excellent. Many things on the set menu that I wouldn't normally order but why not broaden your horizons every now and then. The service was also excellent, we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and I would recommend!

We arrived without reservations. The owner greeted us and was very pleasant. A waiter arrived with the starter, and there was no choice. He disappeared and we did not see him again. The owner returned to take us into another room where all the buffet dishes were set out on heated pans. He told us what was in each dish which was very confusing by the end of the introduction. Then we discovered the ingredients were written above the dishes!! Several vegetarian dishes, and the chicken dishes looked similar and rather sloppy. The only restaurant in which i have eaten my desert with the main course dirty plates left on the table. Deserts were very uninspiring and the main vegetable dishes all tasted rather similar.The owner reappeared to take the money for the bill, and then disappeared again as we left the restaurant without anyone showing us out.I suspect they are resting on their laurels of a previous win of best curry of the year. 2016. he needs more waiting staff.

We arrived without reserving and were told we might not be able to have a meal as the chef had family problems. Then we were asked to sit down and could have the Tasting menu. A big platter of appetizers with flat bread arrived. Absolutely delicious, very flavourful. The main courses were also excellent with lots of choice and flavours. We hope the restaurant keeps going.

We called in for an Indian meal with a difference.The owner was very welcoming and advised us to sample the buffet. We did and were very pleasantly surprise by the choice of dishes and the advice we were given about each one. Good choices for vegetarians and for meat eaters. We had chicken. The lentil dished were particularly packed with flavour. The service and attention was good throughout our stay.

Enjoyed a lovely evening at this gem. We choose the taster menu so we could experience a variety of dishes. The selection was well balanced and delicious. The flavours were lovely and you could tell a lot of care and gone in to cooking the dishes. The chef/owner came round after service to check we had enjoyed the evening and explained that the dishes were his mothers authentic recipes. The head waiter was also friendly, informative and enjoyed a little joke, making this a lovely relaxed evening with one of the best meals I have ever eaten. This is a gem of a restaurant and I just wish it was closer to where we live. We were enjoying a weekend break at nearby Netley Hall and would recommend this restaurant to other visitors in the area.

We took my American and Spanish friends to this charming restaurant on a buffet evening. What a choice of dishes - probably 15 or more! Then 4 or more desserts too. Starter was served to us with beautiful huge flat bread. All in lovely surroundings. We shall return.Maureen and Peter Bond Church Stretton

This is a really different experience when it comes to a meal out. It has a lovely atmosphere thanks to beautiful wall hangings and rugs. The food is just superb, cooked by experts and truly delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful. There are also outside seating areas in delightful gardens.

My wife and I went for a quiet evening meal and we had a very enjoyable time. The lamb was particularly good and the portions were very generous. The atmosphere was quiet so we could hear each other talk. The food is very original and always very tasty. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to anyone prepared to try something slightly different. We have been several times and have always come away with happy memories!

A quiet evening in Dorrington. This is not likely to be unusual.Extensive menus, but for us when it came down to it, it was "this is what we do - tasting menu - so this is what you are having".All very politely served, but the place is in need of a clean. Dust and dirt particles were on the tablecloth, crockery and glassware. Tapped away by the waiter with his cloth, but not entirely.Buffet type meals need footfall and throughput to keep the food fresh and appetising. The buffet was closed.Some lovely flavours but the eight people in the restaurant on just three occupied tables are not going to make much for the owners or staff.Persian (carefully clarified not Iranian) food was from the memories of the medical doctor owner and his mother's kitchen.A good effort, but there is evidence of a lack of care to the buildings, adjoining car park and from the some of the old detritus hanging around there. Hens roam pleasantly on the uncut grass/gravel.There is evidence of living in the past which is fine, but today's standards probably demand slightly better facilities and cleanliness.All that said, the chicken kebab sauce flavour, being part of the first set of dishes offered were the tastiest ever.This place is worth a try. If it was busy, everything may have appeared even better.
