Dornoch inn in Highland

Arrived at restaurant having booked a table and received confirmation of booking to be told that restaurant was closed due to a wedding . Extremely annoyed by this as we had driven from outside Glasgow to Dornoch for a weekend stay. Fortunately another local restaurant was able to accommodate us at short notice and we had a lovely meal . Extremely annoyed and disappointed by this flagrant disregard of customers. Cannot comment on food .

It took 30 minutes between sitting down and receiving menus and asked what we'd like to drink and a total of 1 hour 45 mins from sitting down to receiving our main course. The food was okay.

We had lunch here, it was very quiet and we didn't need to book. The food was all freshly made and my fussy water daughter really enjoyed hers too. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was all reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend

Absolutely wonderful dining experience. After attempting to get a table at another bar/restaurant in Dornoch “The Eagle” and the waitress turning us away making some snide comments as our party of 12 left, we went here and the whole experience was wonderful. We were served by Ben who was 10/10- great customer service skills with a great personality and patience when dealing with a large party of people. The service was tremendous, the food was delicious and very reasonable. Would highly recommend

Lovely restaurant with an extensive flexible menu. I had melt in the mouth pork belly with crackling & a cider sauce, advertised with fondant potatoes & red cabbage but I was offered roasted roots when I said I'm not fond of red cabbage. My grandson fancied Nachos which were on the lunch menu so was offered them as a starter. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they were brilliant. Six of us had a 3-course dinner & couldn't fault anything. Would definitely recommend. We had quite a wait for the starters ir I would have given 5*'s.

Great little local pub with a mixture of locals and tourists. Under new owners for a few years. Which was terrible for them as they bought it just before the pandemic. They used the closure to drastically renovate though and it desperately needed it. Great food, reasonable prices and great service.

It might not look its best from the outside but it's definitely worth a visit. I stopped by for lunch whilst visiting Durnoch and they served me a very tasty and warm mushroom soup (perfect for that cold and rainy day). The price was absolutely reasonable and the waiter was very smiley and polite.

First time in this restaurant, would certainly go back. Excellent choice of menu, we were a table of four and had a three course meal. Food was beautiful and the staff were very friendly, the ambience of the restaurant was lovely and very nice and fresh. thoroughly enjoyed the experience thank you

Despite having reservations after reading some other reviews on this place our experience was good. Very welcoming friendly waitress who even organised a custom made plate of Sunday roast for a picky non veg eater! Delicious beef and lots of it although very few miniscule roasties would have preferred bigger but the meat was faultless. Can only speak from our experience so I would recommend you give them a try .

This was a very nice pub/restaurant we visited Dornach to play golf. The pub downstairs is charming, and the restaurant upstairs was very nice and looked like it had been newly-renovated. The staff was very friendly. It seemed as though they were getting used to a new computerized system, so it wasn’t super efficient, but the quality of the food made up for any slight inconvenience. I had lamb at it was some of the best I’ve had. My son had been trying fish and chips throughout our trip and rated this place very high on his list. And of course the pints were flowing. Highly recommend a night here if you’re in town to play Royal Dornach!
