Wow! First time diner here today, and will definitely be back because the food was amazingly good quality, so too was the phenomenal Café Cubano!! The atmosphere was great and very relaxed I'm certain due entirely to the really lovely vibe of the people running the restaurant. Big thank you x

Great food, lovely welcome and cosy atmosphere

I'm about to depart Bangor and wanted to stop by before I leave. The food is outstanding, the tea and coffee selection is incredible, and the owners always greet you warmly! My all-time fave soup is Forest Mushroom Soup. Every time I eat it, it makes me nostalgic for home. Domu is the only thing about Bangor I'll miss! Love to the owners! ❤️

Always an outstanding coffee house with gorgeous food (especially fab cakes), curated music and lovely vibe always.

I love Domu, this is the second time I’ve been and I love it every time. The food is so calm and delicious, the service is really friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere of the place is really cosy and homely. The whole place is nourishing and I leave with a full stomach and spirit every time. Great playlists too. Just 100 stars from me.

One of my favourite cafes in Bangor, great quality of food never mind all being vegetarian and home made!

We had the mushroom soup, a cake (can’t remember which one) a flat white and hot chocolate. The soup was the highlight of the meal, was so delicious we plan to come back just for that! Unfortunately didn’t take any pic of the soup we just devoured it 😋😂.

The Borscht was really good and the flat white was the best ever!

Popped in for quick lunch and was really impressed with the food and coffee. Carrot Dhal and Orzo Soup was very tasty and the coffee and cake superb. Lovely informal place to chill and dog friendly.

Such a beautiful little coffee shop! The lady that served us was so friendly and made the atmosphere really lovely as she was chatting away with visitors. Coffee was gorgeous too, and even though we visited close to closing time we had a lovely time. Would absolutely visit again.

Lovely atmosphere, amazing coffee and food

I am writing this review after 1 year of visiting this café and Bangor only once. I am captured in its amazing atmosphere and loved the welcoming environment and the warmth of the place. I had tasted the best coffee brownie I have ever tasted in my life!! Since then and for over year I have been trying to find a similar taste but failed to.. I will be coming again soon to Bangor just to try your brownies and tasty coffee.

What's not to like at Domu? Everything here is an ingredient to a recipe that will only make you happy, whether it is what you will drink, what you will eat, where you will seat, what you will listen to, what you will see and most of all, who you will talk to. Go to domu anytime you can, you won't regret it!

This place made me think that I should never have given 5 stars to anywhere else I'd eaten; it was so good I want to go back again and again. Simple veggie menu based around homemade soup, bread and Czech savouries, and it was all delicious. Also truly wonderful homemade cakes. I can't praise this place enough, if you fancy homemade soup Domu is worth travelling to.

Great vibes, music, coffee, and Ukrainian food. But the cherry on the top is their amazing cakes. All home-made, large slices and delicious flavours. Svet and Dale make you feel like you’re coming home. It’s a pity we had to leave the area.

After installing my daughter in her room at the university we came down to the town for lunch, I had checked for vegetarian restaurants on Google and I'm so glad I chose Domu My daughter chose the pasty with the roasted tomato soup and I had the Potlava with the forest mushroom soup , both meals were extremely tasty and very filling and you could tell they had been prepared with care, the mushroom soup that I had with a pot lava was probably the best mushroom soup I've had in my life and I'm so glad I had some of the bread The owners are only too happy to discuss what the food is, how it's prepared, what the ingredients are, explain how they're all cooked and about the heritage of the dishes I was extremely happy with my visit and I can't wait to eat here again and I will get there earlier in the day so I could sample the bosch

Grear spot in Bangor! Food was delicious, the place was cute and the service was exceptional (probably best I had in the UK). After eating lunch, we wanted to try a cake because it looked amazing and we got two slices for one because they were the last. Instead of it going to waste/dry out, it was given us for free. Certainly felt like a valued customer, even though I'm only traveling through Bangor.

Absolutely gem of a find ! Food all home made, service second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. Dale and his Ukranian wife were very welcoming. The food had a very different twist on normal cafe products !

Very good location in Bangor high street. Delicious food with no waste policy. Tried a cake and two mains from the menu and all were really nice. If not hungry, at least try the lemon drizzle cake with coffee.

Great food. Brilliant service. Good background music. Zero waste policy 👍means small batch cooking so may have run out of dishes by early afternoon.

Haven't been here before, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Excellent food and friendly service. Would definitely recommend it.

Absolutely stunning food. Really delicious and like nothing we've tried before. The cakes were SO good which we had as takeaway with a beautiful turmeric latte. The atmosphere was lovely with frequent regulars, which shows how great it is. Staff were kind, welcoming and knowledgeable. We can't wait to return!

Hidden gem! It’s so nice to come to a place like this..with a super friendly owner, zero waste, cosy atmosphere and of course, great food. Vegan options were good - we had the flap jack and even ordered more for the next day as it was super yummy!

Amazing find this little cafe. The lady that served us was friendly and kind and lovely to chat to. They serve vegetarian food with good vegan options. There’s a lovely selection of cakes too. We had the flapjack and ordered more because it was so good! I love that this cafe is also a zero waste cafe. The tea selection was excellent. I had the strawberry tea and it was gorgeous! Clean toilets, lovely cozy vibe and good music. Thank you for a lovely time

Probably the best lounge caffe in town! Amazing food, superb atmosphere and friendly staff! Traditional original Ukrainian food, with amazing coffes and teas. I had no idea tha iced espresso existed! We had a mashroom and tomato soups that rivalled the soups of my own mother! It is truly homemade food!! If you are in Bangor you must visit Dommu at least for the tea. If you want to indulge yourself a bit more eat the amazing food. Ps. They even make homemade birthday cakes :D! Again superb! SL

Really lovely place, good food, felt very homely and friendly. I loved the 100% hot chocolate. It's nice to get something that isn't sweet. The cakes were really tasty and lunch choices looked good. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Went here with my 1 year old son, very accommodating. Sat on the high table, borscht arrived in 5 minutes, absolutely delicious and even the bread was good quality. Little gem on the high street.

Second time I've been with my 21 year old daughter. My daughter has been several times. The staff are so friendly & accommodating, happily let my daughter try a small amount of the creamed asparagus & puy lentil soup as she wasn't sure she'd like it. She loved it! & ordered it. I tasted it & delicious! My Borscht (Ukrainian beetroot & veg soup) was as delicious this time as it was the first time. So homemade, fresh & healthy. The homemade bread had a crumbly lightness it was so fresh. 1 slice was enough though. All filling! One of our favourite cafés in Bangor. The dirty chai lattes were very nice too! Highly recommend.

Absolutely a gem of a cafe! The food is absolutely amazing and all vegetarian friendly which is brilliant. The cakes are the best cakes I've ever eaten, I highly recommend the zebra cake and the cherry chocolate. Service is always amazing and welcoming with a friendly smile! AMAZING vegetarian cafe Svets vegetarian/ vegan soups, which are made daily, are delicious and feel truly authentic. Dale's cakes are to die for, and prepared daily too. He makes gluten free and vegan options too !! The coffee is one of my favourites in Bangor and the tea selection is magnificent

Love coming here - there's always a cake to suit everyone, the wide range of drinks means that you can always find something just right and if you're hungry, the mains are always filling and interesting. Dale and Svet are always welcoming and we really enjoy the music and atmosphere they create. Particular highlights for us are the Cuban espresso, espresso tonic, any of Svet's Napoleon cakes and any of the pasties, especially the Thai and cheese and onion. It is very easy to forget that everything is veggie or vegan.

This may be my favorite new coffee shop. The owners are so lovely and welcoming, the prices are very reasonable, the atmosphere is relaxing and warm, the music really good -- and the food, coffee, and desserts absolutely delicious. If you're in Bangor, don't miss out on this terrific shop.

What a fabulous find... a lovely little cafe with a very warm welcome. Has a wide range of quality loose leaf teas brewed to your liking, coffees and freshly made cakes in varieties you won't find in the average coffee shop. Cosy with a contemporary decor. Worth seeking out.

Everything you've read in the other reviews is true- The owners ARE lovely, the food IS extremely tasty, there IS a calm, relaxing atmosphere to the place, and I reckon Domu must be one of the best places to eat for miles around!

Beautiful place friendly staffing live the different food style

Such a great find! Came in with my mum a few days ago and the both the cake and the service was incredible. The cakes are made fresh and the selection of tea is superb. I’ll definitely be back to try the Dhal on my next trip 😁

Just popped in Bangor looking for an outdoor shop. Despite the disappointment in this front, this coffee shop stands out as an oasis in the general sense of dilapidation. I had a decaf americano and slice of carrot cake. The former was excellent for a decaf coffee - it actually tastes like coffee in contrast to Costa's brown hot water. The carrot cake was soft and most with loads of seeds - it felt like a nutrient boost! The staff were very friendly and the place was very well presented. Definitely somewhere to enjoy coffee and cake if you're ever in Bangor.

We popped into Domu for late afternoon food myself my husband and our son who recommended this cafe to us. The vegan food is outstanding the Dahl curry and rice was so good and filling as was all our meals. We slso had ice teas which were very refreshing. The couple that run it were welcoming and friendly nothing was too much trouble, I will be returning next time I'm in Bangor. Cafes and owners could learn a thing or two from this couple, good honest vegan food at very reasonable prices .

Unexpected find. Could have eaten everything on the menu but settled for Borscht and Creamed Stilton, broccoli, pear and pea. Both delicious. Cake selection amazing. Highly recommend.

Hidden Gem. Fantastic selection of teas and quite possibly the best cakes I’ve ever had in a coffee shop. The lunch was fantastic too, simple home cooked food done to a very high standard. Really impressed and highly recommend.

Popped in here last week. A cold miserable day and needed something good. Never had a Ukrainian borscht and Im glad I did. The cake looked fab but went for the borscht instead and a tea. So I could not really spot ANY beetroot in it tbh BUT my goodness, what a gorgeous meal. Served with two slices of thick wholesome bread and the tea..it has been DECADES since I had loose leaf tea...proper fancy..:) Divine food.
