DOMO Japanese Cuisine in Harrogate

Some of the best Japanese food we’ve had in the area. Great veggie options - the gyoza are delicious, as is the vegetable katsu curry! The only downside was the somewhat stressful atmosphere, especially as we were sitting by the counter.

I had never eaten sushi prior to this occasion, so my boyfriend and I happened upon this lovely restaurant in the heart of Harrogate. We tried pretty much everything on the sushi menu and every dish tasted divine and was presented beautifully. Such a fantastic first experience of Japanese cuisine. I can't wait to bring the rest of the family here. Please visit this little gem, will definitely be back!!!

Stumbled across this little place while out for a walk and decided to try it that evening. Managed to book a table no issues mid week although we probably could have walked in off the street. Chose a selection of sushi, honey ribs, a salmon teriyaki dish and bbq pork with rice and all of it was delicious. Service was quick and they had a good choice of Japanese beers. Finished the evening off with a mochi dessert which was usual but tasty. The staff were super friendly and chatty and made us feel quite welcome. We enjoyed it so much that we’re planning a return in the next few days.

Wonderful experience, really tasty food! We had a table for 6 ages 12-38 at 5pm, it was nice and quiet at that time, the food arrived as it was ready and very hot! Everyone enjoyed their meals and the staff were lovely 👍

Really amazing! Super tasty and not just for sushi lovers... I dragged my husband along who is not a fan and he loved the selections we made; tempura wasabi prawns and soft shell crab to start (he's not a fan of wasabi and loved the prawns, so a win!) and then some amazing noodles and 2 other dishes for main, along with a couple of Japanese beers each. The flavours, quality and service were all outstanding - fresh prawns and really cannot fault anything... fabulous and we'll be back. Happy to recommend. Thank you.

A small, tucked away Japanese restaurant with attentive and super friendly staff with delicious choices of foods. We had quite the selection and it went down a treat! Would recommend and if we venture to Harrogate again, we will make sure to revisit.

We read a few reviews online prior to our visit and the ones we read were all very good so we decided to give it a go. It was my partners birthday so we went on the Thursday night. It wasn’t too busy but had a decent amount of people in already. The hostess was very friendly and came to us immediately and showed us to our seats. She handed us the menu and explained a few things and gave us time to look and make our own choice for the food we wanted. When it came it was very delicious and we was very impressed with the speed in which it arrived The staff were very friendly and were very helpful I would highly recommend this restaurant

First time visiting this amazing restaurant and it certainly won't be the last! The staff couldn't have been more friendly and gave great recommendations as to what to order. Our favourites included the Spicy Tuna roll and the Pork Ramen. Can't wait to go back when we are next in Harrogate 😍

We went for lunch during a romantic weekend in Harrogate. We came here for lunch and were not disappointed! Lisa served us and she went out of her way to explain the munu options and we picked the Bento boxes. I chose the teriyaki beef and my partner chose the chicken. We went at the right time because it soon became busy and every table was full. The miso soup arrived first and the flavour of this little bowl was incredible. The bento boxes came next and not only duid they look incredible each item was beautifully cooked and so full of flavour. We washed it down with a really nice chardonnay that matched the food perfectly. We finished off with a scoop of match ice cream which was subtle and a lovely end to the meal. I can't rate the service from Lisa and the food highly enough. We will definitely visit next time we are in the area. Fantastic place! Five stars 🌟

We had a very nice time here. The sushi was good, but not amazing. Certainly the best we could hope for up here in the North! The staff were wonderful and the menu had many non-sushi options too that we didn't try this time. We'll certainly go back to try out some other things.

Really good Japanese food, some of the best I've had in the UK outside big cities, at surprisingly reasonable prices. Broad variety, including tasty sushi and yakitori. The cosy interior is done up beautifully like a little izakaya. Staff are friendly and call out "irrashaimase!" When you enter, which really helps with the ambiance. Sometimes it's a little understaffed for how popular it gets at peak hours, so service can be slow. One of my favourite places to eat out for a treat in Harrogate.

The most authentic Japanese food outside of Japan

A small and popular restaurant, serving very good food and with very friendly service. We also thought it was good value. The only thing to note is that some dishes that would be dairy-free in Japan do contain, or may contain, dairy in this restaurant. The staff were able to advise us as to what we could have, and I chose ramen that I couldn't have at Wagamamas the night before (only went there because Domo was full) because their version did contain dairy.

This lovely little Japanese restaurant is tucked away in a cute alley of Harrogate. The food and service are superb. We ate with our kids who the staff were extremely accommodating towards, and who they encouraged to be adventurous! My son described the Salmon Nigri as “like eating silk”!!

The food here is delicious, wonderful quality sashimi! The service is great, the menus are clear and extensive. The atmosphere was slow at the start but it got busy around 8pm. One of our dishes was slow to arrive, but they gave us complementary miso soup to make up for it! What wonderful service. Can't wait to come again!

Not the best experience. Food is just about average, it's OK. I went there on a date. I found it a little strange that staff members made strange comments to the person I was with on a date about me when I went to the toilet, which we both found very odd. Bathroom is pretty grim. Interior needs a lot of work. I won't be coming back and I can't recommend this place sadly, even though I wanted to like it.

First time here and will definitely be back. Great menu ( was jealous when we saw one table order a sushi 🍣 bridge) - and nice atmosphere. Not expensive either. Loved it.

Forever in search of the perfect Sushi after living in Australia where the sushi is super fresh and plentiful. Domo hits the spot. Lovely atmosphere, really fast and fresh food. I love how it comes out dish by dish as it's ready so nothing is sat waiting, it's all made to order. We're now regulars.

Absolutely fantastic Japanese fusion cuisine, every dish is fantastic and the lunch menu is a bargain. I have been in this restaurant several times and it is a fantastic experience every time.

I've been here twice. My partner and I had their Edamame for starter, Alaska and California Maki. They were delicious! Obviously, we went back for their Beef Raamen and Char Siu Ramen. The ramen portion was big enough that neither of us could finish the whole thing! The service was excellent too.

My all time favourite date night spot in Harrogate! We save up all month to have a stunning meal here every pay day and I love it more and more every single time. Amazing food! 3 of us shared 2 mains and 3 sides was perfect, Sushi was delicious really flavourful. Tempura was best we've ever tried and it was really interesting trying mochi for the first time. Never knew dishes could have so much flavour genuinely perfect can't fault the food or the lovely service and atmosphere

Food is OK, the overall expectation was higher but overall it was OK.

Popped in without a booking on a Friday night but was still able to find a table. We chose to sit outside due to the nice weather which added perfectly to the atmosphere. Our waitress was super friendly and chatty and made us feel very welcome. We were also provided with some great recommendations for what to pick. Would advise you try a little bit of everything and I will definitely be returning soon :).
