Food was OK, seemed a bit greasy for a fish and chip shop which is saying something. However the kebab was very nice and well balanced flavour

The best I’ve ever tasted 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 the chicken burgers are the best and I would deffo recommend this food business to other people it is the place to go for breakfast dinner and breakfast I am allways coming here for food and I will never stop

We walked in and ordered for 8 people Kebabs, Wraps and Fish and chips, we recieved excellent service from a friendly man and lady. We got home and everyone enjoyed the food, the Fish was amazing and the Kebabs a lovley flavour with fresh salad and nice chilli sauce. Thank you Dave & Family

Worse fish and chip meal we have had and possibly most expensive takeaway. Spent all night awake with terrible heartburn even though we threw away most of the batter. Chips were awful more like scrap end bits of potato.

So this place is an absolute diamond We had a diamond wedding anniversary celebration and the venue had a power cut. This fish and chop shop cooked us over 40 portions in under 2 hrs notice. Each portion was absolutely delicious. Most guests said it was the best fish and chips they’d had. The fish was beautiful really white the batter was light and the chips fluffy on the inside. These guys were quite simply amazing and we can’t recommend them highly enough

Best fish and chips that we have had for years. Very fresh taste, lovely light batter, not at all 'greasy'. Delightful, friendly service. Only other comment- very large portion, 5 adults couldn't finish 3 portions of chips.

Terrible shop. Would give them 0 stars if possible. So rude to their customers. I requested no batter on my fish which is what they always do for me, they refused it this time. Said they’re “too busy”. Quite frankly I reckon they just couldn’t be bothered. I’m allergic to the batter and can not have it. And the fact they don’t cater for allergies because they’re “too busy” is disgusting. ALSO, they don’t wear masks. No screens up, nothing. Avoid this place at all costs

Savaloy was cold and the chips were hot on the outside and cold inside dont even waste your money eating from here

The portions of chips are huge, 1 will easily feed 2 people, unfortunately they didn't taste good and where soggy and undercooked. The battered sausage was the worst I've ever eaten, absolutely no taste to it at all. Such a shame as the staff are lovely.

I have had fish & chips form many place, this was one of the better experiences. The large portion of cob & Chips is LARG! Highly recommended!

These guys do a very good fish and chips (esp Haddock) It is our once-a-month treat.... Not tried their kebabs yet but certainly intend to.

Usually get my fish and chips from Fishers Food mobile, but as they are on holiday thought I would try the Dolphin as this had been recommended to me previously. I love plaice and ordered this with small chips. Very impressed with the size of the plaice - it was HUGE - I would say the same size as the jumbo plaice from Fishers (£9.50) compared to £6.50 from Dolphin. The 'small' chips was a generous portion to say the least and were freshly cooked. Friendly staff and spotlessly clean premises. As you can eat in (bring your own cutlery, although I was provided with a plastic fork) I will DEFINITELY be using the Dolphin again. YUMMMMMMMM..............

Recently moved back to the area and this chippy has become our new guilty pleasure. Chips are always fresh and delicious, portions are generous, and the staff are very friendly. I’d recommend the sausages, chicken nuggets and fish. And if you’re hankering for a kebab, they do them too - also great.

Dolphin Fish and Chips got us Hook Line and Sinker! Massive portions. Fantastic prices. Hit the spot and best of all extremely tasty, well cooked fish. The Hubs got the large haddock and chips with a battered sausages whilst I got the large cod and chips with the battered sausage. Everything was spot on and the portions were generous. I felt sad I couldn’t finish mine and we couldn’t eat for the rest of the day! Would highly recommend & dreaming of the day we can come back again. Top Tip : get the burger sauce to go with your chips! EBI : Skan would recommend going for your own ketchup and mayo (Heinz and Hellman’s all the way baby)!

Best chips that I have had in a long time. Fish was well cooked and very tasty. Portion size was a little too much but better than not being enough.

Went to Dolphin for fish and chips and noticed they also did what looked to be rather nice looking kebabs. Lamb shish and chicken. It was very tasty indeed. As I waited for the kebab to cook I got to see a fair few orders of fish being prepared and they all looked great, so great that I had to order a portion of their rather lovely looking chips. I must say they were probably the best chips I've tasted in years and drew us to return a week later to order again. I, this time, went for the rock salmon and chips which was huge but still went for the mushy peas and gherkin. My other half got a very nice battered sausage and chips which I had a bite of and it too was great. The only problem we experienced was the lack of mushy peas and gherkin which was absent from our order when we got home. We were not put off by the lack of items from our order and again returned the following week for more fish and chips. I ordered cod and chips and my other half the same again. Also with mushy peas and gherkin. Once again on arriving home I find that there is something missing and unfortunately, this time, it was an essential part of the meal, the battered sausage. This meant, to avoid a meal of just chips, we had to prepare something else to have with it. We live around a 15 minute drive away which is just a little too far to return. As with all fish and chip shops, the meal is normally wrapped up in layers of paper and then put into a bag which is tied making it very difficult to check the order without unpacking it. The last time we were presented with our order we were sure to listen to the chap announcing it's contents and sure enough it was correct. Such a shame as my food was great, if not a little cooler than I would have liked after preparing something to go with my pregnant other halfs chips. I did call the shop to inform them of our missing items and they were kind enough to offer me a free battered sausage on my next visit which I will definitely remind them of as they are very tasty indeed. Regardless of the missing items we will return to Dolphin and what we had of our meals was still huge enough to not be able to finish even though it was so tasty. Great value for money too.

Bought large F&C today - very, very good. Great quality, freshly cooked, tasty & filling.Would have been nice to get brown sauce (not available 😪) but tomato ketchup was. If I'm on the area I will definitely return. Recommended.

It so nice and it under new management, how things are cook are pretty good in my case I been with them for sometime now after new change and I find this fish and chips one of the best but that is my opinion I love the chips and the best chicken burger so yummy and very filling.

Definitely the best chip/kebab shop in dorking service is polite and friendly, chips from here are excellent again you would not find better in town, salad on kebab is super fresh.. the kebab meat is tender... I can honestly say it's on par with perfect 🙂😋👈

Went in after work to get some dinner as I'm at work for 12 hours and wanted something quick and someplace new. Walk in to be told they are closed, why have the door wide open with the open sign up? Also considering that your door signs says you close at 10, if you plan on closing early don't leave everything open, turn some of the lights down, let people know that you are closing early. It's not rocket science.

Never mind the worse chip shop in Dorking, could this be the worse chip shop in the world?!!!! Absolutely atrocious, they’ve taken the very word ‘chip’ to the extreme as you can see in the photo; dry, crisp thin, probably reheated 100 x over, completely tasteless! Even with salt and vinegar. I imagine the only customers they have soon will be the hungry exceedingly low expectations of the school children who pass by on their way home. This will definitely be my first and last visit!

Only Raiting The Fish n Chips as this is all we had. The service here was nothing out of the norm, causally polite and friendly. We ordered 2x Cod and 2x Chips, the wait was about 10-15mins. its was fairly busy... The smell in the car was Amazing, i couldn't wait to tuck in. The portion was massive. The fish was huge as was the amount or chips. This is by far one of the best bits of fish i have ever eaten.. Crispy, light and the fish was perfect!! I will be going back!!

The worst kebab I've ever had. Young lad at the till was utterly obnoxious and arrogant. He was barking orders at a female coworker and clicking his fingers at her. Bad customer service. You ask for salad with your meal and get half a box of onion, so by the time you're home and try to pick it out you have to throw away the entire salad and the rest of your meal tastes of onion. The shop on the high st is far better.

I’ve eaten in some fancy places in my life, even had fish & chips in some high end places! But this little family run take away was up there with the best, tucked away in the back streets of dorking what w little find, I remember stopping here with my dad one rainy dad to get some chips which we sat in his van and enjoyed, I lost my dad a few years ago, so when driving past this time I wanted to stop for the memory, with my family, anyway it didn’t disappoint, we got a takeaway of fish & chips, it was the lightest crispy batter and oil free crispy chips, served hot and freshly cooked, by friendly staff, this place is very clean, it does many options for food, kebabs, burgers and so on, but I can recommend the fish & chips. Make a point of having a drive there, you won’t be disappointed... ok so you have to sit in the car if you live to far to take it home, but it comes nicely boxed for easy eating. A little memory brought me back here but I be back again. Your fish and chips is restaurant worthy that’s for sure. 10/10

Have frequently bought a large portion of chips from this fish and chip shop on a Saturday evening on the way home. In the last couple of weeks with a new lad serving the large portion has shrunk considerably. Might be time for a change.

I wanted to wait a while before I gave them a review but having been to this place twice within the last week I have to share my excitement for this place. The portions here are so generous and the lamb doner meat is the best I've found in Dorking. Their chips are also really tasty. Can't wait to go back.

First time trying this shop as our usual shop was closed. Ordered kids fish meal, 2x medium fish and chips and one large fish and chips. Unfortunately after i drove 7 miles home i found that the large fish and chips was missing. This ruined my family's dinner and i will never go here again even though what we did get tasted nice and the staff did seem friendly but slightly chaotic.
