Dolans Restaurant in Strabane

Would give this place a thumbs down not only was the food portions awful half of the order was missing the chicken burger was something you would buy out of asdas frozen department. And what's up with adding a tax to your bill have we moved to America. Not worth the money especially now that eating out is expensive and a luxury now a days with the cost of living I suppose the tax on your bill has to cover the cost as of the refurbished I won't be going back as just terrible.

Absolutely ridiculous service. One staff member you states as soon as we went in ; I’m run off my feet!!! Waited and nothing happened! Walked out

When we walked in the door it just looked a mess, the girl put us sitting at a dirty table and eventually came back and as she was cleaning it she cleaned the food on to us omg, it was just a total mess, staff very friendly but under to much pressure needs management.

Best Breakfast in town. Great staff and good prices. Get Breakfast here regularly and it is always on point.

Very poor. Food quality was not good. Very cheap burgers and steak. Very little flavour of the food and a lot of the mains do not come served with chips so you have to order and pay extra. Would not return.

AWFUL. Had to ask to food in a quiet period. Ordered carefully but got food completely wrong, extras that we didn’t order to them be charged for them. The food was awful taste, not acceptable, eaten in here regularly in the past but will not be back! Told staff it was the worst unbeatable food, to receive an apology only! Your standards have dropped unimpressively and your staff need to listen and react to complaints, an apology is not acceptable when you fully charge fir bad food! Would NOT RECOMMEND!

I went in for lunch with my boyfriend. We waited over 30 mins to be served. We asked the girl who was attending us why we were waiting so long and she reluctantly said she would go and check. She never came back. It wasn't even mad busy.. By her body language and the look on her face she didn't want to be there. Her hair was tied back but a big part of her fringe coming down by the side of her face. Hair should be away from food!!! I was sorry I didn't get her name but had a small tattoo on her neck. Very disappointed in what looked like such a beautiful place.

The Staff were hugely under pressure but we're, freindly and helpful. There were only 2 staff on and a lass from the kitchen pulled in to help. They deserve triple payment for how hard they worked today. They still had smiles on and looked after customers. They are a credit to themselves and Dolan's. Customers please remember to comply with government regulations. Those poor lassies had enough miles clocked up without chasing after people who seated themselves without registering. Fair play to them, even though they had to walk extra miles, they recorded all details. Food was also delicious. See you soon again. Hope your lovley staff get a chance to put their feet up tonight. 💖

Ordered a takeaway from the restaurant for a family gathering would say it’s the worse food we have ever had. Chips were cold and not cooked, just thrown into brown paper without bagged like in other takeaways. Safe to say I won’t be back!

Got food here this morning, we waited 20 minutes to be attended to, then waited 45 minutes for a starter that never came whilst two people at our table had there food. Three tables came and went in between this waiting time, only for us to finally ask for our main dishes as our friends were almost done their mains, whom also thought the food quality was well below saleable. The main dishes were twice as bad, the beef was full of fat and incurable and the vegetables were frozen and undercooked, explained this to the waiting staff who did not seem bothered by any of this and proceeded to charge full Wack for inedible food. Only good thing was the coffee. Will never recommend this place or come back. Sorry.

Awful service and awful food! Staff were very Slow taking orders while the restaurant wasn’t busy overall the table was noticeably dirty& staff hadn’t the brains to give it a quick wipe let alone with everything going on the table should’ve definitely been sanitised, never offered any salt, pepper, vinegar or sauces we had also asked for an extra side of curry was not given it but was added to our bill. Burger Bun was wet/soggy and not eatable and gravy was so lumpy. I had Told the waitress wile I was paying and she never seemed bothered at all about it. Staff are very rude not welcoming at all for a restaurant that has just been refurbished . After all this staff wasn’t phased at all nor did staff apologise or try make things right. We were still charged full price for everything, absolutely shocking and we’re very Disappointed and won’t be back. Would not recommend to anyone.

Not bad not great its only real attraction is it's a sit in chippy at restaurant prices got to be expensive for wat u get

Place is mainly just a chippy and average at best they used to do good breakfast but standard has slipped

We stopped at Dolans on Friday the 2nd Aug after a day trip in Donegal , I had fish and chips , son had a kabab and chips and daughter had salad and fish it was all very good , the young girl who served us was so friendly and very pleasant

Everything under one roof for great night out. As I live in Limerick this is where we eat and socialize a lot . There is an extensive menu to choose from with something to suit all tastes . My favorites Fish & Chips or the Irish Stew which I have before attending one of the many gigs that are in The Warehouse or upstairs venue . Irish music in the bar every night . Staff so efficient and friendly.

Brilliant place to go to get everything that youd want. Dolans chips are amazing and have been since i was a kid and thats wasnt today or yesterday. Definetly a place to take the family or even just on your own

we stopped here for something to eat food was ok basic but ok everything was well cooked staff are friendly and helpful it is more like a truckers place to eat not for fine dining

We called in for Sunday lunch at 3.30 but was all finished up so the lovely girl with blonde hair got us a table for 3 who was so nice ...so the 3 of us decided we would have chicken ham and stuffing with creamed mash ...chips and onion rings...WELL I HAVE TO SAY IT WAS THE WORST I HAVE EVER EATEN The chicken breast was boiled no taste at all.. the mash was all lumps the gravy was all big lumps And the onions rings was battered skin from the outside of the onion...this day and age this food should not of been served or is there no manager or owner there to see what they r dishing out... we payed for our meal and then complained as we would not want anyone to say we wanted a free meal...we brought the chicken home in a container and our dogs would not even eat it ....NEVER AGAIN GET YOUR ACTS TOGETHER

Had breakfast hear today and its hospital food served by prison wardens how hard is it to fill a cup of coffee and obviously the food is not cooked to order but do everyone a favour and make sure its warm never before have I had to eat cold beans will never ever return

Ordered breakfast asked for no bacon on it. . Got bacon and soda bread burnt black raw tomatoe no toast no sugar for tea etc charged for it all even after complaining

Good place to stop for food anytime of the day. Good service too and good menu! Sunday dinners are hard to beat

Called here for dinner with the family (2adults 2children) on a Saturday night. Great selection of food on the menu. Really good quality and good portion size of food. Waitress was really friendly and helpful. Definitely will return. Good value for money.

Ordered something as simple as a Chicken and bacon burger and chips and couldn't even do that decently. Compared to other lovely restaurants in the town their prices were high so I thought the food would be good. Chicken burger was 3/4 batter, I've gotten far greater in chip shops. The chips were raw and white. They charge crazy prices for sides separately which I only found out when I went to pay as usually you get a main with a side. Definitely won't be back.

Love this place to take the family on a Saturday lunchtime. It has an old fashioned roadside cafe feel to it which I love.

Never ate in the restaurant but go there for petrol & visit the shop on a regular basis so decided on coming back from our holiday we would change our leftover euro back into sterling & i've never met a more ignorant guy behind a screen in all my life! I told him what the exchange rate was for everywhere else i priced that day & his response was "well i'm not giving it to you so you may go to the guy down the Road" (beside exhaust centre) which I did & what a nice guy he was too... Manners dont cost a thing!!!

Because they are probably better than the rest of the menu: the toasties are uninspiring, the plaice, which is coated (not mentioned in the menu), is obviously retrieved from the freezer and microwaved upon ordering and the coleslaw tastes like it was delivered by a lorry in a large plastic tub (It's not that hard to make coleslaw which is a world apart from this horrible stuff filled with preservatives). Service good.

Best restaurant in the area. great menu and lovely helpful staff. open from early till late do a great lunch daily, and a special lunch on Sundays [which includes a glass of wine ]

The fish is lovely but someone needs to teach them how to cook chips! They're always undercooked (white) and not crispy the way chips should be! The fillings in the Panini's are also very scarce!

My wife and I decided to call in here for an afternoon meal. I ordered Chicken and chips with peas and gravy.My wife had an American burger with chips, and I ordered tea bread and butter for two.The tea came almost immediately and was followed about 15mins later by my meal. My wife`s meal came about 5mins later. After about 5mins, I asked my Wife if her meal was ok, were she told me it wasn't great. I took a taste of the burger and found it to be completely cold. I called the waitress and informed her and she took it away. After a further 5 mins she returned with a new burger, which was again cold. We decided to call it a day and we paid the bill and left, it definitely wasn't worth £18!!! we will NEVER eat here again!!

My experience of this restaurant was so bad that I was not sure if the previous reviewers were talking about the same place. But they are! I don't get it! I normally find that I agree with most of the reviews I read but this time, I am puzzled. We stopped there on our way to Donegal. The place was NOT clean, the service was NOT friendly and the food was NOT good at all! The toilets were bad, the floor of the restaurant was dirty, our table had not been cleaned properly, and the waitresses ignored us most of the time. And I have been put off chicken burgers for life! I do regret that I didn't complain, but the truth is, I felt this would have been a total waste of time and we could not wait to get out as fast as we could. Advice if like us, you are driving by, very hungry and may be tempted to give it a try : DRIVE ON!

Service was friendly and the food was good . Staff were polite and helpful . If you want a nice meal then I would recommend Dolans.

Needing something quick to eat between home and work we decided to stop here and give it a try. We definitely weren't disappointed. Great wee restaurant for your usual menu food. Everything from soup to sandwiches etc. Place was EXTREMELY clean and tidy which is a credit to their workers. Quick friendly service and the bill was so cheap we thought they forgot something. Definitely will be back again.

Have eaten in here quite a few times, usually for breakfast. Called in on Easter Sunday on the way through to Co. Donegal and they were serving Sunday lunch.Had a fantastic Sunday dinner, for starters I had egg mayonaisse which was a meal on its own, my wife had similar, for mains my wife had lamb and I went for the roast beef, both served with roast potatoes, great mix of veg and more mash potatoes than we could eat.The staff were friendly and efficient considering they were very busy and it certainly seemed to be the place where a lot of local folk go for Sunday lunch as a few were on first name terms with the staff. Really is a roadside truckers cafe type of place but would put some restaurants to shame. Price was as expected from a cafe but service and quality of food was as per a restaurant. Would recommend a visit (or two).

Great food, great service, especially if you need a bite in a hurry. Staff are either highly trained or maybe local girls are just ultra friendly and efficient.It's a pleasure to eat here and when you are served by Ciara it's an even greater pleasure.OK, it's not the Hilton Hotel and maybe a paint job is due but you wouldn't get better food or friendlier service in a five star hotel.....

My family were all heading to a wedding and the meal was not until late in the evening, so we decided to stop of here for something to eat to get us through the long day. And we weren't disappointed. There was a large number of us but staff got us all in and looked after us all. Food was great. The all day breakfast hit the spot. Will def return.

Eat here quite often, would say it is a mix of a cafe & restaurant. Food is good, plenty of it and good prices. And service is normally very good.Could benefit from a complete refurbishment to give it more of a restaurant feel as it has more of a diner look.

This Restaurant does not look like much from the outside, and could do with a makeover on the inside also, but is always clean. We go here often for Sunday lunch and it excellent and very good value the staff are always helpful, the main main served every day is also good as well, they have a Take away area also though i as yet not tried meals from it other than the Sunday lunch on one occasion and it was as good the food served when eating in.
