Carers really take pride in the care/support/training they provide to their 4-legged charges. Everything they told me about my adopted dog was accurate & the pack they provided was helpful. Just one thing my boy cost less than £90 but the cost is now £250ish. I hope that there is some flexibility for people with limited means? Nevertheless, DT is a very valuable and worthy charity to support.

You can't do that, done look at the dog etc etc. How stupid.. I would understand if there's a sign saying so. How are you supposed to see a beautiful animal at its level, look into it's eyes.. ..

I am absolutely DISHEARTENED by this dog shelter and how innocent dogs and puppies are treated, my friend went to prison a few months ago and her dog was sent to this exact shelter and I only found out recently about it, i wanted to foster her dog while she was in prison while the shelter has claimed that nobody else would, I only found out today from my husband that the dog was euthanised to make room for incoming dogs, which is a terrible excuse to euthanise someone’s pet, i do not know how I am going to tell my friend that her own dog is dead, in fact, she is coming out of prison on Christmas because she was accused of a crime she didn’t do, Kill shelters are absolutely DISGUSTING and I hope his place shuts down, May Skaya rest in peace.

Me and my family have been coming here for years and have always found Harefield Dogs Trust lovely and in particular the staff members always friendly and polite. However there has been multiple occassions now when a particular member of staff has been extremely rude and also telling us we cannot interact to the dogs behind the glass ie: crouching down or even saying hello and showing interest in them despite other staff members allowing us and other members of the public to do so. I can understand if there is a sign up but please make this more clear. How are you meant to get to know your future dog by not getting down to its level. This has now unfortunately put us off coming here for the foreseeable. Just wanted to say thank you to the other staff for being so polite.

All was going well until last meeting when Left hand didn't seem to know what right hand was doing. We were told no home visit was needed not by on but but 3 members of staff there i confirmed this with them twice even. So all arrangements were made with rest of family to be there for pick up and coming home. Days were booked of from work and even an extra visit arrange for daughter to meet our new rescue friend before he could come home. All excited. Today i get a call to say they need to do a home visit first (which i agree is a good thing) and the original day booked for picking up our dog is not a day that dogs ever go home on!!! Don't get me wrong i love Dogs Trust and they do a fabulous job and this is our 4th rescue dog and Basildon were excellent, i just wish the staff at Harefield communicated with each other better so silly things like this didn't happen. We have hopefully re-arrange now for a pick up on 24th which took most of the day for all of us to changed leave from work. Fingers crossed and a word of warning to all triple check No home visits are needed and don't go for a Thursday pick up. It will all be worth it though to give this poor fella a loving home with our other rescue the lovely Merlin

The staff is just amazing, so polite and professional and friendly. I got to see one of the people in action with the dog, they're just so good! Extremely undertrained and undereducated staff, absolutely no attempt to train dogs, and no ability to handle them - let out only twice a day! Completely ignored several emails asking for medical info to register with a vet, acted like signs of hip displacia were no issue whatsoever and couldn't even identify it themselves. Watched TWO of their staff get dragged along to my dog by the Alsatian I was looking to adopt, because they couldn't control it, to then be told the two couldn't get along was ludicrous. What on earth was expected in that scenario? Dog's Trust need to start employing properly qualified individuals who understand the calm environments dogs should be introduced together in. The dark haired women in particular who dealt with Zena's meeting at 2pm today should never be allowed around Alsatians again - because that dog and others will continue to suffer if no-one starts to help them properly, or at least teaches the staff how to start doing it Will be writing a letter to head office about dog introduction procedures and ensuring staff are properly trained to handle such situations. You should NEVER leave a customer in the position of being the only one capable of controlling a dog, and having to split up potential issues themselves. I will never use the Dog's Trust again, and would never consider donating again out of sheer shock at how poorly both adoptions and animal care are handled. I feel so bad for the dog...

I knew I would never get a call back regarding any enquiries I make. I met all the requirements to rehome a dog...I work from hone, not many people at the house, got a good size garden, no money issues and would never leave the dog alone as I am self employed and work from home. I got the impression they is a racial undertone to how they behave. Not sure why but normally I can sense this . Shame really as who knows what happened to the dog I wanted to adopt Ended up buy two dogs and have have them for 3 years.

Amazing staff doing an incredible job! The dogs' welfare is paramount and the people we spoke to or met during the process of adoption are expert, compassionate and professional. We were allowed to visit our furry adoptee at the kennels despite it being lock-down, because she was showing signs of severe stress and needed re-homing as soon as possible. All COVID precautions were taken and we stayed outside to meet our new friend, having fun in the snow. The application process was conducted via zoom and we had lots of discussion about our girl's needs and what to expect. The preparation videos and information to help guide the process have been really helpful, as it is a long time since we last had a young rescue dog. Aftercare advice and training will continue as long as needed and the Trust stay in contact to ensure the dog is well cared for. Adopting a rescued dog and helping them settle into family routine will inevitably bring challenges and is not one to be taken lightly, but if you are able to give a dog the patience and time it takes for a second chance at a lovely life, then Dogs Trust are the people you want alongside.

Never been to the Dogs Trust in Harefield before, not even for tea... I went to donate some snugly newish hollow-fibre pillows/duvets for our 4-legged friends in need so mini sewn up bedding could be made up for warm Winter bedding. Then, I thought, whilst I am here I would go and say hello to the Dogs staying there waiting for new best friends, which simply just broke my heart, and then cried all the way round walking at speed.... 💔 Their whole demeanor looked fed up and deeply sad... THAT was been my reason for never going before! I am not in a position to have a lovely dog companion in my life but when I am in a position to, the Dogs" home is exactly the place I would go to adopt a lovely one for a new wonderful loving home....I'd have older dog or 2... they are often the ones who are forgotten by everyone 💙
