Very friendly. Not just dogs allowed but positively welcomed

Once again a delightful afternoon. Good food, good atmosphere and friendly staff.

For a supposed "Coffee House", the coffee is very poor. The sausage and bacon panini was also very low quality. "Freshly baked" is a stretch description for cheap par-baked baguette and bargain-basement 35% pork sausage. The cake was nice however, and the service very friendly, which (along with dog fandom) must be where this place gets its positive reviews. Unfortunately, there were many children running around the place playing with the dog toys for sale, spoiling the atmosphere. Avoid, other than for a friendly local piece of cake with your dog until they work on their coffee. Perhaps start by getting a real espresso machine!

A super friendly super cute cafe that specifically caters to canines-they have their own menu and everything! Service was great and we very much enjoyed our cakes and hot drinks too. It's ideal for anyone with or without a dog-it's a great place to say hello to lots of dogs which was very enjoyable

What an amazing place and even more so what an amazing owner, her ability to support you and your dog in a new environment is outstanding. She was able to support me with my anxiety of not knowing how my puppy would react with other dogs, the food looked delicious too. Next time I will definitely be sampling the food and cakes. Been going to the diner since Zoe was a pup fantastic place for dogs and owners to meet nice food for owners and dogs.Zoe loves going and meeting dogs of all shapes and sizes it really makes her day. Zoe had a doggie afternoon tea for her first birthday which it made it extra special for her Chris and Jess are always welcoming and friendly making dogs and owners welcome.This is a must go place if you like dogs.

Went for coffee and cake this afternoon. Lovely clean environment with no lingering doggy aroma. Great range of treats for dogs and amazing cakes. I tried the vegan lemon cake, hubby had raspberry ripple cake and both were demolished - by us, not the dog, who had her own pupcake cut up and in a slow feeder to extend her enjoyment ( as a lab food usually disappears rather quickly!) Fantastic service. Hope to return soon.

This was such a surprising treat. Took two doggos and the family, and we all had a lovely time. Food was well priced, tasty, abs the staff were so so friendly and welcoming. Thank you!

Friendly staff, good food and drink and superb service. Take your dog in and it will be warmly welcomed and spoiled. If you don't have a dog, you can get your dog fix by stroking and enquiring about other people's dogs. If you do t like dogs, or doggie people, go elsewhere.

Excellent cafe and as name suggests very dog friendly. I have yet to find a more friendly cafe for dogs. Food is good and the selection of cake is superb for humans. Dog cakes, sausages and treats are also available. Doggie toys, treats etc are also sold.

Honestly the best wee place and I’m gutted I don’t get to visit here nearly enough. Staff are beyond lovely, we’re always welcomed so warmly on each visit. Good food. Great choices for both humans and the pups. The dogs love it! Looking forward to attending some of the upcoming dog meets

Absolutely LOVE this wee gem of a place. Staff are so welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much or too little for them. Our girls adore meeting up with four legged friends and even have a puppy/doggie playpen for off the leash antics.

This is just the loveliest place to go. With or without dogs, you'll get the best professional and homely service.....and they LOVE dogs. Please pop in and enjoy the experience.

We are regulars at the diner of which we have been going since Oct 2018. Very friendly place. Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff. Variety of food and drink for humans and dogs. They do birthday parties for dogs. They sell a range of dog toys, coats, bandanas, treats and toiletries for dogs. Dine in or take out. They do Sunday morning walks that end up back at the diner. Would recommend.

Loverly staff and very welcoming to all. My dog loves to visit Jess ,Chris and the girls. We goon the social walks and they are fantastic my dog has so much fun playing with the her furry friends.

Good food and the owners were very lovely people who clearly love dogs! Menu quite basic but perfect.

We go here every week for the outstanding cakes. The menu for people is great and the menu for dogs is fantastic. Owners very friendly. Thoroughly recommend it even if you don’t have a dog!

Love it here! We live in Manchester but always try and make a special trip up to visit the doggie diner. The staff are amazing, so friendly and welcoming. And the food and cakes are outstanding! Also highly recommend the doggy afternoon tea, such a sweet treat for my little one. I just wish they would open a shop in Manchester! :-D

What a gem! We received a very warm welcome for our dog’s first birthday; we had reserved a table, which was dressed and decorated beautifully. Our whippet loved her doggie afternoon tea with her other four-legged friends! Staff were brilliant and the human food was good, too. I would definitely recommend!

This is such a great little place! I have been here a few times now with my Beagle, and cannot fault it. The food and drinks are great, I love that they have so many food/drink options for the dogs too, and it is very handy that there is a pen with toys in it to put your dog in if you need to, while you eat!

Brilliant! Our greyhound Florence was made incredibly welcome, we've never been to a dog friendly café like this. It was very much dogs first humans second and very much the better for it. Well make the diversion off the A1 next thing we're heading north! Oh the sausage panini and cube read good too 🤣

Came here with my dog Fudge he was a bit unsure at first but won over by cheese. Everyone was very friendly I had a lovely panini and Fudge enjoyed his sausage very much

We went today with our daughter who has special needs and our dog sassy everyone was lovey, staff and customers. The food was really nice and I would recommend it to everyone. Lovely friendly service 😁

We wanted a meal where our puppy would feel welcome also and found this hidden gem. We were made to feel welcome as we opened the door, Chris was very warm and friendly Eve was very attentive as we chose our food. The place is beautifully clean and well equipped, there is an excellent choice of food for both humans and dogs, you can even get a doggie afternoon tea. Our paninis were delicious with a lovely salad and coleslaw side, beautifully presented and the choice of cakes and deserts was amazing. We stayed for a second cuppa as we were so comfy and the customers were friendly and exchanging dog stories. Our puppy enjoyed his sausages and all dogs were given water at their table. We felt really special such was the service. There was an excellent selection of takeaway food and dog treats, you could also buy dog toys and coats so this place is the real deal. It was our first visit but certainly not the last. Thank you Chris for your hospitality we will certainly be back

I have to say this place is fantastic! The staff are so friendly and accommodating. The food is top notch. My dog loves going there for his sausage and cheese treat and of course the toys. Well worth a visit.

Lovely little cafe - our puppy felt so loved and special, it was an amazing time for her, and the staff were so friendly and thoughtful in looking after their customers. Hooman food and dog food alike was lovely, and Xena had the absolute time of her life. We will be coming back soon!

We picked up a lovely afternoon tea with selection box for Robbi. Lush.

Everytime we visit we are warmly welcomed by the owner who always has time for a chat. The food is good especially the cakes and very reasonably priced. Our 2 dogs love getting the sausages or bacon chopped up perfectly for them. They also cater for birthday parties for your dog. If you are looking for somewhere to take your dog whilst enjoying a coffee and a freshly cooked panini look no further.

Great dog cafe that does fantastic bacon sarnies for those of us that are owned by our pooches, always make a fuss of our hounds well worth a visit

Visited last week with my dog, this was his first outing to a pet friendly cafe. Brilliant. The staff are above helpful and friendly. The food is lovely, it was probably the best scone I have had to date (I have had a few). Prices very reasonable. Total recommend.

Why there aren't more of these places I do not know, but I am very happy that we made the trip to this one. Clean and smart environment, friendly staff, nice food and very reasonable prices. Will be back 🐶

We visited for the first time this week. The owner and staff are very welcoming. They have a great menu for your dog and humans . Nothing is an issue for them. Reasonable priced too

An amazing cafe to take your dog to, has a fantastic selection of foggy treats and toys along with the same for humans too, great tasting food and offers. The staff are faboulous, happy to help in any way they can. Love to go on a weekly basis as my dog and I love it!

This is a great place for people and dogs. My 14 1/2 year old retriever, Megan loves going down for her breakfast sausages. Coffee and cakes are all very nice for us humans too.

Nice cafe. Staff very friendly and they soon get to know you and your dog. Gorgeous cakes, cheese cake and tray bakes. Basic food menu like sandwiches and toasties. Hot and cold drinks. There is a little play pen for smaller dogs/ a few larger ones. Some dog toys and treats for sale. My dog loves the sausages and pup cakes and the fuss from the staff!

This place is a must when visiting Durham, with or without a dog. Lovely food, for both humans & your four legged friend, exceptional service & THE most relaxed atmosphere ever! It’s just like going to visit a good friend in their own home. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are all such lovely, friendly people. Such a wonderful hidden gem & definitely a fantastic place to stop off for a cuppa & cake after a long walk.

Arrived with my cockapoo who immediately knew it was her cafe and not mine. The staff looked after her and showed her around whilst I went to the loo. The coffe was lovely and the staff superb. The other visitors and dogs were quite seriously a class above other cafes, very friendly. I highly recommend this place for a coffee with your dog. Pippa had just the best time and it helped with her development.

Had a wonderful break in the Doggie Diner in Durham.The food for the humans was excellent - and the coffee was outstanding I must say. Great set up for the dogs as well, and really fun menu. The sausages were a real hit. Where I think that the place is the perfect spot is the hospitality. The service level is exceptional from the owner. Extremely engaging and ready to have a chat. Super value for money too and it is not hard to see why there are customers who return - some even without their dogs!!!Highly recommended!!

As always, superb cakes to be had here at reasonable prices. The pooch getting spoilt as per usual. Friendly and attentive staff towards us and our Harry. Well recommended. Good stock of toys and treats for your family furball. 11/10.
