Great local pub. Lovely selection of ales. Knowledgeable bar staff and relatively inexpensive. Food looked good too.

Dont normally leave reviews, but thought i should give a shout out for this special place..great staff and owners, made to feel supa welcome as a solo guy visiting sheffield. Amazing beers ( free house), great live music and dog friendly...what more could you ask for! Support your local!! Hope to be back again one day) 10/10

My twin brother Stephen and I visited The Dog & Partridge Pub as we were pub and bar hopping around this part of town and what a great find. Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, the interior is superb its so cosy, lovely decor and furnishings including a solid wood serving bar that dominates the main room, there's also plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, one of the standout features of this pub are the bird cage tables that look amazing, it's a fantastic pub ,its also a very historic pub ,a pub that dates from the late 18th century. We were here on a Tuesday afternoon, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the bar team, we had a study of their real ale's and we both opted to have Barnsley Brewery bitter, these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. My bitter was really good, cold,malty and consistent till the last sip,a really pleasant bitter that on a hot afternoon was just so refreshing..we both really enjoyed our bitters in here ,only stayed for the one each before moving on and for a first time visit to The Dog & Partridge Pub we were totally impressed. The Dog & Partridge Pub is easy to locate along Trippet Lane. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday 4pm till 11pm. Friday & Saturday, Midday till 11.30pm. Sunday, Midday till 10pm. A wonderful pub,most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

The Dog&Partridge on Trippet Lane is an historic pub that offers a fantastic food and drinks range and is one of the many pubs we visited on a three day city break to Sheffield. Housed in a traditional pub style building with an excellent exterior and enviting entrance.Opened in 1796 this superb multi-roomed pub has a really nice interior with a traditional pub look and many interesting features throughout the pubs interior with superb seating options throughout this pubs whole interior. It seemed that every pub we went in Sheffield got better and on our second day of a three day city break this was another superb pub.This ticked all the boxes for me as I like historic old pubs with an excellent range of cask ales. When here we had a bitter from Barnsley brewery an excellent local cask ale well served and really well priced for a pub of this quality. The Dog&Partridge is an excellent pub and is well worth visiting and is very easy to get to from West Street/Rockingham Street bus stop it's a minutes walk.(This is my first review of the Dog&Partridge) Opening Hours. Booked a table for drinks on a Saturday night. Very good Covid measures in place. Brilliant staff and definitely the best cocktails we've had in a long time. He even made us cocktails that weren't on the menu. Highly recommended.

First time out in town since lockdown and felt very safe here, the pub has everything organised - booked a table, screens at the bar, you order your drinks at the bar and then they are brought to your table, everywhere is spotless. Let's support are local pubs and help them get back on their feet.

The food is really good- they even have a vegan burger! Staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home. They have a gluten free beer too!

A great selection of ales and drinks with an amazing atmosphere and staff. A weekly visit for their Game Nights on Thursdays was an absolute must for me and my friends during our university studies. You are guaranteed to always feel welcome and have a great time at the Dog and Partridge. I could not recommend it highly enough!

We're blessed in Sheffield, with some amazing pubs, from chains and independents alike. However, it's really hard to go wrong with a trip to the Dog. An ever changing lineup of ales, a great selection of spirits and a good, solid menu. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is warm and the location is great. Two minutes from a tram stop but away from the madness that can be West Street. Is the looking for somewhere new to try, give it a go, you won't regret it!

Called in for food as dog friendly. I have weird allergy and staff were very helpful, even photographing the back of the packet for one of the items. Lovely food and nice atmosphere. Well done!

This evening I thought I’d give the all you can eat wing Wednesday for £10 a try. After reading good reviews I was very excited to sample the wings. However I have come away highly disappointed. There was only one barman (seemed to maybe be the manager?) who was extremely rude and made the atmosphere feel really unwelcoming. I waited 30mins for a small basket with around 8 tiny wings and a few frying chips that was undercooked and tasted very cheap. I had the buffalo wings sauce which was nice, tasted a bit similar to RedHot wings buffalo sauce but not as spicy. I was no where near full so I ordered a second basket, after all they were unlimited (please see attached picture) I had to wait another 30mins and the basket that arrived was absolutely diabolical! 2 wings and even fewer chips that was even more under cooked than the first basket. There seemed to be only one person in the kitchen, who was cooking the wings and also bringing them out which made the service horrendously slow. Far too long a wait for a service that is “unlimited” To have to wait over an hour for 2 small baskets is disgraceful. There was only a few people in, I dread to think what the service is like when it is packed. We have come out of an “unlimited” deal still feeling hungry. Don’t waste your time and money like we have tonight. There was a group of Irish dancers that came in and performed whilst I was there. Overall conclusion, you’re better paying 25p a wing at The Graduate or Cavendish for wing Wednesday! I will not be returning here ever again.

Best pub in Sheffield with the most welcoming owners. Amazing food too and you'll not get better Guinness anywhere in the city.

My absolute favourite proper pub in Sheffield. Incredible authentic Americana food. Wonderful drink selection both beers and spirits. Great staff and owners who never fail to make you feel like you belong there. From watching the World Cup games to after work drinks, will always be my first choice for somewhere safe, well priced and authentic.

Fab little pub, only called in for a drink, ended up playing darts (!!) and ordered buffalo wing & chicken straws just for a nibble. The chicken was delicious! Really tasty and succulent, will definitely go back to try some other food!!

Me gustaría considerarme un experto en ala haber estado en muchos restaurantes de ala de todo el mundo. Bueno, puedo haber encontrado mis alas favoritas en este pub. No solo la comida está muy bien de precio, pero es deliciosa. Perfecto crujiente en las alas y la selección de salsas era perfecta. A very nice local pub with friendly staff. Great drink selection, crisps and pork scratchings. Nice food especially all you can eat wings on Wednesday (5pm to 8:30pm) comes with chips too amazing! Great atmosphere and a dog friendly pub too.

Apareció en el comienzo de un sábado por la noche, pub estaba bien, el personal del bar era amable y la cerveza estaba bien, de las críticas que esperaba un poco más de elección en el departamento de cerveza y posiblemente algunas de las cervezas menos estándar. Es bueno para un trago rápido.

Yo estaba aquí en Viernes Santo, y, sin duda, mucho más tranquilo de lo que solía ser. Sólo había otro cliente cuando entramos, e incluso después de un par de horas, él sólo se han sumado otros 3 clientes. Sin duda no me importa, aunque estos días tranquila y tenía una agradable velada charlando con mis amigos. La cerveza era buena, y el servicio igual.

Home made food, good beer, friendly staff & locals . Absolutely fantastic scenery. Would highly recommend this peace of heaven to everyone. In fact it is worth going out of your way to make a memorable visit.

Arrived to meet a friend with my dog. Made very welcome immediately and bowl of water offered on arrival. Two more friends arrived later great bar, brilliant beer and perfect attitude to best friend.

My dad spent his 21st birthday here, and I started drinking here as a teenager. The interior has changed a bit, as has the music and beer, but it seems friendly enough, and the food is cheap.

nos alegramos mucho de haber encontrado este pub fabuloso. El ambiente es excelente. El pub es totalmente virgen y es como retroceder en el tiempo, a la época en que pubs realmente eran pubs. No hay plástico a la vista aquí, un boozer realmente tradicional. El propietario era realmente amable, servicial y estaremos encantados de asesorarle re su amplia selección de cervezas y vinos.

Had great tapas at this pub. Nicely cooked and presented. Great service at bar too. Was in Shefffield for the folk festival weekend and this was our favourite venue.

Si vas a el Crucible en Sheffield y quieres un sitio donde comer, este pub puede que sea justo el billete. Probamos la Peluca y Pen primero a 5 minutos a pie, elegante y lleno de jóvenes cócteles de beber tragos de abogados. Entramos en; otros 5 minutos ( lejos de la estación de tren de Sheffield) es el perro y la perdiz. No es elegante, moderno y elegante. No es especialmente cómoda, pero las tapas son excelentes. Tienes que esperar ya que la comida es preparada, porque éste no es un rápido-comida y microondas. Esta no es una cadena hotelera.El chef está orgulloso de sus preparativos;, vivió y trabajó en España y disfruta mucho alimentar sus huéspedes. Teníamos 6 tapas para compartir para nosotros dos. La quesadilla era especialmente buena y crujientes y sin embargo suculentos, todas las tapas preparados con ingredientes frescos. Fuimos tras una matinée, empezó a nuestra comida a las 6 de la tarde, y estábamos en la estación before 8 o'clock, repleto y satisfechos. Pruébalo.

Me encontré con unos amigos en el perro y la perdiz, tuvimos una gran comida preparada con ingredientes frescos a precios muy razonables. El personal era amable y muy acogedor, sin duda volveremos y recomiendo este lugar a mis amigos.

we visited this pub for the first time this weekend.I felt immediately at home had a good chat about beer with the guy behind the bar he recommended a beer that was truly outstanding albeit a little strong.the dJ played some excellent souls and funk I wish we had pubs like this where I live
