The Dog and Gun is a very special place to eat. The food is of a consistently high standard - beautiful flavours and combinations - using superb locally sourced ingredients. The service is perfect - welcoming, warm and friendly. We cannot praise the Dog and Gun, and all the staff who work there, enough! Thank you for another lovely evening.

I don't understand how this restaurant got a Michelin star. We got served a focaccia that was freezing cold like straight out of the fridge. Then the truffle ravioli was nice if you like the taste of truffle flavoured oil (I come from a truffle region and I can easily tell the different between real truffle taste and truffle flavoured oil). Same for the truffle chips, just truffle flavoured oil. The lamb was quite tought and undercooked . The consistency of the soufflé was good but it was far too sweet. I am being a bit critical here because I was expecting a Michelin star level restaurant and it was definitely not (I have done quite a few so I can speak from experience). Overall, it was a nice english pub meal but not more than that.

We recently (22nd Feb) visited the Dog and Gun for dinner whilst on holiday in the lakes and were greeted warmly by their front of house team. My partner is a vegetarian and they didn't actually have any vegetarian mains on their menu which we were suprised at considering its a michelin rated restaurant, however the team quickly offered one of the starters as a main (pasta). Bread and butter (lovely) were served to begin, we inhaled this within seconds as it was so good. We ordered the cheese souffle as a starter and it was fantastic! highly recommend. Maybe offer some more of that amazing bread with the souffle? Our mains were the trio of lamb for myself, which overall was very tasty albeit very salty. My wife had a egg raviolo with a mushroom ragu. To compensate for no Veg options on the main we were given a hispi cabbage, though really tasty, didnt really match the pasta as a main dish. To finish off the night we both had the apple tart with cinnimon icecream and a salted caramel sauce, which was intensly tasty. The cinnimon icecream was out of this world! the salted caramel was extremetly salted, which within the whole dish worked well but if you had too much in one mouthfull it overpowered everything. Overall I would say it was a great visit, we had a lovely evening in a beautiful pub with great staff! we particularly liked the chat about local hikes etc.

Great food, lovely relaxed atmosphere and really good value for money. The venison suet pudding and beetroot was outstanding!

4 of us visited for the first time. We were given a warm welcome to this very cozy pub. After cocktails we settled on the 9 course tasting menu. All was delivered across the course of 3 very relaxing hours by the lovely and friendly serving staff. Absolutely superb and considering the michelin star was extremely good value. We will return.

We had an outstanding and memorable meal here with our family. I have seen a recent review suggesting that this place is not worth a star. Whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I say this respectfully, I couldn’t disagree more. Yes it is a (nice) pub rather than a formal setting but it’s absolutely fine and obvious from the outset that it is what it is. We all thought the manageress was outstanding, with superb food throughout. I particularly enjoyed the cheese soufflé which was absolute perfection. I can still taste it now and I’d go back just for that. Just my opinion, but I don’t think you can go wrong here and we’ve all been talking about when we’re going back not if. We all loved it and my family were all saying how lovely the manageress and the food was. I’ve no hesitation in recommending this place and my only query is how often do they change the menu as I’d like to return sooner rather than later!

The Dog and Gun is essentially a Pub. Think children, dogs, basic furniture and toilets. The place was warm enough and the welcome pleasant enough but the food very disappointing. We selected the 3 course menu and I started with cheeses soufflé, OK but too salty. Main was lamb, quite tough and fatty. Also on the plate were 2 things which I can only describe as small meat pies and a sliver of potato. Not a vegetable in sight. The whole thing was beige, heavy, salty and unimpressive. Dessert was crème brûlée which was runny, rather like tinned custard and 3 shortbread biscuits which I have to say were soft. I couldn’t face the petit fours but my partner said they were delicious. The best thing about the whole evening was my initial drink of damson gin and elderflower tonic. I really wanted to like this place, as we live not too far away, but I left feeling full of heavy food and disappointment.

The place still feels very much like a warm and inviting pub....though as soon as the food starts to arrive, it is something special. Every course on the tasting menu was beautifully cooked and full of flavour, from the punchy cheese souffle at the beginning to the luxurious damson souffle at the end. There was a lovely sloe gin cocktail available which was very moreish. All of the staff we spoke to were very friendly and welcoming. Our meal was great value for money and top quality. Would definitely return.

We celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary ladt night. The staff especially Sandra were amazing and really go out their way to make the night special. The food was 10/10. We had the taster menu. Best food we have had. Beautiful presentation and tasted amazing.

When we arrived we were taken to a table which was in the corner and quite dark , our drink orders were taken and menu brought . I have a couple of gripes though , the waitress kept calling me darling , in my opinion I feel this is quite rude . Also my main was cold , it was so quiet even though there were other people eating here I felt like I couldn't complain . Our parents had called as we arrived for a suprise to buy us a complimentary drink as it was our anniversary, but it didn't really happen as our drink was just taken off our bill at the end , bit strange . The food itself was really tasty as you would expect for a Michelin star pub , I say pub because that's what it is . I emailed after our visit to point out the issues but no one replied , hence my review

The best gastropub in Cumbria bar none. The food is outstanding, the service and staff exceptionally friendly and warm, dogs are allowed, and the vibe is casual, cosy and welcoming. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic meal that was faultless, all the flavours worked so well together and each course was delicious. I had the lamb and my husband had the Chateaubriand both of which were perfect. Service was very efficient and the dinning room staff were lovely. The pub is very relaxed with a lovely warm atmosphere, lots of candles and very friendly.

Thanks Ben for the fantastic 3 course meal, we found it quick and easy to prepare as the instructions were very clear and precise. As usual it was all delicious and a lovely treat for both of us and will always highly recommend The Dog & Gun.

We had a selection from Ben's savoury menu, we chose, pork pie, Scotch eggs and mince & onion pie. They were all delicious but I think our favourite was the mince pie that was full of very tasty meat and gravy though, all are well worth a try.

Best meal I have had out in a long time. The starter of ox cheek so tender and delicately flavoured. The lamb was incredible in so many tasty forms, I couldnt decide on the best one and an exquisite dessert of millefeuille with chocolate and salted caramel flavours. Thank you Ben for the great food and Jess for being so personable and knowing the courses so well . We really did feel we had had a masterchef meal and in a great atmosphere .

My husband & I had a fantastic meal last week, it is the first time that we have been out since lock-down but we felt comfortable and safe as they have organized the social distancing very well. As usual the food was great and the staff were lovely and very efficient, we also loved the new lay-out of the bar and all the other changes.Thanks to all for a lovely night out.

The Dog & Gun looks like a pub inside & out but serves top class restaurant food. We went for the 5 course tasting menu with matching wines on our wedding anniversary. Absolutely fantastic food and experience, from booking to the end. Very accommodating on booking and inventive with special menu & dishes to ensure they were all lactose free. Each course had great flavours with interesting mix of tastes in sauces and accompanimentd. Reasonable sized portions so need to go hungry. Quality also in the service, our waitress had an impressive knowledge of each dish and its constituents and was able to answer any questions straight away. Good choice of accompanying wines, very good value for money. Already planning our next visit!

Where is the Michelin star ?? The food absolutely deserves one. Ate there twice in last month and both times the food was superb. This is a gastronomic pub experience. Highly recommend the lamb three ways and the delicious parfait. Service is also excellent.

Esta es, con mucho, la mejor comida de nuestra localidad, hemos estado 3 veces en los últimos 3 meses, muchas veces anteriormente, la calidad de la comida es excepcional, todospreparado por una persona: el chef propietario, respaldado por un excelente personal y servicio. Un pequeño lugar muy humilde, lista de vinos sencilla, dos cervezas de barril y comida de primera clase a una excelente relación calidad-precio.

Este es un pub y restaurante realmente fantástico. La comida es absolutamente fantástica y el alto nivel de servicio al cliente atento y una cálida bienvenida que recibimos hizo que nuestra visita fuera muy especial. Comida porciones magníficas y de tamaño razonable.Presentación sin pretensiones y ambiente relajado. Claramente, todavía hay un comercio limitado de bebidas en los pubs. Estacionamiento en la calle sin problema. La decoración refleja la historia reciente de los pubs con una actualización sutil.Otra mesa tenía demandas dietéticas exigentes que estaban bien gestionadas. Reserva imprescindible. Ha establecido claramente una buena reputación entre las personas que viajan a este tranquilo lugar rural. Visited the Dog & Gun for my partners birthday and had a wonderful experience. The food was some of the best I have ever tasted, the service was fabulous and nothing was to much trouble. Also the homemade cherry brandy went down a treat!

Lo que parecería ser un pequeño pub pintoresco desde el exterior, pero que sirve comida de calidad increíble, mucho más allá de la comida típica de pub. Los anfitriones fueron muy amables con nosotros y nuestro perro, incluso trayendo agua para nuestra bola de pelo de 4 patas. El servicio fue atento pero no agobiante, que es lo que nos gusta. Nos sirvieron focaccia casera con sal marina, que era preciosa, los canelones de langosta termidor era increíble, la mejilla de buey era absolutamente divina y el pudín de sebo de venado era precioso. El pudín de chocolate némesis era dulce pero no enfermizo, simplemente perfecto. Y 3 platos por menos de 30 por persona para esta calidad es increíble: realmente trae comida de la mejor calidad pero a un precio asequible. Este lugar definitivamente vale la pena visitarlo si se encuentra en la zona, una de las mejores comidas de pub que hemos tenido en mucho tiempo.

A really top notch place to eat. The quality of the food is fantastic, and we had a really lovely evening here. We always love eating here when we come up to visit family in the local area.

So much to say!! On arrival we were welcomed by a very polite and friendly host and quickly shown to our table, provided menus and had our drinks order taken. Let me say the service we received was second to none. Great visit already, but the best was still to come. The FOOD, we opted for the 3 course meal and every mouthful was incredible, both in presentation and flavour. My son of 14 said it was his best meal ever. Hats off to the chef as he was in the kitchen alone! It restored my faith in lake district chefs as we had not been impressed with other local pubs. Only wished we lived closer so we could visit more often.

We managed to get the last table of the evening and we are so pleased we did. The food was excellent and such good value for money. Service was great (Sandra was fantastic) and the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. Thank you! We can't wait to come back.

We was made to feel extremely uncomfortable by the lady that seemed to be the manager. 4 of us went in for drinks with 2 dog's (because on the website it says dog friendly) to check out the food and menu for going back the next day to eat. We won't be going back. The amount of time she stared over at us with a scowl was appalling and very noticible. The way she spoke to the poor girl that was obviously training was awful. The whole pub heard her. Terrible service!

So lucky to have this as our local pub. Our first visit lived up to expectations. Traditional cozy, country pub, naturally dog friendly, with welcoming and attentive staff and both of our meals were just fantastic. If you are visiting Cumbria or not local to this area it’s well worth making a journey to come here.

This is a great place to dine with friends who enjoy good food and decent wine. Booking was easy, but it’s only open Thursday to Sunday. We have been twice recently and both times the food was lovely. I would be 5 star, except that might mislead people who are expecting somewhere “posh”. It’s basic country pub decor without frills.

A return visit to this fantastic little Pub in Skelton just outside Penrith.This won Cumbria Life Dinning Pub of the Year earlier in the week, for the second year in a row. Food as always was fantastic, we had the Venison Faggots with red cabbage and fabulous tripple cooked chips. Great pint of Cat Nap as well.

Visited the Dog and Gun again today for Sunday lunch with the family. I find it hard to tally some of the reviews on this site with our experience(s). Great, friendly service, fantastic food and three courses for under £20. How can you not give it 5 stars.

Visited again after a previous disappointing meal but swayed by the many positive reviews.Still not particularly impressed-all four of us were underwhelmed-lacking in finesse.

Small part pub, part restaurant rather off the beaten track. No car park; pub-like with a mix of furniture, every-day tableware, simple toilets etc, but food much better! Local British menu with French, Spanish and Italian influences: had the cheese soufflé and red mullet bouillabaisse, then two venison (suet) puddings with crunchy triple cooked chips and hispi cabbage (same veg were available as ‘extras’ for some dishes). Desserts were most disappointing: the two that sounded most like a pudding were a salted caramel tart with lime ice cream ( ate rather like a lemon tart), but the honey parfait, rhubarb, honeycomb etc was far too sweet and ‘crumb’ for us. Will definitelyvisit again. Some locals seem to be using one end of the open plan building and counter for drinking, so on a Thursday night in winter there was a pub feel to the place,that might not be there other times or seasons.

Loved it. Shame they didnt have my favourite Lard sandwiches. Chips kept getting caught in my beard which made for a lovely surprise when I got home. Yum Yum

The food here is good quality and local ingredients. Had a couple of Sunday lunches here and both times they have been equally as good. A couple of draft lagers to choose from and the staff are really friendly. Only criticism is the atmosphere is very, very quiet. No music just the sound of small chatter and cutlery clinking but I suppose it is a quiet country pub.

We visited here for a Sunday lunch. We were able to bring our dog, which was no trouble at all and he loved the attention he received from staff and other customers!

We had lunch on a Sunday and have to say this place is a hidden gem. The food is of a standard that would compete with many top restaurants, good friendly service which is natural rather than trained/programmed. The final very pleasant surprise is the excellent value for money. Well done to you all what a great job you are doing.

Proper food, cooked to this exquisite quality in this part of the world is few and far between and I am pleased that the Michelin Guide has recognised the skill of chef Ben who produces this delicious food. It is elevated pub grub but elevated way up there and we can't wait to come back again.

Excelente almuerzo de los domingos, el mejor que he comido. Todo cocinado a la perfección. Porciones de buen tamaño, carne tierna, llena de sabor con ingredientes de calidad y excelente relación calidad-precio para los 3 platos, no puedes pedir más que eso, es una pena que viva tan lejos, pero definitivamente volveré de nuevo cuando esté en la zona . Muy recomendable.

Un poco fuera del camino a lo largo de algunos carriles bastante estrechos, pero vale la pena el esfuerzo!

My wife and I have visited here numerous times now - and every time a hit. The venison suet pudding is sublime and the Michelin recommendation is well-deserved. We've eaten at House of Tides, L'Enclume and, while this is a very different experience, it's up there - especially at the relative price.

We enjoyed our meal very much. A nice short menu . We all had a different roast , but they were roasts with a difference. My crispy lamb was liked pulled lamb in breadcrumbs , beautiful and with a very tasty veg and particularly flavoursome gravy .The roast potatoes were heavenly . We had salted caramel tart for dessert and chocolate nemesis equally delicious . We will be back

El mejor chateaubriand que hemos tenido, y eso es un gran elogio teniendo en cuenta que nuestro favorito anterior fue en nuestro restaurante de destino número uno en los Alpes italianos. Visited this pub one Saturday evening. Very disappointed. The staff weren’t friendly. We were constantly rushed due to the next party who were due to sit at our table later on. Tiny portions for ridiculous prices. Certainly won’t return ☹️

Visited the Dog and Gun recently. On the whole nice food much more restaurant than pub. Two people in our party ordered Lamb the portion sizes were minuscule!! Bad value for money and over loaded with salt.

Interesting menu , definitely not standard pub grub Well presented food but all meals were too salty We had chicken , venison, duck and lamb but all very salty which spoilt an otherwise nice plate of food Wouldn't recommend unless you drink a few pints of water after.

Amazing food was really shocked. A little gem of a place. Very popular and just small so they stagger the dining times. One lone chef in the kitchen.i have to say one of the best meal I have ever had. Cater for GF brilliant.coukd not fault this place. Not cheap but well worth the money. I remember this place when it was a spit and sawdust pub many many years ago so was shocked to find such a quality restaurant here.

I decided on this pub after reading the reviews. I wanted a nice place for a Sunday lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary, probably the best Sunday lunch we have ever had. Worth a visit you won't be disappointed, nice beer too. Very reasonably priced and friendly staff.

Staying in the Lake District for the week and had lunch here today, after it was recommended to us. So glad we went with the recommendation. The lunch we had (a roast beef and a roast chicken) was truly fantastic. The quality of the food, how it was cooked and the friendliness of the staff were all 1st class. Possibly the best Sunday lunch we’ve ever had. Would highly recommend.

We are staying locally on holiday and called in early evening to enquire for a table. We were warmly greeted shown to a table with a drink and relaxed as we were a tad early. A lovely interesting menu.we chose starters and then a chateaubriand steak for sharing. It was beautiful, cooked to perfection and lovely flavour. We then indulged in a dessert each!. We both thoroughly enjoyed our evening, the food is amazing* and flavour combinations are inspired and work well. Jade front of house lady is very welcoming and greatly adds to this positive experience.

This is my second visit to the dog and gun, the last been nearly 3 years ago. What can I say the food is fantastic and goes above and beyond what you would expect from a small pub. If you are deciding on where to eat in and around Penrith then look no further, I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Havnt been before, stayed in nearby Greystoke where we were advised to visit and book a table at the dog and gun. On arrival it was a typical country pub and had to wait 40 minutes for the food, but it was well worth the wait. Delicious and multi layered flavours from a chef who new his stuff, a hint of french cuisine combined with classic british, a delight to eat.

I had great expectations from reviews on TripAdvisor. We have just been for sunday lunch. Seems though that if you want anything other than the roast beef you get half a plateful of food.

A small family gathering for Sunday lunch. We all chose the beef which was cooked and served exactly as ordered individually and with an array of perfect vegetables. The carrot puree with a touch of cumin was inspired. We've all had countless pub Sunday lunches, but every now and then something exceptional turns up.

We took a short road trip from Carlisle to here (approx 35 mins away) and pleased we did! We had looked at the sample menus online and were keen to give it ago.

Nine of us came to the Dog and Gun from Centre Parcs during our stay there. We got there in 20mins and must admit first impressions was perhaps not the best but never judge a book by it's cover. The lady who greeted us warmly and made us feel nothing was too much trouble. The food was exceptional and we had a lot of different meals and not a complaint from anyone. This food is way above any pub food we have ever had and the prices were very good. If we return this way again we will not hesitate to return.

Visited dozens of times since Ben took over. His food/flavours are simply delicious, however some of his staff have obviously had no training & cannot even smile. Very pleased to see he has one new very pleasant lady front of house. Hopefully she will stay & influence others. Service is a very important part of a good dining experience.

A really delightful old-fashioned pub - and I use that phrase in the best sense of the word. Not a television, fruit machine, jukebox or quiz machine in sight. Just the hum of conversation from satisfied diners enjoying some really well made, delicious food. Our group of five had a delightful Sunday lunch here, tucking in to such treats as wild mushroom risotto, melt-in-the-mouth lamb, and traditional roast beef Sunday lunch, followed by some equally delightful desserts - I can highly recommend the caramel tart! - and cheese and biscuits. Very friendly and efficient staff too. Real ales as well. The only slight minus mark would be the coffees, which all arrived individually because they were from a machine and were not particularly mad hot. But that is a very minor criticism on otherwise a really enjoyable Sunday lunchtime out.

The food at The Dog & Gun is fabulous, unbelievably tasty and always different to the typical fayre on most menus. There is a good selection on offer and at reasonable prices. The ingredients are usually local and of very good quality and all food is home made, even the bread. The atmosphere is cosy, relaxing and friendly. The Michelin Bib is well deserved.

We booked a cottage and on arriving Monday we’re disappointed to see the pub was shut (currently closed Monday-Wednesday), but booked for a meal on Thursday. We had heard the food was amazing but service not so good. Well I’m pleased to say that the service now lives up to the food, which was amazing. They now have Jade front of house and she is bubbly, enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgable. Made us want to stay longer and have more drinks.

We have visited here on a regular basis for around 10 months now. The food is always excellent but unfortunately the service lets it’s down. When we first started visiting there was a lovely young lady with short hair working here who was always very welcoming, smiley and gave excellent service. She would always ensure we had everything we needed and was always for polite and professional. Fast forward a few months and we haven’t seen her for a while, she was an absolute asset to you and it’s a shame we haven’t seen her in a while. Instead we are met by staff that are miserable and clearly don’t know what they are doing. There simply isn’t any service anymore. The current staff don’t seem to have any experience and you get the impression they can’t be bothered. The prices aren’t the cheapest, but are well worth it for Bens excellent food, however the service does need to be up to standard too. I really hope there are some changes soon as if the shoddy service continues we will be eating elsewhere.

Visited whilst on holiday on a quiet Sunday around 4pm. Place was quiet as between services. Nice setting, lovely furniture and rustic fittings. Sunday set menu had a good variation and we had excellent starters of cheese soufflé and a haddock badenade(?) Small selection of beers and I enjoyed the local Grassmere lager. Mains were also excellent. A very nice roast chicken with lots of roasted vegetables and a good roast beef. The beef was succulent and plentiful, the buttered kale and roasted carrot also good. Service was attentive and very friendly. The children’s fish fingers were homemade and made with large flakes of fresh fish. We finished with a delicious salted dark mousse and a rhubarb pana cotta. This place is an absolute find and deserves its reputation.

Visited for lunch on a Sunday. We booked in advance although the restaurant was not full. Starter for all three of us was twice baked cheese and chive soufflé. Absolutely delicious - cooked to perfection with an unctuous sauce. Followed by violet artichoke and herb risotto described by my veggie wife as ‘fabulous’. I had hake (cooked beautifully) with hollandaise sauce and triple cooked chips. Simply the best. The chef owner Ben Queen-Fryer clearly takes a great pride in his work and this is reflected in some great plates of food. Highly recommended.

THE best meal i have had in a long time, absolutely bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. The service on the other hand was disastrous, no smiles, and very little co ordination, we got given the sweet menu, waited 20 mins and then paid and left without being served. I really hope that this is looked at and training is given as this has the potential to de rail all the excellent work being done in the kitchen. Would recommend anyone to visit for a fantastic meal but not for the service.

Booked a table in advance to celebrate my birthday with my family, there were six of us on a Friday night. The welcome we received was poor, not a smile or hello from a very unfriendly young man who seemed out of his depth all night. He took our order for drinks, I chose one of the advertised specials from the display board only to be told that that there was none left! Why was it on the board if there was none left. We were seated on a table far too big for the size of our group and we had trouble talking because we were so far apart but we persevered! A surly young girl, who again never smiled or had any eye contact whatsoever during the evening, plonked both glasses of wine in front of my husband without asking whose they were and left! The food was tasty and we enjoyed it all, from starters through to sweets but the lack of attention and personality from the front of house staff really spoilt our evening, we even had to ask for sugar and then a spoon which we shared, for our coffee and when we came to leave, we waited for some time to say goodbye but there was no one about, neither in the restaurant nor at the bar so we left. It would have been nice if someone could at least have acknowledged our custom!

Food as expected at Wetherspoons was very good, menu extensive and reasonably priced too. Staff are polite and professional, giving a very quick service.

We booked at short notice and arrived just in time to to a relaxed atmospheric busy pub, the service was polite and unfussy, I had roast turbot - superb, she had featherblade steak - excellent, we couldn’t have had a better meal on a wet dreary night.

Pub is cosy, warm & welcoming. Food was excellent & serving portions just the right size. Beautiful rare roast beef with exquisite vegetables - who knew kale could taste to good!

Lovely country pub with excellent food. We ordered the shoulder of lamb and it was both plentiful and delicious. The only downside is that there was no room for a pudding but they certainly looked appetizing!!

We reserved a table in advance at the dog and gun and indicated we had a small well behaved dog. When we arrived many of the tables were reserved and we were shown to our table next to the toilet. When we enquired if there were any other tables available we were told that dog owners always sit at this table. We manage to get the table moved a few feet so we were away from the toilet entrance. Anyway, we ordered our starters and mains and the whilst the pate starter was Ok the main courses were very good. I had feather blade and it was well cooked and very tasty. My wife had the venison pudding which was also was very tasty. Overall a good experience just a shame about the position of the table.

Just enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Dog and Gun Inn. Relaxed atmosphere, fantastic meal. Only criticism would be the staff unfortunately, considering the quality of food and standard, the staff were untrained in the etiquette of service. Served a bottle of wine but placed it on the table and didn’t even open it for us to taste. We had to chase them for menus and again for menus for dessert. Lack of smile and service seemed a chore to them, sorry but not what we expected for the Michelin standard and price. However can’t fault the food, so well done to the chef and kitchen staff, wonderful quality.

Great to see this local pub serving fantastic food. We went with parents & son to see what it was like since it changed hands and were highly impressed. My main course - a variety of local lamb dishes including a hot pot served separately - was so flavoursome I could licked the plate clean.

The atmosphere is cosy and friendly and the food is delicious. It’s an interesting menu based on local and seasonal ingredients. We went with friends who live in the village. Lucky people it’s walking distance from their house.

This really is a first class restaurant .....food is excellent... you will not be disappointed...good selection of local Ale's. You will need to book as the Dog and Gun is very popular. Relaxed and good service.

Comida muy sabrosa! ?? Felicitaciones al chef. Fuimos un sábado por la noche para una comida con la esposa y los niños, todos disfrutamos de nuestros entrantes, platos principales y postres! Fue de gran valor para la calidad y nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos también! Sin duda volveremos, muy recomendable?

Visité aquí hoy más temprano con la familia para el almuerzo del domingo. Una cálida bienvenida y un ambiente hogareño te saludan cuando entras por la puerta. Nos sentamos con prontitud y nuestros pedidos de bebidas tomadas mientras examinando el menú. Tres de nosotros optamos por el pollo asado y uno de nosotros eligió la carne asada. Los tamaños de las porciones son la cantidad justa, la comida está bien presentada y es extremadamente sabrosa. Decidimos tomar el postre y tres si seleccionábamos la némesis de chocolate oscuro y uno elegía el limón. Había platos vacíos de ambos platos durante todo el año. Una experiencia muy agradable y sin duda volveremos aquí la próxima vez que estemos en la zona.

Encontré esto por casualidad después de leer un artículo en el periódico local. ¡El chico sabe cocinar! ! ! Carnes, pescados y verduras perfectamente cocinados y bellos postres. Su menú está bien pensado, utiliza productos locales y está un paso por encima de cualquier cena de domingo en la zona. Un punto para agregar es que el chef y el propietario, Ben, incluso se tomaron el tiempo de enviarme los menús por correo electrónico después de preguntar por el pub, son las pequeñas cosas las que cuentan, puedes decir que él se preocupa por el lugar. No dudes en reservar esto para una comida! ! ???

Hemos estado dos veces en las últimas semanas y tuvimos experiencias muy similares. La comida es absolutamente excelente, el ambiente local y todo el ambiente es lo que hubiera esperado de un lugar galardonado. Sin embargo, el servicio no lo es, tener que pedir una botella de agua tres veces y ver mesa tras mesa tener que pedir cubiertos para que puedan comer su plato principal muestra una falta de habilidades básicas. Volvería, sí, definitivamente, la comida es tan buena que aguantaría el servicio.

Immaculate food. Served hot and full of flavour. 3 courses each as they were so temping. Absolutely delicious. Well done chef. Very average service. Waiter and waitresses were not keen to be there, no eye contact and no smiles.

I contemplated giving this a terrible review as I was concerned that if it became too popular I might struggle to get a table. But I shan’t. Big of me.
