Docket No.33 in Shropshire

Pretty much our go to place to celebrate special occasions, most definitely our most favourite restaurant on the planet. Every course is a mouthful of wonder and paired beautifully with wine, and really friendly happy service.

This is a place for special occasions. My 60th birthday surprise from my wife - 10 course tasting menu with wines - Fabulous. Food was excellent and very well described by Beth (a naturally gifted server) The knowledge of the wines and all around hosting skills from Francis was fabulous.

Huge thanks to the very talented chef, Stuart Collins and the warm and welcoming Docket team. We had the 5 course lunch as a special celebration meal and the food was gorgeously presented with beautiful complex flavours. Excellent wine and coffee too. The staff were particularly attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we look forward to visiting again in future. Highly recommended for foodies and those looking for somewhere special to celebrate.

A lovely modern restaurant with friendly and knowledgeable front of house staff serving a ten course set tasting menu, full of flavour and texture. Can't wait to go back

My wife and I booked the taster menu which consisted of 10 delicious tasters, I like to say it was absolutely mindblowing food every taster was brilliant the wine was delicious it was so good we were naughty and had two bottles ,the service was first class we would certainly recommend Docket 33 and we will be back thank you all for making this a great and enjoyable afternoon.See you soon.

This is like a hidden gem! The presentation and the taste of the food is fabulous. Staff, have been very well trained and again the way they deliver to the table is outstanding. I would not hesitate to recommend DocketNo33.

What an incredible experience. From booking, to leaving the restaurant the whole evening was just incredible. Such a relaxed, intimate atmosphere. I asked for a vegetarian menu, I had my own menu printed out just like everyone else. I didn't feel like I missed out on anything at all. My husband had the meat menu and said it was incredible too. The staff all made us feel so welcome, their knowledge is brilliant. It was an absolute honor to experience Stuart & Frans incredible menu. Thank you all so so much! We'll be back for our next special occasion.

First time to Dockets and will definitely be back. Fabulous food, which was so creative. Brilliant service, friendly and knowledgeable staff. We got to meet the chef at the end, which was a nice touch, and we could have spoken to him for hours. His passion for food came out in abundance!

Tried a taster menu for the first time. The food was amazing and the service excellent. It wasn't cheap but worth it to us as it was a very special occasion.

What an amazing little gem of a place, the food was amazing and the staff were outstanding in the service they provided.

Our absolute favourite place to visit. An absolute must. The food is out of this world and the service is fantastic. The team go out of their way every single time to make sure we have the best experience. And that’s exactly what it is - an experience! The chickpea chips are a triumph. Docket review 13th May 2023. Docket No33 is absolutely superb and continues to deliver exquisite food and service. Last night was our 8th visit in a year and was, without doubt, our best dining experience yet! Now, at the risk of sounding like a boaster, I’ve dined in some pretty amazing restaurants - Le Manoir, Le Gavroche, Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall, Purnells and Simpsons in Birmingham, Tom Kitchin, Edinburgh, Mr Underhills Ludlow (now closed) amongst others and they were all good, some in fact were very good but last night at Docket No33 was exceptional. How Stuart manages to pack so much of a punch with flavour and texture is truly magical. Coupled with Frances’ genius as a sommelier, her wine pairings do take each dish to an even greater height. Bravo to the entire Docket team and keep up the amazing work. We’ll see you again in July!!

Good quality food, reasonable price's definitely recommend

We had a very leisurely and relaxed lunch. The setting is perfect, the staff are friendly,informative and highly professional. The food is sublime and the best in the area. We will be regular visitors without doubt.

We've eaten here several times, both pre and post the various Covid lockdowns, and we've always been delighted. Stuart is a very accomplished chef and the dishes on the tasting menu are both pretty and packed with flavour... they put a smile on your face. Frances runs "front of house" with an enthusiastic and friendly team and you always feel valued as a diner. She pairs the wines expertly (and I work in the wine trade) and it's well worth opting for the wine flight to accompany your menu. Well worth a visit for a great dining experience.

2nd visit here, as it was so good the first time. Everything about Docket is 10 out of 10 for me. For the food lovers that read reviews as I do. I have eaten at a lot of the best restaurants the world has to offer, this isn't based on I'm used to eating out at the local pub. The Menu is well thought out and so to is the wine flight. Give it a go, you will not be disappointed

We went for my husbands 50th birthday and had the tasting menu and drinks pairing. Everything was outstanding, including the staff. Amazing restaurant.!

5 star meal and experience. We went on Friday for my birthday after wanting to go for a while and it was 100% worth the wait. Yes- as expected the food was spectacular and didn’t disappoint. The menu was beautifully presented and it really was well considered. Ever. Single element. (Our fave was the rhubarb lolly! Closely followed by the beef! Not in that order 🤣) I am currently pregnant and this was considered and the menu adapted to suit. I queried one of the menu options and it was adjusted to suit just to be extra cautious and that was just another element of greatness. The staff were lovely, they all asked how we were and they all were knowledgeable and helpful. Our main server was Harry and he was fantastic. The manager (sorry we didn’t take your name!!) was wonderful too- she took the time to come over and explain that one of the choices was based on her love of soup and a sarnie! She was super enthusiastic and it was obvious that the team she leads want to be there and they are taking her enthusiasm in their stride. We expected good food but the whole experience was just lovely and my last birthday meal before baby arrives was memorable and faultless. Thanks so much to all the staff- both inside and outside the kitchen- keep doing what you are doing and we will be back!

Myself and a group of friends have visited Docket No33 a few times. Never been disappointed. From the moment you walk in, you're made to feel welcome. The food is sublime, matched by the knowledge of the sommelier and the relaxing atmosphere, it's a win, win, win! Go on treat yourselves.

Stunning, from beginning to end. Stuarts food is literally out of this world, the flavours were incredible. This is our second time travelling to Whitchurch with the soul purpose of visiting docket. Yes the town is also beautiful but the food here is out of this world. If you’re on a date here you’re guaranteed to fall in love over the food and experience 🫶🏼

Wow, ate there last night, tasting menu, and my wife paired with the wine, Fabulous combinations and skillfully prepared. We had the pleasure to talk to both Stuart and Frances. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful. This meal was stunning and next time we are in Shropshire we are sure to head here again. This is up there with the other Michelin starred restaurants we have been to. My daughter is visiting next week and I am so envious.

Top place, you will need to book well in advance. Staff very attentive, food excellent good friendly atmosphere. Not a place for those on a tight budget, otherwise I would highly recommend.

In autumn Lockdown I was having fond memories of my last visit to docket No33 In October 2019.Having gaining an appetite of them chickpea chip is was literally a visit long overdue..Having been greeted at th he door with a happy and pleasant great greet..Docket only do a taster menu which in my eyes I do love, having looked at the menu and going for the wine flight! I was definitely ready to get stuck in.The Famous Docket chickpea chips are a definite 100% glad to see them still on the menu! And with a seasonal wild garlic Dunking dip, then we moved on to a dainty delicious beef tart!After the beer bread come a well cooked scallop and then a delicious tasting trout!Having seen quail on the menu I was looking forward to this one ! As I don't get to see quail much on menus when I eat out! Both pieces of quail breast and leg was absolutely ridiculously succulent!The next was probably one of the best cheese courses I've ever had ! It was only one type of cheese, but that burrata and them tomatoes was divine.Having being an Absolute fan of raspberries eating the desserts was bang on delicious! Sweet & sour and with a crumbly crunchy base.Then to finish the night off was some summer flavour jelly sweets.It was really nice to come back there! The front of house was so pleasant and engaged with you which made you feel relaxed and contented.

Having experienced the taster menu along with the wine paring I have to say that the whole thing was superb……. It’s not very often that you struggle to choose a favourite course and we couldn’t here. Who would have thought that such a high standard was on our doorstep!! We’ll be back!

Our party of 4 (all foodies!) visited Docket No 33 on the last night of a short break in Shropshire. I rarely book restaurants that only have a tasting menu as I'm a fussy eater but having been very impressed by the chef/owner, Stuart Collins, on the Great British Menu I really wanted to try the restaurant. I am so glad I did, every course was fantastic and the overall experience was absolutely wonderful.From the amazing chickpea chips with wild garlic and dry aged beef with white soy and truffle, excellent bread, beautiful scallops, soft, perfectly cooked quail breast with a lovely confit'ed leg, to the smoothest of smooth raspberry cremeaux, everything was faultless. The little pear beignet served as a petit four was the best beignet I've ever had, light and fluffy and a great end to a memorable meal.The wines we chose (we didn't have the accompanying wine flight) were also excellent. The service was perfect, the 3 hours we spent there flew by and we never felt rushed but neither were there any long gaps, each course flowed seamlessly into the next. Frances was a lovely hostess and Stuart left the kitchen at the end of the evening to speak to the diners. It's honestly hard to overstate how brilliant the whole evening was - food and service was just right, all in all a really slick operation. If ever in the area again, the first thing I'd do would be to book a table here.

Fantastic tasting menu with drinks pairing and cheese course. New tastes and ingredients, served with minimal fuss, but massive enthusiasm by a knowledgable and dedicated team.We cannot wait to go back, the ethos of local quality ingredients shines through, right down to an amazing beer bread and butter served with our Scallops.The wines took us all around the world from Kent to Spain, Greece and New Zealand, chosen with real skill by Frances and the team to bring the dishes to life.We feel blessed to have this quality of food on our doorstep.

We love everything about Docket 33 from the creative and beautifully prepared food, to the wine pairings and the genuinely warm and welcoming team. Today we went to enjoy Stuart’s winning central region menu from “the Great British menu”. It was everything we expected and so much more. Truly outstanding. Fresh local produce transformed into stunning dishes which are creatively presented - and accompanied by delicious wines. Why go anywhere else !!

What a fantastic night. Cannot rave about it enough. It was the first night out me and the wife have had without the kids in sooo long and it did not disappoint. The service was friendly and the food was fantastic, which was equally matched by Fran who was simply amazing. 100% looking forward to when we can visit again (also I really need that bread recipe as not sure I can eat any other type of bread again!!!). Loved it.

What a wonderful dining experience we had on Saturday, each course blew us away. Our Quail was just so perfect we knew nothing could beat it………. until we tasted the raspberry, vanilla, yuzu & wood sorrel-this was just amazingly good and have no idea how Stuart created this heaven on a plate. Frances was just the perfect host - but then she always is!!!Look forward to our next visit

Could not rate this place enough. The food was sublime. The waiters/waitresses were wonderful and the information regarding the food we were eating along with the wine that complimented the food was second to none. A perfect evening had by all!

The most brilliant take away / serve at home meal

Went for my mums birthday last August and it was brilliant from start to finish! The service was impeccable and the food well that was absoultly outstanding! We had the tasting menu, I'm not a big lover of fish but i tried the trout and it was extremely yummy! Would highly recommened.

Second time having Docket No.33 at Home, I could eat this every week (when it’s to my tastes!). The wine pairing was also perfect! Can’t wait to see what next weeks menu holds, but also to be able to eat in the restaurant!

Superb. From the little flavour bombs of the canapes to the delicious chocolate mousse everything was superb but the beef wellington was amazing. A great way to start the New Year.

We last visited Docket a couple of years ago so were excited to visit again as Covid restrictions were eased in the area. The tasting menu was really excellent. We opted for the paired drinks but as a die-hard Sauvignon fan I was a little sceptical - I needn't have worried, the wines were delicious and perfectly complimented the tasty courses. Each plate of food was really excellent, highlights for me were the mushroom orzo and the brined cod. All in all it was a wonderful experience with friendly service and fabulous food.

We dined again at Docket No.33 on the first Saturday after the November lockdown. Stuart has certainly been busy over the last few months creating more superb dishes and taking this restaurant to new heights of fine dining. Each course was a triumph and was expertly paired with a wine that really complimented the dish. Front of house was as professional as always, blended with friendliness that creates a relaxed environment.Bravo Stuart and Frances!

First experience of Docket No. 33 was during lockdown (take 2!) and cannot fault the experience! Really good, easy to follow instructions on how to cook/reheat at home (food wasn’t warm leaving the restaurant), absolutely blown away, some the best starters I’ve eaten (flatbread with garlic and herb butter, red cabbage and onion croquettes ). Will definitely keep a lookout for another menu that I like the look of, hopefully when we can eat in too

Had a takeaway this evening. Absolutely superb. Cannot recommend highly enough; just wait until we've ordered before you do!

We weren't told the methods of production of each wine served with the tasting menu. Just where it's from and the note it gives away.. beside, all those info's were given us at the speed of the light. Couldn't catch much. Then I don't know if the ingredients are locally sourced cause again this info wasn't given us. The bass was crispy on the skin and a bit tough on the flesh. Amazing espresso martini. Average service.

We enjoyed another delightful evening at Docket No.33 last Saturday. Each course from the inventive bon bouche "snacks" and the pan roasted quail through to the chocolate & nougatine bar was a triumph; with the beetroot cured trout and the green apple jelly being our respective individual highlights, although personally I rated the lamb rump equally highly, allowing the trout dish to take the honours on novelty.The wine flight was a series of inspired matches.Service was, as ever, charming and efficient. We would have loved to linger longer after dinner but the 10pm "covid curfew" curtailed the evening.

Fab evening, amazing food. Hospitality awesome as always. Every visit is faultless. If you've not been there its a must.

Superb quality food and wine tasting.

Lovely restaurant with great friendly service. Makes all the difference when as soon as you arrive you are really welcomed in. The tasting menu was delicious. Can’t really name my favourite course as all we’re as good as each other. Great selection of wines. Chef came out at the end to say Hi which was really nice. Apparently they change the menu regularly so we’ll definately be going back.

We revisited Docket No.33 shortly after it re-opened following the Covid-19 restaurant closures. During the closure period we had used the Docket at Home service, which was absolutely superb.Our meal (the tasting menu) was as superb as always. Stuart (the chef patron) always produces dishes of exquisite flavours and precise presentation. Each course is a joy to behold, served by a friendly front of house team lead by Frances.This is a restaurant well worth a visit for a celebration or just to enjoy wonderful fine dining.

We had our lockdown Golden Wedding anniversary this week and decided to go out for meal even though we have been very careful for the last few months. The staff were so welcoming and friendly that we had no worries, and they made the evening so special for us. The taster menu was delicious from first to last, and they even sprinkled the last dessert course with gold as a special celebration. | cannot recommend it highly enough - we are so lucky to have such a marvellous restaurant in Whitchurch.

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to write a review of this incredible place! We’ve returned to this restaurant for countless meals in the time it’s been open and they never fail to blow us away with the most imaginative, delicious and beautiful food, impeccably paired wines, a fabulous cocktail selection and service that is second to none! The town of Whitchurch is a better place because this restaurant is in it!! Put this on your list of places to try NOW!!!

Superb food and service, the tasting menu is very cleverly put together. Always delicious, and if you go for the accompanying wine flight, you will not be disappointed! Would recommend for any special occasion, as dining here is definitely something special and out of the ordinary!

This restaurant is all about the tasting menu so not the cheapest but definitely value for money. One of the nicest meals I have ever had. Fabulous flavour combinations, lovely wine pairings if you want them. Vegetarian and vegan options available. Great friendly service. A lovely, lovely evening. Thank you so much!

Can't rate Docket No.33 highly enough. Second visit for us and we can't wait for the third. Excellent food, Chef Stuart is a genius! Everything about this restaurant is amazing. We have been twice and loved everything. The tasting menu concept is brilliant- you try things you may not have chosen off an al la carte and you find they are your favourite dishes of the evening. The service is also outstanding. Just love it.

This is a real gem of a restaurant. The food, drinks and service are all amazing. We loved it. The swordfish ceviche was fantastic, as was the rose veal.

November 2019 taster menu with paired wines and guest speaker was a really good event. Food was excellent but very very small portions and the wine was a good range with expert commentary on each one

First time visit to try the taster menu, paired wines and port and guest speaker. All most enjoyable. The food was really good albeit tiny portions and the wine was very pleasing as was the white port
