Coffee is just what the name of the place suggests: devine. Haven't had any better coffee during my stay in York. Strongly recommend

What can I say, but they have the best coffee, freshly ground. Wildcard is my favourite, a mix of 3 single origin coffes. You can order their coffee online via subscription. Unfortunately, Wildcard, being a limited edition, isn't one of those.

These guys are serious about top quality coffee. They know their stuff. Proper proper coffee and in a great location.

Cosy and nice place to wait with hot chocolate if you're early to check in at The Lawrence. Even though they were at closing time, the staff welcomed us and served one of the best hot chocolates I have tasted 😍

Good coffee done well. My V60 was prepared with care and a smile. Good brownie too. Nice atmosphere. The other snacks looked tasty too. I've been buying their beans online for a while and it was nice to get to the cafe.

Stumbled over this little gem today, just the best smoked salmon & cream cheese bagel and bagel special (scrambled egg, bacon, chilli jam). Coffee excellent as well.

After ordering coffee Via post, we were keen to see what this place was like when visiting York. I only have praise for the welcome from all the staff on our visit and can thoroughly recommend the bagels for breakfast, as well as the coffee of course. Other places can learn a lot from these guys who genuinely welcome you into their place. They made our silver wedding anniversary breakfast a great experience.

The best coffee I've ever had in Britain, not simple for an Italian from near Naples to say that, but it's true.The Avocado Bagel was delicious, too.

Best cup of coffee I've had in a long time! Not being overly fond of "frothy" coffee, I was delighted to find options other than filter coffee ( that sometimes tastes like it was made a few days ago ) I plumped for a V60 with Ugandan beans, and while I was sorry for the barista who looked terrified, ( no criticism, he'd just received a rather large order directly before me, and the V60 is a rather precise process ) his colleague stepped in and made me the nicest cup of coffee. Envious comments were soon made from other patrons about wishing they'd ordered one. I loved the "ceremony" of it, something you still get with tea, but not coffee. 10/10 definitely be back. My husband said the latte was good too.

I have been a user of Devines own beans at home for a while now so when I was in York I wanted to try there shop to see how good there own barristas brewed there beans. The coffee was the best I've tasted this side of Roost in Malton. If your a coffee lover do check it out! The staff were very attentive and polite and very good barristas, these guys weren't just pushing buttons, they know there beans!

Called in here today and tried the new menu (May ‘23). Had an ‘Avo’ (pinchito) brunch and I must say the flavours were stunning. Toasted bread with a mix of feta, chorizo and chilli jam were the main ingredients but my chef (Molly) had some kind of special technique for the toasting and the flavour of the chorizo and chilli jam worked a treat. Really enjoyed it, not heavy but full of flavour with a bit of a heat kick. Highly recommended:)

Bringing coffee well before food is wrong. I heard the phrase something to eat and drink before. But not the phrase something to drink and eat!

Fresh coffee done in the usual formats, small selection of cakes and brownies, courteous staff, inside and outside seating. Lovely to watch people from.

With locally roasted coffee and small batch sizes you are assured of fresh clean tasting coffee and served by knowledgeable and friendly staff who clearly share a passion for not just good coffee but great coffee. With a good selection of their locally roasted beans for sale and a good selection of pastries and cakes this is a Must Visit coffee shop and definitely one of the best cups of coffee you can drink in York.

Visited this cafe again . Great for a lunch stop on the way in to town ..stop snd watch thecworld go by! Coffee as always is just how we like it. There are new bagels on the menu enjoyed by the family such as new yorker and caprese but if, like us, you can't decide then go fur the sharing board. Laden with goodies ...ours had salmon, pastrami, capers.,cream cheese and bagels plus more . Excellent value, well presented and friendly service..

Really great coffee - made with great skill for people who enjoy the taste of black coffee (although I’m assured the latte was excellent too). Then the bagels were superb - fresh bread and generous, quality fillings. Highly recommended.

What a fabulous little place! Located on micklegate, this gorgeous little place is a stones throw to the centre of town, The service is brilliant! What lovely folk! Welcoming, amazing coffee & THE best bacon bap!! Just Gorgeous - we will return!

We saw this place whilst walking out to the racecourse from the city centre so decided to call-in. We are very glad we did as we had a nice time there and they serve excellent coffee. The CAFE itself is nice inside but we took a table on the pavement which was great for people watching. The service was really friendly and we were quickly brought two delicious coffee is it along with a glass of water free of charge. There are lots of good coffee places around these days but this must be one of the best. Great value as well.

Stopped for a chilled brunch in sunny Micklegate. Divine coffee roasted locally and freshly made bread and bagels . The bacon roll was the best we've had in York and the amazing rosemary and sea salt bagel with smoked salmon was delicious. Definitely worth a...

Happened upon here whilst heading into York. Excellent coffee, decent food and cosy atmosphere to fuel me for a morning sightseeing

Good little place for a refuel with reasonably priced drinks and selection of bagels. Pleasant and prompt service by friendly staff. Has outdoor seating on the pavement at the front. Hot chocolate was good. I had the rosemary, garlic and sea salt bagel with a vegetarian filling of mozzarella, pesto and rocket. It was very good with substantial filling. The pesto was nut free and dairy free. Good signage on food items re allergies. Also provided on the menu board was a sheet with great information about the ingredients suppliers with whom they work. This is an excellent little place which tries really hard to make everything about your visit spot on. Upon my next visit I shall sample the roasted pumpkin, garlic kale and houmous bagel. Sounds yum. Recommended.

Firstly the coffee is reasonably priced and I love the choices of different types and the chance to buy a selection. Secondly the coffee is lovely (I buy the beans for my coffee machine) and I love the taste. Thirdly the customer service is outstanding and is refreshing in these times. Luke was amazing despite me buying the wrong item and so helpful. I can't recommend this company enough and will be a regular customer. Keep up the fantastic work guys.

A unique coffee shop. Fresh baked bagels on site, delicious had to pop back a few times. A few small tables to eat in or take away. I loved the Devine bacon on garlic, rosemary and Seasalt bagel ummm

Stopped in a couple times during my visit for a hot chocolate and it was a warm and welcoming environment with a calm atmosphere :) would be here all the time if I lived local

Lovely staff, visited 23rd September 21, we bought some coffee which is roasted on the premises, the best coffee I've ever had, leaves no bitter after taste. Would highly recommend it.

Dropped in for coffee and a Bagel and oh my goodness, this was THEE BEST bagel I've had in years. Earl grey tea for the mother in law, and cream cheese on garlic and rosemary... Was like a hug for the soul. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The name of the coffee says it all. Worth going out of your way for. We would cross the country for this coffee. There is a small area outside to sit down but as it is so popular with locals you may need to take a seat inside. In the morning you are likely to see a queue outside of people waiting for their first hit. They have some cakes but it may depend on what has recently been baked. We had some tiffin cake that was amazing and did not detract from the coffee. You can buy some of their coffee as beans or ground and why wouldn't you?

I only buy their coffee now - Local roasters with a great range of blends available at a very reasonable price. The Fortuna Blend is amazing and is now my go to coffee for espresso. Highly recommend for any coffee lovers wanting great tasting, locally roasted coffee.

Delightful little lunch spot with excellent coffee and very thoughful, friendly and personable staff. 👌 We were on the lookout for somewhere with undercover seating where we could stop for lunch on a rainy Bank Holiday. We happened across this place with a couple of tables and chairs under the awning in front of their shop and it suited us just fine. They only have a small menu with savoury bagels but the mozzarella and pesto bagel served with salad leaves and crisps was delicious and just what we needed. The coffee was amazing as were the little chocolate crinkles which made the perfect apéritif ! 😋

The coffee at Divine is, well, brilliant. As one of three roasters in York they do a great job to stand out. Their espresso blend is delicious and well balanced and easy to dial in, even on home machines, and their origin coffee is deliciously sweet and great for filter. I used their Ethiopian coffee in a Hario syphon and it tasted amazing, but also worked great in a V60. Well worth trying if you're into delicious coffee.

Divine by name, divine by nature..Simply the best coffee I've ever tasted. I only drink coffee, so it has to be good and this is good. Keep up the good work..I will be getting a subscription.

I made a note to return to pick up a bag before I left york. The coffee unlike the shop was unimpressive. Lacking flavour and appeared to be a weak coffee. I'll be back however to pick up a bag or two of ground coffee.

We were missing our usual beans that we used to buy in London and couldn't find anything comparable in the supermarket so thought we'd give this company a chance. What a joy. Great service and brilliant tasting coffee. So far have tried the Pato which has a lovely mellow flavour and the Honduran which grinds very differently and has a real depth to it. We are trying to support small independents wherever they are and hope to see Divine Coffee come through. Keep up the brilliant roasting.

Just received the Ethiopian whole bean coffee and it is amazing. I made a small error in my order and nothing was too much trouble for the guys to put right. Totally professional and polite, and their coffee.......brilliant.

I simply can’t rate these boys high enough. I made a small mistake in my order and they put it right straight away without any problem, they informed me on my delivery every step of the way. For me, it’s all about treating people politely and with respect and they delivered in spades. A professional company run by top quality people.

Great coffee! We ordered one of their starter sets to try a few different ones at the beginning, my husband likes strong coffee and was pleased to see some nice strong ones in the pack which he is enjoying, looking forward to trying the strongest one on offer next time. I can only drink decaffeinated so it was great to see one of those in the starter pack too, and it's lovely! Will definitely be ordering again :-)

I've visited the café in York on a long weekend break late last year...back in the good old days when trips were still safe & allowed! :-) It's a lovely little place. We only planned to pop in for a quick coffee but it was so nice we stayed for a 2nd cup. Last week I placed an online order & have been delighted with it. Arrived very quickly given the circumstances & I'm super happy with the coffee. The service was also great. I had a couple of queries before I ordered & the communication from them was prompt, polite & helpful. Highly recommended Divine either as a café or as an online service.

I ordered their 5 bag starter set and am really pleased with them, I like that they vary in strength so I can have a brew in the afternoon too. I chose whole beans as I also ordered a hand grinder and an Aeropress. My order was well packaged and delivered via DPD, I had a question on delivery time so messaged them via Facebook, they were quick to respond which was nice. Overall I’m really impressed with the service and most importantly the coffee tastes delicious. Cheers

We came here twice in 24hrs because we enjoyed it so much. The coffee was really nice and loved the quirky decor and use of space. Really nice addition to Micklegate and very friendly service.

The coffee was very tasty so if you’re passing and want a take out I’d recommend but the staff weren’t very welcoming when we came in today - One busying taking up the central space where we could’ve sat doing some work on the menu...

Searched here online using the keywords. Coffee roasters in York... luckily enough we found this near our hotel so I checked it out. It serves great quality fresh coffee with excellent customer service we tried the Fortuna Beans and took an additional bag home . I love the start up company feel you can see there is a passion and hunger for coffee roasting. In my field of work it is definitely the kind of business I would love to help build exposure and build into a larger brand.

The short: A small but great boutique coffee shop for coffee lovers located near the heart of York. The long: Divine is a great little coffee shop who's coffee comes from a local roaster just outside of town. They favor medium to light roasts of small batches of seasonally available beans. Fantastic stop for those seeking good coffee and a nice place to enjoy it.

Amid the tonnes of coffee shops in York, Divine is my new favourite by far - great coffee, lovely staff and stylish interior. To top it all off, they roast the coffee themselves which means it's much tastier. I bought some bags to enjoy at home as well - great price. Yummy cakes and paninis are also available.

Given there are around 70 independent coffee houses in York there is a lot of competition. The coffee here rises to the challenge is one of the best.

Una pequeña cafetería encantadora en Micklegate, parece pequeña al principio, pero hay más asientos en la parte de atrás. Muy asequible y el personal es amable. Nos gustó la oferta de café y pastel para 3. 50, el café es super sabroso y los pasteles estaban deliciosos. Especialmente bueno si necesita trabajar o estudiar, con escritorios para computadora y lámparas pequeñas y una atmósfera muy fría. ¡Las mesas de madera clásicas también hacen una gran foto de instagram! No hay comida aparte de unos cuantos pasteles en el momento, ¡pero espero que venga en el futuro! Definitivamente esto se convertirá en una opción frecuente de nuestra para remodelaciones.
