Amazing experience, hidden down quiet Kingly Street it’s easy to miss but so worth a visit. Seated on entry (17.30yrs), served immediately by a knowledgeable waitress, sumptuous food arrived quickly and very fairly priced!

After hearing about this place we visited today. Served water in what looked like a tin beaker the water has bits of something in it so I guess the beaker was dirty just like the plate they handed to me. Naan served in a baking tin (very odd) The chicken ruby curry was tomato soup no spice just tomato soup with cream, remined us of a Korma but with a tin of tomato soup thrown in. The Chicken Berry Britannia was very dry and bland. The menu was limited for a curry lover. The server was rude as she asked to clear the plates before we had even finished our food (clearly they want you out as the place was busy) however I was happy to have the table cleared so I could begin the process of forgetting the evening. For me I will stick with the usual curry house, you know the ones that do Madras, Dhansak, Chicken Jalfrezi etc. I have to say the curry I had in Paris was better and they don't even know how to a make a BIR curry.

Best Indian restaurant in London. Not my first visit, and absolutely not my last. The food is authentic and very close to the real thing in India:) Definately worth the waiting in line outside. Long wait to what turned out to be a weatherspoons canteen. Was fairly near the door which was opening constantly with the large flow of diners. Had the chicken ruby. I know when I’m tasting Heinz tomato soup and that definitely tasted like it had that in it. Overall food was pretty uninspiring. Much better food at your normal curry house. Came to £100 for two of us with one drink each. Plus no cobra served here

Grabbed an early reservation, to try one of the dishes reviewed by the excellent cooking show 'Milk Street'. If you can eat early, reservations are the thing, as when we left there was a line (VERY popular place in London). It was better than we had expected, and our server (Antonio) was extremely helpful and offered some great suggestions. Talked us through the menu items we were interested in, and educated us on several of them. Went there for the 'gunpowder potatoes', but everything we tried was excellent. A great option for people that like 'spicy' foods (my wife) and those of us that like 'flavorful' (not burn your mouth) foods. Definitely added to our list of must-eats when we are in London. We bought their cookbook to try some of their options when we are home in Texas....

Had heard lots of good things about this place so decided to try it out with my partner. Went to the Covent Garden space and they served us hot drinks whilst we queued which was kind, queue was not too long at peak time but the place is absolutely massive! Two gigantic floors and it was completely packed inside. That being said, our waiter was super attentive to us throughout the night, everyone we met was really friendly and accomodating which we really appreciated. They also helped explain the menu and how things worked. We were recommended the house chaat as a starter which was honestly one of our favourite dishes, super refreshing and a really unique mix of flavours with the pomegranate, sweet potato and cool yoghurt. Loved this one! We shared the chicken ruby and the house dhaal with some naans, rice and a couple of sides including the grilled mushrooms - the dhal is brilliant, super rich and comforting but not too filling so you can always go back for more. Mushrooms were nice and well seasoned and the chicken ruby was very creamy. Naans were good, though I wished each portion would have had a bit more. To round things off we had a pistachio kulfi. Very refreshing though a bit pricey for only one. Either way though, we had a wonderful time! Very enjoyable date night and would recommend!

This place had a line out the door constantly and although we didn’t make a reservation, we were still able to get in fairly quickly without having to wait forever. The staff were extremely friendly. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable and very kind. He gave us great recommendations. We are both vegetarian and got the Daal with naan, rice and the veg samosas and everything was packed with flavor and very enjoyable. My sister enjoyed her cocktail and I got the mango lassi which was delicious! The prices were fair and the menu is very diverse. I also really enjoyed the interior as its extremely comforting and although its crowded, you don’t really notice as the restaurant is huge and the tables are well spaced out. If I lived in London, I’d definitely come here weekly.

Dishoom Indian impresses not only with its delightful cuisine but also with its exceptional staff. From the moment you walk in, the welcoming atmosphere created by the attentive and friendly team sets the tone for a memorable dining experience. The staff's knowledge of the menu and willingness to offer recommendations tailored to your preferences enhance the overall enjoyment. We did not book a table and joined the queue outside, we were given a realistic wait time of 35 minutes and it was almost exact to the minutes. All guests who were waiting were offered a glass of hot chai as it is February which was lovely of them and also delicious. Regarding the food, our food was brought out with perfect timing of finishing the first course. As a person who is not keen on spice I am blow away with how much I enjoyed some of the more spicy foods. I was also extremely pleased with the amount of vegetarian options available which was a worry before visiting the site. Was suggested by our friend to dine in here & I can understand why 😍 We arrived by 5pm, just before the rush hour so we didn’t have any difficulty in getting the table even though we didn’t have any reservations. We’re directed to dining area below & its amazing as we can see kitchen in progress. We’re greeted by lovely waiter for service on what to order. Asked for few suggestions from them too. We ordered a must have Chicken Biryani topped with pomegranates. Its amazingly good! One portion is enough for 2 if you aren’t a big eater. Next we ordered the house specialty - The Black Dhaal. It’s beyond amazing! Its so creamy and filling. Definitely worth sharing. We ordered garlic naan to pair with the dhaal. It has buttery taste but oily for my liking. I’m used to dryer kind of naan but that doesn’t mean it’s not good! We order chili chicken as well as I find it quite unique. Don’t be alarmed by its spiciness as the name has described! It’s really spicy but lovely! Next we ordered dessert - a rice pudding which I personally always loved. The rice pudding is very thick and has coconutty flavor to it. Its nice as well. On side note, the 3 chutneys served were amazing!! Best chutneys I’ve ever had. My fav is the green chutney. Overall we love the dining experience here. All together it costed us €48! I think its very reasonable compare to the gastronomic experience we had. No wonder we saw a long que right after we’re done! To make it comfortable for you please either book a table or come before peak hour. Other than that your experience would be wonderful. Would love to eat here again some day.

Very busy restaurant in London covent garden always a que so recommend you book a sitting if you know you are going into town and you want a meal. Otherwise be prepared for the wait. Split over two floors, it has 130+ tables so it's big, and coupled with the number of people it's busy. Basement could do with a little bit more light, as difficult to read the menu, choices of dishes kept to minimum to enable a quick turnaround of food and service, you can be in and out within the hour. Visited Dishoom on a busy Wednesday evening. Venue is amazing and they’ve clearly gone to a lot of effort to make it look good. Food is very tasty, but quite pricy for what it is. On that basis, they clearly want to be an ‘upper market’ venue, so there are some tweaks that I’d expect from somewhere that we spent £140 each (for example, the table rocking and I regularly waiter check in’s). Overall, I’d recommend this place. They also have great breakfast.

Having visited this restaurant for the first time and recommended . Ordered the Biryani and mutton. The food came out within 10 mins, so that is a bad sign. I can't eat reheated meat as it makes me ill. And this was the case. I don't want reheated food even if it was made fresh that day. At the end of the meal I asked for some Anis, which they didn't have, or a pernod or sambuca for my stomach as a precaution..They are pretty standard liquors. I had a brandy instead. The vegetables were nice and that was about it which was a separate dish. The best thing about this place is the hand soap in the WCs. On the way home , I was ill and had to stop off at Clapham and go to Shake shack rest rooms as I knew this would happen. If you can't make a fresh curry, which takes about half an hour then take it off the menu!! I am not sure why there are 1O restaurants but I am sure the public can make an educated guess. Yes I am pretty annoyed.

Would have given higher, as the food was good. However, the member of staff with the tattoo on one arm on the lower floor was very impatient & outright rude. Never been treated like this in a restaurant ever. Would not go to Covent Garden branch again.

I have visited Dishom more than 10 times and the least I can say is that it is worth every pound. Amazing as usual!

Two floors of Bombay cuisine galore. Very iconic decor and furniture. The wooden chairs felt very fragile, and squiggly - not sure if that’s part of the Bombay vibe but I will assume not. The music and acoustics made it quite hard to speak across a table. The waiter was very friendly and explained the dishes clearly. He also cleaned the table after our mains. I did feel a bit pushy to add more items to menu - in fact we ended up ordering more than we had appetite for. I would say one small dish and two large dishes is more than enough for two ppl unless you are very hungry.

One of the best restaurants in London for Indian cuisine. Great taste, great atmosphere, great staff. Just perfect.

Fantastic eursian style restaurant Well worth the 30min queue at 6pm on a cold Wednesday. As always, ordered far too much food. Black Daal is superb as are the mushrooms. Wasn't that impressed with the lamb chops or the G&T. Great atmosphere and aroma of all the spices

Restaurant is really overhyped, and I was very disappointed after going here. The taste of dishes was pretty awful, and the serving size was so small.

Great food and atmosphere! Highly recommended options include black daal, chicken ruby, and pao bhaji. The only small issue is the waiting time, as the place is quite popular. Depending on the time, you might have to wait in the queue for more than 30 minutes, but the staff ensures your comfort by serving you with chai, etc

Wonderful meal in a wonderful library. The only constructive feedback I'd give was that the pudding was a bit too heavy for after a filling curry. Ice cream or similar would have gone down better. The
