The service could have been better (my table wasn’t ready for my reservation, my food took almost an hour, and my water glass remained empty throughout my meal despite the tables next to me being filled often)… that being said, the atmosphere was lovely and the food was delicious! I would absolutely return. ◡̈

Visited this beautiful restaurant when visiting Edinburgh, what an absolute gem it was! Food was delicious! Service was amazing with very friendly staff, very nice cocktails, all for a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend and return if ever in Edinburgh again!

Recently took a group from Germany for an evening meal. Staff, service and food excellent. Gabriela and Megan were attentive friendly and professional with nothing too much trouble. Fabulous location, comfortable surroundings and a quality selection of drinks. Highly recommended when in the capital.

Review from 29th of February 2023 Up one flight of stairs on the first floor of Traverse theatre which is in adjacent to Usher Hall. Very nice interior as walking up as well as entering with a tree in the middle of the dining area on the right and on the left the Bar area with Bar with seats. The lunch deal which is very good value for money, but combination of lacklustre dishes. The duck terrine with tiny salad and a triangle of bread was below average and the Starter of fish with some chicory leaves was also average. The mains of fish was reasonably good. The desert of filo pastry with fruit and cream was average as was the ice cream sorbet dessert. The drinks for £5 on the classic cocktail was a good value and the margarita particular was well made. The service was attentive. The ambience was lively, a table to rather close together, and the lighting rather low, because partly because of the tree of scaring the light. Good value for money for average tasting food, but excellent value for cocktails Which started last time and end at 6 pm. Review from 2022: Just of Castle Terrace in the traverse theater. Up on flight of stairs and there is a lift. Nice design of Dine at the stairs. Restaurant is modern interior with a tree in the middle that breaks things up. Lunch menu- 2/3 courses excellent value. Had the black pudding croquette- excellent dish and the mains of Beef pave- again excellent. Had the classic cocktails for £5! Amazing value. The margarita was excellent- shaken not frappe and the Americano. Vibrant on a Wednesday lunch time! Good service. Fantastic weekend day lunch choice!

Living in the Highlands of Scotland we only manage to visit Dine at the Traverse five or six times a year yet without fail Andrew Usher greets us with such a wonderful welcome which is amazing given the number of customers he must have dealt with since he last served us He truly is a one off. The food this time did not disappoint.

What a lovely experience. Although we had not reserved a table, we were welcomed warmly, coats taken and in no time a table prepared. The bar staff advised on a nice wine, the menu explained and food was brought at a good pace. The food was wonderful! The prawn cocktail full of tasty prawns, then monkfish with black pudding! What a great combination!!! We felt so well looked after by the staff. Highly recommend… and we will definitely return. Thank you for all and well done to Dine for getting it so right!

We last visited Dine two years ago - it was still as good! We ate at lunchtime and had the Market Menu. All three courses were excellent. Attractive setting. Staff were friendly especially Lianne.

We think of DINE as a place for a special treat. The sumptuous surroundings, great bar, fantastic food and lovely staff keep us coming back for more. We had a very enjoyable long lunch with friends a few days ago and we all loved it. This time it was with friends but I also use the restaurant for Client entertaining, such is the opulent feel and quality of all aspects.

A really nice experience at Dine last night. All the food we had was delicious with the monkfish deserving a special mention as it was exceptional. There is also an excellent choice of wines and cocktails. The service was informative and friendly yet discreet, making for a lovely, relaxing evening.

Dine provided a really memorable experience on a night with talented musical entertainment following a delicious 3 course meal. Lived in Edinburgh 50+ years and few if any dining experiences beat it for taste in more ways than one. Excellent service across the board.

A bit disappointing. We selected Dine based on reviews and menu offered. The staff were good and welcoming. The main courses were very tasty but served on plates which hadn’t been pre warmed so got cold quickly. One of the desserts shown on actual menu was a big attraction but even the waitress didn’t know when she took the order it “wasn’t available “. The restaurant had a good mix of customers but the hard floor and walls made the noise a bit overpowering. Why do restaurants continue to adopt this sort of design? Easy to clean?

We could not fault. Table for two for pre-theatre dinner. Mushroom and mackerel starters lovely. We both ordered the sea bream for our mains....absolutely divine. Desserts of choice were panna cotra and apple crumble both were plate clearingly fabulous. Thank you.

We had a lovely family night out at Dine and everything was of the highest order. Every time we have been here we`ve had a great time and this was no exception.

We dined in Dine on Saturday night 18/11. We celebrated our engagement here exactly a year previous, and told the staff then that we would be back as the food & service was incredible. Chris was brilliant, and looked after us so well from start to finish. Even a year after the engagement we still were met with a glass of champagne & got our favourite spot under the tree. We will most definitely keep returning anytime we make the trip across the water to Edinburgh.

Les plats commandés sont délicieux, la cuisine est recherchée. Ne demandez pas de pain pour accompagner votre repas comme sur le continent car vous recevrez des toasts grillés et factures. Seule reproche, une salle de dîner dont l’acoustique est très mauvaise. Un sentiment de manger dans un hall de gare.

Portobello mushrooms served cold ? The main was roast chicken nothing special. Desert was meant to be a crumble but was more like a Grenoble not toasted no crunch . It was our 4 visit but will probably be the last . The service was fantastic.
