Digby's in Armagh

We have just had lunch in digbys. Roast beef is the equivalent of two steaks. Turkey and ham look delicious. Roast beef was delicious. Couldn't beat digbys

You wont be disappointed in this restaurant. Great food and friendly service. It is best in the area.

Digbys is a great restaurant. There is always a warm welcome, staff are well trained, really good Guinness and always excellent food . I rarely have starters, but normally, steaks and their homemade desserts, both of which are consistently good .

Very well trained and friendly staff. Food is delicious and a lovely ambience. Just one slight criticism - the beef medallions were a little tough but the whiskey sauce made up for it.

Normally an excellent eating out experience here but not this time unfortunately. The early bird/retro menu was very disappointing: fairly restricted which is to be expected but the food itself was not up to the usual standard. The service was as always outstanding and the staff were welcoming and friendly. A special big shout out to the barman, didn't get his name, but he was absolutely amazing at his job and went to great lengths to make up a cocktail I had requested and it was delicious.

Good food in comfortable surroundings

Haven't been in years... Went on Saturday evening absolutely delicious really enjoyable meal.. Service was excellent and atmosphere suited us perfect not to full just right....

Visited recently had pork belly for starter 4 small cubes of pork belly on a plate with some salad. Poorly described on the menu it was only a very measly 4 pieces of pork not a Pork belly as described. For main I had steak sandwich. Cooked as I asked but very small and not of a quality that I would expect at the price point I had to paid. Had the brownie for desert it was nothing special. Overall mediocre I won’t be rushing back.

Visited digbys for Sunday lunch after reading great reviews. Ordered potato and leek soup for starters which was very heavily seasoned with salt so much so that I couldn't finish it. The waiters/waitresses came 3 times to check if we'd finished. Once our starters were taken away our main very promptly followed. My Sunday roast was not what I expected. The roast meat was very fatty with large bits of fat running through it, the vegetables looked like something from a frozen bag with no flavour whatsoever, the mash was under the roast meat and it was very wet and sloppy and also had no flavour, the roast potato wasn't crispy as roast potatoes should be and the potato when cut into was soapy and not fluffy. Very disappointed and needless to say didn't finish my main either. At this point I decided to say something to which I was offered chips instead. I was disgusted with this response and just wanted to leave at this point. The price of the starter was taken off our bill but I can safely say I won't be back. Could have made better at home myself for half the price.

Best meal out in Ireland value for money delicious top quality food friendly and staff owner and wonderful choice of dishes dick was crispy fish fresh pork succulent and curry tasty every course was top top top what a chef presentation and such value no extra hidden charges for sauce veg or potatoes this will be worth flying into Northern Ireland to visit

Friendly welcome. Nice little bar area. Very pleased with the air conditioning when it was 28 degrees out! Lovely food. Big portions mind. Steak is fab. Mushrooms are brilliant and our 5 year old niece demolished the crispy chicken wings.

Turning up on a very busy Easter Sunday evening and despite not having booked we were found a table where we enjoyed a lovely meal and drinks. Treat yourself to a visit to Digbys and enjoy what's on offer and meet their wonderful welcoming staff.

Had a lovely experience , food was beautiful, though I and my daughter ordered an Irish coffee ( it wasn’t on menu ) It wasn’t made correctly and didn’t taste right.

We had a lovely family meal here on Saturday. The menu was great, making it really hard to choose. Everything was so tasty and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. Decent value for a group of 7.

This is a wonderful place. We really look forward to it when we know we are going. We are infrequent visitors as we only go here when we travel to Armagh to go to the Marketplace theatre and with covid it’s only our third visit in about three years, so they’ll not make much of a living on us. We’ve never been disappointed here and we really enjoyed our latest visit. They get the meaning of hospitality: the welcome is warm, the food is great and all the staff charming. I opted for a steak & chips but it was a close run thing to a delicious sounding vegetarian risotto but it was my third dine out in 4 days with the other two being non meat, so steak it was. I asked for medium; I got medium. The meat was really flavoursome too. I asked for English mustard (best in the world) and it was a yes and I flipped the onion rings for tobacco onions and it was no problem. Just to note in passing the number of so called steak houses that don’t have English mustard is as staggering as it is unacceptable. The tasty steak had a bacon jam spread atop. I’d never heard of it. It was salty, sweet so bacon, balsamic vinegar maybe sugar, I ate it all though my personal preference remains mustard. I’d like to try it as a spread on toasted crumpets with a lightly fried egg on top. The only thing I would change in my meal is the pepper sauce but again it’s personal taste as I’d add double cream and a lot more black pepper. My wife opted for salmon and she declared it delicious. All in all another enjoyable meal in cosy surroundings. Hopefully we’ll be back sooner rather than later.

Another fabulous meal At Digbys. Service first class. Food absolutely delicious and portions were massive. Their bacon jam is the most delicious addition to a steak sandwich! Couldn’t recommend here enough!

Curry soup was quite nice, mushrooms tasteless. Lamb shank very nice but with overpowering beef gravy? Salmon sauce seemed like out of a packet . As for the baked Alaska being home made I think it was just home blowlamped, nothing like baked Alaska. Been here many times before and had excellent food, something has changed.

First Class Service & Very Delicious Appetizing Meals.

We were staying in Castle Leslie with limited food options in the surrounding village, and were going to visit Armagh. Digby's was the perfect place to get a meal, situated about halfway between the two. It was a busy Friday evening, and luckily we could get a table. It was good value set menu, and I really enjoyed my salmon. They also have a selection of interesting gins!

Family celabration dinner, we had 3 chicken and 1 vegan dinner, with myself having a rib eye steak, every one was very happy with the food, except for the steak, it was ordered well done, but sadly was cooked rare to medium, not sure if this was a guinuine mistake or a chef who cooks steak the way they think it should be cooked, granted, a well done steak is the most difficult to cook, I did eat it but when paying a premium price (£23.00 ! ) compared to other local establishments I was expecting it as ordered. Not one to make a fuss , i only mentioned it when paying the bill, where I received a £1.30 discount! I may return to Digby ' s again but would be very reluctant to order or indeed recommend any one having a well done steak.

We didn’t even know this gastropub place existed and only found it through a friend (yes we have a friend). Four of us dined and there’s always a story. We were going to see the delightful comedian, Ardal O'Hanlon, at Armagh’s Marketplace theatre. Yes, Ardal is an Irish forename; means Valour. We had invited two friends (and yes that makes three friends). So as we wanted to invite them for a pre theatre meal I’d asked a friend to recommend a good place to eat in Armagh only to be told go here, the outskirts of Armagh in Killylea village. So we did. It serves up darn good, tasty, fair priced food. No nonsense, friendly service too. It’s one of those diamond places that you want to award 6 stars to.We had the early bird 3 course menu - £18. Now I did something I’ve never done before; I ordered chicken wings to start. It was the fact they were described as hot wings with sesame seeds and home-made blue cheese dip and they were blooming lovely. For main, I opted for a mushroom risotto and again it tasted wonderfully good. Finally, it had to be baked Alaska which I shared with my wife - it’s a dessert you’d never have seen on a menu in these parts, but it seems to be making its way onto menus more and more. I don’t often compare places but this place is a shining example of cooking food that’s streets way ahead of places that charge more money for much poorer fare and resent being told this.

i just love this place, the food is absolutely divine whether it Saturday bar food to scrumptious Sunday lunch. Every time i leave i'm already looking forward to my next trip back. To top it off the prices are so reasonable. i have recommended this place to several off my friends who also share my view. Check this place out without a shadow off a doubt.

Don’t waste your money ! Rude staff & terrible overpriced food, Totally ruined a family night out, don’t know how this restaurant has a good reputation, easily the worst dining “ experience “ I’ve had in many years.

First time visiting here. Got sat at the bar first to wait until table was ready for us. And got to see the menu. Order taken at the bar. Choice of meals is limited only 1 chicken dish on the menu. I chose a vegetarian option which had a full page to select from. Food was tasty and we enjoyed our evening!

Went for lunch today and it was delicious from start to finish. It was excellent, really fresh and tasty. The service is also excellent and the servers are very pleasant and attentive. You won't be disappointed at Digby's.
