Di Polas in Hastings

Like everything nowadays but over 7 pounds for .2 single scoop cones ...

Googled looking for ice-cream, tuned up and found a queue for ice cream on a blustery day, it must be good. We waited around 5 mins to get to the front of the queue moves quickly and once inside the staff are friendly and efficient There was plenty of choice of flavours and extremely reasonable. Sadly there are no dietary options as the risk of cross contamination is too high. Vegan, dairy free and gluten free options are available however would be unsuitable for allergies or intolerances. It's near on impossible to stop cross contamination in an ice cream parlour. Four stars as the ice cream is good. Super reasonable and the staff were nice, as the bulk of my reviews are for gluten and dairy free a star had to be dropped and reports from the 4 ice cream eaters in my family have stated perfectly nice but not 5 stars Worth a visit, probably the best ice cream in Hastings as it's made on site. Super cute you can see the kitchen. And it's all made on site. prepare for a short wait, it moves fast and is worth it. There are various shops advertising vegan options and gluten advertised at many shops in Hastings, thinking about it there is no way that they would be able to overcome the cross contamination issues and as all the cafes had the same flavours and signs I would guess they are all factory made. This could totally be a rare 5 stars if they had a separate singular flavour (I would take anything and pay a premium) that was free from dairy and gluten, and no risk of cross contamination from gluten containing cones. The kitchen so so clean that the risk of cross contamination from preparation, even though handling gluten and dairy containing ingredients is so low that customers could make the choice for themselves when looking in!

Great quality ice cream. Paid 4.60 for two scoops in a waffle cone. It's was huge and easy to cross over the road and sit on the beach with or could have sat inside. Don't wasn't your money on Mr Whippy and a tired flake.

There was a good variety of excellent quality gelato and options for different cones or tubs. We had been recommended to try here and we weren’t disappointed. Looking across the road to the sea (there were seats inside and out) on a sunny day was an enjoyable experience.

A rare treat! A whistle-stop visit, no long queue despite heading towards a busy time of day, nice selection of ice cream to choose from, and it was very nice and well priced.

Fantastic cakes! I really recommend if you only need a slice of cake.

Gelato made on site. I got chocolate and pistachio. It was smooth, luxurious, no ice crystals. Friendly staff. It’s great they do coffee too. I liked it. I will return!

Hands down the BEST ice cream in Hastings and quite possibly the UK. All lovingly made fresh on sight, you may even see the genius himself hard at work creating delicious new flavours for you. My favourite flavours are always the nutty ones - Pistachio, Salty Peanut and more. But you really cannot go wrong. (They will allow you a taster or two if you are really struggling to make a choice) Having lived in Hastings my entire life, I remember when they first opened years ago, I highly recommend this spot to any and all visitors of the area, you will dream about this delicious ice cream. I often visit on a cold rainy day, because really there are no rules when it comes to enjoying ice cream by the seaside. Watch out for the gulls if you are going to walk with your cone 🍦

My husband and I visited here on the 10th October 2023 while holidaying in the area. I noticed the amazing crochet ice creams on the desk which a staff member apparently makes as a hobby and sells... I couldn't leave without two little Halloween specials! The manager/owner happened to be in the shop during our visit and he's of Italian origin, it was lovely to chat a little about his journey to being in Hastings and how he came about being in the gelato business. I asked what he'd recommend and he recommended salty peanut and the mint; both the best varieties of said flavours I've ever had! So very good. He recommended an affogato to my husband which he thoroughly enjoyed! Very bright, bubbly, and friendly personalities which endeared us to this venue so much we just cannot wait to come back and say hello!

While there’s obviously a lot of places in Hastings selling ice cream, this place is the real deal for gelato. Lovely flavours, nice people. You can turn any gelato into a milkshake.

I pick lemon sorbet and mint chocolate, they are perfect matching. I have to say lemon sorbet is the best for summer, sweet and sour, you must try this favour. Mint chocolate is nice and fresh!

Fantastic real Italian ice cream. I had coffee flavour. It was deeply flavoured but not overly seeet. Smooth and rich. Fabulous

We always pop in here when we visit Hastings. Even though we weren't hungry we had to have an ice cream so we went for 1 scoop of salted peanut in a tub which tasted similar to Snickers. The quality is amazing and one scoop was plenty for us to share.

We had a family trip to Hastings on Easter Saturday. The main course was fish and chips at Maggies which was followed by a stroll to Di Pola’s for dessert and coffee. As expected there was a long queue but as always it was worth the wait. We sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine.

Too wonderful to describe, has got to be tasted. Lots of fabulous tastes. Try all the ones you fancy. Then repeat. I had passion fruit twice, chocolate once and also rum and raisins. They let you taste a small bit before you decide. I have only been in Hastings 3 days!

Came here recently based on reviews, and it more than lives up to its impressive rating! Gelato tastes amazing, one of the best I've had. Service was also friendly. Highly recommend if you're visiting Hastings!

Wow...popped here for an ice cream and were amazed with the quality and flavours. True gelato, the mouth feel was soft and silky, even with my choice of peanut butter and cherry. Mint choc chip for the husband. Lovely!

Just popped in on the way home to grab an Icecream. They had an impressive selection of homemade ices and friendly staff to match.

I visited with my husband while we were on our honeymoon. The young lady who served us was very kind and explained all processes of things (I have coeliac disease, and both myself and my husband are autistic). We opted both opted to try new things and were not disappointed! Very decently priced, and we would be delighted to return.

A good choice of Gelato flavours, with some crowd pleasing favourites and more innovative options. Lighter than British ice creams, and typically more authentic and natural in their flavour, Gelato is becoming more available - though Di Pola's is the best in Hastings. Cakes and coffee are also available in this modern take on a classic Italian Gelateria.

It's impossible to rate Di Pola's as highly as it deserves. To be able to serve Italian style gelato in so many great flavours, just as they do in Italy, is a huge achievement in itself. But to top that, they make it all themselves! It's a huge Hastings highlight. Go NOW! My current favourite - Lotus Biscoff flavour - mmmmmm!

We really enjoyed the delicious Italian Gelato at Di Pola's. Sitting outside in the glorious sunshine it was a lovely experience too.

Friendly staff, nice clean tables, toilets and even better really tasty Gelato in many different flavours, cones and toppings.

The ice creams look amazing. We only came for a coffee this time though. Staff are very friendly and the coffee is better than that of any coffee chain. Would highly recommend :)

Lots of tasty flavours and not too expensive, went back twice. I tried the mango, honeycomb, cappuccino and sea salt caramel.

We visited this place on 4th Sept. The staff serving and the Ice cream seemed nice but we were charged for 5 ice creams when we only bought 4. I mentioned the overcharging to a member of staff and she said she would look into it for me. once we finished our ice creams I again asked if she had been able to rectify the overcharging. She was then extremely rude and said that she was now on a cigarette break and I would have to wait. I was shocked at her arrogance and poor attitude. I would not recommend this place and looking at other reviews it appears that i am not the first to receive poor service.

As always, there was an amazing choice of flavours. Mint choc chip and honeycomb were delightful. Staff dealt with the long queue quickly. Portions generous.

We come here every time we visit Hastings. I had a cappuccino ice cream and my wife had chocolate which we ate sitting outside. The quality of ice cream is superb and I can thoroughly recommend upgrading to a chocolate cone.

If you love ice cream, this is the place to visit, they have a wide variety of flavours, locally made, and a big step up from Mr Whippy ! Affogato is a particular favourite of mine.

Very little except ice cream but this is specialist class ice cream so go for it. Only complaint is that they run out quickly but this is due to their popularity not a small selection.

What a find!! The best ice cream in Hastings. Truly creamy and full of flavour. The passion fruit is amazing. We loved it so much we went twice in our short stay in Hastings. They even gave my 5month baby a small taster and she loved it.

It's very hard to nail artisanal ice-cream but Di Pola manages to do it: chilled at the right temperature, it melts very slowly but it's also not icy and remains very smooth throughout. Recommended!

Extremely tasty gelato. I had two scoops in a cone, sea salt caramel & biscoff. Both were delicious. Located opposite the adventure golf.

Read great reviews, but on finding and entering shop there was no welcome, asked if they had pistachio. "No" was the answer, the girl serving didn't manage to say anything else to us apart from the price. Don't touch the vegan coconut ice cream it was awful! Salted peanut ok, nothing special. Surprised at reviews and particularly the girls customer service. The chap was friendly. Bad day?

Possibly the best ice cream in the UK! A great selection of incredible flavours, which change throughout the week. Visited here twice whilst on hols, kids always wanted more. Good service, very reasonable prices, it's 5 stars from me!

Simply put, the best gelato store in the town. Always has plenty of choice from it's freshly made (in house) ice creams. Includes vegan ice creams and sorbets. Highly recommended if you fancy a great tasting sweet treat.

Absolutely love this place! All the gelato is made on site with alot of love! The best ice cream I have had bar none! We were only down for a long weekend but went in every day! Wish I could take a job lot home, but not sure it would survive the drive! An absolute gem of a place, be sure to visit!

Stopped for tea, coffee and two large ice creams. Very reasonable price for the location and the ice cream was incredible. Can highly recommend the mango and honeycomb flavours.

Love all the Ice cream flavours especially sticky toffee pudding and custard, the apple crumble ice cream was so good too, so many options to chose from. Staff are super friendly, highly recommend.

A must to stop here and have a ice cream. The mint choc chip very good. Along with the rum and raisin. Oh and not forgetting the strawberry ripple with marsh mellows.

Very good gelato, could do a tad more on the stronger flavour, otherwise one of the best on the Hastings corniche.

Have visited before on a few occasions and the ice cream is nice. On this visit I was surprised that no contact details were taken for the purposes of track and trace Covid 19 when eating in. As I am nervous about eating out whilst this virus is still in general circulation I feel this isn't in the interest of customers but so that Di Pola are not inconvenienced. I know it is not compulsory and only a guideline but I will not return in a hurry!

This place does great quality ice cream. The scoops are generous and the prices are reasonable. They also do milkshakes. There are tables inside and out.

There was quite a long queue outside Di Polas on the Sunday afternoon we visited Hastings and the gelato was worth the wait! I had a scoop of vanilla and a scoop of coconut but there were about 20 flavours available. They are operating a one person/family at a time in the shop rule a one way system to help with social distancing. Definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

You have to try their ice cream. It’s authentic Italian ice cream. Top quality. The flavours can vary, but each 1 tastes better than the last. Definitely worth a visit. Even in these times when we have to queue. It’s well worth the wait.

Very well organised to keep staff and customer's safe.

Honeycomb and Kinder flavours were basically vanilla with a tiny, barely noticeable touch of flavour. But generous servings. Mango and mint were very good

This is my son's favourite ice-cream shop in the whole world. Great authentic Italian ice-cream. Reasonably priced and opposite the crazy golf. Bellisimo.

I took my little girl here to get an out of season ice cream and they were amazing great product and good price, staff were friendly and extremely knowledgable. The owners should be proud.

If you want ice cream then this is the only place to go. Centrally located on the sea front and all the ice cream is made in store. It’s authentic ice cream with all the usual flavours plus some extra specials if you fancy a break from the norm. Service is good and also serve a good coffee. As a local of the area this is the only place I take the kids to get an ice cream on the seafront.
