Beautiful food but expensive, £3.85 for a potato cake?!

Surprisingly good Cafe. Looks traditional from the outside, however we did go in went round the corner and to the back where they have a lovely space with art & sofas, great easy listening music too. Next time going to try one of the amazing looking cakes in the bakery!

A very friendly cafe with fresh food from the bakery. Really enjoyed lunch which included one of the best toasted sandwiches and salad I've had.

Bought two Eccles cakes they’re definitely not freshly made , they are not crumbly & moist like I’m used to from other cake shops there hard dry & stale.

Absolutely devastated. Bought a cake for my dads 50th costing over £100 and was happy to pay that as we have had beautifully decorated cakes from here in the past. I ordered the cake a month in advance. Unfortunately it looks like it was decorated last minute and wasn’t even done good. There was very little decoration even though we asked for it to be done a certain way. After calling up after receiving the cake there was one lovely lady but the woman who was in charge was quite rude about the whole situation. I’d understand if I hadn’t spent so much and I am always one to give the benefit of the doubt but after calling and being treated the way we were. Not a chance. It was my Nan who called up and had the phone on loud speaker and the way they treated her was disgusting. She was so upset and heartbroken. I will never get the look she had on her face out of my head. I truly hope anyone else going has a better experience and hope it was just a one off for us. Unfortunately I will never be buying from them again. Their service was appalling.

Lovely breakfast rolls, cakes and lattes. Cafe a bit cold, but service and food great. Tables in the second room have a more cosy feel. Pies and cakes in the counter very tempting 😋

Nice but expensive and only 1 gluten free option... A cake . Disappointing

Very dissapointing, waited over 40 minutes for cooked breakfast which was not expected - had to leave whilst waiting in order to move my car and avoid getting a parking ticket. The food was ok, slightly cold due to having to leave briefly. Staff could have been more understanding. No warning of delay and no apology.

Enjoyed my cooked breakfast very much and bought cakes to take home which were also nice.

Myself and 2 colleagues came here at lunch and were not disappointed. Good, solid, sensible food at good prices. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere.

Steak and onion pie was lovely,bit small and expensive but nice,coffee was good would be revisiting.

Popped in here after a cycle ride in the hills. They have a large range of delicious-looking baked goods like pies, sausage rolls and fresh cream cakes, scones, as well as chutneys and jams. You can also sit outside and enjoy a tea or fresh coffee. If this bakery was in my neighbourhood I'd be the fattest person for miles around.

I love this place, the food and the people that serve you there are very Pleasant and kind. I would recommend it to all. They have the best Devonshire rolls 😋 very good quality pies and bakery, you have to visit it.

Very limited menu, and several items on the menu were “not available”, very small portions served with what is essentially a side salad, because they had “run out of salad”, any form of salad dressing was “unavailable”, because “they don’t have any”, took a very long time to get drinks at the table, because they were “busy doing take away orders”. Overall a VERY disappointing experience.

Dog friendly. I'll avoid it in future, there are other choices close by.

Customer service was shocking . Waited 20 mins for someone to take our order, then another 20 for the coffee to arrive . We were just about to leave . When the coffee did arrive the women plonked it on the table with no apology and left the tray . It really shouldn’t take this long to get a coffee!! . 45 mins for a sausage sandwich . They Don’t seem to care that people look fed up . We all get that people are busy but no acknowledgment or apology is not acceptable . Even when it quietened down things didn’t improve . Won’t be returning

Stood at the door for 10mins,when we actually got seated waited for 20mins to be served then another 20mins for the coffee to come,lost track of time how long the food was to turn up but unacceptable to say the least..Staff not very pleasant or apologetic won't be coming back as service and organisation was shocking.

Excellent quality food and very helpful staff

The food is really good, and would be worth it if it wasn’t for the atmosphere of the employees. Their customer service is honestly atrocious. The staff barely acknowledge you when they could be bothered to finally serve you. Been in on a few occasions where there is no line and you’re just waiting for them to stop chatting with each other to get served.

Wow what can I say this bakery has beautiful pies cakes just everything . Also they are very talented when they make birthday cakes or wedding cakes . Highly recommended.

When cake come for my daughters birthday wanted to cry it was awful . 40th birthday cake chaz plonked together no detail rushed job flavours terrible never awould I buy from here again . £350 3 tier cake looked like child made it in my opinion you have to give stars i gave 1 star but ideally would rate o stars . Should of gone to designer shop what I have payed for heap of a mess fuming I will warn everyone I no stay away from this shop

Pies, pastries, croissants and cakes: they're all here, and all most excellent. Friendly staff, even under the duress of dithering customers and a long queue - definitely worth a visit for your bakery fix. Top tip: bring yourself something with which to keep occupied in case you too are behind customers who are trying to buy the entire shop...

Very very slow service.. 1 waited 15 mins to take the order 2 another 10 for coffee to come 3 Almost cancelled cakes as they came so long after the coffee 4 the two cakes we ordered were tiny and expensive .. don't bother!!

The most delicious cakes and pastries! Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for, and everything is first class! We buy our Birthday cakes from here too, and they are so light and tasty.

Absolutely love this place in the lovely Market Town of Frodsham. The bakery side is absolutely heaven pies, cakes, bread etc and the cafe offers a great selection of all of the above. Love it and well worth a visit.

Be prepared for a long wait if you go to the Devonshire Bakery. It is so slow and you need to have a lot of patience. Not only do people want bakery things , they also order coffee to take out. It takes time. Other shops in Frodsham have done there very best with Covid to serve you as quickly as possible and make adjustments. They generally only have one assistant serving. Also the scones I found have been frozen. Some people just walk out as it takes so long.

Poor customer service. Two speeds, slow and stopped. This is not due to their covid restrictions, but poor management. Any reasonable person including myself is showing patience, especially with our local independent retailers, but their inability to serve a queue is very poor. Four people in the outdoor queue of 8 ahead of me all gave up and left - all had already queued for at least 15 mins. TBH overrated and overpriced.

I have lived in Frodsham now for 4/5 years and admit that I have never visited the Bakery due mainly because of the very long ques, especially during Covid but last week I walked past no ques, well none outside, a couple of people inside so I though I'd treat myself. I love Vanilla slices and low and behold yes they had some. Eagerly I walked home thinking of my cup of tea and my vanilla slice!I was so disappointed it was awful the vanilla custard filling was so sweet and the pastry layers either side were so rubbery that I could not even eat them - I don't know if they had been frozen before hand but really so so disappointing!!!

Staff don't engage much and the food is ok, but very expensive for what it is. £3.20 for a tiny meat and potato pie.

Such a delightful bakery! Beautiful freshly cakes and pastries and so much more. Staff very friendly and they have good Covid measures in place. We will be returning again and again.

It's ok but the service is a bit slow thay can't keep blaming on the covid thay need to come to speed.

Bought two meat and potato pies at an outrageous price. No seasoning and tasteless filling. (better ones at less than half the price in Morrison`s) Bought Danish Pastries. As a Danish born (Faroe Islands) I am well qualified To say they were extremely poor quality. (Self chef qualified at Salford Tech. 1983.)

A larger cafe area feels very safe during the strange times we’re in. Hand sanitizer at the door, staff taking orders and delivering food to the table. We had coffee and toasted sandwiches this morning which were very good. There’s a good selection of breakfast, sandwiches, cakes etc., etc. I think I’ll pop into the shop for cakes to take home. It’s nice to feel that we’re getting back to normal, safely.

Had lunch in the little cafe. Was very nice and the pie was the best I had ever tasted. Staff were very attentive.

Called here for the first time today with great expectations given a recommendations and judging by the queue outside (Covid restrictions).Ordered and was charged for a Pork Pie which later I discovered I had not been given . 2 individual Spinach Quiches were under cooked - egg was runny. Almond tart was not fresh, very dry (suspect left from Saturday opening). Granary bloomer was not what I would consider 'traditional' British=sh bake, texture too fluffy and very dry.Most disappointed. Given size/quality of each product, represents poor value.On the plus side, the hygiene and queuing arrangements cannot be faulted.

Great home made food and baked goods. Quite pricey in comparison to a standard bakery but deservedly so. Reccomended for anyone in the local area or passing by.

Sausage muffin very good. Just needed sauce (my fault forgot to ask) founf is something for water for our little dog. Only thing missing was a bit of sunshine.

If you're into exquisite pastries then this is the gaff for you, You might need to take out a bank loan if you're planning on feeding your better half and yourself.. Basically it's worth the wait in the 1/4 mile long queue.

I lived in Frodsham over 20 years ago. Going back was delicious. It's still there thankfully and so were their Cornish Rolls. I bought three of them. Cut in half and frozen. Makes 6 fab meals for me with some chips and peas.

A way-stop on a journey home, and very glad we did. Phenomenal food, the best cup of coffee I’ve had in a long time, and a lovely, friendly atmosphere. A real treat.

Great stopping point on the way to Wales. Hog roast was amazing! Took a sausage roll for the road too!

Popped in here saturday to pick up some cakes to take back with us to the campsite we were staying on. This place is lovely inside but when we got there there wasnt much choice left at 2 in the afternoon. I also felt the staff werent the most friendly.The cakes themselves were good and I would go back to try more. Next time id go earlier so thered be more choice.

We ordered a full hog for 135 people at a scouting function at a local camp site. The hog arrived exactly on time with all the trimmings you could think of, buns , apple sauce, serving plates , instructions on how to cut the hog up, we had a super day and all thought the Hog was excellent. well done to the Dev
